- I bought this camera to use while hiking and otherwise away from a constant supply of batteries. If you buy this camera, you better bring huge supply of batteries with you. For instants, once in a while I would get maybe 20 or so photos before it shut down, sometimes only 3 or 4 and a couple times it would not start up with store fresh Duracells. It always seemed to shut down when I needed it the most.
On the positive side the pictures look great, the camera has easy to use controls and the supplied Windows software works well. All in all I suggest you look elsewhere for a digital camera.
- I purchased the Samsung camera about 3 months ago thinking it would be a great camera to take along on my vacation to Alaska in August. Sure am glad I bought it early! I couldn't afford to buy batteries for this camera. On several occasions, I only got 6 pictures out of one set of batteries.
I have an older digital, took the batteries out of the Samsung (It indicated they were dead) and used them in the other camera for 20 more pictures.
I recently bought another camera to use on my trip, anyone want to buy a Samsung S730? Cheap!!!
- I bought the Samsung S730 camera to replace a Nikon CoolPix L4 camera that I gave to my son.
The Nikon CoolPix 4 Mega Pixel took excellent quality pictures, especially outdoors (I actually printed an shot of a tiger at the Naples (FL) zoo to 23 x 17" on an HP130 printer, and even with only 4MP, the print quality is outstanding! That print is framed and hanging on my wall, and there are no tale-tale signs of pixelation or that it was taken with a digital camera!). Also, a set of alkaline or rechargeable batteries seemed to last almost forever in the CoolPix (weeks and weeks, actually). So I thought this type of battery life would be *normal* for small point-and-shoot cameras. How wrong I was.
This Samsung is a newer model than the CoolPix L4 and higher resolution (7.2MP vs. 4MP). I was hoping for maybe even better battery life, hoping that a newer camera had newer power-saving features? Alas, no.
I would like to comment on the picture quality, but it is difficult because I have been able to take so few, due to my AA battery budget being under $50 a month! This Samsung eats alkaline batteries like a elephant eats peanuts; NO exaggeration. Let me repeat this important & *expensive* point:
----- THIS THING EATS ALKALINE BATTERIES LIKE CANDY!! ----
My rechargeable batteries (2100mAh) worked quiet well, and long, in my Nikon CoolPix, but the Samsung won't even turn on with them! A new set of name-brand alkaline AA batteries are only good for perhaps 10 or 15 pictures before the low battery warning and prompt shut-down. This is unacceptable for a camera. Any small camera, in my opinion.
To use this camera at all, I have had to switch to (VERY) expensive lithium batteries. These last as long as batteries should in a small digital camera, maybe 100 shots or more, but at $10+ for a set, the cost of $-per-shot is still unacceptable. But the camera is useless without them, so it has been either buy expensive lithium batteries or just not use the camera at all. I will be much more careful when I select my next camera (and it probably won't be a battery-eating Samsung).
As another reviewer had mentined, the battery power indicator is basically useless, as it shows a good, full charge, then suddenly the camera warns you that you are running on low battery power and promptly shuts itself down. However, don't throw those batteries away, as you will find that if you put them into any other device that uses AA batteries, they are still quite good with lots of power left, maybe most or almost ALL of the power of a new AA battery! This makes this Samsung useless & unacceptable, even *if* it has good picture quality.
I tried to return the camera to Circuit City (RIP) because of the battery issue (well before they went under), but I was told this was normal and they wouldn't take the return.
- This is a pretty nice camera. My sister got one a couple years ago, and it worked really nicely. It takes nice pictures, and is pretty quick after taking pictures too as far as refreshing back to screen. The only thing I did NOT like about this camera, is after about a year of use it started to eat batteries up very quickly. We use Re-chargeable batteries in the camera. I thought maybe it was the batteries too as well, but I replaced the batteries with regular Lithium Energizer batteries made for digital cameras, and it did the same thing. It drains in about 1 hour of use. When we first got it, it worked really well. it lasted for a lot of hours. Camera is nice, easy to use though and thats a plus.. it also has Memory card adapter as well so thats nice too. I actually got dirt in her last camera and destroyed it so that's why I bought this camera recently. the other one still works, but when the camera lens comes out and goes in it stops sometimes and beeps 3 times. Other than that its a pretty handy camera!
- My experience over the last couple of years seems to jibe with what other reviewers have said. The first unit I got stopped functioning properly after a couple of weeks. I forget the exact problem, but I took it back to the retailer (K-Mart) and they provided a new one. This has worked fine.
