- i bought this camera when it first came out 3 years ago and have not been dissapointed. This camera has gotten a workout over the past 3 years, iwth four kids lots of travel and picture taking. .I am an avid scrapbooker and this camera never let me down. Unlike others, i have overused this camerea, and have never ever had aproblem with the battery latch. Still has the original, and have never had to send it back for any type of repair til now....I dropped it in hawaii and now it turns itself on and off at will. I figured instead of paying for repair,i'd just buy a new one.... cant find one anywhere... The best feature with this camera is the rapid shutter. I never missed a smile or a special momemt due to the delay that so many digital cameras have. It's the best i have found so far. I have tried out all the new cameras and even the newer kodaks are not as fast as this one. I found this site after doing an online search to see if i could buy this camerea anywhere. I dont think you will be dissapointted with this camera. Goodluck!
- It takes great pictures, and has very easy controls, we have this camera for a few years and are pretty satisfied. however the lens often gets out of position, and has to be repositioned (a little scary to do as you're constantly afraid you'll break it) in order for the camera to shut. We even had to send it in to replace the lens after it got totaly bent. Lately the speaker broke, but the microphone still works wonderfully, so it isn't much of a problem. All in all its a pretty good camera, as its been taking good pictures steadily. One negative though is that although you can set it to take multiples of the same image, you have to pause a little before you can take another shot. Also there is no in camera editing.
- I have owned this camera for 2 years and it needs to be replaced. It takes nice pictures especially when you choose the scene mode which matches the photo you are taking. The hardware easily breaks. As indicated in other reviews, the battery latch didn't last very long before it broke off. The rotary dial to turn the camera on is very sticky. You really need to force it to rotate it.
- I bought this camera as a display model from sears and i've had it for over three years already and i love it! shortly after it was purchased, it began acting strangely (turning itself on and off), but kodak offers a free year warranty and i sent it in to be repaired--they replaced the entire processing unit and it didn't cost me a thing! i will be sad when it finally dies on me.
- I am a photografic hobbist. The Kodak is my 2nd digital camera. I have shot pictures under many different conditions and subjects. I take all pics at the 6MP setting because I often pull out and enlarge a subject from the picture.
My kodak does a great job with its variety of settings. It's great.

5 comments about Kodak Easyshare P712 7.1MP Digital Camera with 12x Image Stabilized Zoom.
- In my honest opinion, after several other digital cameras and much research, the P712 is the highest quality point and shoot camera at 12x optical zoom and 7.1 MP. It was also the easiest to use, which made it VERY attractive. I recently upgraded it by purchasing the telescopic and wide angle lenses and was exremely pleased! I also love the rechargeable batteries used in the P712, they have very long life, 2 of them last over 500 pics at full zoom over a long weekend, which means I don't have to worry about recharging them for the entire vacation!!
- This is a great digital camera. It's light weight and the 2.5 LCD screen is a super size for me. I don't know a lot about digital camera's, but I know that I really like this one. I enjoy taking a lot of pictures, and I mainly take them in 'auto' mode. But this super camera has so many optional modes. I'm a little shaky so I really like the fact that it has the 'stabilizer'. I also bought the 'wide angle zoom' lens and had to buy the Kodak Adaptor for it. I wanted to zoom a little further than the impressionable 12x zoom aloud me. This is quite a unique camera and I truly enjoy using it.
- I love everything about this camera!! I am not a good picture taker, but this camera is easy to use. My pictures are GREAT!!! LOVE IT!! LOVE IT!! LOVE IT!!!!!!
- I own the P712 and have had mine since July 2007. This camera is rugged and a real performer. I originally started with a Z740 Kodak point and shoot and moved up to the P712 because of the good results I had with my Z740. The accessory lenses (55mm) I had purchased for the Z740 worked just fine with the P712 and I've been doing a huge amount of macro photography with the new set up.
I do note that in movie mode, the motor noise of this camera is very noticeable, but luckily, that is a rare mode I select with this bridge camera. The battery life is somewhere around 250 - 270 shots per charge and I did buy a second battery to keep me shooting for extended day photo shoots.
The menus are easy to understand and I've been pleased with the image stabilization. I do recommend that you get a nice tripod set and beanbag for macro work, since even the image stabilization is overcome by camera shake at the magnification levels needed for macro shots.
I did purchase the flash attachment specifically for this camera and was very pleased with the results. All in all, a very good purchase and one I have no regrets about. My only wish is that Kodak will bring back it's professional line and focus on building high-end DSLR cameras since I've become loyal to the brand and think the world of the cameras I have purchased from them.
I recommend the P712 for the user who isn't quite ready for a DSLR and who wants enough control over photographs to do interesting work and yet still has the benefit of automation of exposure working for you.
The P712 is a good camera and worth every penny! Buy it!
- This is the third Kodak Digital camera I have owned and the best yet. The problem with past digital cameras, not just Kodak, was shutter lag. Press the shutter and the camera shot the picture a moment later. Not good for action shots.
The Kodak P712 shutter is nearly instantaneous, like a film camera. The 12X zoom is a great feature as well.
The only down side to this camera is the zoom is a little noisy. A small price to pay for a great camera.
Never had a problem with a Kodak camera. Nice to know American quality can build a product to compete with imports.

