- works great, cheap price. i thinks its a great deal. good pictures, easy to use. the batteries from dollar store don't work well, you have to buy 'good batteries'
- I LOVE this camera. I have had it now for about 2 or 3 years. It has held up amazingly. That poor camera has been dropped, gotten wet, banged around in my purse(with no case) and still takes pictures as good as the day I got it. The price was very affordable. I would recomend camera to anyone.
- I purchased this at walmart two years ago. All in all it was an alright camera, but I had some problems with it.
Pros:
-I liked how you could choose to take pictures in different hues such as black and white, sepia, blue, red, and green.
- The camera is small, so it fits just about anywhere.
- The colors ( I have black) are nice, I would have chosen red, but they were out of stock.
-The price is good. It was about $99.00 when I purchased it, and I'm sure it has gone down since then.
Cons:
-The zoom goes up to 5.0, which is alright, but most of the pictures I took with zoom came out very blurry, and even with extra editing they were still a little unclear.
- Maybe it's just the color, but the black seemed to have rubbed off in places, and left white smudges. I tried to color over with them with permanent marker, but it wiped off after a few days.
- If you get this camera I suggest you buy a set of rechargeable batteries. The camera sucks regular one-time use batteries dry, and it was annoying to keep buying more batteries after a short period of time.
All in all it was an alright camera, but not the best.
- Payed a little and received two great extras (rechargable batteries and a 2 GB SD Card). Works great.
- Very satisfied with the product, love the quality of the camera and the size. Takes great pictures.

- I just got this camera and didn't have much time to play with it so I can't write a detailed review, but I thought it warranted noting about the video portion of the camera because I didn't see it in any of the other raving reviews. When you zoom while videoing you lose all sound. This stinks. I depend on my camera for all videoing of my kids. I don't have a camcorder. I take video of my kid's school performances constantly, most of which involve singing and music. So, when I noticed this issue with the video sound I immediately packed it up and am returning it. I can't have the sound just cutting in and out when I'm zooming for a close-up. Also, the zoom is only 5x. I currently have a Canon S2 IS which blows this camera away with 12x zoom. The only reason I wanted a new camera is because the Canon is so big and bulky. I wanted to have a camera that would fit easily in my purse so I could have it with me always. Not worth the sacrifice though. I'll stick with my big Canon.
- I bought my L73 about 6 months ago and i have nothing but good to say about it!! It takes wonderful pictures, i especially love the "ASR" Auto Shake Reduction feature. As sometimes you know its hard to be steady at sporting events etc. The software that comes with it is very easy and self read. As far as battery life goes to me it is awsome as well. This is my 3rd digital camera as i have ad a hp, a fuji and now this Samsung and this one wins by far!! Anyways I would not hesitate for one minute to reccomend for someone to purchase this camera!!

- I just recently bought this camera since the one i'v had for the past 5 years decided to break on me.
When I took this item out of its box the first thing I noticed was that it wasn't some cheap basically throw it away in the next year or so camera. It's very durable and is the most simple camera I have ever owned. The film loading is a snap and the zoom feature is really cool. This is a great camera for taking snap shots and to take on a trip with you because its not big and bulky. I paid $49 for it and for the price I think it is well worth the money.

