1. I bought this camera as a valentines gift for my wife as she has been asking for a digital camera for a while. I wanted to get her a digital camera that was simple enough to use takes good pictures and something that was handy and not bulky at the right price. I went to the stores and tried to do my research at the store and online I read what other people said about this camera and how they rated it. I compared this brand with other more expensive brands and realized that this camera at times had better features than other more expensive brands, like having a speaker which is useful for playing back videos. We have been using this camera for about a month now and so far we have been very satisfied, now it might not take as good a picture as other higher end digital slr camera with much bigger lenses but compared to other cameras in it's class it is a great deal. One of the features I liked with this camera is it has a rechargeable battery , you can plug it on your computer and you save money instead of buying batteries. On a full charge you could probably take about 200 pictures which I think is good because I have a digital slr which is just so power hungry that I usually take about 4 extra batteries whenever we have a family affair just to make sure I don't run out of batteries. Now let me make it clear that this is a good camera that is decent enough for regular affairs and regular holidays but if it's a special event like weddings I suggest that you get a better more expensive digital slr, but for vacations , outings it is ok , it's handy you could just put it in your pocket and use it anywhere. I rate this camera a 3.5 star, my wife on the other hand loves it and has become quite an amateur photographer. This is a great 2nd camera and for the money you can't go wrong.

I got this camera because my pervious one was enourmous and did not take as good of pictures as I wanted it to... now that I got it could not be more plased, can be easily placed in jean pockets, fits in small purses, amazing color (even if youre not into purple there are other great choices), pictures are veeery nice! i love all of the options, very easy to handle! oh and price CANNOT be beat! I've had it since yesterday and cannot be parted with it, love it!

I saved up my money for over a year to buy this camera, and I'm very happy with it because it works very good and it is very easy to handle, so this camera is perfect for a kid (like me) or for an old lady who doesn't know anything about electronics. :-) I loved the cute purple color, and I'm so excited to show it off to all my friends, because they will think it's so stylish and they'll be all jealus and stuff. One thing that you should know: the software for the computer will not work for the computer if it is really old. Our computer was built in like, the 1700s, and we had to go to kodak.com and get a lower version of software. But other than that, this camera would work for anybody, and it's SO CUTE! I'm in love with it. It comes with a wriststrap, so you won't ever drop it if you use the wriststrap. It also comes with the rechargeable battery and a USB charger. The USB charger is kind of not useful, becuase you can't charge the camera if there isn't a computer around. (At least our ancient computer can charge it.) But there is an available traditional charger, but you have to buy it separately. That's kind of a bummer.
   I also bought the Kroo camera case with it, and I'm very pleased because we weren't sure if it would fit the camera, but it did, so you can be assured that it will fit this camera. I bought the Centon 1GB SD memory card too, and it is definitely the right size for the camera, and it holds over 300 pictures and over 120 minutes of video. Soooooooo... your rest be assured, you can be happy with this camera, and you will be happy with the accessories you buy with it. :-) (Hi Mom!!!)



4. I have only checked out the camera as to the functions it has. This item is a gift, and will not be given to the individual until the end of June. After it is used, I will update the review.
   The only thing I don't like so far, is the interface to recharge the battery. Also, Kodak states there is a 5V charger available, however, no one has it or knows of it.



5. I really love my camera. It came in good condition. There was nothing wrong with it at all. The only thing is I wish was that it came with a camera case. But otherwise I love it.

1. This camera does not come with a charger! I find that absolutely unbelievable! How can you sell a camera that runs with a rechargeable battery and you find out once you receive the camera that you have to buy it seperately?
   
   I am absolutely amazed ... so beware! It doesn't even say on the packet ... I had to look at the instruction manual and it states, sold seperately.
   
   Hasn't anyone else had this problem?



2. Excellent camera, compact but it has all the features i was looking in a digital camera.



3. This camera is really easy to use, great for beginning photographers. It's also pretty small and lightweight. Not the smallest I've seen, but it's definitely up there. The picture quality is excellent, not grainy or anything. Keep in mind that I am a novice, so I don't know any really detailed specifics, but what I do know, I definitely like!
   
   Overall, I feel that the Kodak Easyshare V1233 12.1MP Digital Camera is the perfect trade-off between price and quality. It's definitely the cheapest you'll find for a camera with so many megapixels!



4. The pictures are clear and the video in HD are on the money, highly recommend this cam to anyone looking for a easy to use and not to expensive camera. Kodak got down a little bit on this HD camera!



5. Every time someone sees that I have a camera with 12 mp they ask, oh my goodness, how good is it?? I've never seen a camera with 12 mp! Well, I tell them, for less than 200$, I got what I paid for, which was a camera that takes still shots EXTREMELY well. So, well that I actually have had still shots of flowers and birds that people want me to frame. Moving shots are a lot harder, but I am going to keep experimenting with it and I'm sure I'll grow to love it more as I'm familiar with it's specs.

1. Don't believe all the "expert" reviews that give this camera low marks. These clowns are looking for the perfect camera that does not exist. This camera takes great pictures, is easy to use, has loads of features, is small and compact, and is backed by Kodak. That's good enough for 99% of us.



2. this camera isnt what we expect, when you take pictures, the camera make change in pictures colors and photos quality is very poor, i repent to buy it.

4. I recieved this camera as a gift for my birthday in March, and I had to send it back in early May to have the LCD screen repaired, I had not dropped it and the camera hadn't had any impact. It took a couple weeks to get my camera repaired and it worked great. Last night my camera was in the new case I purchased (thinking it would protect it better) which was inside my purse when my purse fell off my sofa. Once again, the LCD Screen is broken. I think it is ridiculous that a camera be so easily ruined. I am not going to pay to have my camera "fixed" again, only to have it to break again in a few months. It's a shame because I took some excellent pictures with it, and I really like the panoramic feature. I wouldn't rcommend this camera unless you're going to treat it like an "Egg Baby" for a High School health class.



