5 comments about Kodak EasyShare C643 6.1MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom.
- The Kodak C643 is a great digital camera. It comes with a load of features and is super easy to use. I have to say the photo quality is pretty good. Obviously the quality of the photos is not as nice as professional equipment but I have to say it is pretty good (especially for the price)! The camera runs on 2 AA batteries. You want to make sure that you use rechargable AA batteries as they last a long time on a single charge. Regular AA's will not last long enough. You can buy a pack of 4 rechargable AA's with a charger for about $20 at just about any electronic store or even at Target. This is a great camera overall!
- I'm very disappointed with Kodak. They dropped the ball in manufacturing this camera, which was made very poorly. I have had two of these cameras break on me in the span of 14 months. When I first purchased the camera, it didn't work after about 2 days. I didn't drop it or mishandle it; the camera's red light just kept blinking furiously at me, despite my numerous battery changes. I took it back to Staples where it was purchased and luckily, because it had only been 2 days, got a new camera. I rarely used the camera as I own a couple others, and after about a year and two months, and about a dozen uses, the camera again wouldn't turn on. I called Kodak and they told me because it was just 2 months past a year, it was no longer under warranty and it would cost me a whopping $90 to have the camera repaired. Never mind that the camera itself cost me about $130. Kodak thinks I'm stupid enough to pay nearly the full amount for another version of this shoddily constructed camera. When I asked to speak to a manager, the Kodak rep kept me on hold for about 20 minutes. I guess it's their idea of customer service.
Never again will I buy a camera from Kodak.
Buyer beware.
- I received this camera for Christmas 2006. So far, I have used it numerous times and in many various situations. I wouldn't say that it is the best quality out there, but for people on a budget and without spending tons of money on something, the quality is great. i have used it with and without the printer dock. The printer dock takes a while to print a picture but other than that the dock is fairly easy to use and it "finds" your camera once it's loaded and with the press of a few buttons you can choose what size pic you want to print and how many copies. It's pretty user friendly overall. I agree with some of the other reviewers in that, the manuals aren't great to understand. it takes some reading and time to figure them out. As for the camera itself, I really have enjoyed using it. I have taken it on many trips, including Disney World, and New England in the fall. In the fall, I captured many fantastic pics and while driving in a car, the quality of the photo was pretty decent considering we were driving 70mph and with a glare on the window. I like the different settings there are depending upon night, movement, snow, beach, etc. Those really do make the pic better. My biggest complaint is it didn't capture the magnificence of the fall foliage colors as they are in person. I had to tweak my photos with my computer to make them brighter and with more contrast to bring out the color. The camera is real user friendly with the menu buttons and video portion especially for older parents (like mine) not from a technological era like myself. They find easy to use. It doesn't capture night photos that well even on the night feature. I have had to take some pics over and over again to capture just one thing. It also takes a lot longer for a night photo to flash, and you have to hold the camera real steady the whole time in order for the pic not to come out blurry. Other than that, I have been really happy with my Kodak camera and it's a great camera for those just starting in digital photography, those who aren't real technologically savvy, or those kids who want a camera without all the complicated buttons etc. If you purchaase the rechargeable batteries, the camera will last a long time. When I was in New england, I used my camera almost continuously off and on for about 2 days before I had to recharge. I also purchased a 2 GB SD card and reduced the resolution on the camera and I was able to take over 2000 photos and videos. I agree with other reviewers in that the sound on the video is surprisingly good. I didn't think it would be, but at Disney, I taped some performances and even from a far distance with the zoom in place the sound was really good. I uploaded to my computer, and I can literally relive the shows like I am there all over again. The quality of the photos when printed is also very good compared to some of my older version cameras. I would definitely recommend this camera, especially if you don't want to spend hundreds of dollars or more and don't want buttons to confuse you to the point your camera spends its days on a lonely dusty shelf :( And who wants a lonely camera?? I know I want a happy camera smiling every time I go to use it :)
- I bought this camera a year ago and love it. The PQ is excellent, but you'll need a very steady hand to have clear pictures using the digital zoom. Image stabilization is lacking on this camera but, for me, it's not an issue 99% of the time.
