- I could NOT get the film to load properly; the display kept flashing an error message, even after trying 2 different rolls of film. A week later, I went to a camera store and mentioned that I'd bought this camera off the 'net and the trouble I'd had with it. The salesperson took THEIR display camera and had exactly the same difficulty with it. Obviously, this unit has some problems.
- I recieved the Samsung 70GL Power Zoom Ultra Compact Camera as a birthday present. It was given to me early so I could take pictures of my daily events during my vacation. I did have trouble loading the film. On several tries, I had to open the loading 'bay' and replace the film. I belive I might have exposed several frames on the roll just to get it to take. Is there some type of problems out there with this particular camera? and if so, is there a fix for them? Please let me know I would like to take full advantage of this product!
- This camera definitely has some major problems with its film loading system. Like the other reviewers, I couldn't load the film in even after too many tries. A very disappointing product.
- I bought this camera for my teenage son. The pictures were crisp and the features very easy to use. On a recent vacation, my personal camera broke and I used my son's camera. I was very surprised that the pictures I took with it were as good or better than the ones I had taken with a more expensive camera.
- I AM VERY SATISFIED WITH MY SAMSUNG CAMERA PURCHASE. ALSO, THE SERVICE FROM AMAZON WAS GREAT. I JUST HAD MY FIRST SET OF PICTURES DEVELOPED AND THEY CAME OUT EXCELLENT. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS CAMERA TO EVERYONE.

5 comments about Samsung Impax 210i Zoom APS Camera.
- A fair camera for outdoors, but my picturetaking is mostly at family gatherings, and all I see is red eyes, and some more red eyes.Useless indoors.
- This is a very small camera in size, but LARGE in capability. I consistently get sharp mages with this camera. It is quiet and very unobtrusive. The zoom is smooth and the flash has plenty of power when used with 200 or 400 film. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a camera to carry with them all the time.
- I purchased the camera in March 2000 and it stopped working promptly after purchase. I figured I'd give it the benifit of the doubt and had it replaced under warranty. Now that the warranty has expired the camera has stopped working again. It's a good litte camera for the money as long as you realize it may not last you very long.
- It's compact, durable, simple to operate, and takes great pictures! Have had absolutely no problems with the camera for the 3 years I've owned it!!
- The user who complained of "red eyes" should note that there is a red-eye setting on the camera which eliminates these concerns. It makes decent enough pictures, and especially when compared to disposable cameras, you'd really be better off with one of these if you can find it for under $20.
APS cameras are really difficult to find these days, and they have their own pros and cons:
Pros:
- Three ratios for shooting (4x6in, 4x7in, 3.5x10in panorama).
- Loading film is easier than tying a shoelace.
- Index prints with every roll (so you can easily pick out snapshots to make reprints or to enlarge).
- Film is safer from the threats of overexposure, since it's enclosed.
Cons:
- Slightly more difficult to find film for than a 35mm.
- Smaller image area (by about 25%).
I've been reasonably happy with mine, and mostly used it on vacations or for general photography. There's no way I'd recommend this to anyone serious about art photography, so it's funny that the thing can actually be mounted on a tripod.

- This is an amazing camera! I bought it, quite skeptically, but am so glad I did. It is small, which was one of the features I was really looking for in a camera, and light weight. It carries easily in a purse, coat pocket or around your wrist. It takes great pictures, and the resolution is amazing. The pictures come out crystal clear. The menu's are easy to follow. The features are great-- there are a variety of options when it comes to color, and size of the photo. The only thing that I don't like is the software that comes with it. It is not the best I have used. I tend to just use the software that came installed on my computer. It is easier, as you can rotate and crop pictures right there.
Over all, I rate this camera really highly and think it is a great buy for anyone!
- I bought this camera because it had many good features at a good price. When I got the camera and tried it out I found all the features worked pretty well as advertised. Unfortunately, I didn't have much time to test because the non-rechargable battery gave out after about 20 shots and downloading these to the computer.
The camera comes with a non-rechargable CP-1 battery which is hard to find and costs $10 at Best Buy and more elsewhere. I thought maybe it was just a defective battery and bought a new one. This time I got about 25 shots and about a 5 second movie. Then the camera shut down because of "low battery." All this occurred after I had set the LCD to be off most of the time and in the dimmest mode when it was on (totally invisible outside).
