5 comments about Sony Alpha DSLRA300X 10.2MP Digital SLR Camera with Super SteadyShot Image Stabilization with DT 18-70mm f/3.5-5.6 & DT 55-200mm f/4-5.6 Zoom Lenses.
  1. This is exactly what I have been looking for: A D-SLR that can be used like a point and shoot most of the time (just with better picture quality and a lot faster) but gives you the flexibility of a SLR when you have the time and leisure.

  2. This is a GREAT camera!!! The tilting lcd screen is fantastic and definitely worth the upgrade from the A200. I also bought a tripod (recommended) and so tilting the lcd screen came in really useful when the tripod went higher than my head! The camera feels great in the hand and the buttons are well placed. There is so much to this camera and I am excited about learning how to use everything. Definitely worth buying extra lenses, filters, extra battery etc to make this the perfect package.

  3. I upgraded to this camera from a Konica Minolta 5D. I'm very happy with the quality and ease of use with this camera. I can use my minolta lenses as well, As a matter of fact, the kit lens on the sony doesn't seem to be all that great really. So I'm using my kit lens off my km5d and am a lot happier with the results. I like the live view preview ability but mostly still shoot through the view finder. I recommend this camera to anyone. From the first time dslr user to the pro.

  4. I researched affordable DSLR cameras and chose the A300 for its rear screen viewing when desired, its 'in the camera body' anti shake system, its comfortable shape and weight, and its excellent picture clarity. The A300 is NOT a 'dumbed down' DSLR. Its sophisticated (yet easy to use)features should satisfy any photographer. Controls are perfectly positioned, settings are easily reviewed, delay time between pressing the shutter release and the picture being taken IS NON EXISTANT. Audio noise is unobtrusive. Bracketing is simply achieved. and the kit lens is fine for general use. As I take Nature photos, I opted for the Tamron 70-300mm zoom lens as a quality yet less expensive alternative to the Sony zoom. I would buy the Sony A300 again without hesitation. [Nevertheless, if you have an extra $400, the new 350 is an impressive choice indeed.]

  5. I bought this camera recently. Modestly, I thought this was one of the best decisions I made! The camera is amazing, it looks beautiful, it takes very, very good pictures, and the price is unbelievably good! I am not a fan of Sony products, but I just loved this. I don't write reviews very often, but I so wanted to share my excitement!

  1. I decided to upgrade from my older Sony CyberShot and was unsatisfied with the touch screen function. Also, the camera has a few buttons on the sides, but they are entirely too hard, so I'd have to press down on them anytime I wanted to use them, which was frequently.

I gave it a star because the style is the best I've seen from Sony by far.

  2. Its the camera that I have with me every day, all the time, as its small, does not take up a lot of space, has long battery life, starts up and takes pictures very quickly and image quality is excellent.

I prefer buttons to touchscreens, but I got used to this one and it works pretty well. Can operate the camera by one hand only, including the zoom, to take pictures, for example if I catch an interesting light on a building while walking on the street.

Low light scene programs work very well, took a few night skyline and fireworks shots recently. You will need a mini tripod or a Joby Gorillapod for that.

The T2 really lived up to my expectations as the point and shoot that's always ready. It complements well my film cameras that I use for more elaborate photography.

  3. The reasons for which I got attracted were 4GB built-in memory, stylish body and the size. It's working properly so far and I am satisfied. But, I found that the picture quality was not good as expected. I tried all the possible settings but still couldn't get the fully satisfying quality that we can expect from camera in this price. The next thing I didn't find friendly was the USB interface. The connector is in the down side which is really difficult to keep the camera in stand position.

Overall, It's a good camera that does everything as expected and the best camera for the quick snapshots....

  4. This one has all the features I ever dreamed, plus is so easy to use that I didn't need to read the catalog to figure it out.

  5. This is a great camera for someone looking for something very small and portable. The screen is very large (and touch-screen) so all the options you need to change are right there. It also has a "simple-shoot" mode so you don't get confused with all the options.

Leaving it on automatic, night shots come out very well, and there is usually no red-eye.

  1. This is an excellent product. I bought my Sony to make video reviews and to take a multitude of pictures. The camera comes with a very user friendly "how to" manual for those of us who aren't too tech savvy. For the price, it is a steal. The picture quality is excellent and rivals the quality from a lot of more expensive cameras. The Sony software isn't interchangeable with other brands so be ready to pay a little more to equip your product with Sony only products. All in all, an excellent purchase!