You'll really come to love this camera if you invest in an accessory kit that includes following:
1GB memory card
4 Rechargeable batteries & a charger
Carrying case
When I bought mine, it was offered as a kit that included the accessories I noted above. I'm glad I did. The memory card alone takes your picture capacity up to over 950 shots!
- The worst camera I've ever owned. Picture quality is horrible. A very bad Camera indeed. I will never buy any Kodak camera anymore. Highly disappointed. I bought this Camera almost 2 years now and I get horrible pictures whenever used. I am going for a Canon or Sony camera.

- I was really supprise by the quality of the picture, the reaction speed, and the easy operation of this camera. First, It is solidly built, doesn't look cheap at all. Second, it is very easy to operate, I didn't even bother to read manual. Third, it has very quick response, not only swift in startup, but also quick in focus and fire. Most important, after I shot around, the pictures came out all very good, sharply focused with vivid colors. Very very few bad shot. It sometimes give me more good shots than my $1500 canon 10D, especially in low light. At its price range, this one is definitely a better overall choice than Canon, and Fuji models (I have no experience with Sony and others).
Some minor problem, like all Kodak camera, the image is a bit over processed. it make picture looks better, and also losing some fine details. sometime, the grey over white background is not very well separated. Still I highly recommend it, I think it is a better choice than equivalent model from Canon and others.
- I own this camera since June 04. Some time ago it suddenly
started to do following strange thing: When I review
the taken pictures on the display of the camera, each picture
appears very blurred. Then, from the top to the bottom it starts
to `clear' itself. There is like a horizontal line, which runs
from the top to the bottom of the display, and after the line is through, the picture is ok.
The fist time I called the Kodak's technical service, the person told that there is something wrong with the camera and instructed me how to send it to the repair shop. I did - they sent it back, not repaired. After the second time sending it to the repair shop, - again - they didn't fix anything. The Kodak and the repair shop people told me, that this is normal by this particular Kodak model and they cannot do anything. They simply brushed me off.
But I know, it wasn't there from the beginning, i.e. it cannot be normal, and I never saw anything like that on any other cameras. The Kodak customer service is a disaster!
- We have had this camera for one year and it worked great for the first few months, but even then the shutter would not open all the way and we would get part of the shutter in the pictures. We have had to replace the battery door which broke at about 4 months and now the camera will not charge in the docking station. In order to fix the problem Kodak says it will cost over $100. Regular AA batteries do not last long enough. I would recommend you purchase another brand.
- The camera was just what I was looking for. My daughter had to have the option to change F Stop on a digital camera for a class she is taking at school. This camera for under $400 was the only one we could find at a decent price with this option. Thanks Guaranteedtech (seller on Amazon), Kodak, and Amazon. I am very pleased with the camera.
- I happened to see this while I was browsing for accessories. I can't believe it is still available. I bought mine back in, I think Spring '04. I'd had an older digital and it was time to upgrade. After much searching and reading, I settled on this camera. I have not been disappointed. Even though it is 4 megapixels and I have it set down to about 3.2, I get beautiful, clear, sharp pictures-still. The difference I have found is in the lens. The German made Schneider, Kreuznach lens (not sure of the sp here)makes a world of difference in the picture quality. I've looked at newer camera's (more megapixels) and of course noted the lens type, but to tell you the truth, this little 6440 gets such great quality I can't quite justify getting a new one.
Even on it's normal auto setting I am able to catch action shots of my granddaughter sliding and swinging, even water mid-air. I haven't even bothered with the action setting.
The only complaint I have, and it really doesn't qualify as one, is the telephoto shots are blurred- I get around that when editing in zooming and cropping, and when I take several shots in a row (not needing burst) the shutter speed slows down. A good choice still for a point and shooter and for great vacation pics.

