5 comments about Samsung Maxima 105 GL QD Zoom Date 35mm Camera.
- I got this camera just recently and must say that it is exactly what it appears to be - a good camera for a price that won't have you cringing when you get the bill - I tried out a few "zoom" cameras before this, and I was much more impressed with the zoom in this camera (it was very smooth whereas the others tended to be slightly jerky). The camera itself is also very user friendly.
- I read prior reviews of the Samsung 105 where complaints of missed shots were made. My Samsung 105 GLM was bought & tested by me before this review. I'd had two automatic tiny point & shoots including a non-zoom Konica (a heckuva fine camera, too) that was used by my wife for about a dozen years. I'd learned to depress the shutter button halfway for a split second to allow preset commands and auto focus to work properly and never had a missed shot even on a jet boat in Hell's Canyon white water! This is in the Samsung manual!
My experience with the S-105 GLM proved it to be a solid- if tiny & pocket sized, full-featured quality device for comparatively little money. No, I am not in any camera business nor am I affiliated with Samsung or Amazon, but I have been a camera semi-pro for much of my 80 years! My work had been used, too, in many court cases when I was sworn.
- I took this on a trip down the Rhine with a friend. She had her Cannon EOS Rebel 2000 and I gotta tell you, all my shots came out much better than hers and I paid $200.00 less! The colors were more vivid, the shots were sharp and in perfect focus, even the zoom shots.
My mother used this camera at my wedding and her shots came out better than the photographers! And she usually takes horrible pictures! (She can consistently get her thumb in every shot!) What a great camera. However..... The lens cover tends to stick open and I am afraid the lens will get scratched. Also, it doesn't have the night portrait mode and I really thing that is a great mode to have for travel.
- I absolutely love this camera. I paid $170 3 years ago and it was a great investment. I have never had any problems with it. The zoom is the best feature about this camera. I've been able to take some awesome pictures of the moon with 1600 speed film. Great camera!

5 comments about Samsung Digimax L77 7.1MP Digital Camera with 7x Advance Shake Reduction Optical Zoom.
- Took the camera to France for 8 days on it's maiden voyage. Took over 700 photos at 3Megapixel setting on one 2 GB card. No problems using auto or any specific programable setting. Small size makes it easy to carry around and have handy at any time. One wish I have is that user could select a preference for flash on or off when set on auto. As it is default programmed, you must turn flash off, or it will flash if light condions favor flash use.
- Camera seems to do it all. A lot of useful features for the price. The 7x optical zoom is amazing!
- I purchased the Cannon Digimax L77 for my wife at Christmas. It had great reviews from Consumer Reports and is a steadfast consumer name in electronics and photography. The camera takes great pictures and has quick successive shots. It came with the A.C. charger for its tiny battery. The only real problem I see with it is that I couldn't find any D.C. or car chargers for the battery. It would be nice to have a system for the car where you could plug the entire camera into the power outlet in the car and charge the battery in the unit instead of having to take that tiny battery out to plug it into a charger ( I can just see that little battery rolling around the floor of the car while trying to install the battery into the car charger, going over some bumpy roads.) I looked on Samsung's site and found no such devices for their camera. Now I wished I had stuck with the Cannon Elf's I have purchased for all my kids. Now, that's a great little camera with great features and accessories !
- I've had this camera for a month now and it's been good to me so far. It's user friendly. My six year old knows how to use it. I haven't tried all the features yet but the ones I've tried has been satisfactory.
I don't know about the shake reduction part cause the pictures I took when I shook still came out semi blury. The other feature I didn't really like was the time it took between shutters but the camera did snap the pictures up before everyone moved. I guess I just gotta get used to it cause before this one, I had a Kodak Share and it was the bomb. But it was very bulky (& it got stolen). This time I wanted something I could carry in my purse without the bulk & weight.
The other thing that I liked about this is that I can just use one hand when snapping a picture. Like when I'm driving and I catch a beautiful sunset. The display is so huge that I don't have to really focus on what I'm trying to capture while driving. (don't try that if you're not experienced, lol). Yeah, so over all, very good! Oh and the price is sooooo right!
