5 comments about Canon Digital Rebel XSI 12MP Digital SLR Camera (Black Body Only).
- Hello everyone! Well I got the Canon XSI the other day and i wanted to let you all know how the live view work. Not good!!! Let me explain how it works and why it will not work underwater.
1.You Have two choices in Auto Focus in Live View.
Quick View: Samples a Focus points
Live View: Samples in center
Both are slow.
2.When you think how live view should work it doesn't. You would think to focus you would press the Shutter botton down 1/2 way and it would Focus. Well in Live view it doesn't. Strange? How you do it is.You press the AE Lock Botton. Then after it focuses you press the Shutter Botton. The biggest problem it take 1 to3 Sec. just to Focus. Good by fish!!! Man i had high hopes for this camera but i am going to send it back. If someone else has seen a better way of doing this let us know. But i don't think so. Man this camera Sucks!!!!!
- This review is strictly comparison of image quality of these four SLRs, I am completely leaving out ergonomics, features, size of LCD etc.
After shooting 100s of shots and pixel peeping images of identical scenes.
Color reproduction:
1st: Nikon D60
2nd: Canon XTi and Canon XSi
4th: Olympus E420
D60 has sliglty more vibrant and punchier colors than the Canons. Casual user will be much happier with Nikon over the other three. XSi and XTi and identical in this regard inspite of the former's 14-bit A/D converison advantage. Upgarding from XTi to XSi will not give any advantage in real world improvements in terms of color reproduction.
Image Noise (at 400 and 1600 ISO)
1st: Canon XTi
2nd: Canon XSi
3rd: Nikon D60
3rd: Olympus E420
XTi has the least image noise, as it has less megapixels in the same area CMOS sensor when compared XSi. D60's CCD is noisier but it also has more color information at higher ISOs where Canons mutes colors to suppress the noise. E420 smaller LiveMOS sensor has worst of both worlds. It's images are as Noisy as D40 but colors are as muted as Canon's.
If you factor in the prices, the best choices are either XTi for D60. The trade off is between better color and less noise.
- For quite some time I was wanting to get a digital SLR camera, because I was sick and tired of the shutter lag that regular digital cameras have. Though I was happy with the pictures my Konica Minolta Dimage Z10 made - especially outdoors, I dreaded to make pictures indoors or trying to capture moving objects on picture (now you see me, now you don't).
So I was contemplating for month which digital SLR I wanted and needed. Since this is my first camera of this kind and I'm merely a hobby fotographer, I didn't want to shell out several grands. But I wanted something that had enough "oomph" to it to justify the price tag. So I looked into the Canon Rebel XTi, Nikon D40, Olympus E30 and Olympus E50. The thing I didn't like about the Olympus was the fact, that it seems that I had to buy Olympus picture cards and they are kinda pricy.
So I went back and forth between the Canon Rebel XTi and the Nikon D40. Then I looked into the XSi and read the repords on amazon.com and other sites, compared both Canon cameras side by side. After a week or two I finally decided to spend a bit more but have a few more extras with my camera.
And I had a lot of fun in the last few days with this camera. I can take pictures with it, that come out clear and vivid even in lower light indoors. I would have had smudgy blurrs with my other camera under the same condition. Right now I am only using the Canon lens EF 50 f/1.8 II for it's higher sensitivity to light, but wait until I go on vacation to Northern Germany in 2 weeks and I will try out the lens that came with the camera. Can't hardly wait!
I have had no problems figuring out the functions on the camera so far, but then again I used to own a manual SLR years ago. But if you are new to SLR fotography enirely I would say take the manual and your camera and just shoot pictures in different settings and modes and learn by trying. Don't be intimidated by all the lights and options and wheels and buttons!
In a nutshell: So far I haven't regreded my desicion to buy this camera!
- In short, I read reviews on this camera and found everything to be true. My wife loves the camera. I shopped for over a month at online camera retailers and found Amazon to have the best deal. Shipping was a breeze as well, I recived it before i was suppose to. Would recommend to others and would definetly buy again.
- I picked up this camera two weeks ago at a local store. Overall, it's a solid camera. Color reproduction is wonderful, it's quick, low noise with high iso, and terrific macros. The camera is blazing fast. Please refer to the other posters for the good points of this camera.