  1. This is a very good camera and I recommend it as a good first camera for anyone. The zoom, macro, and flash work very well and the camera's layout is easy to get the hang of. The camera's large display screen is great too. I like how this camera takes AA batteries instead of the usual li-ion rechargeable battery found in most thinner cameras.
The only complaint I have is when you are recording a video you dont have sound playback. Also, once uploaded to the computer the sound quality isn't that great.
It is very easy to upload your photos to a computer with a very easy-to-use program layout. I would rate this a 4 out of 5.

  2. I am a first time user of digital cameras and this product is very user friendly. I wanted something simple to use. I would recommend this camera to anyone who wants a digital camera with the higher quality and user friendly features.

  3. this is a great camera
multi functions that make picture taking very easy
    very easy to use

  4. This camera is okay. It can zoom in for pictures a lot. About 14x i think. Because its on smart zoom. It can take fine pictures, but video quality isn't as good. I love it though it's kind of small and fits in your pocket.

  5. This was a decent point and shoot camera when it worked. I took very good care of this camera. I did not drop it or damage it in any way. After 9 month's the LCD screen stopped working. This forced me to take several photos of the same pose/scene in the hopes of maybe taking a good picture of it. A couple of weeks after the 1 year warranty ran out, all of the pictures i took were fractured and blurred, forcing me to purchase a new camera. Like i said, when it did work, it took good pictures. But the quality of the hardware left a bad taste in my mouth. I will not buy another Sony camera again.

  1. The picture quality is bad. If you are shopping for a camera and you want someone's suggestion about this camera, I would suggest don't buy it. The picture is grainy, the red color and its hues somehow are pronounced or something happens and the picture is pretty bad. Taking these two problems into consideration, you could add any and all features and you still don't get even half your money's worth. The novelty of the touch screen is one thing, but even that is not worth the poor picture quality. Why take my word for it? Well for one thing I tried out all picture settings, ISO and whatever combination you can think of and even used tripods. It just doesn't cut it!!!! Period!!!

  2. I purchased this camera after about 2 months of research on every camera out there. I Love this camera, but I only gave it 4 stars for the following reasons:
    1. The product manual doesn't really tell you how to use the camera and the tons of functions.
    2. The touch screen is incredible. It can get a little overwhelming because one minute you can find a specific setting or function but when you go back to look for it again, you can't.
    3. It would be nice if the manual would help out with setting suggestions for taking pics.
    4. Many people say that this camera takes bad pics, but I have found that you really need to get to know the settings and flash controls.
    5. The software that comes with this is a bit confussing. I was on Kodak easyshare before buying the Sony Cybershot DSC-T70. The Kodak Easyshare software is WWWAAAAYYYY easier for everything. Sony would be smart to look at Kodak's software and make changes to there software.
    6. The flash is way too brite. A photographer friend of mine recommended taking a small piece of scotch tape (clear-frosted) and put it over the flash. This made a world of differance!

Overall, this is a fantastic camera! It has taken me a few weeks to get used to the settings, but I'm really glad that I didn't give up. No product out there is going to be perfect and everything is always going to upset someone, but this one is worth the time to get to know. I love that you can edit pics on the camera however, I can't figure out how to edit on the Sony software... One more recommendation, DO NOT use the red eye function. I have had better pics not using this feature than with it.

  3. I've owned a sony p-200 point and shoot digicam before this and that camera was amazing.

So I did not hesitate to buy the T70, but I should have.
From the get go when I loaded my first images, at 100% scale on Adobe Photoshop I saw all the grain and imperfection this camera's image qualities host.

Sure the touch screen interface is a great conversation starter and is impressive, but for me I take photo's semi-seriously.

The lack of a manual setting mode is frustrating.
ISO up to 3200 is a joke.
The program feature allows you to reach that, but even at 200 with less than perfect lighting the images come out GRAINY!

Video features are well and you are now allowed to zoom in and out during live recording so thats a plus.
Sleek design and its easy to carry shape is a plus compared to my P-200.

Overall it is a decent camera for everyday images and shooting, I personally like using the HD aspect for my images with this camera but for the level of imagery I am use to and now MUST use, this camera will not do.

I should've returned this camera while I had the chance.

  4. this camera was better than i expected. easy to use. and takes nice pictures. small size. exactly what i was looking for. seller was terrific also. for my daughter. she loved it.