Another thing is that the Consumer report rated this item a "CR best buy". With that you can't go wrong.
- I ordered this camera after reading many reviews from others that have purchased this camera. When I got it I was happy with it's size and quality however...you can't buy an extra battery ANYWHERE! I brought it in to many different camera stores and nobody even heard of the camera. And all the paperwork that comes with the camera didn't even provide you with a place to order extra batteries. I even went to the Samsung website and this camera wasn't on there...how could this not be on their site? Needless to say I returned this item ASAP!

5 comments about Samsung SC-D365 MiniDV Camcorder with 33x Optical Zoom.
- The camcorder does not have remote control but there is a battery in the box with remote control written on it. You can not copy the recorded movies on the camputer. other than that it is easy to use abd sufficient.
- I am not yet totally familiar with the operation of the Camcorder as I have only used it a couple of times. I seems to work as it should. I have had trouble with the Light. According to the manual, the light shoud come on when you push the record button and go off when you stop recording but the light stays on as long as the camera is on. Also, once you go in and change items in the menu like 16:9 Wide to OFF. The next time you turn the camera on you have to change it again. On the second day I filmed, I got a lot of static in the sound. Maybe my problems has to do with the fact that I am not totally familiar with the camcorder yet. I will give another review after I use the camcorder for a while.
- This camcorder has a extremeley noisy cassette chasis mechanism, it is
a very annoying and a intermittent problem. Other than that this camera
is satifactory, I believe it is over priced for the quality of the video,
especially recording low light conditions.
- this is the worst camcorder i've ever owned.the picture quality is the worst.i can't get a clear picture unless i focus at one distance.if i move a little,or something moves in the picture it goes out of focus.i haven't got one decent video with this piece of garbage yet. i recommend panasonic,it was the last camera i owned and every picture was crystal clear.it's my fault i didn't do my research before i bought this.
- I won this camera in a contest and now I'm kinda wishing I never had. Practically everything I've shot with this thing has turned out bad in some way or another. From the autofocus that can never decide what it wants to focus on, to the very poor image quality in slightly low lighting situations, to the camera recording glitches in the audio when I capture onto my computer. I know you may look at this thing and feel like the price is right, but I really suggest you just hold out a little while longer to save up a bit more and buy a Canon camera that's not gonna cause you these problems.

5 comments about Samsung Digimax L700 7MP Digital Camera with 3x Advance Shake Reduction Optical Zoom (Black).
- Like a said, Samsung made me to choose something really good, something really cheap and nice for this funny price.
I think Sony's camera are very nice and better, but you really need to have a good budget for buy something good.
This camera it's fantastic, the shape, the design, the functionallity, well I think its great!
For this price you will not find something better than this.
Some pages review this camera: BAD, DISSAPOINTED, or any negative review but I think they don't know nothing.
GO ON, BUY IT !!!!!!!!!
JAQ
- Well built and campact. Len is Samsung NV len and LCD has 230k pixels! Photos are nice and sharp and MPEG4 videos are excellent. 4GB can store 3 hours of video at smooth 640x480@30fps. My 6-year old uses the movie recorder a lot, that just shows you how easy it is to use. Battery life is decent. It easily beats other more expensive digicam.
- I've bought several Samsung items and I'm impressed with the quality. That's why I believed this was a good product and yes!, it is....
The image quality is great, the Super fine mode with 7.2 MP is really working. I need this camera for real close shots to images and this camera really helped me.
I really recomend it! and also you will save a lot of money by buying this camera instead of another brand with double price and same or worst quality.
In short words, EXCELLENT CAMERA...
- I think I got what I pay for.the only problem I had with it is: it does not have manual focusing. every thing else about it is perfect.
I had a old samsung Digimax V5 and that had manual focusing that's why I bought Samsung again. but still I am satisfy with my purchase
- I am not surprised in reading the reviews - all five (5) stars! Best buy for the money. Excellent photo quality - much better than I expected. Samsung holds fast to its reputation. They make good products. Only minor complaint is that the LCD monitor is hard to see in the sun - but I can live with that for the results! Highly recommend this easy-to-use camera.

