  1. On the good side, the photos I've taken with this so far are great. Nice colors, sharp, and low noise. I have no complaints as far as this unit's actual functioning as a picture taking machine. And, as others have said, its really small, and the whole lens is internal to the camera body - it doesn't telescope outwards like some other competing models which keeps the unit thin, even while in use.

But a few things dissapointed me - none are deal breakers, but...

    * Camera connects to computer via USB interface, but the connector on the camera is not a standard USB or mini-USB connector. Instead have to use proprietary cable included with the camera.

    * The menu system is a bit odd - its not unlearnable, but its not all that intuitive at first either.

    * The materials used on the exterior of the camera a) are slippery - the strap is definetly needed - and b) are all glossy or shiny, so fingerprint very easily. Its pretty much impossible to touch the camera without leaving visible fingerprints and smudges. Couple that with some buttons and other controls that really are just too small (and I don't have large hands), and I think it leaves a bit to be desired, ergonomically speaking.

    * The lens cover does not close when in playback (not shooting) mode - seems like it should - especially because a couple of buttons are located in the perfect position to lead to accidently touching the lens.

    * The color is listed as "black", but its really a dark brown, and when the sun hits it the brown comes out a lot more. If that's important to you, be forwarned. It seems like the s52 (not the s52c model reviewed here) is available in a color that is actually black, but the s52c is not.

  2. I was so excited to receive my brand new CoolPix S52 (Eco-Green), and the photos were really quite excellent. I was also pleased that it was very easy to learn how to use the various camera features. HOWEVER, when I used the movie or voice recording modes there was a very high level of awful static sound recorded EVERY TIME. I upgraded to the best memory card I could find, and that did not make a bit of difference.

Naturally, I returned the camera under Warranty (with sample video/audio) to Nikon TWICE for repair or replacement. To my dismay, they returned it to me both times stating "Your unit was thoroughly checked and was found completely within the factory standards". They also said not to expect the sound quality to be excellent because it didn't have a "sophisticated microphone". Maybe so, but it shouldn't be so poor that you cringe when you listen to the playback.

I was so disappointed that I sold the camera used and replaced it with a Canon PowerShot SD850 IS (Digital Elph) Canon PowerShot SD850 IS 8.0 MP Digital Elph Camera with 4x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom that I am extremely happy with (both photos and sound are fantastic).

Bottom line - if recording movies is important to you, don't buy this camera. It will be a big disappointment and a waste of money. If you decide to buy it, be sure to test the movie and sound recording modes soon after you receive it to be sure you are satisfied.

  3. For some reason Nikon has removed two features from the Coolpix s52c that existed in the Coolpix s7c thereby crippling the Nikon s52c.

First, you should be aware that unlike the Coolpix s7c, the Coolpix s52c is missing the Panorama Assist feature found under the Scenes option. Why Nikon would remove this feature is a mystery to me.

The Coolpix s52c is sold and advertised as a WiFi camera. Unlike the Coolpix s7c, which can wirelessly transmit pictures directly to your own computer hard drive, the Coolpix s52c can only wirelessly transmit pictures to Nikon's MyPictureTown web service or email. Not a great option if you don't have a very fast connection to the Internet. And what happens if Nikon discontinues their MyPictureTown web service? The WiFi feature of the Coolpix s52c becomes useless.

It really is a shame that Nikon has crippled the Coolpix s52c in these two areas. I hope Nikon will restore these two features in a future firmware upgrade.

    Until then - buyer beware.

  4. This camera has an incredible set of features for the price. It takes great pictures and is fast. The only issue I have with it is the wireless. In the advertising they make it sound like you can upload the pictures directly to your PC and that isn't true, you have to set it up to go through a web site then copy to your PC. other than that, greta camera, good price, excellent quality.

  5. The camera itself is great. The WIFi feature is a waste because it limits you to sending a down-sampled version of your image to a Nikon-owned web site - NOT your hard drive, which would be a much better use of the networking feature.

Hopefully they will kick-out a firmware update that un-cripples this feature. Why would I want to upload an image to someone else's web site (with limited storage).

5 comments about Nikon Coolpix S52 9MP Digital Camera Zoom with 3x Optical Vibration Reduction Zoom (Midnight Black).
  1. This camera is more than what the average person could ever want in a camera, the 9MP is enough to sell it but the zoom qualities, and picture qualities!...I would recomend this to anyone who is on a tighter buget than most, from what I have discoverd this camera will Prevail!