- $ I just sent my camera in for repair to a location recommended by Kodak. I just received an estimate of $85.00 plus shipping, to repair the MCU, whatever that is. Anyway, as all may already know, this camera can be purchased here on Amazon for $95.00. So you be the judge. This camera should be advertised as a "disposable camera". When it costs more to repair something than to replace, it's usually called junk. Never again Kodak. Once burnt twice shy.
- I've been using this camera for a about 2 months now and over all its a pretty nice digital camera. Only real complaint I have is finding another USB locally. For the life of me I cant find mine and the port is so little that none of my other millions of adaptors will work. Overall a nice around time, quick snap shots of the kids camera.
- Why is Amazon selling a camera for $198.89 when Kodak's MSRP is US $139.00? According to the specs, this camera does not include the printer dock, so it's not the combo price.
- This product works very poorly, especially if you are attempting to use rechargeable batteries. I'd say 80% of the time when I try to recharge it, it is unsuccessful and I have to totally discharge and recharge the batteries -- which takes more than 8 hours. And sometimes even the total discharge-recharge cycle does not work.
The quality of the pictures is not great either -- using the zoom lens to the slightest degree will result in blurry pictures.
In addition, Kodak's customer service/support is just terrible. Just before I special occasion I ordered new batteries and paid extra for rapid shipping. Turns out the batteries were backordered, so they weren't shipped until after the occasion. But by the time they told me about this, they said it was too late to cancel the order. So I ended up spending an extra $15 for two-day shipping for a product I didn't get for two weeks. I tried to contact them to complain, and they sent an automatically generated email saying they'd get back to me in 8 hours. Well, it has been more than 8 weeks, and I've sent multiple other emails, and have yet to get a response.
- I bought this for my Mom as a gift after having a similar set of my own. After a year of use, both of us had issues with the printer....constantly says it's out of ink...when it has only printed a few pictures. We keep using it, but it's a pain to deal with. I gave up on the printer and purchased another. After I decided I loved the Selphy printer, I bought one for my Mom also. She loves it...much easier to use. For her, she doesn't have a pc, so using the printer with the screen on it to select, crop, etc the pictures is far better for her. This was a good set at the beginning, but doesn't really hold up well. She is still using her camera, just using the new printer with it.

- I bought this camera in April of 2005, and have used it for MANY pictures since (plus some video). I did a lot of research before buying, but really when it came down to it, I bought a brand I knew and it was cheap. Well I ended up with a great camera. I have 6 kids and scrapbook, so photo quality is very important to me and this camera has it. I use rechargeable batteries and they last a LONG time before needing recharged. Take it from a Mom that memories mean a lot to...this is a terrific camera! All of the lengthy good reviews on here are telling the truth. I heard a lot of bad things from "camera professionals" about Kodak, but I haven't seen any of what they said.
- I've had no problems with the camera itself, but the necessary Kodak software is so horrible, that it makes me avoid the camera too. The software makes it difficult to download select photos versus the entire collection on the camera. It also has skimpy editing features. I have to jump around from the Kodak software to a microsoft one and then another from a different website in order to get all the different changes I want in a picture.
- I love this camera! I've had it for over a year and would recomend it to anyone. I bought this camera after taking a backpacking trip with my friend and seeing the great shots her Easy Share took. I absolutly love it. I often take video of my 9 month old son because I don't have time to whip out the big camera. The video isn't super but it's fast and simple. I just use the Windows Camera Wizard to get all my photos off it so I've never used their software, but I've never had a problem. ::thumbs up::
- I've had this camera for about 3 yrs now, and it's never given me a single problem. It takes very good pictures of scenery, but I don't think the night vision mode is particularly great (are any cameras that good @ taking shots in the dark though?). I've never regretted purchasing this camera.
- Bought it was pleased with it - had it awhile and now it kills fresh batteries after only a handful of pictures. A friend had one and said she took it to best buy and the guy told her the camera had "died" and new batteries are not the fix - there was no fix - same thing happened to mine.