- Camera arrived in excellent condition approximately 36 hours after I placed the order!!! Granted, I live slightly close to the seller, I thought it would be at least 3 or 4 days before delivery. This is the perfect Christmas gift!
- Bought this as a Christmas present for my mom after getting my son one for his birthday. It's really easy to use and for the price it takes really good pictures. I recommend this camera to any digital novice.
- Camera takes really good pictures and is easy to use. My daughter is pleased with it. Very fast shipping.
- It a wonderful product, takes amazing pictures and easy to use. The only problem I had was with the company they contract out to for repair work. The camera worked great for almost a year but then, without warning, the screen suddenly filled with horizontal white lines during all modes. I obtained a return authorization from Kodak and shipped it their repair center. After three months of unanswered phone calls and e-mails, I called an 800 number asked them why it's taking so long for my camera to get repaired. They told me the camera's on hold for unspecified customer damage. That's nuts! The camera was well taken care, never dropped or exposed to liquids. After contacting Kodak to look into this they came through and I got my camera back the next week. They did an excellent job repairing it but negelected to return my 1gb SD card. Oh well, at least I got the camera back. If I hadn't pressed it with Kodak, I don't know if I would have seen it ever again.
- A great camera, takes fine pictures for under $100. My 1st digital camera and my only complaints are that after using my SLR Pentax 1000 for years its hard not to have the viewfinder close to my eye, and its small size compared to the 35mm.

- I bought this camera for my wife for Christmas. She has asked me for the last 6 months for a digital camera and finally broke down and got her one. She loves it. It simple straigth forward. She is 100% happy.
- I bought this for my 12 year old daughter and while perfect for her, it would not be something I would purchase and enjoy for myself. The shutter speed is way to slow for me. I do own a Kodak that I love, but sadly Kodak doesn't make it anymore. Maybe I am just comparing this one to mine. The one I have is a Kodak V705 with the dual lens, very fast and takes excellent pictures.
- I would stick with Nikon & Canon, you're best off in buying those than wasting your time on this camera. I hate to give bad reviews on a product but this camera is really below poor on it's image qualities, I just can't believe the price Kodak had on this camera. The pictures are also grainy. Let's just say my phone camera takes better pictures than this camera, no exaggeration!
- THE CAMERA WAS AS DESCRIBED AND A GREAT PRICE. THE SHIPPING WAS EXCELLENT. PLEASURE TO DO BUSINESS WITH.
THANKS
- This camera will not charge from the USB port. Be prepared to buy a separate charger. Kodak needs to acknowledge this problem. Don't believe me? Read all the complaints on their own web site message boards. Nice camera and it takes nice pics but does not recharge with USB port.