Now i'll discuss the shortcomings. The major one, which has been referenced to in various forums such as dpreview and a few online review sites is poor AutoFocus. Not all cameras are affected, but mine was. If you shoot at an object from w/in 10 ft, it has trouble over 50% of the time picking up the autofocus point and often selects the wrong point. If you use center focus, it gets pretty close but final image is still a bit blurry. It becomes a bit sharper w/ the live view autofocus system. When I took some outdoor pics of some animals, i couldn't quite lock on what i was interested in. Even when taking shots of people outside w/ a prominent background, it seems to have trouble deciding if it wants to focus on the person or the background. I'd say that 20% of my shots were actually in focus and those look wonderful. The remaining ones had the focus off. So i'm gonna send my camera to canon for repair. I went to best buy and tried out a 40D and the focus was rock solid. If you get a good camera, kodus to u.

5 comments about Olympus Stylus 1030SW 10.1MP Digital Camera with 3.6x Optical Wide Angle Zoom (Green).
- I've been using a Sony camera for a few years and was fairly happy with it. My first digicam was an Olympus and I loved it, I'm still not sure why I bought a Sony after that??? Well, I'm happy to say that I'm back with Olympus again in this fine camera!
Compared to the Soney Cybershot T-9, the Olympus is just slightly bigger and heavier, but not much of either. I really like the way it is put together, feels solid and well made. I've only used it for about a week now so I can't report thoroughly on it but here are my first impressions...
The Good: Solid, well made feel. Large LCD screen is very clear and easy to see in daylight. Waterproof feature is great! The macro functions are very nice, there is an LED light that can be turned on to highlight the subject. It works well in Macro mode but not good for much more. I'm not a pro but I think it takes awesome pictures. The underwater shots I took on the first day (in the pool) were fantastic. Everybody that sees them thinks they are great too! I also took some underwater video and it came out great. The underwater settings seem to work well but I haven't tried any other settings underwater yet. One thing I want to try is video with sound underwater just to see what it picks up. I am not using the software that came with the camera so I can't comment on that, but I will say that it comes with Olympus software that is pretty extensive. I remember the version on my old Olympus was pretty good but now I just use what's included with Windows Vista, which is fine for me right now.
The Not So Good: The controls are a bit small so it is sometimes difficult to get my chubby fingers on the right buttons. Just a minor annoyance though. The wrist strap that comes with the camera is nice but for a camera whose main feature is Waterproof, they should have included a beefier strap that could cinch up around your wrist. If I were a to take this camera in deeper water I would want a better strap to ensure it wouldn't come off and sink to the bottom.
That's all I have for now. I've had no problems at all so far and the waterproof features are working well. Just remember to flush the camera with fresh water after you take it in the pool or ocean and make sure all the seals are intact before you dunk it in any water!
- Great product! I purchased this for a trip my wife was going on and she loves it. It takes great pictures and completely lives up to the product description in terms of toughness. Highly recommended.
- and is easy to use...great user interface. Underwater movies with sound is a cool feature. Just when you think you have all the features you need, you read the instructions and find that there are many more that are easily mastered and a lot of fun. Get the floating wrist strap and take it on a snorkeling trip.
- After taking some time to research this camera, I went ahead and purchased it. On a recent trip to Cabo San Lucas, this camera survived a 2-1/2 to 3 ft. fall onto a marble floor, vibrations from an atv ride, the dust from said atv ride, and the rinse off of the dust. I also used it in the rain at a baseball game, something I would have been hesitant to do with a standard point-and-shoot. The pictures and video were of very good quality just in the normal settings, as I haven't gone through all the settings yet. High marks to Olympus for this camera.
- I took this camera on a few kayak trips. It performed great, is easy to use, and had excellent battery life. One problem was that the camera insisted the battery cover was open, although it wasn't. It took a hair dryer for a few seconds to the open battery compartment to straighten things out. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the lcd and the face of the camera were scratched for no apparent reason other than the normal exposure to gear and elements of a kayaking trip. A camera that is supposed to be tough shouldn't scratch so easily. I would suggest getting the silver as the scratches may be less noticeable if you plan to take it along on a similar trip.