The camera uses only the CP-1 battery. A rechargable version is available. Perhaps if you buy and use the re-chargable CP-1 battery and charger this camera would be satisfactory, but I just didn't want to take a chance of investing more in this camera and finding that even the re-chargable had a very short life. As it was, I was spending about $10 in batteries to get about 25-30 shots with downloading and review. At most I seemed to get about 30 minutes operation. This was not satisfactory.
Regarding the actual operation, the features seemed to work but the focus was not particularly reliable even for what I considered a basic subject centered shot.
All in all I think a lot of work went into a this camera to have it be so small and yet have so many features. Unfortunately, based on the battery situation alone I cannot recommend it. I returned the camera.
- I bought this camera originally in April '05. It works great, but it's slow. Slow as in, when your ready to take a second shot, you have to wait about 20 seconds for it set itself up for the next shot as it stores. I bought this camera in Dubai, and have the rechargeable version. It came with it's memory stick, but I bought a 256MB card for the camera. Changing the pixel settings changes how many takes you can store. This camera takes excellent shots during the Auto setting, but if you use NIGHT.... horrible!!! Night settings if you use, you need a steady hand. The camera will takes pics that have fuzzy blurriness and light streaking. Not a good shot when the shot counts. For the shots that you can take your time with, this camera is a wonderful choice. For the person that's looking to get the shots of action, this is not a great choice.

5 comments about Samsung Maxima 105 GL QD Zoom Date 35mm Camera.
- I got this camera just recently and must say that it is exactly what it appears to be - a good camera for a price that won't have you cringing when you get the bill - I tried out a few "zoom" cameras before this, and I was much more impressed with the zoom in this camera (it was very smooth whereas the others tended to be slightly jerky). The camera itself is also very user friendly.
- I read prior reviews of the Samsung 105 where complaints of missed shots were made. My Samsung 105 GLM was bought & tested by me before this review. I'd had two automatic tiny point & shoots including a non-zoom Konica (a heckuva fine camera, too) that was used by my wife for about a dozen years. I'd learned to depress the shutter button halfway for a split second to allow preset commands and auto focus to work properly and never had a missed shot even on a jet boat in Hell's Canyon white water! This is in the Samsung manual!
My experience with the S-105 GLM proved it to be a solid- if tiny & pocket sized, full-featured quality device for comparatively little money. No, I am not in any camera business nor am I affiliated with Samsung or Amazon, but I have been a camera semi-pro for much of my 80 years! My work had been used, too, in many court cases when I was sworn.
- I took this on a trip down the Rhine with a friend. She had her Cannon EOS Rebel 2000 and I gotta tell you, all my shots came out much better than hers and I paid $200.00 less! The colors were more vivid, the shots were sharp and in perfect focus, even the zoom shots.
My mother used this camera at my wedding and her shots came out better than the photographers! And she usually takes horrible pictures! (She can consistently get her thumb in every shot!) What a great camera. However..... The lens cover tends to stick open and I am afraid the lens will get scratched. Also, it doesn't have the night portrait mode and I really thing that is a great mode to have for travel.
- I absolutely love this camera. I paid $170 3 years ago and it was a great investment. I have never had any problems with it. The zoom is the best feature about this camera. I've been able to take some awesome pictures of the moon with 1600 speed film. Great camera!

- This is my first digital camera and I have been fairly satisfied with it. Generally, I agree with the previous reviews. Overall, it is a good camera and the price was just right - especially with the mail-in rebate! My research, including these reviews, concludes that this camera is of generally good quality and comparable to many similar cameras.