  2. I needed a VIP gift for a person so important that other people carry their camera and shoot their pictures for them. And so I began testing little cameras.
I ended up keeping this one for myself.
Why? Well, after shooting 1500 pictures with this camera, I can tell you.
First, small and sleek, beautifully designed, the optics are internal with no lens to protrude. It carries in a pocket like a hundred dollar bill.
Second, a 3 inch LCD that makes it so easy to check focus, or review pictures. A huge and useful viewing screen. There is no optical viewfinder or any need for one.
Image quality is very good, and Nikon handles noise and high ISO speeds so very well.
The shake reduction really works: and I can shoot from a fast moving car at high ISO speeds with no noticeable blur. The higher speed is predictably grainy, but the grain is pleasingly mild.
Battery life is good, 150 shots or so. When I feel serious, I carry a second charged battery.
If you like, turn off the flash and turn off the the synthetic camera sounds from "settings", and you have a very discreet camera that would please James Bond.
The auto focus works well, even without the focus assist lamp.
At first I had a few shots where the focus would not lock.
Then I found that the secret to focusing seems to be holding the camera still. After I discovered that, I had no more focus problems.
I also found that the macro mode continuously focuses. It draws a little more from the battery, but can be useful for faster shooting.
The color saturation is very good, even the auto white balance works, and the image you see is what you capture.
Nikon means good images. I am Happy. Well, almost...
    ....
The time to focus an image can run to 2 seconds or so.
The time to write an image to the SD card can be 3 seconds or more, even with high speed cards. In fact, there does not seem to be any difference in write speed between high speed and regular cards.
Expect to have to concentrate while shooting, which may not be a bad thing after all. Not quite "point and shoot", but "hold down the shutter release half way to focus, then frame and shoot".
It suits me, but I am from the old school of the manual camera.
Another annoyance is that the lens stays open while reviewing pictures, and can easily get smudged by a wandering fingertip.
The power switch is not well defined by touch, and is easily turned on accidentally. I learned to set the display timeout to go to standby mode in 30 seconds to save battery life in case of accidental turn on.
So, if you are patient and can live with a few annoyances, you will have a sleek little camera that goes anywhere and gets the most use.
I really like it after all.

  3. I am a novice photographer, who was looking for a good quality point-and-shoot to (hopefully) improve my ability to take good pictures. Specific features that interested me in this camera: the picture stabilization that compensates for hand-shaking; the compact size; usability of the interface and (I admit it) the 'cool' factor of this Nikon.

Some small gripes: The nonwireless version of the camera - the S52 - comes with a battery charger and charger cord. You cannot recharge the batteries through the USB connector to the camera; the only way to recharge is to have the battery charger at hand. Thus, you either have to lug around the charger and cord with you, or have a second charged battery for long outings. This isn't really made clear in any of the product literature online - I did not understand this aspect until I read the user manual.

Another small gripe: The S52 Nikon camera here on Amazon.com here is at a great price (about $50 less than the price Nikon quotes on its website). I expected there to be at least a cheapo carrying case - for example, a felt bag - for the camera, but Nikon does not include any kind of case in the package. The camera is indeed small enough to slip in a pocket or purse, but it seems like a slipcase of some kind would have been a nice addition to the kit. Especially since there are a number of accessories you might need to take with you.

The camera itself is quite elegant, and packed with nice features. I love the camera but I am irritated about the cumbersome two-piece charger.

  5. I purchased this camera about 5 weeks ago, just before leaving on a 3 week overseas trip, so had little time to familiarize myself with the majority of the numerous features. But the camera is easy to use, at least as far as the basic "point and shoot" practice goes. I'm very pleased with the large display, although it sometimes still is hard to see the shot when in a bright outdoor setting. But I typically could make out some basic outlines, as opposed to my previous p & s pocket size Minolta camera (S2), where the display was useless in any lighting conditions brighter than daytime outdoor with a full cloud cover. That, as well as the fact that the battery charge on the Minolta seemed to last for fewer and fewer shots, even on replacement batteries.
A viewfinder (on the Nikon) would be nice in those very bright outdoor situations, but I guess that that is the trade-off for getting a screen that is almost the size of the camera (I'm not kidding: it's 2 3/8 inches wide on the camera which is 3 3/8 wide overall). I'm very pleased with the quality of the shots (I took about 200), some of which were shot from a moving train, and still seem sharp.
My main reason for writing this review is to make others aware of two things: 1. The camera comes with its own battery charger. The reason I bring this up is that no-where in the written specs on Amazon did it say anything on this topic. Furthermore, somewhere on the Amazon website it also drew attention to "Customers who purchased this (camera), also purchased the following:" one of which was a battery charger. I went to the Nikon website, and got the impression that a charger was included, which is what I would have expected. Since I could not afford the time it would take to order a battery charger once I received the camera and found no charger, I phoned Amazon customer service to ask the question. That person came back on line after researching this for several minutes, and told me that the camera did NOT come with a charger. So I of course ordered the charger (from a different supplier than the camera, all thru Amazon). Both Amazon and this second supplier were very accomodating in giving me a refund, as well as (Amazon) refunding my s & h charge, but it still cost me some $7 for return shipping.
The second issue is the tight fit of this camera in the Nikon Coolpix leather case (also offered by Amazon, from yet a third supplier). It is very easy to inadvertently turn the camera on when pushing the camera into the case, and evidently the camera stays "on" until the battery is totally discharged. Nikon had no suggestions / never heard of this problem. I managed to pound out the top of both sides of the case enough to not have that happen again.