5 comments about Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ18S 8.1MP Digital Camera with 18x Wide Angle MEGA Optical Image Stabilized Zoom (Silver).
- I've had this camera for a month, and purchased it after my Lumix FZ20 died in the cold. The FZ20 was a very good camera with a 12X zoom, so when I saw the FZ18 with 18X zoom, I purchased it. The camera is very light compared to my old one, and the using the Swiss Army camera bag I have I simple strap it to my belt for my motorcycle and bicycle rides. It's so light I don't even notice it. The zoom is what really makes this camera fun. I've reduced the image size to 5 mega pixel to increase the zoom to 23X. Doing that I'm able to shoot images of birds and other wildlife from quite a long distance away. On a recent hike I was able to shoot several images of some Red Fox pups at play from quite a long distance. I would have never been able to get close to them, so the 23X zoom is what enabled me to get the shots. I haven't played with the many different settings in the menu yet and have just been using the intelligent auto mode which works great. For the price this is a good bang for the buck. I highly recommend it.
- This is my second Panasonic camera. My first was the DMC-FZ7 and I'm extremly pleased with the Leica lens and the quality of pictures. I use the Macro feature a lot for doing close ups of small trademarks and logos on products that we sell on Ebay. That was my major reason for buying this camera and I have not been dissapointed yet.
- I bought this as an upgrade from Canon S2IS I wanted the somewhat stronger telephoto for wildlife but find myself loving the wide angle for scenery. The fully automatic setting is getting me photos that I didn't used to get because it took too long to punch in the settings. I shoot telephoto from a paraglider and the image stabilzation really matters
- It's pretty much like any normal point and shoot but with a really good lens! The movies are amazing on the camera and that's just all do to a really good leans. If you want a really good point and shoot, don't go get thous ones that are 400-500 bucks with little lenses. Get this one!
- After breaking my old digital camera, I checked on-line reviews and decided on a Lumix DMC-FZ185 digital camera. Good choice! The zoom lens is powerful and easy to use. The prints are crisp. I still haven't mastered the Panasonic-supplied editing software, but the images are easy to transfer to other software. I recommend this camera!

5 comments about Fujifilm Finepix S700 7.1MP Digital Camera with 10x Optical Zoom.
- Much better than my previous 2 digital cameras for about half the price, it does far more than they did and produces better pix. Particularly useful is the video viewfinder for bright outdoor viewing when you can't see the bigger LCD screen, and the ability to take indoor pictures by available light, something I couldn't do with previous cameras.
Be aware that this is NOT a pocket-sized camera or even close. It's easy to shoot with one hand, but at about the size of a triple hamburger, it's no going in anyone's pocket. It's also fairly rugged, having survived a 5-foot drop onto a concrete floor.
If there's a better digital camera for the price, I'd like to know which one! Pass this one up if you really need the smaller size, but remember that you're giving up the 10X zoom when you do that.
- The camera is to small and acward to use. I recommend a good sturdy tripod if your hands are large. Compare this to a canon product before purchasing this digital camera. There is a noticeable difference between the two Manufactures.
- You made have read reviews before for this camera that it does not work well in low light situations. That is only partly true. After first receiving this camera in the mail i was quite disappointed. Indoor pictures looked really bad and noisy! After doing a little research, i found out it is because in "AUTO" mode the camera will generally keep the iso at about 800 or so, which is NOT a good thing. this camera, when the iso gets above 200, the images get very nasty looking, this is especially noticeable when taking a picture that has wood in it.
I have found an easy fix to this problem which drastically enhances the picture quality when taking shots indoors. I first put the camera into "P" mode, which allows manual control of flash power, exposure, iso, etc. i manually set the ISO down to 100 or 64. After doing this, the image quality of an indoor shot goes up dramatically.
on a side note, this camera does very well outdoors, colors look amazing, especially for the cheap price of the camera.
overall this is a high quality camera that is easy to use and has nice features.