Battery life is the major issue, and I think it's a defect. Sometimes the most powerful and expensive lithium batteries won't take five pictures, flash or not. When I check the voltage, they're at 1.54, still perfectly good batteries and perfectly usable in other devices. So I tried rechargeables with good success. They work very well. The best and most powerful freshly charged batteries only rate 1.45 volts, but they can last for 50 or more pictures and weeks at a time. In both cases, the battery type setting in the camera was appropriate to the installed batteries. One thing I haven't tried is using the non-rechargeable lithiums while retaining the rechargeable setting. Anyway, I'm fine with the rechargeables, which are cheaper in the long run.
It does a fine job taking pictures in most situations. Transfer to the computer is quick and easy. I haven't used the video capability so no comment on that.

- For about a month, my Samsung worked O.K. (given the frequent battery changes--to lithium) but after that, this camera turns on for about 4 seconds and then beeps 3 times and shuts off. The end. I'm thoroughly dissapointed.
- If you have a problem with short battery life AND assuming you are using High Output NiMH Rechargeable Batteries (if not go get a set first) then follow these steps 1) Camera ON 2)Press "Menu OK" 3)Go to "Setup 2" 4) Scroll down to "Battery Type" 5)Change this to "NiMH" 6)Press "Menu OK" to save. Assuming good battery quality and full charge you should now be able to take A LOT more pictures. Many thanks to my mom whose camera was taking only 5-15 pics on a charge. CHEERS!
- I got this camera last year it worked great for awhile. I have to agree with most of the customers the battery life stopped working. I turned the camera on last week it beeped three times and when off that was it. I replaced the battery but it still beeping and shut off. I have a new camera now but another brand.
- After a year of use, began to defect of focus and had to dismiss it for that.
- I bought this camera because at the time, I liked the specs on it & it was a reasonable price. But I guess this camera goes to show you that you get what you pay for! This camera is a notch below okay. It isn't something I'd recommend to anyone, not even my worst enemy. You can put brand new batteries in it & you have about 5, 10 minutes before they're dead & you have to replace them. It doesn't even go easy on rechargeable batteries, no matter what brand. This camera is also not good for events like concerts or anywhere you think you'll be taking a lot of pictures (believe me, I've learned from personal experience). It was annoying taking a couple of pictures, then immediately turning it off to save battery life so I could take a couple more pictures, only to turn it back off to continue saving battery life so I can have enough to take pictures of the other bands that were playing. If you're trying to record a video, forget it, brand new batteries or not. If you have a 15 minute video you're wanting to record, you better cut that sucker down to 5 minutes because that's about how long it will take before your batteries are dead.
My advice is - don't waste your money on this camera! Spare an extra few dollars for a better one that comes with its own battery that you can charge & will last you a good 13 - 15 hrs! The battery life was my main peeve about this camera.

5 comments about Samsung DC164 DVD Camcorder with 33x Optical Zoom.
- I can't believe a company is allowed to sell such a piece of junk. Samsung should face a lawsuit for misleading buyers. This product does not fulfill the "implied warranty of merchantability". I'd rate this product zero if it was an option.
I've only been able to use DVD-Rs. Most do not finalize (disc error). (And, yes, the camcorder has already been sent back to Samsung once for "repair"....not as if that helped). The ones that do finalize always end up with clips that have errors (when I try to load the video to my computer for editing).
Luckily, I've been able to recover much of the corrupted clips using IsoBuster (DVD data recovery software). Still, the image quality of this camcorder is pathetic. I've used it for several months...but no more. I'm sick of spending all my time trying to recover corrupted video files...and then watching video that is of lower quality than analog VHS.
I went out and bought a Sony DCR DVD405. No more messing around with any brands other than Sony or Canon.
...anyone want a Samsung SCDC 164 for really cheap?
- DON'T BUY THIS CAMCORDER THE BATTERY ONLY LASTS FOR 20-25 MINUTES WHEN FULLY CHARGED. SOMETIMES YOU FEEL EMBRASSED.