- I purchased this camera for ~$400 and primarily because I thought that it has USB port, memory stick and MPEG4 movie recording capability, but these capabilities are severely limited. You can only record 10-20 sec on the memory stick because it can take max 32 MB. If you use higher mem then it gives format error. The USB, MPEG4 interfaces are limited to recordings that you store on the Memory stick, so not much of a use of these features. The IEEE 1394 port is also 4 pin and would not work with 6 pin, so you got to be careful there.
Other than that, for recording it has a pretty ok capabilities. I would say it's an ok camera. Maybe I am disappointed that I can't use it with my PC as I hoped to.
- I got this camcorder for a Christmas present. I have to say its a very good camcorder. It has sharp video, built in light, and night vision. The audio is very crisp, and is good for storing memories. You can take snapshots and record them to video, with sound. You can put in a memory stick and take stills, then transfer them to your computer via firewire, or USB. The battery charges in about 2 hours which is very fast. The only downtime is that it would be cool to have a 20 X optical zoom, but 10 X is powerful enough. I would recomend this camcorder to anyone. You can't beat this amazon price! I hope to keep this for years to come!
Bill.
- This camera is excellent on those who are on budget and film mostly outside. Why do I say mostly outside? Because the video quality under low indoor light conditions is very bad. There is lots of noise on shadowy indoor areas. And since most amateurs and home videos are shot without really having a single though on how the light will be, the results will not be good. You'll need tons of light indoor to eliminate the grainyness. Whats even worse is that even in medium indoor lighting conditions look grainy. This grainyness, or color noise, probably has to do with the camera having 1 CCD (Which most consumer cameras have) and the insensitivity of the CCD. So it usually uses electronic gain when shotting with low light, and getting a camera to use electronic gain depends on its CCD signal to noise ratio. This camera has a bit of problems with tapes. I once used Panasonic DVC tapes, and 40 minutes into recording it said tape end! This was unbelieveable. Then once I used Fuji film, and believe it or not it said tape end within 2 minutes of recording and I was surprised. I played it back and stopped where the footage stopped and it recorded normally again. This is probably not the tape's fault but the cameras. The only tape I did not have any problems with is TDK, so USE TDK for this camera. The sound quality is good, and high fidelity sound. Uses standard PCM/48khz/16 bit. The picture quality outside is great, although sometimes it exposes too much and manual exposure needs to be used but generally it does a good job at auto. The features the camcorder has are great especially A/V/S-video IN to capture from other source. Night vision is cool, although short distance. I wouldn't rely on still pix they are low resolution. The LCD is nice although the DPI is low. Another great thing is that it works with my Power MAC and there is stereo microphone input which makes audio sound even better. Nonetheless this camcorder is really good considering the features it has. Simply a little thought in indoor lighting will go a long way. You can buy a cheap 625 watt sun gun on ebay, although inversatile still a good start.
- I received this camcorder as a gift, and although the footage I've shot has been good quality, I cannot download it on to my PC. I have a brand new PC and it appears the driver that came with the camcorder is not compatible with XP Media Center. I've attempted to contact Samsung to confirm these allegations but they will not return my calls or emails. So I've got hours of raw Mini DV footage that I can't edit on my computer. What's the point??? Needless to say, I'll be buying a new Mini DV camcorder soon, and it will not be Samsung. So far Panasonic has my vote.
- I bought this camera by all the reviews I read and it seemded like a great buy. I am very happy with it but the extra expense of firewire and capture hardware was $65. Thought I'd be able to upload via USB. Only still pictures upload with the USB> Movies go vai Firewire. It was easy to install and very easy to upload and then you are watching it on your computer and not a TV. Other than the additional purchase of the capture card which I guess all digital camcorders require it is a wonderful unit and fits well in your hand!!

- Samsung Digimax L830 8.1MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom (Red)
I LOVE THIS ITEM SO MUCH!
arrived in great time I didn't even expect this to come this soon.
Actual camera is prettier than the picture!
Works great! Overall I really like this I used Sony camera before
but this is def better. You can change picture's colors and everything
I love it and price was even better !!!
- The L830 is a great product for the price. Previously I had a Samsung Digimax i6 and LOVED it so I tried to replace it with something similar or better. The L830 has lived up to my expectations of a great Samsung product. Its pictures are easy to take, clear and with brilliant color.
- This is a good camera especially for the price. Image quality does suffer a bit from the price and I don't like the proprietary cord connections. The charger is proprietary and the data cable to download the pictures is. In this day and age, I think most if not all digital cameras should use standard mini USB cables. Nevertheless, I give it a 4 out of 5.
- For the money, I can't believe how good this camera is. Takes great shots and videos. It also has a lot of fun features like changing the color or adding frames to pictures. For someone low tech and thrifty like myself, this camera is perfect.
- This is a wonderful camera. I was unsure about buying a camera online without seeing it first, but I am very happy with it. It takes wonderful pictures and it small enough to fit in my pocket. I would recommend this camera.

2 comments about Samsung SCD5000 DuoCam MiniDV Camcorder/4MP Digital Still Camera.
- The video quality indoors is absolutely horrible, even with the night shot features, and every possible combination of settings, etc. I tried really hard to find reasons to keep this camera. But in the end, the video quality was too horrible to justify it as a $... digital still camera.
Outdoors, the video was OK producing ever so slightly washed out colors, but here is the real problem. Moving between light and moderately dark areas of a small room produced horrible video. During playback you either got something that looked like pure night or the sun all in one room. The video recorder does not gracefully adjust between light and moderately light areas of a room. Occasionally when using the zoom, a pure white line would be recorded vertically as part of the video!!!!! Now for the camera. One thing that annoyed me after a few minutes was the constant manual flipping of half of the device between still and video. I did a comparison between the Samsung still digital camera and my Sony 3.34 MP camera that I already owned. Disappointment again. Horrible color from Samsung (washed out colors). I was not impressed with the quality after comparing about 10 different pictures of varying light, indoors, outdoors, etc. Hands down the Sony 3.34 MB won. I returned the Samsung camera and bought instead the Sony TRV70 for about the same price (I would like to have tried the TRV80 but $... more was just not in the cards for an 1" more LCD). What a difference. When it comes to color and light (indoors especially), Sony seems to have those two figured out. Awesome video recording indoors with the Sony. All around the video was so much better with the Sony. The still are not as good as my Sony 3.34 but if you can live with reduced picture size, the quality is pretty good (plus no manual flipping of half the device). I'll still probably take both the video and the camera on the next trip (pending cooperation from the wife). Really, if you ignore such frills as Bluetooth and Internet connectivity from within your camcorder (!!!), you can probably buy something much cheaper than the TRV70. One day, we'll all carry one device that produces high quality video and stills. But for now, that day is not here yet.
- This camcorder is a piece of junk. The low light is really horrible. The picture is grainy and the autofocus is slower than my grandma. Spend a little extra a get a quality camera...not this one!