Pictures have been very good quality with any of the settings. Menus allow some adjustments and the usual camera settings. Not too complicated but very useful. But images are often brighter in the camera's ccd display than when viewed on the computer screen. Haven't experienced poor image quality problems thus far. They look great on the computer screen. Print outs look quite good as well. That has as much to do with your printer as your camera. The movie option is great fun. Only I wish it could record longer movies. Disappointed by the lack of a sound option. Of course, it is not a video camera so don't expect much. Yet has been great fun for computer viewing and might even try sending via e-mail and sharing on family website. The camera's two biggest problems are: it uses up batteries much too quickly, and images tend to be too dark when taken in low light conditions. Again, these are problems typical of these cameras. But they can be acceptable considering other things such as cost. Certainly, an AC adapter saves batteries during image downloads (and handy when taking pictures) and is available at the usual places. Odd that Samsung doesn't offer an adapter or recharger kit. Get the best batteries you can find and keep an extra set handy. Adobe's PhotoDeluxe software provided with the camera is simple and great. I'll not bother to use my other photo editing software. Even so, it would become quite tedious to 'fix' every dark pic captured inside at, say, someone's birthday party. I think I can live with this problem, for now. Also, buying additional memory cards is a big plus. I am considering 64 or 128 mega pixel Sandisk cards. Price is reasonable, so why not have the added flexibility? Recommendation: worth buying if it suits your digital camera needs and expectations. could make for a good beginner digital camera.
- I have used a few digi cams the kodak easyshare dx3600, nikon coolpix775, both of wich had good image quality , and sony I wanted my own istead of using everyone elses what I realy wanted was the nikon it took the best but I decided to save the money and get the samsung thinking becouse it was 2megapic it would be ok. Not even close, taking a picture wasnt easy as the camera was not quick enough I missed everything that I took, the lcd viewer was so dark I tried using it then gave up,it had some good options but no explanation as how to or when it would be best to use them, not only that but since the view finder was so awfull it was hard to read the options and change them. Then came time for me to transfer them to my computer they looked awfull the worst I had ever seen you could sea every block the color was poor and dark just hidius I wouldnt even take it a step further to print it why bother I knew this camera was junk and returned it 4 hrs after buying it. for the money I sugest the kodak for the same price much better picture and the instructions are great or go up 50 bucks or so and get the nikon even better just dont buy the samsung
- Camera takes decent pictures, certainly good enough for web sites and general photography, but you wouldn't mistake the images as something from a professional camera (and at this price, you really wouldn't expect to).
What I really like about this camera is the service. I just sent the camera in to fix a problem with the flash and mode selector wheel. A new reconditioned camera was received only 2 weeks after it was sent in.
- This is the first time I have ever bothered to write a review although I feel that it is necessary to save other people some grief. I got this camera for 1/2 off at a going out of business sale and I regret even that! One reviewer had said that the lag time is awful. I couldn't agree more! We took it whale watching on our vacation to Boston. I now have pleanty of dark pictures of the very end of the whale and also many of the water splash the whales leave. What a let down!
- I just started my gift basket business and thought this would be a great way to 1. save money 2. save time. I spent more time fixing my pictures than anything. Now I find out my flash is broken, and the bad flash may have caused the darkeness in my pictures. I take pictures of my baskets before I sell them, and when they're gone I can't get them back to take another picture. I am now in search for a better camera. I don't know why I'll never learn that you get what you pay for.

- I finally had enough extra money to upgrade to a better digital camera, and I got rid of this peice of junk as quickly as I could. I managed to sell it to some poor unsuspecting soul on the internet, my boyfriend wanted it if it was going to be cheap but I didn't have it in me to rip him off like that.
This is a terrible camera. I bought it in January 2006 because it was cheap and I had a Samsung phone so I trusted the brand, but it quickly went into a downward spiral.
It has no redeeming qualities: the battery life is horrible. The picture quality is horrible- every shot is blurry unless you are outside under optimal lighting conditions and you are in possession of a four leaf clover. The internal memory is horrible. The only reason I hung onto it for as long as I did is because I am a poor college student and tuition usually takes priority over everything else.
The final straw was when I took it to Japan over the summer and ended up missing out on lots of great shots because of all the shortcomings this camera is saddled with. Not even halfway through the trip I rented a Nikon L12, and the rest of my trip was very well documented. That is the camera I ended up replacing this one with, as I was very satisfied with its performance.
Do NOT, I repeat, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! Spend the extra $20-30 on a decent camera that will go the distance. This one will do nothing but disappoint time and time again.