Please consider this possibility if you are buying this camera - would guess mine is a 2-3 yrs old and its dead. Suggest you buy a better name brand. I'm not buying Kodak next time.

5 comments about Kodak EasyShare Z650 6.1MP Digital Camera with 10x Optical Zoom.
-
Dude, I completely lucked out when I bought this camera... :)
I was at Office Max, looking for a laptop bag I needed for a trip, and I'd stumbled upon the Kodak Z650 while the store was doing an inventory. They had a sticker on the box that read "do not inventory", and, more importantly, another sticker with a new price on it - $99.99!
Needless to say, I bought it right up!
I wanted to explain that because this is a one-hundred dollar camera to me, so my opinion of it may be a bit skewed.
I've owned the Z650 for a few months, and I've gotten to where I feel very comfortable using it.
Even for twice the price I got it at, this is a wonderful piece of serious photographic equipment. I know you SLR people are probably laughing at me right now, but it's true.
Besides, not all of us like to look through a viewfinder to shoot photos. One nice thing about the Z650 is that you can toggle between the ample LCD and the EVF with the touch of a button. I find myself using the EVF when shooting with the 10X zoom.
A note on the zoom feature - it's a 5X DIGITAL zoom, the other five, you're on your own with. Beyond its digital limit, and depending upon the subject, images can get somewhat blurry. This can also be attributed to the camera's lack of image stablization. Kodak Gear (Tiffen) makes an excellent 60" tripod that can greatly improve upon these minor imperfections. In fact, 47th Street Photo sold it to me (here on Amazon) for $9.95! Great people, and it arrived at my door in two days time using standard shipping...
Okay, I'm straying a bit here...
The Z650's menus are both easily accessable and easy to understand.
In addition to several pre-programmed scene and automatic modes, the camera also gives you the option going fully manual - a must for me, because one of my favorite subjects to photograph is the night sky (a couple of my photographic endeavors can be viewed in the customer images for this camera). I'm still tinkering around with shutter settings and whatnot, but I'm getting what I consider to be very good results from my Kodak.
All in all, I'm very content with the Z650, and I would recommend it highly. If you're thinking about buying it, I hope this little review helped you out!
- A great camera, especially for those who just want to take a simple photo, nothing fancy, just a good, clear shot everytime!
- About 9 months ago a Kodak Z710 was purchased for me by my superior to record the various landscape features. It is about half the size and weight of my film camera. With 1 GB memory card I am able to take many good pictures and review them on the computer screen.
In April, 2008 I decided to buy a digital camera (Z650) for myself through Amazon. Because I was familiar with the Z710, it was an easy choice to purchase another Kodak. I checked Steve Digicams website and found that the Z650 was a good camera.
Ordering from Amazon was easy and Amazon kept me informed as to the delivery progress of my order. The camera arrived on time and the bill was exactly as stated earlier.

- I have had this camera for about 2 years but I'm about to sell it to my dad. It truly is a great camera for everyday use and special events within families. However I needed even higher resolution and a camera with room for more expansion since I'm pursuing photography as a career. This camera is amazingly easy to use. There's nothing tricky about it. It takes wonderful photos and I particularly like the sport mode. One negative I found is the shutter lag is rather slow though. Having an active 2 year old whos constantly on the go, some great photos were never caught because by the time the camera actually took the picture the moment was gone or the smile had disappeared. ButI must say that most camera's of this type within similar price range all have about the same shutter lag typically. Nonetheless, It is an excellent everyday digital camera assuming you're not an avid photographer. Hope this helped.
- I've had this camera for a little over a year. After owning 2 HP cameras that broke on me shortly after purchasing them, I stayed away from HP and went to Kodak, which I was told was easiest to use. I loved this camera because of the 10x optical zoom. I produce very good quality photos with this camera! It's a little too big to carry on a night out so I bought another Kodak that fits in the purse. I think I'll be a loyal Kodak camera owner from here on and this is a really good deal for the money.

5 comments about Kodak EasyShare M753 7MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom (Purple).