- I ordered a Samsung replacement battery SB-L320. It was delivered in two days or so, very promptly. My questions before the sale were immediately and accurately answered. The battery, as far as I can tell, works very well, and I cannot think of one area where this experience does not merit excellent.

4 comments about Samsung Digimax 401 4MP Digital Camera.
- I bought this camera last November. When you take the pictures, they come out perferct on the lcd screen. However, when you go to upload them or have them printed out, they come out blurry. I have written to Samsung numerous times and have yet to receive a response. When I went to the website, I found out the biggest complaint about the camera was the pictures come out blurry. Stick with and Olympus or Canon. I have had the Olympus c3020 (3.2 mp)for 5 years and recently upgraded to the C8080 (8mp). My pictures have come out wonderful.
- Pros: Good for creating JPGs for sharing via email, Internet, or making a slide show.
Cons: No optical zoom. When printing, pictures loose quality (not sure why). Video quality is very low. Poor battery life.
The bottom line: this camera is your very basic digital toy. I bought it only because I was a novice at this and had no clue as to what quality digital camera suppose to contain.
- I received this camera one or two years ago, so it is a bit dated. It was my first digital camera, and a good stepping stone to become aquainted with them. But it has some serious problems.
My main beef with the camera is that you have to be standing absolutely still (or use a tripod, of course) in order to get a shot that isn't blurry. There is a HUGE delay time between pressing the button and it actually flashing and taking the picture. I couldn't stand that -- because most of the time, my subject would move and it would blur while the camera was "taking" the picture. Also, forget using this camera to take pictures out your car window while moving.
One of the most irritating problems was the flash. I tried several modes and they all washed out the subject, making it extremely bright and the background very dark. The way to counteract this was to turn the flash off, but that resulted in -- again -- blurry pictures. On top of this all, you have to have a stockpile of batteries to keep the thing running.
Fortunately the menus weren't too difficult to figure out, and the buttons all over the camera are well placed. It also is a good size -- small enough to be portable, but not too small that you can barely hold it. It was really easy to hook up to my computer and browse right to the pictures (I didn't use the included software, I used Paint Shop Pro).
Overall, I would only buy this camera used if you were looking for an extremely cheap digital camera, or you want to get one for your kid, who will simply enjoy the fact that they can take pictures and see them. If you're looking for a better quality camera though, my next purchase was the Kodak EasyShare Z730 and I heartily recommend it over this one.
- I got this camera for Christmas in 2004. A few days after Christmas in 2005, it just quit working--wouldn't turn on. I've had this same problem of breaking after a year or two with other Samsung electronics.
Overall, though, this is a decent starter camera. It's too large to fit in a pocket, and it takes up quite a bit of space in a small purse, but it does take video with good sound.
This was my first digital camera, but in my opinion, it was rather slow (if you're trying to take pictures of kids, this would not be the camera for you).
It was easy to work with, and it's quite cheap compared to others on the market (note, no optical zoom). If mine hadn't broken so soon, I'd be a lot more likely to recommend it. Just remember that you get what you pay for (2 years ago, it was around $100), so this one is indeed slow.
It doesn't take the best pictures very close-up (inches away), but most cameras aren't meant to. It does a good job focusing (there is a close-up and normal mode).
The best part of this camera is the fact that you can use AA batteries. I bought several packs of the 15-minute rechargeable batteries. This way, when I knew I'd use the camera heavily, I could take an extra set of batteries, and not stop in the middle to recharge.