  1. The item came with a problem but it was successfully replaced and it didn't take too long, so I'm satisfied.

  2. Unfortunately I was only able to take about 100 photos before I got a lens error message with this camera. For as much research as I had done before purchasing a camera, I wasn't expecting to have this happen with a Nikon. I have owned a Nikon Coolpix 5900 for the last few years and unfortunately it was dropped by accident and met it's demise. BTW, the 5900 is a GREAT camera for a simple point and shoot. I have taken a few 1,000 pictures and have enjoyed it every time it's come out of it's case.

I never got much time to play with this new camera but I'm giving it 3 stars because I believe that it would have probably been a good camera but not a great camera. I know that it did so much more than my last camera but for some reason I didn't care for the feel of it. Nothing specific I can point out though.

So I have since returned it to AMAZON and that was the most painless experience I have ever had returning something in my life! Yes I became gun shy to purchse this same Nikon again and instead purchased the Canon SD1100is. I have only owned it for about 4 days but so far I am loving it. Hopefully it will stand the test of time!

I am still a believer in the Nikon product and have been brand loyal to them for years. The Canon brand definitely has a level to live up to but I know that 4 days does not a perfect camera make. I look forward to stretching it's limits.

  3. I'm so glad I chose this camera over the other options I had. The picture quality is amazing, the video quality is amazing and the battery life is amazing. It's so simple and easy to use and you get wonderful results. I definitely recommend this camera. There's not a thing that I don't like about it.

  4. This is a great little camera. Great photos and my wife carries it in her purse every day. No missed photo ops!

  5. easy to use with a variety of setting to best capture a sunset or other scenes.
    cute unit.
would have preferred more optical zoom but could not find in a camera at this price range.

  1. It arrived on time & in perfect condition. It is definitively a great camera for beginners.

  2. I wanted a camera that was not as heavy as the D200 or D300. I am very happy with the D40. The lens is a pretty good also. Together they are very easy to carry around. Good photos and accurate exposures from my point of view. I am an experienced amateur who takes a lot of family and floral photos. You will be very pleased with this camera and lens. I would also add the 55-200mm VR to complete the package.

  3. I purchased this item more than 6 months back from Amazon. It is a wonderful entry level SLR. Even if you use it as a point and shoot (in the Auto mode) you get much better pictures than a non-SLR camera. And of course, it really helps if you want to start using all the features and functionalities of an SLR. I have nothing to say that hasn't been said here, but am leaving a review and a well deserved 5 star for the item. It is a classic. Just check Ken Rockwell's guide to hear what he has to say about the D40.

  4. Hey guys,
I just got this camera and this camera is awesome. I am having alot of fun with it right now and am gonna go practice taking shots and stuff. I been a long time customer with Amazon and they are great for shipping. I have no complaint for this camera. So far I am loving it and the 18mm-55 lens that come with it is really nice and you can make your photos come up close by trimming/cropping it. So this is a must buy camera if you are an amatuer photographer, then get a better one later on if you want to. Have fun with the camera if you get it =) Later

  5. This is the camera that I've been waiting for. After years of using a point and shoot, it was time to upgrade to a dSLR. This camera and lens kit are a phenomenal value and the photos are perfect quality.

There is no need to buy a more expensive camera if you are new to the dSLR market!