  5. The photos are poorly lit with nitida, clear and spectacular widescreen format also is indicated for my LCD TV is a compact camera, thin and incredible, I would buy a thousand times more

  1. I carefully researched and compared before I bought this camera - my 1st digital. I thought it would be a good camera for the price, but boy have I been wrong. I have only had it a little over a year. 6 months after I bought it the flash stopped working properly. Sometimes the flash would be so bright you cannot see the pictures and sometimes it would be too dark. Darker than taking a picture without the flash. Sometimes it would work, but very rarely. Now, 13 months after I've had the camera the zoom function has completely stopped working. In fact, if I even try to move it - it prompts me to turn off power and turn on again.

I'm just going to have to buy a new camera. What a waste of $200+!!

I would not recommend this model to anyone. This is my first Sony camera and I will definitely not be buying this brand again.

  2. Highy recommend ! I have one of this my self and
2 other are gifts for my closed friends.

  3. I got this camera in March. It's my second digital camera, I lost my first one, but had been thinking about getting a new one for awhile. I have been very disappointed with the testiness of this camera. First off, I had it as a bar and someone dropped about 5 drops of a drink on it and the zoom function refused to work. Eventually that cleared up. Then, I brought the camera to the beach and the lens would not stay open-- the camera would read "access, please power on and power off". Apparently you are not supposed to expose the camera to sand. My old camera was at the beach 6 times a summer and never had an issue. I took the camera to the repair shop and after a $25 estimate was told that it would take $125 to fix a $175 camera. Frustrated, I took a can of forced air and managed to clear the sand out of the lens. If I had to do it again, I would not buy this camera. I have had nothing but problems. The picture quality is a bit better, but its not the pain it has caused me.

  4. This camera is amazing... for the price you pay the quality is fantastic and I would buy one again and again!

  5. I bought this camera last december for an incredible price, it's a wonderful camera, worthy the money I paid for it BUT...you need to be warned, today my camera just stop working for no apparent reason, when I turn on the camera the lens come out and go back at least 3 times, an "access" legend appears on the screen and finally the camera starts beeping and says turn off and turn on again, you can go and see the stored pictures but you can't take pictures anymore.

The reason I am warning you is because while searching ways to fix it I learned that this is a very common problem with this camera, SONY needs to take care of this issue.

  1. I got this for my daughter as a grad gift. It takes really good pictures. Made me wonder why I use my big expensive Canon 30D. It has really cool features that my daughter and her friends find fun to use.

  2. This is my second Cybershot. I bought my first one over 5 years ago and it still takes great pictures, however I wanted a new camera because technology has changed so much. Since I really liked my old camera I wanted another Cybershot. My new model Cybershot takes great pictures and has many features yet it's still easy to use. I highly recommend this camera.

  3. I got this item two days after I ordered it and since then its been my new buddy.

  4. I bought this camera to replace an aging Kodak Z730. I wanted a compact camera that would take great pictures with a decent optical zoom (this one has 5X) and an eyepiece viewer. This camera (the DSC-W150) seemed to have everything I was looking for. On the large Sony LCD my pictures look spectacular (clear, sharp, etc.), but when I connect the camera to my computer or bring the memory card to a store to print pictures, the quality of my pictures changes dramatically for the worse. The pictures from the Sony camera come out unclear, blurry, etc. My old Kodak camera takes much better pictures than this Sony one does.
All I can say is buyer beware on this camera.

  5. I bought this camera as a birthday present for my son, and he tells me that it takes great pictures. I cannot give a better review because I am not using it myself, but he's happy with it, and the pictures that he emailed me look great. I might consider buying another one for my other son.

  1. My wife and I recently upgraded from our Sony DSC-P8 to a Sony DSC-W130. So far we are extremely happy. We shopped around quite a bit before settling on the new cybershot, and spent a good deal of time trying out other brands. In the end, the Smile Shutter brought us back to Sony. It sounds like there is no way it would work, but it really does. We have two young children that are remarkably hard to catch smiling. With the new Sony, all we have to do is turn on the smile shutter and the camera does the rest. So far, we haven't missed a smile with the 3 year (with teeth) and have caught a few of the 4 month old (no teeth). It makes a difference.

The other feature that has been great so far is the burst mode. With my old camera, the missing time between shot resulted in a lot of blurring. The new camera manages to focus each shot much better. We played around with some moving targets, and the pictures came out great. One major drawback of burst mode, however, is that you can't use flash. I took a bunch of pictures indoors and the quality was ok, but not great. The flash just turns off when you switch to burst mode.