- $ I just sent my camera in for repair to a location recommended by Kodak. I just received an estimate of $85.00 plus shipping, to repair the MCU, whatever that is. Anyway, as all may already know, this camera can be purchased here on Amazon for $95.00. So you be the judge. This camera should be advertised as a "disposable camera". When it costs more to repair something than to replace, it's usually called junk. Never again Kodak. Once burnt twice shy.
- I've been using this camera for a about 2 months now and over all its a pretty nice digital camera. Only real complaint I have is finding another USB locally. For the life of me I cant find mine and the port is so little that none of my other millions of adaptors will work. Overall a nice around time, quick snap shots of the kids camera.
- Why is Amazon selling a camera for $198.89 when Kodak's MSRP is US $139.00? According to the specs, this camera does not include the printer dock, so it's not the combo price.
- This product works very poorly, especially if you are attempting to use rechargeable batteries. I'd say 80% of the time when I try to recharge it, it is unsuccessful and I have to totally discharge and recharge the batteries -- which takes more than 8 hours. And sometimes even the total discharge-recharge cycle does not work.
The quality of the pictures is not great either -- using the zoom lens to the slightest degree will result in blurry pictures.
In addition, Kodak's customer service/support is just terrible. Just before I special occasion I ordered new batteries and paid extra for rapid shipping. Turns out the batteries were backordered, so they weren't shipped until after the occasion. But by the time they told me about this, they said it was too late to cancel the order. So I ended up spending an extra $15 for two-day shipping for a product I didn't get for two weeks. I tried to contact them to complain, and they sent an automatically generated email saying they'd get back to me in 8 hours. Well, it has been more than 8 weeks, and I've sent multiple other emails, and have yet to get a response.
- I bought this for my Mom as a gift after having a similar set of my own. After a year of use, both of us had issues with the printer....constantly says it's out of ink...when it has only printed a few pictures. We keep using it, but it's a pain to deal with. I gave up on the printer and purchased another. After I decided I loved the Selphy printer, I bought one for my Mom also. She loves it...much easier to use. For her, she doesn't have a pc, so using the printer with the screen on it to select, crop, etc the pictures is far better for her. This was a good set at the beginning, but doesn't really hold up well. She is still using her camera, just using the new printer with it.

- I too purchased this camera online. I believe that the camera itself took quality photos, but upon the lense no longer telescoping. I contacted the repair line only to find out that they quoted me $150 for the repair! I could not locate my receipt, even though I purchased it new online and registered it, they would only say, "no receipt, no warranty". Valuable lesson learned.
Keep receipt... nice camera.
- I have had this camera for about a year. It has been nothing but a problem. First, the kodak easyshare software has continuous problems. I have spent HOURS trying to fix it. Still has bugs in it no matter what I do.
Secondly, the camera is very unreliable. I have a wedding to go to this weekend and I do not trust it and am taking a disposable camera too. How do I explain the problems I have had? There are so many. The camera misfunctions continuously. Sometimes it does nothing at all. Other times the zoom lense will not shut. You turn the option selector on and even though it is on the option you select you get another option. I sometimes can not even shut the camera off I gotta take the batteries out to do so...if I can even find batteries that work in the camera.
Honestly, I call tech supoport and told them the problems I have having and they tell me that only Kodak batteries work with the camera and told me to buy some. SO I went to a nice camera shop and they do not sell kodak batteries. The camera salesman told me that Kodak cameras are junk and the brand of battery should not matter. I believe him. So my camera which would not work...I asked the salesman to help me out. It did not work with any lithium batteries.....reusable or rechargable. He popped in some alkaline batteries and amazingly it worked. Well, everyone knows alkaline batteries have a real short short life. My camera now does not work with either batteries. Probably only Kodak batteries....maybe....or maybe Kodak wants to get another ten bucks out of me.
I personally don't even think the pictures this camera takes are any good. Really, when people take pictures of me with this camera my eyes are always closed. I am so anxious to get rid of this camera.....well would be but know I gotta fork over at least $250 on a good camera. Trying to save money on this 'disposable' camera was a waste. STAY AWAY FROM KODAK CAMERAS! If you don't believe me get a creditable camera magazine and read reviews.
- This camera was worth the money. I like that if you take a picture and you do not like it you can deliete it right away.It is easy to use. I am still learning how to use it. I just like that a lot is turn on and pic a setting and take a picture.
- I purchased this camera for my office. I had to convince my boss that Kodak was a good camera and the dock system was the way to go...unfortunately my recommendation turned out to be a nightmare!! We spent almost $300 for the camera and dock station - haven't taken 75 pictures with the camera and it is junk! When I turn the camera on it extends the lense about 1/4" and then retracts and shuts itself off. I tried all of the sites from Kodak and after numerous correspondence with Kodak the conclusion is: 1. I can send the camera back to them and for $125.00 they will fix it. (I can buy a new one for $129.00) 2. I can send the camera in and they would sell me a "refurbished" camera for between $250-$300. OR 3. Pitch the piece of junk camera and buy anything else but a KODAK....I'm going with #3 !!! Save your money and time trying to deal with Kodak!!
- The shutter does not open all the time and when I sent it back to Wall Street Photo they sent the same camera back to me again when I have asked for a refund....