- I bought this camera just before taking a 9 day trip to Alaska, I was never once disappointed. The 10x zoom is amazing for long range photos and the macro feature allows for amazing close up vegetation shots. If you are an amature the traditional auto setting is all you'll ever need (along with the other 7+ auto settings), however if you are interested in learning how to take better photos there are myriad possibilities for customization. The picture of this camera makes it look slightly bulky but I assure you it is not, it easily fits into a small Kodak neoprene camera case (even with an extra set of batteries and the strap attached). I was able to take somewhere around 400 pictures before the 4 stock AA batteries ran out. I replaced them with Energizer Lithium AAs and never had to change them again for the rest of the 6 days. I love the fact that there are no moving parts to the lense, all zooming in/out of the lense happens behind the glass. This makes it impossible for you to jam dirt, sand, etc. in your lense. Super easy to use, phenomenally crisp photos, under $200. What more can you ask for? BUY THIS CAMERA
- I really like the features with this camera. Especially the zoom features and auto part. I'm sure that I'll continue to use this camera in the standard mode. More features than a novice user needs.

- This is an expensive point and shoot camera. I just assumed a company as classy as Nikon would include basic photo editing software. PHOTO EDITING SOFTWARE IS NOT INCLUDED. So you better have some from your old camera. I guess that's why the in-camera editing is touted so highly. I think I will return this camera and get a Canon that comes with good software. Nikon recommends on the phone that you buy their newest, less than friendly software.
- This camera is really great. The size and weight are perfect. It takes wonderful photos indoor or out. The LCD display is large and clear even in sunlight (a problem with my other digital camera). I use the camera to take photos for painting, mostly portraits, and the clarity of the 10mp allows me to blow up images to concentrate on specific features without any quality loss or pixelation. I am very happy with this camera; I have recmmended it to friends. Great buy!
- My only disappointment with this camera is that I read all the BAD reviews AFTER I purchased it! :( However, it has worked out well for me. Stabilization is good, and I have not found the images noisy (as the BAD reviews say), but they are a bit soft. The feel of the camera is wonderful! I have used small point-and-shoot cameras for several years, and am happy to be back to this format (used SLRs in my film stock days). Color balance is excellent. I also like the option of the manual flash. It lets me switch quickly back and forth between using it and not using it easily when doing table-top photos of items for e-bay. I also really like the wide-angle to super telephoto lens included! For the price, this is a fine camera!

5 comments about Nikon Coolpix S600 10MP Digital Camera with 4x Wide Angle Optical Zoom with Vibration Reduction (Slate Black).
- I've had alot of compact digital cameras (I seem to have a penchant for losing them), mostly Canons and Sonys, but this little Nikon is by far the best. It takes the sharpest pictures and most of all, it's free of that annoying split second delay that you find on most digital cams. The battery life is decent, but it's a good idea to buy a second battery and keep it charged in the little cloth Nikon case you can buy with the camera. It fits in a shirt pocket and is ready to shoot at a moment's notice. I absolutely love it and recommend it without reservation. Now, if I can avoid losing it.....Nikon Coolpix S600 10MP Digital Camera with 4x Wide Angle Optical Zoom with Vibration Reduction (Slate Black)
- Having owned many Nikons, starting with the original Nikon F SLR, and having been a professional photographer with NASA in the 1970s, I long ago gave up carrying a heavy bag of multiple camera bodies and several lenses. I bought the Coolpix 600 to have something I could stick in my fanny pack and because there are a bunch of great cameras available (makes your head spin) I based this purchase on a key capability -- a wide angle greater than the usual 35mm equivalent and considered Nikon, Canon and a few other makes. Owning a Coolpix 995, and being an unabashed Nikon fan, the Coolpix 600 won out. One has to marvel at the electronic wizardry in today's cameras -- vibration reduction (hand-held shots that are sharp at as low as 1/4 sec shutter speed!), 10 megapixels and an interface I'm familiar with. Actually, it's even simpler to make changes than the 995. Of course, this isn't a Nikon D300 (my next purchase if I can justify it), but in the meantime, the Coolpix 600 is a camera I can carry easily and takes great pictures with all the advantages of the latest electronic features in an almost too small package. I do miss a viewfinder, but am essentially very happy with this purchase. It is a perfect compromise. I broke it in during a trip to Chicago and it will get a thorough workout in a couple of months in Dublin and Cornwall.