5 comments about Samsung Digimax A402 4MP Digital Camera with 4x Digital Zoom (Black).
- I finally had enough extra money to upgrade to a better digital camera, and I got rid of this peice of junk as quickly as I could. I managed to sell it to some poor unsuspecting soul on the internet, my boyfriend wanted it if it was going to be cheap but I didn't have it in me to rip him off like that.
This is a terrible camera. I bought it in January 2006 because it was cheap and I had a Samsung phone so I trusted the brand, but it quickly went into a downward spiral.
It has no redeeming qualities: the battery life is horrible. The picture quality is horrible- every shot is blurry unless you are outside under optimal lighting conditions and you are in possession of a four leaf clover. The internal memory is horrible. The only reason I hung onto it for as long as I did is because I am a poor college student and tuition usually takes priority over everything else.
The final straw was when I took it to Japan over the summer and ended up missing out on lots of great shots because of all the shortcomings this camera is saddled with. Not even halfway through the trip I rented a Nikon L12, and the rest of my trip was very well documented. That is the camera I ended up replacing this one with, as I was very satisfied with its performance.
Do NOT, I repeat, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! Spend the extra $20-30 on a decent camera that will go the distance. This one will do nothing but disappoint time and time again.
- This camera takes good pictures in bright light, otherwise don't waste your time. The pictures are pretty hit or miss. I commend Samsung for offering a camera at this price point and it's durable. This is a good camera to have handy b/c it's $100 and is better than getting the disposable variety. It's a point and shoot, let's not forget.
- We bought this camera about 25 months ago and have been mostly happy with it. Money is tight, so the expensive camera's were not an option, and our old digital camera broke. It is fairly easy to use and does movies too. The quality is less than my mom's more expensive camera - but it works fine for us. It is small enough to easily tuck into my purse next to my cell phone. Our only complaint is that the off on button doesn't work very well anymore. We have a paperclip attatched to the string to aid in turning it on and off. It does a reasonalble job with batteries - the cheaper AA's will last about 30 minutes - the ultra ones for electronics will last 6-10 hours depending on what you do with it. I've bought rechargable AA's and used them also - I get about 2 hours with them - overall, we like this camera.
- Hello, I bought this camera four years ago as of last week from walmart. It still works just like the day i bought it. Just too bad that that is bad.
BAD CAMERA
EVERY PIC BLURRY
- I just recently purchased a new camera because after three years, my Digimax A402 is on its way out, now. I'm a little sad to see it go because it's been a good little camera for the most part, although it performed poorly in certain low-light situations.
I dropped it on a stone-covered grave in Tombstone, AZ (that was probably about hot enough to fry an egg on at the time) about two years ago at a height of about four or five feet when I nearly fell over a young kid whose parents were allowing to follow me around. Except for a small scratch on the lens it came through the experience functioning just fine.
But now, apparently simply due to age, it's stopped functioning normally. It thinks its batteries are low even when they're fresh, is not adjusting to light, and is taking very blurry pictures.
Still, it took good photos for more than a year (probably closer to two) after being dropped, which is more than I expected in the moments after it actually happened.
Pros: Has a good bit of internal storage, takes nice clear photos, is very compact, is very easy to use, has a landscape mode that takes great outdoor photos, and survived a heck of a fall.
Cons: Was over-priced considering the features (no optical zoom, only a digital zoom, only 4 mega pixels), has a soft LCD screen, flashes three times in any flash-using mode (sounds like no big deal but it can be irritating, especially in my favorite setting - concerts, and drains the batteries), has a looong shutter delay, and does not do well in low light.
MAJOR WARNING about the flash and low-light situations: If you turn off your flash in portrait mode, or use a low-light mode, the shutter delay becomes positively interminable because the shutter speed is slowed, which it does automatically. Because most of the photos I take are at concerts this is totally unacceptable. You have to hold incredibly still to take a photo that isn't severely blurred and your subject can't move for several seconds (I counted a shutter delay of over five seconds.)