- I bought this camera as a valentines gift for my wife as she has been asking for a digital camera for a while. I wanted to get her a digital camera that was simple enough to use takes good pictures and something that was handy and not bulky at the right price. I went to the stores and tried to do my research at the store and online I read what other people said about this camera and how they rated it. I compared this brand with other more expensive brands and realized that this camera at times had better features than other more expensive brands, like having a speaker which is useful for playing back videos. We have been using this camera for about a month now and so far we have been very satisfied, now it might not take as good a picture as other higher end digital slr camera with much bigger lenses but compared to other cameras in it's class it is a great deal. One of the features I liked with this camera is it has a rechargeable battery , you can plug it on your computer and you save money instead of buying batteries. On a full charge you could probably take about 200 pictures which I think is good because I have a digital slr which is just so power hungry that I usually take about 4 extra batteries whenever we have a family affair just to make sure I don't run out of batteries. Now let me make it clear that this is a good camera that is decent enough for regular affairs and regular holidays but if it's a special event like weddings I suggest that you get a better more expensive digital slr, but for vacations , outings it is ok , it's handy you could just put it in your pocket and use it anywhere. I rate this camera a 3.5 star, my wife on the other hand loves it and has become quite an amateur photographer. This is a great 2nd camera and for the money you can't go wrong.
- I got this camera because my pervious one was enourmous and did not take as good of pictures as I wanted it to... now that I got it could not be more plased, can be easily placed in jean pockets, fits in small purses, amazing color (even if youre not into purple there are other great choices), pictures are veeery nice! i love all of the options, very easy to handle! oh and price CANNOT be beat! I've had it since yesterday and cannot be parted with it, love it!
- I saved up my money for over a year to buy this camera, and I'm very happy with it because it works very good and it is very easy to handle, so this camera is perfect for a kid (like me) or for an old lady who doesn't know anything about electronics. :-) I loved the cute purple color, and I'm so excited to show it off to all my friends, because they will think it's so stylish and they'll be all jealus and stuff. One thing that you should know: the software for the computer will not work for the computer if it is really old. Our computer was built in like, the 1700s, and we had to go to kodak.com and get a lower version of software. But other than that, this camera would work for anybody, and it's SO CUTE! I'm in love with it. It comes with a wriststrap, so you won't ever drop it if you use the wriststrap. It also comes with the rechargeable battery and a USB charger. The USB charger is kind of not useful, becuase you can't charge the camera if there isn't a computer around. (At least our ancient computer can charge it.) But there is an available traditional charger, but you have to buy it separately. That's kind of a bummer.
I also bought the Kroo camera case with it, and I'm very pleased because we weren't sure if it would fit the camera, but it did, so you can be assured that it will fit this camera. I bought the Centon 1GB SD memory card too, and it is definitely the right size for the camera, and it holds over 300 pictures and over 120 minutes of video. Soooooooo... your rest be assured, you can be happy with this camera, and you will be happy with the accessories you buy with it. :-) (Hi Mom!!!)
- I have only checked out the camera as to the functions it has. This item is a gift, and will not be given to the individual until the end of June. After it is used, I will update the review.
The only thing I don't like so far, is the interface to recharge the battery. Also, Kodak states there is a 5V charger available, however, no one has it or knows of it.
- I really love my camera. It came in good condition. There was nothing wrong with it at all. The only thing is I wish was that it came with a camera case. But otherwise I love it.

5 comments about Kodak Easyshare P850 5.1MP Digital Camera with 12x Image Stabilized Zoom.
- the P850 continuously crashes.
When using burst mode and then taking more pics, without waiting for it to save, it just stops working and loses my pics.
As well as when using the AE/AF lock and using f/8 1/1000 ISO50.
Try it and see what happens.
In any case, shutter lag, the time it takes for the camera to save pics, is simply too long.
Focusing is so slow, it's just annoying.
The only thing it has going for it is a long zoom, flash hot shoe, and larger sensor than P&S.