5 comments about Nikon D80 10.2MP Digital SLR Camera Kit with 18-135mm AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor Lens.
  1. My third Nikon digital SLR (D50 & D40x). I purchased the D80 as an upgrade when the prices fell. The camera performs great in most situations but there is a tendency for photos to be soft compared to the ones taken D40x. I also experience focus problems when there is a slight fall off in lighting. This is also something I didn't encounter with the other cameras. Overall I am pleased with the results.

  2. I am a student Photographer and I recently upgraded to the D80 from a D50 and have been very impressed. This camera was purchased refurbished from Adorama for $600 (Body) and paired with a Nikon 18-55dx lens.

    Wonderful Updates
    1) This camera can shoot in RAW + JPG Fine
    2) This camera supports SDHC Cards
    3) The Image quality is much better than the D50 or new D40
    4) No lens limitations and works well with my sunpak flash.
    5) On camera flash works great. A huge improvement over the D50.
    6) Very good auto focus!

    Nice Extras
    1) Big screen and onboard editing capability
    2) High ISO

    Downsides
    1) Cost (the D40x can be purchased refurbished for $400 with less features)

Overall I am pleased that I went with the D80 over the D40x and it is miles more advanced than the D50. The auto focus system in the D80 is great and with one wedding the camera will more than pay for itself.

  3. I'm going to make this clear right off the bat, i love this camera and the following review will tell you why.

I started off as a complete novice, as innocent as a baby when it comes to photography, I recieved a Sony Cybershot W55 for Christmas in 2007, which was similar to my mothers P150 Cybershot, which basically packed all the same features as the p150 except one critical feature that lead me to the D80, the Sony Cybershot lacked a manual mode, the W55 was completely automatic.

So I began to look into DSLR's as a suitable replacement for a completely automatic Sony Cybershot W55, which i could not take manual pictures, sports shots, or slow exposures with.

I considered the major players first, Canon, Sony and Nikon on my dad's recommendation. I found that Sony's SlR, the Alpha line, pretty much sucked in terms of their performance in low light, the only attraction was the live view, which basically defeats the purpose of an slr anyway.

So now the only two competitors were Canon and Nikon, and by this time, my budget jumped from the initial 400 to 750 dollars which was the starting price for slr's. I read some reviews for the Canon D-Rebel line of slrs, this is the thing about Canon THEY PUNCH OUT THE SAME STUFF W/DIFFERENT NAMES AND COLORS WITH ALL THE SAME FEATURES INCLUDED!!!!!!!!!!!!! the XT and XTi were no different to me and by the time i had purchased the D80, the Xsi had just come out.

I was turned off of the Canon line for two reasons, 1) were negative reviews about the crappy performance and durability of the Rebels, the former of which I noticed myself. Plus, the Rebel's felt cheap in my hands and too delacate; and 2) after doing a lot of spec grazing and review watching on CNET i turned finally to Nikon.

At that point, the competition was going to be between the D60 and the D80, both of which were in my budget.

    THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE TWO:

D60's matrix metering was flawed, while the same system in the D80 worked like a charm, that was the main reason i wanted it, along with modest aperture settings, that stretch from 3.5-22 and 5.6-36 with the 18-55 VR Nikkor, (3.5-22 is at the minimum focal length of 18mm while 5.6-36 happens at the max focal length of 55mm) the final thing that sold me on it were the large number of great reviews from people who loved this camera coupled with some fantastic customer images submitted by people owning this camera.

While the d60 does have a higher ISO index, up to 3200, I find the Nikon D80's ISO 1600 to be pretty good unless the light around me requires it.

    The PRO's of the D80

    1. Excellent color reproduction in all three color modes, saturation and hue is very good.
    2. Sharpness and contrast (buyers should change the default settings to the highest sharpness and normal contrast in CUSTOM mode to acheive the best pictures) are spot on.
    3. Lightning fast: powers up in an instant with very quick shutter response, i don't miss a single shot with this camera.
    4. Matrix (multi) metering system: very good unless the subject is sillhoetted by a bright sky in which case you should switch to center or spot weighted metering.
    5. Intuitive: i barely read the manual for this thing, the buttons are easy to use and manipulate.
    6. Speed: I don't usually use the built in flash because i normally shoot in M,A,S or P modes and i can adjust the ISO to the perfect setting.
    7. 1/4000 of a second to 30 seconds is a modest gift, and allows me to almost never employ alternative means of lighting WHICH MEANS I SAVE MONEY TOO!!!!!!!!!!

    Who should buy this camera?