Leaving the flash on is often not an option because if you have a crowd in front of you you're going to get a better photo of the back of their heads than of the stage. This became infuriating and is for me probably the camera's biggest drawback. I eventually found a solution to this problem... electrical tape over the flash. The camera functioned much better in concert situations with this little improvement. However, I never found my makeshift solution acceptable. A fast shutter speed (which is sluggish even at its best) in low light should definitely be an option on this particular camera but it is not.
Recomended for: People who need a compact, durable, easy-to-use camera mostly in outdoor situations (where it excels) or indoor situations where a flash is acceptable. A good camera for a family.
NOT recomended for: Anyone who wants to be able to take detailed photos of far-away objects or in dark conditions, or anyone who wants to be able to closely control their camera's settings. Concert and club goers take note: this camera may not be for you.

5 comments about Samsung Digimax S800 8.1 MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom (Silver).
- This is our second Samsung Digital Camera. The first one broken within weeks - lens would get stuck, zoom wouldn't work, and you could not take any pictures. When it would 'freeze' the only solution was to shut down, and restart. Then the photo-op was gone.
The camera was a Christmas gift for our daughter, and I didn't want her to have to deal with these issues.
We took the camera back to the store, and because it was just after Christmas the store was out of most of their digital cameras. The gave us a store credit, and we later upgraded to the Samsung Digimax S800 8.1 mp. It was a bit more than the 5.0 mp, but it seemed like an incredible deal.
Now less than 6 month later, the same problem, and more. The lens stays in the fully extended position now, and runs down the batteries, and if you try to adjust the zoom the camera shuts off. There is no stop/start solution. It is now a paper weight.
I was just informed it is too late to return it or exchange it. Do not be fooled by this 'Steal' , you'll just be robbed $200 like me.
- It's a good price. It doesn't initially seem as good as other cameras, because it seems like it has less functions, but if you play around with it you find a lot of cool stuff to do with it. Also, when its on your computer the quality is great. I could see the contacts inside my eye in one of my pictures, thats how much detail it picks up on. Unfortunately when I tried to take a picture of a praying mantis, there is no focus option and I couldn't get a clear view of something so small.
besides it's lack of focus on small objects, the only other downfall is it's fragility. I recommend you don't drop it. My friend dropped hers and it will barely turn back on. I dropped mine once and sometimes it shuts off while I'm taking a picture.
But the quality of the prints I get is amazing, it looks almost professional, especially with it's black and white and sepia converters. Also there are some goofy settings in there for those who are amused easily, such as frames and fake hair and whatnot. You'll see if you buy it.
It's really good, for those who don't want to spend so much money.
You can still be creative.
I recommend it. Just don't drop it.
- What's up everyone, it's your boy, Emko. This camera is a great value, 8.1MP around $100, is outstanding. The videos it takes are fantastic, easily watched on your PC or TV, and you can even take pictures or video while you watch what you're doing on the TV! Take the time to read the manual, you can make adjustments (like taking close-ups, adjusting the ISO, etc.) that will make all the difference in the world and would negate most of the problems people have with this camera. A little bit of reading and you can take pictures like the pros. Don't take my word for it, I'm just Emko, try it for yourself.
- I purchased this camera in August of 2007. This is the second Digimax camera that I have owned. I am truly happy with my purchase. I definitely agree with some of the other reviews that it is necessary to have rechargeable batteries, but otherwise the camera works good, and also takes pretty good videos.
One drawback that I have found with the camera is the lag time it takes to snap the pictures. Sometimes when taking pics of impatient kids, they move around before the flash, and then it distorts the pic. Other than that, I don't have any complaints, and I would definitely recommend this camera for purchase.
- Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R3C1WNPSYYYARC What can I say, just google for samsung s800 stuck lens.
This is a very low quality, fragile camera, I wouldnt recommend it.

5 comments about Samsung SC-X300L Flash Memory Divx Camcorder with 10x Optical Zoom and Wired External Camera.
- It's a cool, little, fun camera but the image quality isn't mind-blowing. It's perfect for action, sports, etc.
I wish they had launched the wireless version of this camcorder, the cable is a pain.
