  1. For some reason the video won't download with the program that comes with the camera. From what I've read on the 'net, I'm not the only one with that problem. Can't figure out how to download music to it, but I didn't buy it for the mp3 player.
The camera part is awesome. It takes wonderful pix for it's pixel size. Very easy to use (aside from the video download and the mp3), and it IS an awesome price. All in all, I'm very pleased with it and I would recommend it as a digital camera.
If anyone out there knows how to get the video to download let me know.

  1. I recieved this camera for by last birthday and wished that I had returned it! First off, the camera came with absolutely NO instructions. I have some knowledge of cameras so I messed with all the functions but instructions would have been helpful! Secondly, to this date, I only have been able to have it take one decent picture--which I totally had to photoshop & turn into black & white. All my other pictures have turned out blurry or too dark. Thirdly, the LCD screen SUCKS! It is slow, grainy and totally blurry so it is hard to focus on whatever you are taking a picture of. For a long time I thought that it was just me having so many problems but after reading all the reviews, I am obviously not he only one! One thing that is positive is that the software is easy to use and the pictures upload quickly but what is the point if you can get a good picture!!! I got so fed up with this camera that I had to have my sister take pictures with her Sony digital camera for all of our family get togethers or use my video camera! I am getting a Kodak that is $200.00+ for my birthday this year and am hoping that it is a better experience! Anyway, my advice to anyone thinking about this camera--SKIP IT!

  2. We got this camera for a very low price, but never have I stayed so bitter about a purchase for so long. Photos without flash are invariably blurry, photos with flash or outdoors are ridiculously overexposed, and sometimes still blurry! Even the simplest photos in ideal conditions come out horribly. I have bought and used several different cheap/lower end digital cameras, but this is the most horrible product I have ever laid hands on. If anyone knows how to file an official complaint with Polaroid (that they'll pay attention to), let me know. I should never have opened that packaging.

  3. This was my first digital camera -it was bought in kind of a hurry because I wanted to get one before I went on a trip. IT'S HORRIBLE! I guess it's sufficient if you really just want a camera, but besides that, it's just bad. The flash is the main problem. Without the flash you have to be in perfect light to get a decent picture (meaning in order to see anything) and with the flash you have to be at the perfect distance (in order to see any faces). Most of my pictures taken with this camera are either too dark to see anything or extremely bright so everyone/ everything is washed out. I went to a banquet at a hotel and out of about 20 pictures, maybe 5 look good -I finally just gave up: it was ruining the banquet for me because I was constantly fiddling with this, trying to get decent pictures. I took it to prom and even with the flash, all the pictures in the limo and inside the actual prom are pitch black. Also, at the after-prom event, where there was florescent lighting, the backgrounds are all dark and most faces are either washed out or really dark. I've tried everything -fiddling around with all the settings and different lightings -like I said, you pretty much have to be in perfect conditions.
The second main problem is that it takes FOREVER to take pictures. From the time you take the picture to the time it actually shows up on the screen and you can take another one is easily almost 10 seconds (at least more than 5 sec). Because I bought it from Target, opening the package rendered it unreturnable, plus it is better than no camera at all. My camera phone literally takes pictures as good if not better than this camera. What was good about this camera? It was cheap (even though its still not even worth what it costs) and it taught me, you truly get what you pay for. I'm finally getting a new camera -I decided to go ahead and shell out some cash this time -hopefully it will turn out better. So to sum it up:
    1. Horrible flash -needs the perfect conditions to take decent pics
    2. Takes forever to take pictures
    3. You're better off with a camera phone
I really expected more from such a big, well-known company, despite the price. Hopefully you won't make the same mistake I did. Pretty much thanks to this camera, I have hardly any pics of some the most important times of my life (graduation, prom, and my last school banquet).

  4. I bought this camera because it was cheaper and thought that a company such as Polaroid would put out a decent camera. Nope. As everyone has stated the picture quality is HORRIBLE. Unless you have the perfect light then don't bother taking the picture. The flash (like stated) washes out faces or it's dark. The time between flash and actual picture is crazy. I have bought brand new batteries only for it to shut off 30 seconds later. The settings reset with every picture. It's a horrible, horrible camera. I have lost many photos with this camera and would do better with a disposable. Do not waste your money.

  5. I purchased this camera 'on sale' as I didn't have previous experience with a digital and didn't want to spend a lot of money. Wish I had spent the extra money as I will now be doing so anyway. The picture quality is not very good. Even using a flash indoors when the lighting is not 'perfect' the quality of the photos is bad. The best pictures you can take with this camera are outdoors in the daylight, and don't think of using at night -- even with the flash, pictures don't show. When using a flash indoors, don't get very close -- they come out way too bright; however, without you can't even see one's face! Just don't buy a Polaroid, look for another make.