[the P712 is an updated model of the P850]
- I have now owned 3 yes 3 P850's. I must start by saying I LOVE every feature about this camera. It's also a video camera, battery life etc... BUT the first one I had lasted 2 months before some of the pictures that were turning out had black lips on people (WEIRD HUH?) looked as if someone had put black marker on the lips. So I traded for another, thought there was no way this could happen again, and on the 2nd camera I could not get it to turn off, so after a day I returned it for another P850, still in hopes that the black lips would not come back. So I have had the camera for 1 year and 3 days and sure enough last night the black lips are back! So I printed out the pics from the first camera and this camera and took them in to Sams club where I have purchased now 3 of these and because I was 3 days over my 1 year mark they referred me to my extended warranty. So I would love to know if anyone else has had this problem or had theirs repaired for the same reason?????? I'm scared to death they won't be able to fix it and I will get stuck with a refurbished camera. But other than the black lips I love everything about the camera, I must since I have returned the same model over and over!!!! Not this time!!!!!
- Even though I have only had this camera a few weeks, I must say I am very pleased with my results so far. I was somewhat shy at first of buying a Kodak (not sure why), I usually stay with Fuji or Nikon cameras. However, I had an upcoming vacation and a desire for a camera with a big zoom factor. That's when I found a great deal on a Kodak P850 with the 12X Zoom and Image Stabilization. Before using the camera I did some research and found out about the firmware update that improves shutter lag time and focus time. I downloaded this and followed the directions from the Kodak website and it was an easy fix. I would suggest this to anyone with a P850. I also ordered an extra battery and an extension tube so that I could used a lens hood and 52mm filters on the camera.
I took the camera with me on my trip to Lancaster County, PA and got some great shots. I used it on Auto mode, Aperture Priority mode, Landscape Scene mode, Sports/Action Scene Mode, and Backlight Scene mode all with good results. I thought detail and color in the pictures was very good. Shutter lag was not bad, and battery life was good. I have posted a few of my images from the trip in the gallery. We'll have to see what the longtime verdict is on the P850 but for now I am pleased and have a new (and better) opinion of Kodak.
- When my husband bought this for me I was very happy. The first couple of months were great, the pictures were good. But then when I got close to the warranty experation I started having trouble. When I called they said I could send it in to be fixed but I would have to pay. Then some time later they told me that they could not fix it because it had corrosion problems. This camera has sat next to my other three cameras as well as next to my computer for the whole time I have had it. It stays in a case except when I take pictures so I have a problem with it getting corroded. Then to add insult to injury they send it back stripped. They kept my battery, lens cap cover, shoulder strap and even took the eye protector off of it not to mention the two dings in it that it did not have when it left my house. I have three cameras all of them 6 years old or older. They all still work and all still look new. I have never been so disappointed in a product. If you are looking for a digital camera I hear wonderful things about Cannon, and I have an old Sony I love.
- This camera was not my choice. I received it for my birthday after suggesting that I might be interested in a long-zoom digital camera with image stabilization. This is my third digital camera. I liked my 3x Olympus, 3 megapixel but thought I would like the additional features that I just mentioned. To begin, I hate everything about the Easy-Share program. The image stabilization does little or nothing for me. Even a tripod is not paticularly useful because the camera lacks opportunity for remote shutter release, the camera IS slow, the flash is weak. In most of the scene modes (and flash), the shutter is too slow for me to hand hold. The movie mode has great picture and sound but movies can't be burned to DVD for showing on a conventional DVD player. To me, that means this feature is next to useless. Controls are too complicated. About all that I can say for it is that it looks good. I'm just glad that I still have my Olympus!

- I got this camera for my wife to use in her pre-school classroom. It serves that purpose. I've made the mistake of taking this on short family trips where I don't want to lug my DSLR, and have been extremely disappointed in the pictures quality. Very noisy and dull looking even in well lit conditions. My previous point-and-shoot was a Kodak DX7440 which produced much much better pictures. I'll be looking for another compact camera to replace this toy.