- This camera takes good pictures in bright light, otherwise don't waste your time. The pictures are pretty hit or miss. I commend Samsung for offering a camera at this price point and it's durable. This is a good camera to have handy b/c it's $100 and is better than getting the disposable variety. It's a point and shoot, let's not forget.
- We bought this camera about 25 months ago and have been mostly happy with it. Money is tight, so the expensive camera's were not an option, and our old digital camera broke. It is fairly easy to use and does movies too. The quality is less than my mom's more expensive camera - but it works fine for us. It is small enough to easily tuck into my purse next to my cell phone. Our only complaint is that the off on button doesn't work very well anymore. We have a paperclip attatched to the string to aid in turning it on and off. It does a reasonalble job with batteries - the cheaper AA's will last about 30 minutes - the ultra ones for electronics will last 6-10 hours depending on what you do with it. I've bought rechargable AA's and used them also - I get about 2 hours with them - overall, we like this camera.
- Hello, I bought this camera four years ago as of last week from walmart. It still works just like the day i bought it. Just too bad that that is bad.
BAD CAMERA
EVERY PIC BLURRY
- I just recently purchased a new camera because after three years, my Digimax A402 is on its way out, now. I'm a little sad to see it go because it's been a good little camera for the most part, although it performed poorly in certain low-light situations.
I dropped it on a stone-covered grave in Tombstone, AZ (that was probably about hot enough to fry an egg on at the time) about two years ago at a height of about four or five feet when I nearly fell over a young kid whose parents were allowing to follow me around. Except for a small scratch on the lens it came through the experience functioning just fine.
But now, apparently simply due to age, it's stopped functioning normally. It thinks its batteries are low even when they're fresh, is not adjusting to light, and is taking very blurry pictures.
Still, it took good photos for more than a year (probably closer to two) after being dropped, which is more than I expected in the moments after it actually happened.
Pros: Has a good bit of internal storage, takes nice clear photos, is very compact, is very easy to use, has a landscape mode that takes great outdoor photos, and survived a heck of a fall.
Cons: Was over-priced considering the features (no optical zoom, only a digital zoom, only 4 mega pixels), has a soft LCD screen, flashes three times in any flash-using mode (sounds like no big deal but it can be irritating, especially in my favorite setting - concerts, and drains the batteries), has a looong shutter delay, and does not do well in low light.
MAJOR WARNING about the flash and low-light situations: If you turn off your flash in portrait mode, or use a low-light mode, the shutter delay becomes positively interminable because the shutter speed is slowed, which it does automatically. Because most of the photos I take are at concerts this is totally unacceptable. You have to hold incredibly still to take a photo that isn't severely blurred and your subject can't move for several seconds (I counted a shutter delay of over five seconds.)
Leaving the flash on is often not an option because if you have a crowd in front of you you're going to get a better photo of the back of their heads than of the stage. This became infuriating and is for me probably the camera's biggest drawback. I eventually found a solution to this problem... electrical tape over the flash. The camera functioned much better in concert situations with this little improvement. However, I never found my makeshift solution acceptable. A fast shutter speed (which is sluggish even at its best) in low light should definitely be an option on this particular camera but it is not.
Recomended for: People who need a compact, durable, easy-to-use camera mostly in outdoor situations (where it excels) or indoor situations where a flash is acceptable. A good camera for a family.
NOT recomended for: Anyone who wants to be able to take detailed photos of far-away objects or in dark conditions, or anyone who wants to be able to closely control their camera's settings. Concert and club goers take note: this camera may not be for you.

- This is the best camera on the market in it's price range. The camera takes excellent night shots (I have captured city skylines, fireworks, and even lightening!) which look very professional. Day shots are excellent too, the pictures always come out crystal clear and very sharp. The zoom is just enough for most nonprofessional needs. The camera also has excellent blur reduction (for shots taken from car windows). There is only one downside to this camera: the redeye reduction is not always totally effective. But, if you are like me and don't care that much about redeye, then this camera is for you.
- I like this camera. Compact and easy to use, but unfortunately, the red eye reduction doesn't work for beans. I have two little girls with blonde hair and blue eyes, and they always end up with red red eyes... other than that, super camera! If you're mostly shooting landscapes or brown eyed individuals (my eldest brown hair brown eyed daughter always looks super) than this is an awesome camera for the money! No other complaints than the red eye issue!
