  1. After charging the battery less than 10 times the F30 can no longer be charged. The camera will work if connected to the wall but as soon as I disconnect it, it dies. So either the battery is dead or the cameras charge function is broken. Either way this is a terrible quality product and I regret not going with a Canon.

  2. I got this camera about a month ago and I just took it with me on a little vacation to Mexico City. I took some amazing pictures. With some work and practice, you'll be able to get great pictures out of this little camera. ALL of my shots were taken without the flash. The natural looking pictures look so much more pleasant to me. I was even able to do hand held night scenes. This camera is well worth the money!

  3. I bought this camera last year as a gift to myself - it's amazing, beautiful clean shots, hardly any editing neccessary (for red eye reduction etc). The only reason why I did not give it a full 5 star rating - is because the zoom on the camera is only x3 and the digital zoom is not even worth mentioning, however don't be distressed - you can more than make up for it, when editing on your computer using the software that came with the camera.

Sadly, my own was stolen & had it not been for that, I would still be quite content to use it, so now I'm looking into upgrading to either the F31 or F50, but too be honest, I'm more leaning towards the F31 - it's almost exactly the same, but has face recognition!

  4. The photo quality is great- especially in low light sitauations. We are very happy with our purchase. The quality of video clips are super nice too. The F30 camera is durable, fast, easy to operate & the results are fantastic. I can't think of anything more I would want from a compact digital camera,,,well,, it would be nice if the battery door didn't slide open easily,, we put a piece of scotch tape over ours. Still, worth getting this one.

  5. I bought this last year, and it works just great! I especially love the fast shooter of 3200 as the maximum. With this feature, I could easily catch those wonderful moments of my husband playing basketball with his buddies.
I hope there would be another good deal as good as the price I bought last year because I happened to crashed it and it could not work any more...

  1. If you have a limited budget this is a good camera, the batteries run out fast and if you don't mind pressing the shutter button and the picture finally snaps which seems like 2 seconds later-this is for you. I thought this lag time wouldn't be a big deal until I used it, it became a huge annoyance and a big drawback for enjoying using this camera.

  2. This camera does work pretty good. I had a 1GB sd card and it held tons of pictures. The pictures turn out good and the camera has a good flash. The only problem I've had is that the batteries don't last very long. It seemed to do fine for about a year but about 6 months ago I noticed I would put new batteries in and they would be dead by the end of the day sometimes even sooner. The instructions say that if you use the LCD when your taking the pictures instead of the viewfinder it uses up more of the battery but I don't use the LCD so I don't think it's that. If no one else has had this problem then it may just be my camera but in my opinion it's a lot cheaper and easier to just have a rechargeable camera then to be buying numerous batteries. Or just buy your own rechargeable batteries. Other then that, I've had no other problems. It's a great, easy-to-use, beginners camera.

  3. The 7530 works fine. Like some other reviewers, battery life is very short. I've tried rechargeable NI-MH cells rated 2200 mAh each. These did not last more than a day or two. The camera seems to drain them even when not in use. This happened with AA Lithium cells also. These fresh cells lasted 2 or 3 days and were then dead.
This camera has been around and has many reviews. This seems a common problem. I wonder if it is common to all digital cameras?
Aside from this the camera is easy to use. It does take a very good picture.
When I use the camera I turn off the image display, and there are no "dirty" contacts. I can not get over how it goes through batteries.
It is bad enough to make me miss my old SLR film camera. I wanted rechargable lithiums but they are limited and may not be much better. Oh well.

  4. I bought this, my first digital camera, to document the building of my new house. It worked reasonably well at first, but when winter closed in and the builders were still hard at work, my camera wasn't. Every time I turned it on it immediately turned off again. For a while after that it still worked okay indoors, but eventually I had the problem regardless of the temperature. Occasionally if I kept turning it on I won the battle and it would stay on and take a reasonably good picture, but the next time I wanted to use it I would have to go through the same hassle. I have seen good reviews of other Kodak products, but I won't buy another. I've just replaced the camera with a Nikon S700 and the difference, both in quality of the pictures and in ease of use (make that possibility of use) is incredible.

  5. I'm a thunderstorm enthusiast, so I've been using this to take photos of clouds and video of lightning storms. While it's definitely not professional quality, it's great for a hobbyist.

Don't bother with the digital zoom, though, honestly. It makes pictures far too grainy.

  1. Camera is compact, easy to use and uses card. Great for teenager or handy to keep in car or handbag as second camera for those don't want to miss shots.