- I take a lot of wildlife pictures, and the "Active Child" setting is PERFECT for my needs. This camera has helped me take the most stunning pictures I have ever been able to take. I am an amateur photographer, and this camera has all of the features I need to take my pictures from being good to being great. I definitely recommend reading the manual 1st, though, and I may even re-read now that I have had the camera for a month. Awesome buy - great value for the money!
- I am very pleased with this very small, compact Nikon camera. The telephoto, and wide angle are exceptional.. With the added free shipping, to the already low price, the value was superb.. A++ Brian
- Very clever, capable and pocketable P&S, but far too fragile for most purposes. My S600 became a piece of junk in <3 weeks of routine use after succumbing to the fatal and all-too-common "lens error". None of the user fixes described on the internet could revive it.
All 8 previously owned digital SLR and P&S cameras have proven far more durable than this otherwise worthy P&S.
IMO, an unrecoverable failure mode as prevalent as the 'lens error' is prima facie evidence of a fundamental design flaw, but Nikon considers it prima facie evidence of user mishandling. Their 'warranty' repair fee generally exceeds the street price of the camera.
NB: At the very least, this camera requires a case stiff enough to preclude =any= possibility of inadvertent power-up, the most likely proximal cause of death for my S600.

5 comments about Nikon D300 DX 12.3MP Digital SLR Camera with 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G ED-IF AF-S VR DX Nikkor Zoom Lens.
- Very easy to make the setting on P mode using the buttons and most of the setting can be made using the buttons.
A custom setting is very easy and can be made fine adjustment later.
Most of all, I like the fine adjustment of White Balance in the menu and can be taken illusion photo by using this adjustment.
Very low noise at higher ISO setting.
I took group of about 150 dance recital photo first time in the theatre yesterday.
I have to make quick move to take the photo because of prohibited photo taken, but result are very good using manual focus and ISO setting at 1600 without flash.
No need to use daytime flash by using D-Lighting system and can be set before taking the photo or make a adjustment after photo taken.
The result is much better quality than the using the Nikon software D-Lighting adjustments.
The only thing I like to have is a 35mm size sensor like D3 model.
The other future did not try yet but I give five stars for the picture quality and true colors.
- First of all I need to say that I don't own this camera. I own a Canon EOS 40D and I am very pleased with it. D300 is in most aspects at least as good as 40D and in many aspects better, enough to justify the price difference. I had the Nikon for a few days and took some shots. It has amazing ergonomics and image quality. The feature set is fantastic.
Highly recommended.
- During the first month until the Auto Focus stopped working, I was very impressed with this dslr and Nikkor lens.
Then suddenly the AF would not respond in the middle of outdoor shooting. I am waiting to hear what Nikon service center has to say. Searching a bit on the web I could read other D300 owners complaining about the same fault.
If other people write about this issue I can guess this is not a rare case of technical failure, but rather a sign of insufficient manufacturing and quality level -and this should not happen with a camera of this class. So overall I am disappointed with Nikon.
- Everyone else has already covered the details, so I'll just add my voice to the chorus. Particularly, I am amazed at the photos shot at ISO3200 and the fact that you can get something truly usable at ISO6400.
Also, the feel of it in your hands is terrific.
- Nikon D300 is very good camera, but it took 3 weeks to ship the item to my place, poor package.

5 comments about Nikon Coolpix S550 10MP Digital Camera with 5x Optical Zoom (Graphite Black).
- As a fairly cheap point-and-shoot camera, the Nikon Coolpix S550 is a pretty neat piece of hardware. It's certainly not a high-end DSLR, but it's good at what it does, and it offers some nice pluses over other cameras in its price range.
The good:
-5x optical zoom is very good for a little camera like this, and is tops in this camera's class. I would like to remind readers that "digital zoom" really just crops out part of a picture to make it look bigger in the viewfinder while destroying actual shot quality, so please disregard the "digital zoom" on this or any camera.
-10megapixel resolution is pretty phenominal, especially in this camera's price range, especially coupled with the 5x zoom. Dollar-for-dollar, you're getting a lot.
-Shutter and record speeds seem great. Note that with megapixels this high, you're going to need a high-speed SDHC memory card if you don't want to see too much of the hourglass.
-The high resolution and zoom really combine for wow power when you take movies with the camera. Although the mic is terrible and you'll probably just want to mute it, you can take movies of a pet where you can see every individual hair from a respectable distance if you so choose. On a one-gig card, I can shoot a half-hour of movies at this quality.