5 comments about Samsung Digimax i85 8.2MP Digital Camera with 5x Optical Zoom (Black).
- This a great Camera, with great image quality and amazingly fast zoom!
The video quality has also quiet improved over the NV3 that I have.
The reason that I didn't give a 5 star to this camera are the following:
1) A small delay in start up
2) Relatevly low battery life.
Otherwise this camera is an amazing power house that realy raises the bar over the competition.
- I've been using this camera for past 2 weeks.
I'm pretty much satisfied with its performance. It gives blurred images sometimes but otherwise its pretty decent.
Its build in media playing capability is really cool.
- I had done some research on various brands (ie, Sony, Canon, Nikon, etc). I used resource such as CNET and other review websites to include reviews from product owners that purchased various on-line stores.
After all that, I found that the Samsung i85 looked like a real gem, especially for the price compared with Sony and similar high-end brands.
What I found is that for a basic point & shoot ultracompact cameras, the Samsung i85 has the best bang for the buck.
At first I was concerned about MegaPixels. Then I discovered that that is just a bunch of hype when dealing with these types of cameras. MPs between 6-10 are actually going to give most people way beyond what they need, because even if you print your pictures, you won't find a lot of quality difference. Those with bloated MegaPixel ratings are for serious photographers that plan on making prints from poster to billboard size. for a simple 4x6 or 8x10, you're not going to see any quality difference.
So that led me to my next question about optics. What I liked about this camera is that it surpassed every other. 5x Optical zoom AND 5x Digital zoom = 25 total zoom! All the other cameras were in the 10 to 15 TOTAL zoom. Samsung i85 wins that category.
I also found that the i85 seemed to have one of the largest internal memories to start...190mb vs 15-32mb for the others I was looking at. Samsung i85 wins that category.
Also uses upto 4GB sdcard. *Make sure that it is a regular sd card, I found that the Ultra Fast cards don't seem to work as well. No problems since going to the regular speed card.
Camera takes photos, video, plays mp3, even has a sports photo feature...great for taking pictures of a golf swing.
Big screen, easy to use buttons.
Overall, I'm really pleased with this camera.
ONLY FLAW that I've discovered so far is that you can inadvertently hit the play button to see your pictures which results in the camera turning on, instead of just using the power button. Not sure if its a setting or something I'm doing wrong.
- I've been a Samsung Camera lover for a long time. I began with the Digimax S500, then upgraded to Samsung NV3, and now I recently purchased the Samsung i85. I've tried other cameras like the Sony Cybershot DSC S730, but returned it instantly at poor picture quality and lack of image stabilization (Don't be fooled by the SONY brand name, this camera is not good!). Then I bought an Olympus FE-230, and although the picture quality was great and the camera was slim and lightweight, it was too slow at taking pictures for my taste.
After my failed attempts, I bought the Samsung NV3, which is a perfect camera. It takes great pictures, amazing videos with great sound, and you can even hear MP3s on it. After having a successful buy with the Samsun NV3, I decided to upgrade and immediately fell in love with the Samsung i85. This camera has it all. It takes beautiful pictures both inside and outside. It has many features in which you can tweek your camera into taking great pictures despite the horrid conditions outside.
The face recognition function, image stabilization, and ASR function make this camera perfect for portraits and up close and personal pictures. The pictures are so crisp and clear that it makes the worst looking image look beautiful. Videos turn out nice, with great sound quality; however, it is better to take videos in well lit areas. The World Tour guide function seems to be really cool and educational, but I haven't really messed around with that yet.
Moving on, Samsung's i85 is a great camera for those who want great pictures, and don't want to spend too much on a digital camera. Samsung cameras are also very durable and with the internal zoom, you won't have to worry about messing up the lense. Battery life is very good, but I feel that the NV3 has a longer battery life span. The LCD display screen is huge and great for previewing pictures. I do recommend for those who are purchasing this camera to buy it either in silver or black, as they look nicer with time.
Overall, this is a great camera and you'll definitely be content with your purchase!
- This is the WORST PRODUCT with the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!! I only gave it one star because I had to, but it does not deserve ANY!!!!! I bought this camera last November and have yet to have a camera that works. I have sent it in FOUR times to be fixed and the last time I sent it in (a month ago) I have STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED IT BACK!!!!! When I asked for a refund, I was refused and they said that they could only send me a black camera (which after a month of waiting they have not sent me). Each time I sent it in to be fixed it was because it stopped taking pictures after recharging the battery. I cannot believe that Samsung has not refunded my money after they convinced me to buy their piece of GARBAGE!!!!!!! How is it that a company can sell a product that doesn't work and not refund your money after a year of CRAPY SERVICE and HEADACHE? I will NEVER buy a Samsung product again!!!!!