- I bought this for my teenage daughter. She has taken over two thousand pictures since December. And I tell you, they are sharp and look great. I also have a 6MB and a 3MB camera, and this 7MB camera is noticeably better in image quality. The few low quality pictures I've seen are due to motion blur, which you get with any camera without a tripod. Sometimes the LCD looks a little greenish. The video also works well. It doesn't seem to be 30 fps, but maybe more like 15-20. Still very viewable for most situations.
So why do all the other reviews say the pictures are grainy? I have no idea. I say, try it in the store if you can. Take a picture and then look at it in the viewfinder and zoom in. Try that with a few cameras and see how this compares. My daughter and I are very pleased.
- I've had this camera since December, when I got it as a Christmas present from my dad. I've used it to take hundreds of shots of my friends at school, and here is my list of pros and cons for this camera:
Pro:
- Convenient: It is very light and smal in size. It fits into many handbags, and isn't hard to carry around.
- Settings: It has a wide range of settings you can use to take pictures with.
- Easy-to-use: The buttons and the wheel on the camera are pretty self-explanatory. After fundling around with it for a little while, I got the hang of it fairly quickly.
- Digital Image Stabilization: My friends are always moving around, and this feature comes in handy when trying to snap shots of them.
- Screen: The screen takes up the majority of the back of the camera. You can clearly see the entire picture on that little screen.
- Flash: The flash of this camera is extremely bright.
Cons:
- Grainy: The other reviews weren't lying-- the pictures taken by this camera are fairly grainy. Under the "Auto" setting, the camera functions pretty well; but under any other setting, such as Digital Image Stabilization, blown-up copies of these images will come out grainy.
- Slow reaction rate: I'm fairly sure there's a technical term for this, but this is what my friends and I refer to it as. The camera will not instantaneously take photographs-- a second or two may elapse between the press of the button and actual taking of the photograph. This may be due to the camera automatically focusing itself, but you may miss many snap-or-miss moments with it.
- Too-senstive "Auto" Setting: This camera will be able to detect even the slightest shaking of your hand when on Auto. Pictures may come out blurry as a result of this, and this is another reason why I am forced to resort to the Digital Image Stabilization setting.
All-in-all, however, I think this is a good camera for casual use. It's a nice camera for kids to use, since it's rather cheap in price and still performs all the regular functions a camera should.
- Good little camera for the basics, I dropped my first one once and busted the LCD, just went with another one since I have all the batteries and accessories. Small, takes great pictures and is easy to download.
- I "upgraded" to this camera and regret it. I love the fact that you can charge it with a USB cable, and dont have to worry with batteries. But, after having it for less than a year, the only thing the USB cable does for me is charge it -- it no longer works for uploading photos to the computer. Luckily we have a laptop and I can just take my memory card out and put it in the laptop to upload them.
The photo quality is no good. It is very grainy no matter what ISO or flash settings you use. Also, when I take pictures with it, it makes the sound like the picture was taken, but it pauses for a second or two and THEN it actually takes the picture?! It has done that several times, and ruined several shots.
This camera is not worth $150 and I would not recommend it to anyone, ever. It's cheaply made and does not take good photos.

- I got caught up in the frenzy of black Friday 1 1/2 years ago and bought this camera for $150. What a mistake. It's a fine camera except for the exposure problems that ruin at least 75% of the pictures I have taken. In a regular indoor setting (unless there is lots of sunlight), the background is almost always black or has a yellowish-orange tint. At other times (for unknown reasons), faces are completely washed out. I have finally decided to buy something else; I'm tired of not having any decent photos of my kids.
- Although not quite an amateur photographer, I have always loved taking pictures. As digital technology became more popular, I clung to my film camera, a Kodak APS that I loved. I received a cheap, no-name digital camera as a gift, and I thought that would be sufficient to handle any digital needs I might have. Boy, was I wrong!