-The camera's overall size is very comfortable. Not much taller and wider than a credit card, not much thicker than a thin paperback, and compeletely flat when it's powered down. Yet it's still roomy- I'm a 6'+ guy with stubby fingers, and I've never fumbled a button yet.
-Tons of modes. The camera can take widescreen pictures or regular format, PAL or NTSC, and resolutions from standard tv (640x480) through the roof (over 3,000 vertical pixels). It has smile recognition, stabilization, various compensation filters including red-eye. It has Portrait, Outdoor, Indoor, and even Copy for taking pictures of documents just in case you're a secret agent on a budget. The basic Shoot and Smile modes seem wholly satisfactory, but this camera offers plenty of room to grow. Yesterday I took some very clear photos of moths in flight, with no adjustments other than setting the camera to high ISO.
The not-so-good:
-No optical viewfinder, only the digital screen. It's a very good and very big screen though, so this is mostly just for nostalgia's sake.
-The camera doesn't have a dial for the various settings. Instead of just clicking over to Portrait or Outdoor, you have to hit a menu button and look around. This is a pretty small complaint overall, but I would have still preferred a wheel.
-I've noticed that with a lot of low-end digital cameras like this, you can see that as the camera auto-adjusts it will show a perfectly sharp picture in the viewfinder, but keep adjusting until the picture becomes a bit blurry. Maybe this is just something about the way I take pictures, but I know this camera is capable of clearer shots. This is especially evident in extreme close-ups, such as under a foot away. The camera will adjust right up to a perfectly crisp photo for a moment, then keep going to a blurry mess before it snaps the shot. If I could just cut out the last few moments of zooming, I'd have gotten a perfect photo. I saw this same thing with a number of comparable cameras while doing in-store tests, and I'm puzzled as to what causes it (maybe I need to turn off the assist beam sometimes, I don't know). I'll have to check the camera's official site and such to see if I can find tips.
-5x zoom, while really wonderful for the price range, still seems a bit stifling. Maybe I'm just at the point in my life where I need to own up to the truth and save up for a high-end SLR. 5x optical is certainly much better than the 3x zoom that comes with most comparable cameras.
Overall, I really got this camera because it was time to upgrade from my old Canon A60. The A60 took really great photos in the right conditions, but it couldn't adapt to conditions well, and it had a very big delay between pressing the button and getting a shot. The Coolpix has already paid for itself with smile recognition- I'm a "psychic blinker" who manages to always shut his eyes the moment a photo is taken, and I haven't gotten a single photo of myself with my eyes closed, even doing close-ups with flash.
If you're just starting out in the digital world, this camera has all the best features with a clear interface and instant point-and-shoot modes that require no calibration. If you're like me and you just need to find a smarter digital camera, you could do a lot worse than this one for the same money. If this camera suits your price range, you simply must put it at the top of your list. The only reason I'd suggest passing on this camera is if you've got significantly more money to spend on a higher class of camera.
- Great product. Small size, Easy buttons, quality pictures. Make sure you get a charger that can run on 120-240 V anywhere in the world, since the product only comes with one that runs in the US (120V).
- I am so glad I got this camera before my vacation to Maine. This camera far exceeds my expectations. I bought a memory card that holds over 500 pictures. Great quality. All the pictures turned out terrific. No red eye, no bad flash, no problems at all!!! My old kodak had worn out and I was amazed at how great these pictures turned out. Great value for the price. I highly recommend.
- I have been looking for a small, light, GOOD camera to take on an extensive backpacking trip. This camera fits that criteria well. The 5X zoom lets you reach out and get pictures that a 3X zoom just doesn't do well.
The only negative I have found is that it uses a proprietary battery instead of something readily available (like AAs).
- My new Coolpix S550 does everything I expect it to do. Foremost, it is very compact and fits into my pants or coat pocket so I can get shots when opportunities come up without the bother of lugging a bigger camera and also people are not put off by my looking like a dogged camera man. It takes great pictures. I still do not really like the new approach to photography using the little screen on the back of the camera instead of a traditional viewer. However, I have two other digital cameras that fulfill the rest of my needs. Nothing beats a nice Nikon or Cannon SLR. But, they do not fit in my pocket and will do me no good if they are at home and I am out somewhere wishing I had my camera for that great unexpected opportunity shot.