- I purchased this camera and as soon as it got here I put a CR2 battery in it and set the date. Next thing I did was load it with Kodak 400 speed 35MM film and I pushed the on/off button and it did nothing! I am going to return it to Adorama camera and get my money back. I have no complaints with Adorama camera because they shipped it super quick and it is not their fault that Samsung makes junky products. I have had similar experiences with a Samsung VCR so I was reluctant to purchase this camera. DO NOT BUY THIS CAMERA! IT IS A PIECE OF JUNK!
- The camera works nice but its battery costs about $5 and its casing exterior quality feels like cheap plastic .. thats how you can get a $150 camera for $30 .. i wonder what was compromised !!
- Amazon's Production description as well as one other review mentions the flash card and the Twain driver in this camera. Am I missing something here ? Also, there is no "Portrait" or "Landscape" mode. I just checked the manual one more time - sorry, cannot find any of this. Apart from that, the camera is reasonably good for the money I paid ($30+shipping). Need to strictly be atleast 3 feet away while trying to take close-ups (especially if zooming in), otherwise it results in blurry images. Outdoor pictures are fantastic.

5 comments about Samsung X210L MPEG4 Sports Camcorder with 1GB Memory and 10x Optical Zoom.
- my sister bought this camera for my christmas present last year. i do a lot of snowboarding in colorado. my sister made jokes because on the box was a picture of a snowboarder in action. it was kinda cute and funny.
im not a camera guy so i dont understand all the fancy terms. please dont be offended by my simple review.
at low altitudes below 8000 ft the camera was fine. battery sucked. lasted about 30 minutes. with stills the battery died even quicker. maybe 5-7 shots and its dead.
at higher altitudes 8,000-10,000 ft the camera gets unrealiable. sometimes it works, sometimes not. over 12,000-14,000 ish the camera didnt even work. it powered on, but none of the video captured. the screen was just white and it gave some error message. i understand not many people go up to 14,000 ft above sea level on foot, but im a snowboarder. this is what i do and this is what was on the side of the box pictured.
the camera or batteries performance in the cold was bad too.
quality of the still pics was below average. oh, the video quality was poor too. this was free to me so it was worth it. if you are paying for it i would pay no more then half the retail price. i dont know how other cameras are but you need to install special video codecs in order to play back the videos on your computer. the software and cable was included. but its sucks that i have to re-encode it as an avi file before i can email it to friends and what not.
the quality of the helmet cam was below the quality of the regular camera lens. the helmet cam is sweet and its easy to use. i like of the lens can rotate to make sure your picture is not croaked. and the on/off button on the cable of the helmet cam is easy. good placment.
when its working the camera records smooth. the filtering was ok. i didnt expect much for the low quality specs. for snow, you where not able to see the texture or slope of the snow. it all looked white and flat. but for mountain biking it works just fine.
i bought an extended battery on ebay for like 15-20 bucks. totally worth it. on the cold i got about 2.5 hours of video. i also got a 2 gig sd card and it has about 1.20 hours on recording on it.
- This video cam was designed and targeted for the sports minded or active athlete that wants to capture their moments on video. If you're using it for this purpose, nothing beats it for the price.
It's ridicilious to compare or expect this camera to perform like:
1. High end video cam that costs 2x or 3x more.
2. Video cams that were designed to shoot normal activities indoors and out.
The good:
1. A small (size of an male adult thumb) and sturdy external video cam attachment with mic can be mounted almost anywhere. Inside your car, while racing. On the frame of your bike, while riding down or jumping a hill. Mounted on your head while your snowboarding. On your backpack or cap while walking around at a party or gathering. Forget about holding the camera, attach it somewhere, record and go. Of course, you can disconnect the external cam attachment and hold it like a normal vid cam.
2. Versatile. It has 6 devices in unit. MP3, vid camcorder, pic cam, usb storage, usb web cam and voice recorder. You can add or swap 2 gb sd/mmc cards for extra storage/capacity.