- I received this product as a gift. While the camera itself was free, I had to buy a case, back-up batteries (after having read the negative reviews), mini DVDs, and a memory card, so it was far from free in the end. Here's my experience so far:
Pros:
--Lightweight, easy to hold
--Pretty
Cons:
--The battery problem is true and cannot be fixed from my experience. I bought a Samsung SB-LSM80 Equivalent Lithium Ion Battery TWO-PACK (Replaces SB-LS80 SB-LSM160--For Camcorder SC Series D263 D363 D365 D6040 D963 DVD DC164 DC) and a Memorex Mini DVD+RW 10 Pack. Even while fully charged, the battery indicator showed half-charge, for both the original battery and the new spare batteries I bought. After using the camera for about 5-10 minutes, it goes into a 1/4 charge mode. While it only takes about 1/2 hour to 45 minutes to fully charge from a 5-10 minute use, the battery indicator still only measures 1/2 charged. Very annoying.
--The DVD+RW discs do not allow for 'finalization' which worries me.
I haven't decided yet what to do--whether to deal with the product flaws or throw in the towel and buy my own digital camera
- I used this camera successfully for one week and one day, upon which time it suddenly stopped being able to read any disc. After several hours of troubleshooting myself and engaging level 2 technical support, it was deemed in need of repair and now I must send it off to NJ.
Consequently, I cannot give the product anything but the lowest rating as something 30+ days old and used only a week should not fail like this.
- It seems as though there are mixed reviews about this DVD camcorder. Either they loved it or they hated it. From my experience, I thought this camcorder was great. The quality of the video & sound is excellent for this camera. Of course, the video quality is alot better when shooting outside, and you would have to do some tinkering with the settings for indoor filming.
I've used it to capture some home videos and converted them to AVI or WMV format just be inserting the Mini-DVD+RW into my PC. You can just copy/paste directly to your Hard Drive without having to use a capture program that would take the whole length of the video to copy to your PC. I also owned a Canon MiniDV camcorder, and the only way to transfer those videos was using a capture program. This DVD camcorder definitely blows that Canon MiniDV out the water.
So, if you're looking for a DVD camcorder you have plenty of choices out there. But I have owned many Samsung products over the years (HDTV, phone, etc.) and I've always had a great experience with them and never had a problem with any of them. I'm actually selling mine or cheap because I just bought a new HIGH-DEF camcorder. Those are pretty expensive though, so I had to work some extra overtime to pay for it.

- The buttons are in weird places, the controls are hard to get to, the control to turn the camera on is hard for anyone with nails to use, the look through lens always shows white no matter how you try to get it to work so you always need to use the digital viewfinder, the tape recording is grainy, the camera refuses to let you use the anti-shake feature even when you're in camera mode, you can't use anything related to Memory Stick Duo or Pro EVEN IF you can find and get an adapter (which limits you to the original "Memory Stick" 256MB cards ~ 30 min. if you can find them because they are pretty much obsolete), the memory stick formatting feature doesn't work, the software doesn't work with the tape in the camera when you try to access it from a computer, common video editing software will not detect the tape inside of the camera, sound is hard to pick up because the microphone is on the top of the camera, the USB streaming feature results in jumpy/grainy video that is not recognized by sites like myspace or utube, and it loses battery life quickly.
My advice: Buy something else that you can actually hook up to a computer. Who honestly uses tapes if they want to make home movies to burn to a CD or DVD? WAY more frustration and money than it is worth.
- I am extremely displeased with the life of this product. I shot about 20 hours of footage with it and it no longer works. Don't buy this camcorder.
- This was a gift for a friend. She was very pleased. It was just what she wanted.
- If you have the problem of not being able to record other than audio, (bad CCD chip) Samsung will repair or replace this camera for free. Call Samsung with your serial number and they will e-mail you a UPS shipping label and RMA number for UPS. This is the result of a class action suite settlement. I hope this helps someone as it did I.

- I Had one of these, and after a year or so the LCD display when black, FOREVER. They want $180 to repair it when the FLEA MARKET sells better ones for half the price. Oh and the image quality was a couple of decades behind, PIXELLATION BELONGS IN THE 80's!!!!

- This camcorder is unreliable. I purchased one locally (not from Amazon.com), and it failed after I had recorded less than one and a half tapes. Unfortunately, by that time it was out of warranty, so I am stuck with it although it is now useless. Checking online, I discovered that other owners have experienced the same problem. (The camcorder will not record or play tapes because the "eject" signal appears even with new tapes.) After this experience, I would avoid all Samsung products.
- had this camcorder for 2 years now only used it at xmas and birthdays and now it keeps flashing on the screen to eject the tape. it's a mechanical problem and is going to cost almost as much as the camera costed to get fixed
- This camera does not come with the ability to download onto a computer with XP or later versions, it sucks!! Spend your money elsewhere!