- Others are correct that is does not come with internal memory, but still the camera is great. Fits in your pocket, records almost two hours on a 4GB card, and the picture is very good quality. The external camera works great and with the remote on it allows you to put the camera in a safe place while doing action sports. I have used it to record several things on my bike with great success. I would definitely buy this again.
- If you think this little 350 dollar job is gonna give you the same image quality as the canon xl2, or that it will be your only way to capture all those precious family memories i would suggest you keep on looking...now that "those" people have moved on...... The SC-x300L is nothing more than a fun little toy. If you have owned a cell phone or video camera since Reagan you shouldn't have any problems with the function or navigation for simple operations. The video quality is ok --samsungs website has all the info you need- sub for tv but great for web or if your a whiz w/ final cut it should be fine. The physical construction of the camera seems cheap and weak and i was originally a little reluctant to man-handle this unit but after being attached to my motorcycle and surviving a 90mph low-side that did a grip of damage to my bike i've since changed my mind. ((i've also taken it on wet and muddy trails -motocross- and it survived a nice little impact with a rock and my hip)) Overall if you are looking for a good helmet camera this is your best bet for the sub 800 price.
The bad: sound quality (wind noise) on external camera. no native mac support (do a little google search and you'll find a nice individual that has written a little converter program that work like a charm)
- PROS: The camera is awesome for video. High resolution excellent quality and the "anti-shake" feature is the best I have seen. If you want VIDEO ONLY this is an excellent choice.
CONS:
1. NO internal memory was built into the unit that I bought. As far as I am concerned that is false advertising.
2. It will function as an MP3 player, video recorder, voice recorder, and external hard drive, BUT IT WON'T TAKE STILL PHOTOS?!?! I simply do not understand the marketing decision behind that. It would have to be a simple software/firmware adjustment in order to make it function as a camera but the brain trust at Samsung felt it more marketable to include MP3 functionality or even better, voice recording? As if I am going to leave myself voice memo's with it? Now I have to carry a second device if I want photos and I am not going to drop my iPod in favor of using a video camera to listen to music.
3. Battery life is not that great.
In conclusion I would give this 5 stars if it handled still photos and came with the advertised 1GB internal memory.
UPDATE: You CAN in fact take still photographs with this camera. See Below for instructions.
Taking Still Pictures
* You have to set the mode switch to the MEMORY CARD position to use the camcorder as a Digital Still Camera.
* Audio cannot be recorded with a still image onto the Memory Card
* Images are compressed in JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group) format.
* The number of pixels are 640x480 unless you change the image quality (see below)
Inserting The Memory Card
1. Turn the Power switch to OFF.
2. Insert the Memory Card in the direction of the arrow into the Memory Card slot located on the bottom of the camcorder.
Recording images to a Memory Card
1. Set the mode switch to MEMORY CARD.
2. Set the power switch to CAMERA.
3. Press the PHOTO button.
The still image is recorded to the Memory Card.
Note: While the camcorder is recording the still image, appears on the screen.
Selecting Image Quality
* You can select the quality of a still image to be recorded.
1. Set the mode switch to MEMORY CARD.
2. Set the power switch to the CAMERA mode.
3. Press the MENU button. The menu list will appear.
4. Turn the MENU DIAL to highlight MEMORY.
5. Press the ENTER button to enter the sub-menu.
6. Turn the MENU DIAL to highlight PHOTO QUALITY in the submenu.
7. Press the ENTER button.
8. Using the MENU DIAL, select the image quality. Press the ENTER button to confirm the image quality.
If you exit the sub-menu without pressing the ENTER button, the quality mode is not changed.
9. To exit, press the MENU button.
- Yes, there are multiple versions of this camera out there. This seems to be a huge problem. The one I purchased does not take stills, does not have the built in LED flash, or the 2gb on board flash memory as described on the web site I purchased it from. This is false advertisement. Buyer beware. As far as how the camcorder operates, read the other threads. I only gave it one star because of false advertisement.

5 comments about Samsung Digimax L73 7MP Digital Camera with 3x Advance Shake Reduction Optical Zoom (Black).