The video recording is great on this camera. Obviously not camcorder quality or anything, but very good for what you'd expect from a point and shoot. The sound quality still isn't that great, but much much better from my older camera. It seems like it balances the audio in the first few seconds. If the first few seconds are loud, the whole video will be softer. If you start out soft, however, you bury the needle when it gets lounder leading to some distortion. You also can't zoom while in video mode - something they don't tell you.

The flash recharges after about 1-2 seconds, which is great. It also is pretty effective for long distances.

I like the menu configurations, especially now that I've had some time to play with them.

Picture quality is great, but I'm upgrading from a 2MP camera, so it probably wouldn't take too much to wow me. We took a ton of shots and were impressed at the level of detail when we zoomed in on our computer.

Overall, we are very happy with this camera. It has some limitations and problems, but for the money (and for being a point and shoot) it is great.

  2. It's small, easy to handle it. Good looking and very light. I love it! I'll try to upload a video as soon as I can...

  3. This camera is so powerful and user friendly. I enjoy the fact that it tells you without you having to guess what each feature does by spelling it out on the screen.

  4. One of the best things I have ever bought!
Lo mejor que he comprado este año!

  5. This Sony Cybershot out performs similar cameras and is a great value. The photos are clear and crisp. The camera software and menus are easy to use and very helpful. I highly recommend this product!

  1. This is a great little camera. I especially like the viewfinder, so that in sunlight, you can see your subjects easier. I purchased a Canon Powershot A720 IS, but sent it back, as the viewfinder and actual view were miles out. Unacceptable by Canon's standards I believe. This Sony is more expnsive, but a better performer. Thr viewfinder is not perfect, but more accurate than the Canon. One doesn't expect single lens reflex standards, but the Sony is good. Using the viewfinder, you need to get as much as you can in the view itself though. The camera manual is only on the CD, but there is a brief version in paper. The sensor seems pretty good tp me, and the preview screen has a high refersh rate (I believe that is the correct saying...) Lastly, this fits in your pocket, yet still gives a great performance.

  2. Got this a few weeks ago and have been busy trying out my new camera...it is fantastic, takes awesome pictures, is so easy to use, small enough to fit in a pocket or purse, batteries stay charged for a long time (something that was a big feature). I love love love it!

  3. This camera has tons of ingeneous features. My favousite is the smile feature, lots of my friends do not smile for pictures and now I create goofy smiles on them. Also the setting that takes the pictures automatically once the person in the picture smiles is great. I love the huge screen. I was very impressed with the technology.
Down-side:I am not a gadget/ technology person and did not know I had to purchase a memory card with the camera. It is a little thicker than I thought, but no big problem.
I love my camera and all the avaiable accessories for it.

  4. I recently purchased this Sony Cybershot model. This camera is amazing in every way. The pictures come out crystal clear and bright on the camera and computer. I took a picture of a bee on a flower and set it as my desktop. The picture is so clear and vibrant, even enlarged, that I can't help but stare. Even I, an impatient teenager, have no problems with shutter lag. I snapped pictures of road signs from a moving car on the high way and still managed to get clear and readable signs. I have nothing to complain about. The only thing is, I would suggest purchasing a second battery, as this fun to use camera will have you snapping away. Before you know it the battery is gone. Also the charger that comes with it is untimely sluggish. No complaints about the camera. Sony has made perfection.

  5. I am a realtor who has spent nearly 5 weeks testing cameras to use that can fit rooms into one shot. I have 4 sony cameras. H3 W70 p10 and the touch screen N1 which is my personal favorite. I am a sony guy, but I needed a 28mm wide angle camera. I tried the Panasonic tz5 and the Panasonic fx35 which is a 25mm wide camera but has no zoom. I went to Best Buy to buy the Tz5 for 350.00. I told the salesgirl that I wish Sony made a wide angle camera and she said "they do!" My descion was that I would try it since I already had 2 extra BG-1 batterys (which work for all the new sony's) and memory sticks so I saved on the extras. I bought the W170 on the spot went home and took some photos of a couple of rooms at my home. WOW!!! I can tell you right now that this will replace my N1 and my H3. Too bad it does not have the touch screen like the N1 but, the 1st 40 pictures printed so nice that I am willing to wait until Sony builds me a wide angle camera with a touch screen.