5 comments about Kodak EasyShare Z650 6MP Digital Camera with 10x Optical Zoom and EasyShare Printer Dock (Series 3).
-
Dude, I completely lucked out when I bought this camera... :)
I was at Office Max, looking for a laptop bag I needed for a trip, and I'd stumbled upon the Kodak Z650 while the store was doing an inventory. They had a sticker on the box that read "do not inventory", and, more importantly, another sticker with a new price on it - $99.99!
Needless to say, I bought it right up!
I wanted to explain that because this is a one-hundred dollar camera to me, so my opinion of it may be a bit skewed.
I've owned the Z650 for a few months, and I've gotten to where I feel very comfortable using it.
Even for twice the price I got it at, this is a wonderful piece of serious photographic equipment. I know you SLR people are probably laughing at me right now, but it's true.
Besides, not all of us like to look through a viewfinder to shoot photos. One nice thing about the Z650 is that you can toggle between the ample LCD and the EVF with the touch of a button. I find myself using the EVF when shooting with the 10X zoom.
A note on the zoom feature - it's a 5X DIGITAL zoom, the other five, you're on your own with. Beyond its digital limit, and depending upon the subject, images can get somewhat blurry. This can also be attributed to the camera's lack of image stablization. Kodak Gear (Tiffen) makes an excellent 60" tripod that can greatly improve upon these minor imperfections. In fact, 47th Street Photo sold it to me (here on Amazon) for $9.95! Great people, and it arrived at my door in two days time using standard shipping...
Okay, I'm straying a bit here...
The Z650's menus are both easily accessable and easy to understand.
In addition to several pre-programmed scene and automatic modes, the camera also gives you the option going fully manual - a must for me, because one of my favorite subjects to photograph is the night sky (a couple of my photographic endeavors can be viewed in the customer images for this camera). I'm still tinkering around with shutter settings and whatnot, but I'm getting what I consider to be very good results from my Kodak.
All in all, I'm very content with the Z650, and I would recommend it highly. If you're thinking about buying it, I hope this little review helped you out!
- A great camera, especially for those who just want to take a simple photo, nothing fancy, just a good, clear shot everytime!
- About 9 months ago a Kodak Z710 was purchased for me by my superior to record the various landscape features. It is about half the size and weight of my film camera. With 1 GB memory card I am able to take many good pictures and review them on the computer screen.
In April, 2008 I decided to buy a digital camera (Z650) for myself through Amazon. Because I was familiar with the Z710, it was an easy choice to purchase another Kodak. I checked Steve Digicams website and found that the Z650 was a good camera.
Ordering from Amazon was easy and Amazon kept me informed as to the delivery progress of my order. The camera arrived on time and the bill was exactly as stated earlier.

- I have had this camera for about 2 years but I'm about to sell it to my dad. It truly is a great camera for everyday use and special events within families. However I needed even higher resolution and a camera with room for more expansion since I'm pursuing photography as a career. This camera is amazingly easy to use. There's nothing tricky about it. It takes wonderful photos and I particularly like the sport mode. One negative I found is the shutter lag is rather slow though. Having an active 2 year old whos constantly on the go, some great photos were never caught because by the time the camera actually took the picture the moment was gone or the smile had disappeared. ButI must say that most camera's of this type within similar price range all have about the same shutter lag typically. Nonetheless, It is an excellent everyday digital camera assuming you're not an avid photographer. Hope this helped.
- I've had this camera for a little over a year. After owning 2 HP cameras that broke on me shortly after purchasing them, I stayed away from HP and went to Kodak, which I was told was easiest to use. I loved this camera because of the 10x optical zoom. I produce very good quality photos with this camera! It's a little too big to carry on a night out so I bought another Kodak that fits in the purse. I think I'll be a loyal Kodak camera owner from here on and this is a really good deal for the money.