-Anyone looking to upgrade from a point and shoot with a budget of $1000 or less.
-Anybody looking to grow as a photographer, by using this camera I HAVE LEARNED SO MUCH ABOUT PHOTOGRAPHY!!!!!!!! AND I'M STILL LEARNING.
-Anyone looking to buy something worth their money!!!!!!!!

    NOTES:

PEOPLE HAVE BEEN WRITING NEGATIVE REVIEWS ABOUT THE QUALITY OF THE PICTURS WITH THIS CAMERA.

to those who wrote such reviews, listen to this:

take advantage of the manual, aperture, and shutter priority modes, often times i use those over P mode and always over all that other crap like "Landscape" and "Portrait" which don't do anything, if you want good looking pictures, take advantage of the manual opportunities presented with this camera, IF YOU ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT UNDEREXPOSED OR OVEREXPOSED PICTURES, YOU ARE PROBABLY USING THE AUTOMATIC MODES AND WOULD GET ALONG FINE WITH A POINT AND SHOOT

  4. Excellent! Nikon D80 10.2MP Digital SLR Camera Kit with 18-55mm ED AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor Lens

  5. The Nikon D80 is an excellent camera, with more features than other SLR cameras in its price range. My only disappointment is that the D90 was announced one month after I purchased the D80. From what I can see, the D90 is a better camera for the same price.

  5. easy to use with a variety of setting to best capture a sunset or other scenes.
    cute unit.
would have preferred more optical zoom but could not find in a camera at this price range.
    thanks nikon

5 comments about Nikon Coolpix P60 8.1MP Digital Camera with 5x Optical Zoom with Vibration Reduction (Black).
  1. I own a Nikon DSLR, but wanted an additional smaller camera to carry with me in my purse for spur of the moment opportunities. I chose this particular camera based on my criteria of size, price, quality, and PRESENCE OF A VIEWFINDER (difficult to find on a camera this size). I have used it for two weeks and find it to do what I want it to. I prefer my SLR, but overall, this is a good investment. The AA batteries are inexpensive and I expect the quality of my photos will improve over time. The image stabilization is a welcome feature.

  2. I wanted a point and shoot for easy shots. My first digital camera was a Nikon Coolpix 950, and it was a rock solid camera that still works 8 years later. My second digital camera was a Nikon Coolpix 995, and it was a rock-solid camera that still works 6 years later.

My Nikon P60 worked for a week. I didn't even carry it around with me; it rode in the passenger seat of my car. The lens mechanism failed and wouldn't move in and out.

Nikon needs to go back to making good point and shoots. The 950 used to be the digital camera that all other digital cameras were compared against.

  3. Nikon's P60 is a great point and shoot digital camera with a very important feature, a view finder. The P60 is the 5th Nikon I've purchased starting with the Coolpix 775 (which I gave to my 5 year old), all of them are still in service. I use these cameras primarily for work and as careful as I try to be, they are used hard. While my 5600 was out for repair I purchased an L14 which for a variety of reasons I do not like, including lack of a view finder. I knew this when I purchased but thought I'd give it a try. Decided to try the P60 and have not been disappointed.

One thing I feel purchasers must understand is what they are buying and then learn how to use it. If you want a camera that does it all, you need a different camera, don't buy a Brownie and expect a Hasselblad. I buy these cameras to take thousands of reference shots while skiing. They are small, fit in my breast pocket and can be operated with one hand. For snap shots they are great, but when I need the money shot I get out the SLR. A lot of complaints I see in reviews are a result of not learning how to use the camera and work within its limitations.

The P60 has some draw backs, it can be a bit slow especially the flash refresh. I didn't give it 5 stars mainly because of the placement of the memory card. Having to work around the batteries is a design flaw that surprises me from Nikon. You also have to push the monitor button very hard or a few times before it activates.

The optics and zoom are great, I have been pleasantly surprised with the digital end of the zoom. I just took pics of the Waterfalls installation in NYC, zooming into the digital zone from Manhattan over to Governors Island about a half a mile, with excellent results. Falling water is a challenge without zoom and camera shake, the pictures are clear and the water frozen (no tripod).

Other reviews have addressed various technical aspects and again, while important, I think may overshadow the utilitarian nature of a point and shoot.

I would recommend the Nikon P60 to anyone.

    UPDATING THIS REVIEW POST VACATION:

Just returned from vacation and another good test of the P60. The P60 performed great and after 600+ photos (both 3M & 5M size) I'm still on the same set of batteries. No flash shots were taken but to those who complain about "eating batteries" .. I would recommend buying better batteries or getting high quality rechargeables. I spring for Lithium
and keep some rechargeables as extras.