  2. I never recieved a reply from the company. They can't bother to answer my few simple questions, i don't buy their product.

  1. My first dslr, its fab. Of course I cannot compare it to others, however its significantly superior to any of the point and shoots I have used.

Two criticisms. First the autofocus seems to take a few moments to set in, especially with fast moving shots making for blurry pictures. Second, high speed shooting isnt as fast as I would have hoped, just 2 frames a second - shame they couldn't get 4 or 5.

  2. I was looking for an entry level DSLR to purchase as a gift, so I spent a good amount of time at a local store playing with DSLRs. I have a Canon EOS 40D that I love, but my camera was way to pricey to buy as a gift. I tried the most popular DSLRs from Canon and Nikon, but the Panasonic caught my eye because of the movable screen. The camera was easy to operate and took decent pictures (I bring along memory cards so I can try out the cameras); however, like my Panasonic compact camera (I have a TZ3), the images were either too noisy or overprocessed for my taste.

But my eyes eventually lowered to the price tag, and I was in disbelief. This camera costs as much as my EOS40D (a semi-pro model). Perhaps if this Panasonic cost $400, I would be on here saying that it was the best $400 camera you could get, and I'd give it more stars, but for this price you could be getting a camera that is in a whole different league.

That being said, if you want to spend this much on a camera, consider the Canon 40D or the Nikon D80 (or spend a bit more for the D300)--they will give you much better photos, more customization, and solid performance for the same price. If you're just looking for a beginner DLSR (like I was), stick with the Canon Rebel XTi or the Nikon D40x (or even an Olympus e-volt). Any of those three cameras will give you as good or better photos, more upgrade options (more lenses & accessories), and best of all, you could basically get two of those cameras for the price of one this Panasonic L10.

  3. I am a 'collector' of dslr cameras. I have just about every panasonic lumix camera available and quite a few canons, sonys, and nikons. This camera, by far, is my favorite. It is easy to handle, easy to use, totally stupid proof, and the pictures come out great. I have a Nikon d80 and it's a great camera but for me, this is still my favorite. It's just a funner camera and easier to handle. I am in no-way a professional photographer, I just love photography and this camera is a joy.

  4. Panasonic DMC-L10 10.1MP Digital SLR Camera with Leica D Vario-Elmar 14-50mm f/3.8-5.6 Mega OIS LensI bought this camera because of the swing out viewfinder. It is a jewel of a camera. The first pictures I took few closeups of some flowers. The results were stunning.I am a little surprised that the camera doesn't sell that well. One problem is that you can't get it as a body only camera. The lens that comes with it is superb but expensive, but it is supposed to be able to take all four thirds lenses.I will get a Zukor lens longer of longer focus soon. I am really a Canon fan and have a lot of their lenses. This camera is every bit as sharp and precise. The swing out focus is nice but makes a lot of noise when you use it.Since the price has come down a bit this a real bargain.

  1. I bought this raincover for my Canon 20D but have rarely used it. It is a bit cumbersome to get on and space consuming. The large lens cover is way to big for my 100-400mm lens and the smaller ones are uncomfortable to use as well. To get to the lens switches (IS or AF/MF & zoom) you pretty much have to take off the cover. I find myself using a plastic trash bag more than I use this. I live in the pacific northwest and it rains a lot here but I still have not found a reason to pack this in with my photo gear. Maybe if I ever shoot something during a monsoon, it may be worth the investment.

  2. This rain cover is designed for the big pro level lenses that you see on the sidelines at NFL games such as a 400mm f2.8, 500mm f4 and 600mm f4 lens. As stated by another reviewer this cover is too big for consumer level lenses. I have had mine for three years now to cover my monster Nikon 400 f2.8 lens and it fits perfectly. As a professional photographer I have to be ready to shoot in any conditions and the Kata 704 combined with the 702 has gotten me through some seriously bad weather for up to 12 hours at a time with out any leakage. If it is a light sprinkle rain I can get away with out using the 702 as my hat and the trailing edge of the 704 will cover most of my camera which is weather "resistant" but if the rain is coming hard I don't compromise. It takes about two minutes to put both covers on so if the chance of rain is above 50% I'll put the cover on before the shoot starts. I have also used the cover in dusty situations where it also helps keep the lens clean. When I first heard about Kata they made bullet proof vests. The cover may not be bullet proof but it sure works well against the elements.