- I am very happy with this ultra zoom digital camera - a great tool for every serious photographer.
- I went from a 5mp point and shoot camera to this Olympus and i was amazed. I thought my pictures looked good on the 5mp, but this takes amazing pictures. You can take a picture of a rock and it'll turn out looking very professional. Very easy to use, more options then you'll ever need. I usually shoot pics. in auto mode and they always turn out great, i can't imagine what someone who knows what they're doing with all the rest of these setting can do. Instead of a button for zoom this has a zoom ring, which i was a little skeptical about when i ordered it, but once i got to use it i noticed how much better control it gives you over the zoom. Wide angle option is great, 20X zoom is amazing and the picture quality of 10mp is great as well. The camera itself has a nice heavier feel to it, grip is super comfortable. Overall it feels like it's very well made. I used to think $400-$500 for a camera was expensive but, this Olympus changed my mind, the pics. you can take with this is well worth couple hundred buck. I'm extremely happy with this purchase and would recommend this to everyone.
- I bought this camera primarily as an upgrade to bring for traveling. I didn't want the bulk of having to carry around the extra lenses of an SLR, but needed more features than most point and shoot have. This camera was a perfect match for my needs. I've had this camera for two months now and have taken numerous pictures with it. My only two complaints are the XD memory (needlessly more expensive alternative to SD) that it requires and the fact that the auto-zoom isn't as good as it could be. I love the range that the built in lens has and the amount of manual adjustment that is available. It will even shoot in Raw.
- This is my third Olympus camera and I love it. The picture quality is great and the zoom is phenominal. The only problem that I have had so far is when in the record mode I am not getting any sound and cannot find where to turn it on. The camera menu will not let me in to change a setting. I guess I will have to call support.
- Well let's talk about the good thing of this cam, this is a small cam when comparing it to SLR and it have a rigid body with a lot of good features you can take advantage of them when using it. The menu is SLR like and you will feel comfortable when you are changing the different settings and it has the best wide angle in this category. The bad things is the batteries meter it suddenly go down without any previous notice, and another thing is the focus night time, it's really bad and it should be fixed from the company because not always you will have the patience to manual focus things that's why I am giving it 3 stars.
Finally, if you do not have alarm to wake you up do not worry any more this one include alarm with snooze option.

5 comments about Sony Cyber-shot DSCW120MDG/P 7.2 MP Digital Camera with 4x Optical Zoom with Super Steady Shot (Pink) with LCS-TWE/PI Carrying Case and MSRW-MD1/P Memory Stick Duo Adaptor.
- I was looking for a smaller camera that would take good quality pictures, especially on trips. I take college students abroad for a month in Costa Rica and wanted to be able to do a blog with lots of pictures to record their experiences. This camera far exceeded my expectations! It is extremely simple to operate. I have been able to figure out features that are new to me on the fly without having to refer to the manual. Particularly impressive to me are the video capabilities and the high sensitivity / low light with no flash setting. I have been able to take excellent shots in dark museums where no flash is allowed and have been able to upload good-quality videos to the blog. The software that comes with the camera works well and is very user-friendly. The 4X optical zoom is not powerful enough to take fine nature photographs from great distances, but it is good enough to zoom in to compose a picture for most general purposes. All in all, I highly recommend this camera, especially for travel.
- this was a great investment. I got that package deal (camera, case,&duo stick for computer) at a better price than Sony or Best Buy offered. Camera has really great features (auto smile, set to look for adults or children, video, & slideshow to name a few). The only downside is that Sony has not made a Marine Kit to fit this camera yet for underwater use. Excellent quality on printed pictures.
- An excellent camera -- very easy for me to use without having to read directions -I don't like to read directions.
- you called and said my amazon charge had expired so I gave you my visa. i said i wanted it updated. the next day you called to ask if i wanted my charge updated for the camera i had asked about. ok. then i got two cameras. i had to pay 15.00 to return the second camera.
i was very upset over this....
- All goog, but the camera's and accesories came in a great box like PS3, too bigger.