- Don't waste your money on this piece of hooptie camera. We haven't even filled up enough space for one blank cassette before it started humming really loud and the battery would go dead (even after fully charging it). I took it to the local electronic store and they tell me the battery and the drums have gone bad already. Here's the kicker..there estimate to fix it was $298.00!!! The recorder was only $200.00 to begin with. Spend a little more and get good quality. You get what you pay for I guess.
- I wouldn't buy it again, but, it does work with firewire with windows 7. I just made a video of a talent show and the sound is really good. The picture quality is not the best, but not bad either for the price. It does have a lot of features. All in all it is not a bad camera.

- I bought this camera for my daughter, for christmas i knew already of the quality of this cam because i already have one of my own, deffinatly recommend this to anyone!
- I received this camera as a gift, and used it on my recent trip to Italy. Imagine my dismay when I discovered that many of the pictures I had taken were not even valid jpegs! No program could open them! Moreover, many other pictures had not been processed correctly by the camera, leading to images that are missing color channels, split, or a combination of the two. Hopefully this is an isolated issue, because otherwise this camera works well for simple point-and-shoot purposes.
- I have had this camera for over a year. I picked it for the pixels (8.2) and the color(red). Kinda lame to go by color, I know. On Thanksgiving Day, last year, I had my sister take some pictures of my family (I refuse to pay studio prices when I can get a print for a very low price at Walmart). I blew up the one I liked to a 16x20 to hang on my wall. It turned out perfectly. No distortion or pixelation(if that's the right word). I take my own pictures, individuals, of my children. They are also all on the wall. 8x10, and of course they look magnificent. I think it's very easy to use, and love it. However, I made a bad choice and took my camera on a river rafting trip. It got just a little sprinkling, and it's ruined. But I am buying a new one because it was such a great camera.
- The camera was fine, but quit working while under warranty. There was no serial number on the unit. I guess it was on the box, but we could not find the box. After 10+ days of me calling customer service, faxing the invoice, and e-mailing a picture of the camera to prove there was not a serial number - Samsung told me it was illegal for them to service the unit under warranty. I wasted hours!! If they had told me that to start with, I could have lived with it. If at all possible, I will not by a Samsung product again.
- I got this camera for my 18 years old grandniece as her first camera.
Over the years, I've owned many cameras from Canon, Nikon, Sony, etc. And after reading numerous reviews, what attracted me to this camera was the ease of use, the girly color, and the price. It turned out to be a good choice. And my grandniece loves it. She was able to figure out how to use it on her own in no time.
The camera is very easy to use, it took very good to excellent pictures in a variety of lighting conditions, it records video, it's small enough to fit in a shirt pocket, has rechargeable battery that last for many, many pictures even with flash. In addition, it has the expansion slot for SD card, so you can take any number of photos depending on the SD card.
Overall, this is a very good everyday use camera and a very reasonable price.

- I purchased this about 8 months ago. I have found little to complain about. It does all I want and then some. I have worked with a lot of
cameras and this is by far the easiest to work. I carry it everywhere.
I have 5 grandchildren and I need speed. One grandson (age 3) has taken to photography and loves this camera. His pictures are really pretty good. When I walk into his house it's nana cheese. Truly a camera for
young and old. Samsung - keep up the quality.
Bonnie
- I've tried all those cheap Canon and Casion cameras you can buy at Costco, and the quality of the photos were pixelized and blurry. With this camera, you will get clear pictures almost all the time and the quality is amazing. Samsung is a high quality company and it shows with this camera. We have a Samsung 42" HDTV and it is great so I bought this camera as well. It has great flash and great scenario options. If your looking for a good stable with great quality photos for this price range, look no further because you won't find a better quality camera. I knew it was good when I first got it because it is durable and heavier than those cheap cameras.
- The seller never got back to be, I waited almost 2 months before I had to file a A-Z garentee to get my money back. They never sent me the product or respond back to my emails.
- Although I paid $480 when I bought it in a trip to Korea 4 years ago, I still feel it's worth the money. The picture quality is great. I think point and shot cameras are built on rangefinder architect. Rangefinder camera always gets better pictures than SLR. I bought a canon dslr before it doesn't power up so I return it. Last year I bought another canon dslr before a trip to Paris. When I came back from the trip and compair the pictures on my computer, I found the samsung point and shot camera's pictures are much better than the canon. Guess what, I returned the canon again.
It's also a nice MPV and mp3 player. I converted lots of movies into the SD cards and had a lots of fun on the flights. The batter last very long. I also bought two more batteries from ebay for $8.