- The pictures it takes are fine; my main complaints are that this camera has a slow shutter speed, it takes a long time to reset itself when I'm trying to shoot a number of pictures at once AND this camera uses up a lot of battery power (especially when transferring over photos). I wish it came with a rechargeable battery instead of requiring AA batteries.
- If you have a limited budget this is a good camera, the batteries run out fast and if you don't mind pressing the shutter button and the picture finally snaps which seems like 2 seconds later-this is for you. I thought this lag time wouldn't be a big deal until I used it, it became a huge annoyance and a big drawback for enjoying using this camera.
- This camera does work pretty good. I had a 1GB sd card and it held tons of pictures. The pictures turn out good and the camera has a good flash. The only problem I've had is that the batteries don't last very long. It seemed to do fine for about a year but about 6 months ago I noticed I would put new batteries in and they would be dead by the end of the day sometimes even sooner. The instructions say that if you use the LCD when your taking the pictures instead of the viewfinder it uses up more of the battery but I don't use the LCD so I don't think it's that. If no one else has had this problem then it may just be my camera but in my opinion it's a lot cheaper and easier to just have a rechargeable camera then to be buying numerous batteries. Or just buy your own rechargeable batteries. Other then that, I've had no other problems. It's a great, easy-to-use, beginners camera.
- The 7530 works fine. Like some other reviewers, battery life is very short. I've tried rechargeable NI-MH cells rated 2200 mAh each. These did not last more than a day or two. The camera seems to drain them even when not in use. This happened with AA Lithium cells also. These fresh cells lasted 2 or 3 days and were then dead.
This camera has been around and has many reviews. This seems a common problem. I wonder if it is common to all digital cameras?
Aside from this the camera is easy to use. It does take a very good picture.
When I use the camera I turn off the image display, and there are no "dirty" contacts. I can not get over how it goes through batteries.
It is bad enough to make me miss my old SLR film camera. I wanted rechargable lithiums but they are limited and may not be much better. Oh well.
- I bought this, my first digital camera, to document the building of my new house. It worked reasonably well at first, but when winter closed in and the builders were still hard at work, my camera wasn't. Every time I turned it on it immediately turned off again. For a while after that it still worked okay indoors, but eventually I had the problem regardless of the temperature. Occasionally if I kept turning it on I won the battle and it would stay on and take a reasonably good picture, but the next time I wanted to use it I would have to go through the same hassle. I have seen good reviews of other Kodak products, but I won't buy another. I've just replaced the camera with a Nikon S700 and the difference, both in quality of the pictures and in ease of use (make that possibility of use) is incredible.

- This camera is great but only for a short time...have already had it repaired once and now once again it has just died on us and repairs are more expensive than new ones....do not buy this camera if you want it to last.
- A year later you can get better quality on your cell phone.
No wonder Kodak is in the toilet.
- I just want to add to the already available reviews: I agree with most what has been said here. Picture quality is quite below average. The same scene, just seconds apart, and you might get a different coloring in the picture (e.g. picture one is a little reddish, picture two is a little bluish). This is not too bad, though, if you just want a "I-visited-the-Brandenburg-Gate-with-Grandma" picture. I do use a Canon Digital Rebel XT for pictures that I want to turn out nice, but most of the times, the Kodak isn't too bad. If it is a little bad, mostly in low light conditions.
However: This camera is superior in sturdiness. I have taken it everywhere. I take it skiing and I fall with it in my jacket pocket, I drop it - anything. So it will probably make it a nice camera for kids (if you can explain to them that they need to wait the 0.7 seconds until it makes the "click" sound). I wouldn't buy it here, though. Go to ebay, you can get one for $30 there.
- I don't care if it had 100x zoom. That's not gonna matter if you cant tell what you were taking a picture of anyways. Its good for some family photos, but only if they're within 5 feet of you. The zoom function is pretty bad. Its a fun camera for a kid though. The price is just about right at about 100 dollars. It is simple to use and download off of. The zoom is just horrible though.
- Good Grief! What do you expect out of a low-priced camera! No, this is not a professional
let's shoot the Playmate of the Month camera. You can get those for around a thousand or so USD.
This is a versatile-use-it-out of the box camera for people just getting into digital photograhy or for those who
who want a digital camera without selling the farm. I've shot with one for about two years under some demanding
conditions. It has never failed even after it was dropped and took two bounces on top of the highest mountain in Maine.
It has always performed better than I was led to believe it would. It is not cheaply made even though it is made of plastic--it's sturdy
--no hinges have snaaped off--the lense hasn't dropped off.
Look..the camera snobs are writing misleading reviews about this camera and others. Give the people looking for a camera a break. No!
This not a Nikon, Cannon, or a Leica. It is one hell of an inexpensive digital camera that makes picture taking fun.