3. High resolution at 720x480 at 30 fps. Clarity is good.
4. Small, compact, and lightweight. Easily fits in shirt pocket. About the size of a deck of cards.
5. Full setting adjustments like other more expensive vid cams. Contrast, steady shot, back light, auto, sport mode, etc...
The bad:
1. Indoor focus is poor. This sport cam was designed for outdoor use to capture your amazing athletic feats so the focus mechanism in low light is subpar. It will "search" or constantly attempt to focus when using it in an average lit room.
2. Color is off. The CCD is not a high end chip so your colors will not be presented correctly. All colors are washed down and not vivid.
Summary:
If you're a sports minded person that want to record your 360 spin, flip, jump, or just show your friends you possess super human strength from your perspective then this is the best camera combo. If you plan to shoot vacation videos, parties, or other daily events, then look elsewhere.
- I've had the Samsung X210L for about 10 months now... and give it a 5 star rating for special purpose use -- i.e. sports cam. In the sports cam application (in my case, mostly skiing) you usually have two distinct needs -- shooting friends and family from a distance and helmet cam.
This is the only camera I could find that fit both needs --
In the first case when shooting action involving someone else at a distance, there are two things that really count -- (1) big optical zoom (this cam has 10X) and (2) image stabilization (also part of the X210L). We've also found it important to have a pretty quick power up/ready to shoot sequence and X210L is fast (couple of seconds or less).
In the second case, you need to realize that Flash helmet cams aren't going to give great video -- way too much radical motion -- but they will capture the basic eye-view experience. What's important here is a solid setup. The X210L helmet cam is easy to connect (plugs right into the back without requiring anything to be opened up) and, as with any helmet cams, simply functions as an external lens -- does the job and has a nice one button (ski gloves! capable) on/off, record/stop combo setup on the cord.
A few other things that make this a great sports cam --
-- small size -- deck of cards form factor means is really can go in an inner pocket where it will stay warm, protected, and dry.
-- super flat battery form factor -- packing an extra battery is no big deal and it clips on the outside with one large easy to manipulate button
-- camera will record without the lcd display flipped out -- so if you're in a wild hand-held situation you can still shoot by aiming down the top of the cam but avoid the risk of damaging the LCD
-- extra batteries and chargers are reasonably priced
-- solid lens cap for when the cam is tucked in a pocket and you're using the helmet cam
-- simple controls (again, glove-capable)
-- 2GB slot -- when combined with the 1gb internal memory (requires you to switch between internal and external) means you can get pretty high quality levels -- up to couple of hours of shooting with an extra 190ma battery spare
-- cable connection between the camcorder the helmet cam is solid -- not likely to bend pins or break the connector
If you're just looking for point and shoot video simplicity and don't need much optical zoom, I'd recommend the other camera we use (Flip Video), but if you really want to nail the sports camera application this one (and presumably it's replacement the X300L) has a very slick set of features.
- This cam works great for on the move down and dirty sport shots. I use it while I ski, bike, fly and drive down the German autobahn at crazy speeds. The still photo options is a little lacking and it has other features like files and MP3 player but I only got this for the movies I can make along with the external lipstick cam. I have taped it to my helmet while doing the above mentioned sports and it looks great. The one thing this unit needs is a mute button so you don't pick up the rushing wind noise when you are going faster than 10 mph in any mode of sport. This has been mentioned in the Samsung forum for this camera. The battery works great you will run thru 4 gigs of card space before you drain the battery. A must buy cant beat the cool factor for the money. I get looks all day long with the cam mounted to my ski helmet :)
- This is a camera for those that know exactly what they want. If you don't know, then don't get this one. I have owned it for 1yr now, I've used it for skydiving, snowboarding, skiing, and when I want to do stupid crash related stuff. That is what it is made for!
I also took it to Europe for 6months, and used it all the time. Great size to travel with. Can hide it on you easily for safe keeping. The webcam features were a nice addition too. Video chat with family half way around the world, and didn't need another camera!
I am just now buying a replacement battery because when you plug the camera in, it does not has an auto shutoff. So I burned my battery out. However you can buy external chargers that have auto charging systems!
Down sides of this camera:
Digital pictures are LOW quality
Charging the battery = Damage
Other than that, the camera has prefomed better than I expected. And has taken a BEATING! Great crash camera!