- For a point and shoot camera at at very reasonable price the L73 is a proven winner. I have now bought two of these after being disappointed with another product.
- awesome...way better than my old one... takes crisp pictures especially scenery and text... might be better ones out there but this one is pretty darn good
- The camera is os far a good camera, decent batt, nice pics
decent value overall
My first camera came obivously open used and .....broken the zoom was stuck open
JR took their sweet time approving the return even though they were negligent......whatever
eventually they made good and gave me a nice brand new one
i'm happy now
- I think this camera is awesome for the price. I have tested or owned a bunch of point-and-shoot digital cameras, including a really nice Canon, Panosonic, Nikon, Sony, Casio, Kodak, HP, GE, and several Samsungs. For the money, this is the best of all of them - as I said, weighing price against quality. For some reason, this very well-made and solid camera, in my opinion, has gotten a mixed review - maybe it has too many cool things that it does - I don't know. But it takes great pictures. I think it might be a bit inimidating for the point-and-shoot crowd, because it has all these programmable functions - but that's all I can think of. I give this camera 5 stars all the way.
- We purchased this during the Christmas sales from Tigerdirect. I used it for about 2 months without any problem. Then one day the lens stuck open and the screen went black. Power turned off. Tried removing the battery and replacing. Battery was charged up to full and still would not work. Zip, Zero response. About a week later I picked it up because I noticed the lens had retracted. Camera was not on. I turned it on and it worked fine. Then about 3 weeks later I used it again and was playing back the pictures on the screen when it did the same thing again. I recharged the battery to full and while hooked up to the computer I was able to turn it on and the lens retracted. But after a full charge it still will not turn on. Even connected to the computer it will not turn on. I have researched the Samsung site but nothing is mentioned about this problem. I did find the E18 error code that is associated to Canon cameras and the symptoms are the same except for the lack of the E18 code on the screen. In hindsight I wish I had purchased one a little more expensive that did not have this problem. I am in the process of trying to get a RMA for warranty repair. But if they are like Canon it will be a user error or misuse even though the camera is kept in a camera case and has not been abused at all. Wish we had spent another $50 and got a Sony.

5 comments about Samsung Digimax L730 7.2MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom (Silver).
- If you read my previous digicam review, you'll know that I am no stranger to consumer digicam. This Samsung L730 is my eleventh digicam, and I am very happy with it due to these 4 factors:
1) Price is very reasonable (I bought it for only US$156.5 in Nov 07)
2) Video quality is very, very good (it does MP4 video, slow and steady hand required).
3) Nightshot/low-light shot are good.
4) It has a manual option. Not full blown manual, but enough for prosumer.
Overall built is good, but of medium quality. Design wise is similar to other cameras in the higher price range plus some added improvements (sound & light notification, I thinks it's neat and thoughtful). The USB charge cable is also nicely designed, where it has charging light built into the Samsung propietary connector. Although, battery door is a little flimsy. If you decide to carry the digicam in its purse, you need to pull it out by the lanyard when you want to take it out, otherwise you will unlatch the batt-door when you grab it by the top and bottom sides.
Another negative point that a would be buyer should be aware of, is the action time to turn on and to shoot are, in my opinion, noticeably slower than other digicams that I've used.
Other than that, everything else is perfect. I would highly recommend this camera for:
1) People who appreciate value for the money.
2) People looking for high quality video camera (I chose this over Sanyo Xacti due to the fact that L730 does MP4 video in 800*600 pixel resolution in 20 fps. I don't see other affordable CCD-based digicam who can do this at the time of the writing).
P.S. Battery life has not been checked, since I just got this camera 3 days ago.
I used to be a fan of SONY products until they steadily increase their consumer products prices. IMHO: SAMSUNG is the New Sony in term of product quality and design (but with more reasonable prices).
- I bought this for my son for Christmas. He uses it a lot, because it is easy to use and not too bulky. Good pictures, though a little trouble with the balance on flash pictures.
- You will never be unhappy for what you spend on this camera.
perfectly designed pocket size,
Picture quality is amazing,
Video quality and audio is just perfect
Very good battery life
Red eye reduction is very handy right in the camera