  1. well I first got it had no clue how to use it but now after 2yrs... I love it and it has been sucha good camera for me and It is very easy to use. I love it so much it will complement my new addition nicely. SO if your looking for a good starter camera from nikon its good.. If you don't belive me on the pictures this camera can take...Please feel free to take a gander at the photos it has taken

    http://www.pbase.com/lil_irish_angel01

  2. I bought this camera 3 years ago and I still really love it. The clarity is unbelievable, even if someone is in motion that your taking a picture of. It's the best camera I've ever had, it's also very sturdy, my 2 year old has knocked over a numerous amount of times. Great camera.

  3. I got this camera a year or two ago, and it has been great for me. I use it once in a while to do some event and wedding photos on the side with my Video Production business - and it does just fine for the limited pictures I need to take for the events. The build and quality of the body itself is great, feels good in my hands and is fairly intelligent to use if you are used to SLR cameras.
I think at this point, there are some other cameras out there that you could get that might be better for the money by now, but this is still a great camera and takes very nice images. You can see a couple of my shots in the customer image gallery above.
You can't really go wrong with this, and the lens that comes with the camera is just fine - not bad at all. Although you will most likely want/need to get a telephoto lens in addition.

  4. better to buy a point and shoot, photo quality is just as good with Cannon A540, even when enlarging prints up to 36X24inches.

  5. I bought this camera 3 years ago, and it worked beautifully until on a long trip in Yellowstone. After changing the memory card, the mirror locked up, as other posts mention, making the camera completely useless. Since I was past the warranty period, Nikon told me I would be charged, even though they had (have) a vague-enough-to-weasel-out-of service advisory out for this problem. The way the service works is to receive the camera, have a front desk monkey put it into a cost-to-repair category, which you must then authorize payment for before they will proceed to actually see what is wrong with the camera. When I asked how they knew what it would cost and why it wasn't covered under the service advisory when they didn't know what the specific problem was, they just told me they always hear the same complaint (should be a warning to them), but that's the way they'd always done it. I should have bought a Canon. Their service is well-known to be top-notch in the industry, and the cameras are good quality for a lower price. I highly recommend AGAINST Nikon, unless you're buying lenses and flashes.

  1. The camera itself if fine but please beware. They show the product weight at 20lbs meaning you will be charged over $40 to ship when the box it arrived in shows 3 lbs.

That said, I really like the camera, it is going to take a while to get through all the features but seems to be far superior to the standard point and clicks I have been using.

  2. I love this camera so much, I purchased it three times.
It has great zoom, nice clear pics on 4MB selection, nice video too. It comes with a 16MB card, which, now that the hi def pics arent 2MB each (about 800k), you can fit more than 8. I purchased a 1 GB card that can hold several hundred pics, as well as decent, good quality video. It comes with FinePix software which allows you to make a Video CD, DVD, etc.. which is nice for special occassions. I purchased a USB XD reader with this to take the card out, and connect directly into my laptop, rather than physically connecting the camera to the laptop. The downside is the long startup time, and its hunger for batteries. Use Energize Lithum batteries. They last at least 50 times longer than regular batteries. Long distance inside pics with ok or dark light dont come out very well, unless you set it for nightpics, and have a tripod. The manual settings are good if you know what they mean. I like the shutter delay while photographing fireworks with a tripod.

  3. The camera is fine as long as nothing goes wrong. Fuji has the worst customer service I have ever delt with. They pass you from one person to another and do everything they can not to help you. Be prepared to deal with the worst customer service in the business. I really hope this helps you.

  4. I love the size, features and cost of this camera. It make it so much easier for me to enjoy taking pictures and knowing that it is helping me get the correct focus and obtaining pictures I am shooting for one reason and seeing other reasons I would have taken the same shot had I seen it originally.

    Great price!

  5. As an owner of a Pentax K-1000, I really like this Fuji S5100. Its simple to use, and the prints come out very nice. I like the feel of this camera because it feels like my SLR. I find the little pocket digitals no different that the old Kodak pocket camera. I like the S5100 for its options and ease of use.

    Congratulations!

  1. This is my 3rd Sony Cybershot. I keep buying them in the updated versions because they are so good. Easy to operate, good images, and the software provided is very good for transferring to the computer.
I happened to return this particular purchase to Amazon, only because I came across an excellent deal at a local store on close out.

  2. This little dynamite camera is wonderful, and the colors are just great. I love the size!!! I have brought it with me on countless trips to the mainland and even going to family gatherings, out comes my little dynamite camera. I love Sony brand. One more thing, the battery lasts a very long, long time.

  3. We bought this as an upgrade to our 5 year old camera. It is a nice handy size, full of features, and very quick from the off position to ready to take photos. We took the camera to Disney and was please with it's size and photo quiality. I would, however, recommend using the camera several times before using it for permanant photos.