Things changed for me when my husband bought me the Kodak EasyShare C360 and Printer Dock last Christmas. Although I still feel a bit guilty to admit this, I love my EasyShare digital camera more than any film camera I've ever owned! It is extremely easy to use and yet has a great variety of options. For basic picture-taking, there is an auto feature; simply turn the dial to it and go. However, you can also chose from several other alternatives, including action, close-up, portrait, and landscape. In addition, the camera has a separate series of "scene" settings which allow you to customize your picture-taking even further--these scenes include children, beach, snow, even fireworks! I especially like using the indoor party setting, which eliminates the poorly lit, poorly exposed indoor shots that you get with other cameras, and the self-portrait, which makes for some fun shots. Oh, did I mention that this camera makes movies, too? The video and sound quality is excellent.
Now on to the printer dock. The best thing about this feature is that when you are not using the camera, you simply set it back down on the printer dock to recharge. This works perfectly for recharging the camera after relatively short (e.g., a day or two) usage periods, but for longer trips, I purchased an inexpensive battery recharger. So far, the only time I had to swap out the batteries was when I was away for a long weekend and took several hundred pictures at my sister's wedding (and even then, the camera didn't start to lose its charge until the very end of the weekend). The printer dock also provides an easy way to transfer the pictures from the camera to your computer, although you can print pictures directly from the camera. I haven't used the actual print features of the printer dock very often, but when I have, I've been impressed with the high quality photos produced.
The camera itself provides wonderfully clear, sharp images, whether you are just viewing them on your computer, printing from the printer dock, or printing elsewhere (e.g., the Kodak Gallery online, which is what I usually do). The camera also offers many additional features that I don't use, such as being able to tag pictures to share. I do use the excellent zoom, the timer function, and the burst photo option (lets you take a rapid series of pictures). The 32 MB of memory is sufficient for casual use, but since memory cards are readily available and relatively inexpensive, I upgraded to a 1 GB memory card, which allows me almost 800 photos. The one minor complaint I have about this camera is the accompanying EasyShare software. Although it is convenient--especially with the ease of uploading your pictures to the online Kodak Gallery--I think it could have been much more user-friendly.
Overall, however, I am thrilled with this camera and printer dock combination, and I would highly recommend it to other casual photo enthusiasts like myself!
- I bought this camera a little over a year ago.
I never dropped it or exposed it to liquid, and now it powers
up then powers down. It is broke.
I have had tons of problems with the software.
i would not recommend this camera
- I bought this camera a little over a year ago. Recently when you turn the camera on the lens comes out and than the camera turns it self off. I tried new batteries without success. It was never dropped or had liquid spilled on it. The camera use to take good outdoor shots, but indoors the pictures were always poor. Unless you are right on top of your subject the photo would be very dark.
- Camera was purchased for my 70 year old father. Very simple to use. His first digital camera and even without a 'great knowledge' of cameras --this camera and dock are user friendly. Thank you.

- This camera does and is just what I wanted. It's easy to use and has all the bells and whistles to be able to take and edit great pictures. Couldn't ask for anything more.
- Don't let the name Kodak fool you. They have stepped up their game in order to compete in the digital market now that film has gone the way of the dinosaur. Kodak has clearly spent the time and energy in developing a great entry level camera that is easy to use and takes fantastic photographs. I purchased this for my girlfriend and she loves it. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a quality, user friendly, entry level camera that takes great pictures.
- LCD screen broke in less than 4 weeks, it still takes pictures but I cant see what I am looking at.
- My 16 yr old son needed a camera for his Spring Break trip. 11 days in Costa Rico for Environmental Science class. I had already written a big check for the trip and he wasn't using MY camera. Found the refurbished camera section on Amazon.com. Great find!! He did have the camera at his return with awesome pictures!! All for less than $70!! (if he had lost it, not such a great $$ loss)
- Kodak EasyShare C653 6.1MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom....
I bought this camera earlier this year..I love kodak product I went back to kodak after purchasing a samsung camera that I wasn't pleased with at all...what I love most about kodak is the simplicity anyone can operate these cameras and they won't have to worry about a bad shot..my only complaint with this camera is the delay once you press the button to take a picture other than that I have no complaints.