This Samsung camera is a great keeper.
- I got this camera elsewhere online but I figured I'd write a review here for it. It is made by Samsung so you know the durability is good. It is a bit on the heavier side, but it isn't terrible. I kind of like it a bit heavier considering I held those Polaroid and other digital cameras they sell for the same price and I felt like I was going to break it. Also when electronics are heavy that pretty much means they are good, but not in all cases. I had the camera for over a year now I think and putting it on the P setting which I guess is picture, is amazing. It detects whether it needs flash or not and takes the picture instantly so there is no hand motion shaking to make it blurry. It has worked wonders and the only time I take it off that setting now is to take video which is what I am going to review next. The video settings are awesome, it has Widescreen and Full Screen options and adds the black top and bottom bars for Widescreen. You can also do it in pretty high resolutions like 640x480 which is pretty good. Pictures can be taken way high up to 7MB a file which is huge. I leave it on 500k a file for eBay and craigslist photos and with my 2gb flash memory card, I can take over 12,000 of those size photos which is astounding. Also the last thing is that this camera can also be used as an Mp3 player. The sound from it is just as good as a regular mp3 player if not better. So all in all, this camera gets a 5 out of 5 star rating. The only bad thing that isn't worth a star is that the battery life has begun to decrease after a year but I believe that is normal.

5 comments about Samsung TL9 10MP Digital Camera with 5x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom (Silver).
- The Samsung TL9 (Also known as the NV9) is a great digital camera that is feature packed and should be able to please most people. I had the NV3 before and loved it and I wanted a camera with similar features (like mp3 player, video player, and text viewer). This camera most definitely does everything I wanted and more. The only cons I have are that the camera doesn't take pictures fast enough and the fact that it's advertised as "black" when in reality it's more of an eggplant color. All in all, definitely a fantastic camera for the price.
- How am i to rate the item if i never got it please stop sending mails. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- This is a great camera.
Pros:
Takes great-looking photos
No protruding lens = less to damage.
Bright, high resolution screen
5X ZOOM
Can be used as an MP3 player
And... Looks very cool
Con:
Compact but too thick to be a sub-compact
Thank you.
- Easy to use for a pocket camera and the best features are the two dials on top showing the amount of battery left and the amount left on the SD card. Both are separate from the lcd screen and very easy to check up on the balances of each.
- Sellor/shipper did fine job. Arrived in most timely fashion, and was well protected in shipping container. I wanted this camera! After a year, the "Bird of Paradise" factor kicked in, and I found my older and okay camera! I had to send the preferred unit back! The sellor was most gracious about giving me an RMA number and credited my credit card right away. I highly recommend this merchantSamsung TL9 10MP Digital Camera with 5x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom (Silver)!

- My wife bought this for me last year for Christmas - not sure why I didn't really want another video cam. But anyway, after having the camera for about 12 months now, I've shot about 12 minutes of video. Why only 12 minutes? Because every time I've used it, it's locked up on me to the point that I have to take the battery out to get it to shut off. The last time I looked at this camera I was showing somebody how it would lock up and needed the battery taken out. I took the battery out, it went off I turned the knob to the off position and reinserted the battery. I put the camera down assuming it was off and it should have been. 15 minutes or so went by and I accidentally touched it and it was smoking hot IN THE OFF POSITION. It could have easily started a fire where it was sitting on the bed. But other than the fact that it could burn your family in their sleep, the camera's actually really awful. Poor poor picture quality, just read some of the "professional" reviews on that. I have yet to find one redeeming feature about it. I'm probably going to ship it back to Samsung and let it burn down their house. Do not, I repeat, do not buy this. I have always been a strong supporter of Samsung products, but this may have changed all that.
- Don't buy this camera, even though it is cheap, its a waste of money all together. Its frustrating how when you are trying to record family memories and it keeps telling you errors. It worked well for the first year we owned it but now its just collecting dust on the shelf. I don't even know how many DVDs we have wasted. And on top of that you can't watch whatever you did record. Waste of time and money!
- My husband gave this camera to me for my 29th birthday, just in time to record my sons baptism, which we had done at our church when he was only 8 days old. The film is completely black - you can hear the baptism but can't see it. This camera takes EXTREMELY poor videos - can not handle low lighting at all, which HELLO makes it useless to me.