  4. Bought this for my sister-in-law. Nice Point and shoot with nice editing features built in.

Had lens motor problem after a short time. Sometimes lens won't come out...other times it's stuck in the out position.

  5. The camera came in Excellent condition, but in different color. LEGEND didn't make contact with me after a few calls I made. Be careful with them.

  1. Honor student reward- I was proud of him so I bought him the best camera in this price range- his favorite present!

  2. My husband is tired of hearing about how much I love this camera. It does everything I ever wanted in a camera. My boys are both in sports and the action shots are amazing. It can blur a little after dark sometimes but in daylight, I haven't had any blurred shots no matter how fast the subject is moving.

  3. This camera takes pictures incredibly beautiful, I had served in many projects of photography and I can assure you that is fantastic!!!!.

  4. i am a two time panasonic owner and love their products. i owned my previous camera for about 4 years and absolutly loved it. the only reason i upgraded to the dmc-fz8 is because the old on had a crack in the lens. which i didn't know about until i was on vacation. the dmc-fz8 is an execellent camera with more features than i could ever use. the zoom on this camera is incredible. although the pictures tend to get grainy at full extended zoom. anyone have any solutions to this grainyness? other than that i have had no problems. the dmc-fz8 was well worth the money i payed and would do it again. thanks to amazon for all the reviews and imformation which help me make my decision on what camera to buy.

5 comments about Nikon Coolpix P3 8.1MP Digital Camera with 3.5x Vibration Reduction Optical Zoom (Wi-Fi Capable).
  1. I got this camera because it was at the time cheaper than the P4 version. I wanted an easy to use point and shoot camera. I was recommended Nikon because they are the best at taking pictures. I have not really done many indoor photos so I can't comment on them but I have taken lots of pictures. I work at a horse rescue and this camera has proven great for taking pics and the uploading them on the web. The detail is great. Also the vibration reduction was a major factor when choosing for me as often I am not the most steady when taking a pic and take a lot of pictures that are action shots. I love the editing features that are in the camera as I can do it before I upload them onto the computer. I have also used the video capacity to film a horse going over a jump and was greatly impressed with the quality for such a small camera. Most of the time I have allowed the camera to choose the best parameters for the pictures but I have started to look into what can be done and have enjoyed messing around. Over all for the money I have paid I am impressed. I haven't used the wireless download one because my computer won't allow it and also I have got a card reader so I don't need to. When taking pictures you do have the usual shutter delay but no more than any other camera I have tried. So if you want an easy to use relatively compact camera with good specs then I would say this is a good one for you.

  2. Where I am happy with the camera itself....The actual cost, once I received the final total, I am not happy with. The purchase cost was $257., after shipping, exchange rate, AND customs fees(which were not disclosed at the time of purchase, and delayed the shipping) the actual total was $359.48. I could have purchased the camera locally for $325. What was the point of buying from Amazon??????

  3. I've owned my P3 for over a year, and it's going strong. I have several cameras in my bag, including a pricey DSLR, but this is the one I really count on when I'm in a hurry and don't need to mess with a lot of settings.

The Wi-fi capability is a little gimmicky. Download time is very slow--and only a little faster with the supplied USB connect. A 2.0 card reader solves that little snag.

I've used this camera in a broad spectrum of conditions and rarely find that it can't keep up. It has given me pleasing and consistently great images for online auctions, candid snapshots of the grandkids, pet photos, landscapes and macro work.

The build is sturdy and good-looking. The camera is small enough to slip in a shirt pocket or purse.

While full manual control is not a feature of this camera, there's still plenty of tweaking room allowed in the various modes. I find the ISO and WB places on the dial especially handy and am very glad they aren't buried down in a menu somewhere.

The LCD is nice and bright, and image review is a snap.

Full Auto works great. But that's not all. If you want in-camera noise reduction, you've got it. In-camera sharpening, you've got it. The menu is extensive for tailoring the various scene presets. There is an aperture mode for greater control. Metering modes are also selectable--matrix, spot focus, and center weighted average get used a lot.

It's last year's model, but it has everything you need this year. Vibration reduction, consistently snappy images with great dynamic range, 8MP resolution for large prints and a take-anywhere size.

All for a very affordable price!

  4. JUST WHAT I EXPECTED. HADN'T HAD LUCK WITH PREVIUOS CAMERAS BOUGHT, BUT THIS IS JUST WHAT I WANTED. EASY TO USE AND EXCELLENT PICTURES!

  5. Not being a digital camera kind of person, this is easy to use, and takes very good photos. However, I don't like not having a viewfinder. Using only the screen drains batteries quickly. Constantly turning it off to preserve battery life results in not having it ready when needed.

Using this camera in the sun is difficult if you are wearing polarized sunglasses.

The selector button moves too easily from setting to setting, resulting in the camera possibly not ready to use once turned back on if it has been put into a pocket.