As mentioned before, I have several Coolpix and have never experienced any quality (product) issues. I have had two repaired but again after the way they are used, I don't hold that against the camera.

  4. Outstanding combination of features, performance, and price. Sharp details from closeups to miles away (see nine-mile coastline view). Electronic viewfinder option is great for composing pictures in sunlight. No worries about battery running down -- just pop in two fresh AA batteries and keep shooting. Movies are great, so buy large memory chip to have plenty of room. I love it!!

  5. The Nikon P60 has really nice features for the price: it has a handy (electronic) view-finder (that isn't painful to use because you don't need to squint like mad), useful 5x zoom and helpful optical image stabilization (VR). However, to me, the deal breaker was the fact that it uses the ubiquitous AA cell instead of an expensive proprietary battery. This is great for traveling - if your batteries die, you can get replacement AA's just about anywhere.

Having said these, the biggest issue I have with the camera is its quality or lack there of. I had the P60 for less than a month and it doesn't work anymore. It has never been dropped, always in a padded case when not in use, and since it is the wife's camera, it is normally in a nice, big purse. It complains about a `lens error' and I can't take pictures with it; I can, however, view some of the pictures though - yea, big woof. Someone at Nikon seriously botched the Quality Assurance (QA) on this thing.

I had another Nikon years ago, the Coolpix 4300, and its quality was abysmal as well; should have learned my lesson, or Nikon should have replaced its useless QA personnel(s) so that the P60 would be a bit more reliable.

On the other hand, just before owning the P60, I had the Casio EX-Z120 compact camera. It was as tough as a brick - the case is completely made of metal. It was used all over Asia, dropped numerous times (even on cement), and missing a couple of screws, but for almost 2 years it never let me down until it was lost/stolen.

I greatly lament buying Nikon compact cameras; should have bought Canon, or another EX-Z120. I can only take solace on the fact that Nikon may honour their 2 year warranty.

  1. My wife loves this camera. It fits in her purse and take fantastic pictures.

  2. A very good point and shoot camera. I have had several different Nikons cameras and I have enjoyed them all. This one takes really high quality pictures. The menu system is a little different than my Nikon L5 but I am able to adapt. So far the battery has been able to meet my needs. I may have to buy a second battery when I take it on travel. Overall I am very pleased with the camera. Nikon makes a very good product.

  3. Was looking for an efficient camera with a broad range of capabilities. This camera did the job.

The strap for carrying the camera should be used all the time because it can easily slip out of hand without it.
My first CoolPix had a strap that was long enough to carry around the neck.

That was a much more secure method of safety from dropping the camera. I tucked it into a pocket, or belt and never had to worry if it slipped out of place. (I purchased a case but it is a pain to be taking it in and out). Other than that, - it is great! I plan to purchase an extra battery as an emergency backup.

  4. Nikon Coolpix S550 10MP Digital Camera with 5x Optical Zoom (Graphite Black)
This camera has more technology in sugh a small device that it is hard to comprehend. It takes excellent pictures in the worst of conditions, and it is easy to operate. I would recomend this camera to anyone who wants a professional point and shoot camera.

  5. This is the first camera of this type that I have owned. All of my other camers are high end type. We love it, it takes excellent pictures and is easy to operate. It has some of the features of the more expensive camers, and is point and shoot which makes it easy for the wife to use. I would recommend this camera to anyone who likes auto and no fuss in cameras.

  1. Bought this battery for my Nikon P5100. It lasts a surprisingly long time in this camera. I have yet to have it run out of power during a photo taking trip.

  2. This was clearly advertised as a "Nikon" battery but when it came it was a cheap generic substitute.

  3. This is the first camera I own, that uses this type battery. My old camera used "AA" and I mean used them. I had to keep at least 12 spare batteries ready because after a few shots the batteries were dead. Also, it is light and doesn't take much space in my camera bag, compared to 12 "AA" batteries. So in comparison to them, this battery is great, in every feature. As compared to other batteries of the same kind, I cannot say how it compares. But for hours of shots with one battery, this is the one. Since it is still new, I don't know how long it will last. I am anxious to see, but for now, it keeps going and going, and going.

  4. Just what I was looking for to replace my battery and keep taking pictures when I run out of power in my Nikon Coolpix.

  5. Yes, the order worked fine. I have just asked for two new EN-EL5 batteries and worked. No more comments.