5. This camera was delivered as promised. It is my second as I dropped the otherone with the lens open and I am trying to get it repaired. I use it so often I ordered another one. The price is right for the item and I use it often. The photos are very clear and it is an easy to use camera. I love it. 1. This camera is great for outdoor sunny use. Any other time it produces blurry images. If you raise the ISO over 200 the image is also very grainy. I would only recommend getting this camera if you are only willing to take outdoor still pictures on sunny days.



2. This is a great camera, takes great pictures, even in low light. very easy to change settings; very user friendly. everyone wants to know what kind of camera i am using. great price for product.



3. I fell in love first of all with the color of the camera...I LOVE PURPLE! After receiving this camera right before Christmas, I haven't put it down...I've taken pictures at all of my family events which include the debutante ball, graduation, birthdays, college road trip party, etc. and the pictures are phenominal! I change the background on my computer every week because I have so many wonderful pictures stored in my camera. I recommend this camera for not only the quality of the pictures, but also the price. I have truly gotten my money's worth plus some...enjoy!

When the camera was first released, many customers experienced a problem in which the camera would freeze periodically and the only way to regain control would be to remove the battery and power cycle. Another more recent problem consumers are experiencing now is cracking the fragile LCD screen on this device. It's roughly as durable as an eggshell. Once the LCD is broken you cannot use this camera. Don't be tempted to buy a used one without the LCD... it's useless. Lastly, when the camera is working properly, it does not perform nearly as well as other cameras in its 2007 class - there are many cameras that produce better pictures at lower retail prices. When I presented a working version of this camera to many friends and family I COULD NOT TRADE OR EVEN GIVE IT AWAY for FREE. My friends and relatives liked their Fujitsu, Nikon or Canon ALOT better. Don't give into the temptation to pick up this inexpensive 8MP camera; you WILL be dissapointed.



5. This camera is my first digital camera and it takes fantastic pictures. My family and I went to Ripley's Believe it or not in St. Augustine and the photos came out great.. outside and inside. Outside I used the general (auto) setting and inside I used the museum setting. All the pictures came out amazing.

2. i bought this camera 1 week ago after i had to take the Kodak m863 back to kmart and i printed some pictures from the printer and the were very cloudy and the had big lines in them so i took the camera back to kmart and got my money back and the camera had dots all over the screen. i said to my self i am never buying a Kodak again.



3. i want purchase DVD PLAYER and Laptop for 12 month finance system
   if i order the above item when can i get.
   because i am leaving from Houston 19-08-2008 Tuesday (i am from india)

1. I only got to play with this camera for five minutes at Staples, but expect me to place my order soon. For the price, these features are usually unheard of. The camera shot super clear pictures zoomed completely out or completely in. Rapid-fire shooting rate captures clear images, even when moving fast ( I was rotating in circles to test this out, if you've ever been shopping with me I test every camera I buy completely). My only qualm was that it is built like a traditional 35mm camera, meaning that anyone wanting to stash it in their jeans pocket for stealth shooting may be out of luck. But since I work from my car, this will not be a problem. Definitely a good quality camera that will carry me until I can afford an XSi and beyond.



2. I have only had the camera for a couple of days and I'm already very pleased with it. Takes wonderful pictures right out of the box in the Auto mode, but there are many different features that I will have to play around with. The 12x zoom is perfect for catching objects from a distance and the Image Stabilizer works wonders. I have tried to shake the camer while taking the picture and it has still came out great.
   
   A few things to know before buying: The camera does not have an electronic viewfinder, so sometimes in direct light(sun)it may be hard to view the LCD screen. It also uses 3 different types of batteries KLIC-8000 (rechargeable Li Ion), CRV3 (Non rechargeable Li Ion), and it also takes 2 AA litium Ion batteries. If you buy the KLIC-8000 battery you have to purchase a separate charger, you cannot charge the battery in the camera. If you are looking for a big zoom camera that will fit in your pocket this is not the camera for you.



3. Camera is a great buy for the price. It is simple to use and takes wonderful pictures.

   of Cameras.When this one stopped operating, i knew i have to get another one.Don't get me wrong,this Nikon i had is a good Camera.So then i found
   this Kodak EasyShare 8612IS camera the best.After i have search and keep looking that i like, this one is 4.5 to 5 stars.
   The quality of pictures are superbs.After i read the instructions,i experiment to take pictures at work,inside and outside the house,the flowers and plants we have around are so beautiful.I made some mistakes of taking pictures because i forgot to change settings on the mode dial.
   But most of my shooting came out nice.Also,it takes about 3 sec.in-between takes.Second con,it takes about 8 to 10 secs. to light the 2.5" LCD.
   It has a cover for the lens,the lens itself look like an SLR professional camera.Yet it's true that it is not a pocket camera.I bought 4gb sd and will take over one thousands pictures, one hour of video, which i haven't try it yet.It comes with the strap and a battery,you have to buy your own charger. Oh, the battery last longer than expected, over a week. Well, that's when your not taking pictures too much, i guess.
   I still have to get familiarized with the features,after all i just have this last 17th,aug08. I love the color a black surface.As other recommended for potential buyers,check it personally,try to feel in your hand if it is comfortable or too big for your fingers to press tiny bottons of each dial.Like i said if you want a pocket camera this one is not for you.By the way the lens is not retractable, permanently protrude.
   Gosh!! i did not realized that.But i keep it.