- I'm going to make this short and sweet. This camera is OK. It works, and in good lighting can make a decent quality picture; however, more times than not, the pic quality is horrible, and the battery life wont last the length of a 20 min DVD. The record to a SD card is even worse. my wifes digi camera takes better video than this camera, and the still pic feature is worthless.
To sum it up, I would stay away from this camcorder.
- Ive never owned a camcorder before I purchased this one so I was excited when I had bought it right before my baby shower in '07. I thought that I would be able to record my baby shower and the birth of my son with no problem. Back then I was a little upset over the price, $250 approx. But i had thought that since it was a dvd camcorder that must be a good price since every other one I had seen was more expensive. Anyway I recorded my baby shower without a problem. The video was fine. The battery life was ok. Then all the problems started after that day. I would record and the video would start to blur. The camcorder would start to shake when trying to read the disk. Then the battery life was becoming very horrible. It would start to die within a half an hour. It especially made me mad when I went to look back at the video from the birth of my son and there were parts missing because the battery would die and the person that was recording could not record everything because the battery was dieing. I am just going to probably give this one to my sister and buy a much better one. Its just my opinion, but I would not advise anyone to buy this camcorder.
Oh before I go, there were a few things that did not piss me off about it. The picture was not always bad and my dvds were not always unreadable.

- This camera eats through regular batteries. I go through two in about a day of average picture taking. It also has this strange thing when you are finished taking a picture. Most cameras take about a second to process the picture. For some reason, this camera takes anywhere from 5 to 10 seconds per picture. So, if you are into fast picture taking, this is not the camera for you.
About the only good thing it does, is it takes really nice pictures. But, you have to have the flash on, have a steady hand, and be willing to wait for it to process. The steady hand thing on the camera doesn't actually let you take a picture with a shaky hand and have the picture come out clear. It just tells you that it is trying to take a clear picture. The picture will still come out blurry, just not as blurry as it would if you were using a film camera. The macro feature isn't the best. You are better off not even trying with it.
Now let's talk about getting the pictures off of your camera. If you have an SD card reader, that is great, use it. Otherwise, don't lose the cable that comes with it. If you do, good luck trying to find a replacement. It isn't your standard camera cord. The connection is much smaller than normal and must have its own cord.
The video feature is ok, it just doesn't work with VLC or Windows Media. The sound only works on the camera and be prepared to talk really loud to have the camera even record it. And no special features like high speed. It is just a regular video camera.
If this is your first camera, it is a good one to get started on. It will teach you to be patient and will help you get to know the standard camera features. But, if you are into taking pictures of anything, go with a different camera. This one will just drive you up a wall.
- poor quality I cannot encourage anyone to buy this product from a shutter that fell off to a non working flash and poor customer service, this is not a reliable camera
- I have to give this product a fair review even though I lost some money on it.
I got this camera about two years ago and used it for a year, it worked great. Picture quality was excellent for the price and video was good too. But about a year ago the camera just flat out stopped working. It pretty much wouldn't turn on. The warranty happened to be expired as of that week too(of course). So the manufacturer says the reason is because I used Alkaline when it only takes NiMH, or rechargeable.
So deep within the instruction manual there is a little note about this fact. It was really my fault but I am sure plenty of others have made this mistake.
Great product, just use the batteries included even if it is a pain.
- First I will say that mine lasted for one and a half years before it broke (there is now something wrong with the lens and any picture I take is extremely blurry).
It was good for the price when I bought it, and I didn't need professional-quality images -- I mainly wanted to take pictures of my craft projects, and I also ended up taking many portraits and vacation photos. For these purposes it worked pretty well.
The battery life was pretty impressive -- recently it lasted for two demanding days touring Washington and a Smithsonian museum.
It's very easy to get used to using this camera, and the video quality is certainly not bad.
The zoom is pretty good, but its farthest zoom setting is hardly worth using as the pictures turn out very grainy.
Mine was the green one -- such a great color and I can't say it's not something I care about :).
If you're looking for a nice, cheap, reliable point-and-shoot camera, this is a good way to go. I'll miss mine a lot!
- I bought this little camera approx. a year ago. Takes great pictures and is really easy to use. The Shutter started not closing approx. 8 months ago, so I assumed it was a battery problem. Over time, it started not closing and now it won't open, nor will it close. I emailed Tech support at Samsung, and they basically gave me the run around. I love this little camera and I do recommend purchasing it at such a low price, but I just hope it holds up better for someone else. I have since bought a new Canon camera. It is great, but I miss some of the features that this little jewel has.
