5 comments about Fujifilm Finepix Z100fd 8MP Digital Camera with 5x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom (Silver).
- This camera looks very stylish and slim. I like the lighted Z and it has many different camera modes and takes great pictures.
- I'm not sure what's wrong with the cameras that the people who gave this one star had, but my Fugifilm z100fd camera is great. It's sleak and slim and takes great pictures and video. I love the fact that the lens doesn't have to go in or out, and the sliding cover is great for protecting it. I've had this camera for a good while and have no complaints thus far. If you're looking for a under $200 camera, I would strongly suggest considering this one.
- Most people think this camera has a lot of problems and/or difficulties but to me i think this camera is GREAT! there isn't much buttons on the back which is good, only one button to us to switch to other screenshots. Its small and compact. I love how it slides diagonally and not like those typical ones its very unique. I'd recommend this to anyone. Also the pictures comes out great the quality is good I guess you just need to know when to use flash when not to and other things when taking the picture in order for it to come out good. =)
- I normally research a lot before making a purchase decision, but this time it wasn't really the case. I wasn't very satisfied with my two-year old Olympus because of the poor quality of low light shots, so I bought this one. My boyfriend had a Fuji and it was a great camera, so I decided to give this one a shot.
Big mistake!
To make it short, here are the few nice things about it:
- face identification feature
- auction mode (nice feature, at least in theory. If you want to change the format after shooting the first picture(s) you lose the ones you've already taken.)
- the possibility to use SD and XD memory cards
Now, this is the longer list, that of the problems I've had with this camera so far (in less than three months of usage, by the way):
- low light pictures are very bad unless you use a tripod
- it takes too long for the pictures to be saved, so you cannot take one picture short after the other, which can be frustrating when shooting pictures of animals, children or sport
- there's no way to turn off the option of having the picture shown after it's taken, so no way to save time before the next shot
- manual settings are very poor
- the menu is on the display, which seems to be a good idea at first, but it is not! That makes you lose a lot of reactivity. So if you see Tom Hanks (or whoever you might like) and want to make a movie instead of a picture, he'll be gone before you can change it from photo to video mode. A wheel does the job much faster!
- there are all kinds of error messages: "writing error", "lense error", "card reading error", etc. And I get them way too often!
- the software that came along with it could not be successfully installed on my computer and the camera won't be recognized as USB drive. As a result, I need to put the card in my old camera to be able to upload the pictures to my computer.
- the lense got dirty from the inside, don't ask me how! This means that I cannot clean it and everytime I take a picture with flash, the result is an image full of stains.
I've worked with three different digital cameras before this one that didn't have most of this one's flaws.
I can only recommend you to stay away from it!!!
- I was very happy with the Fugi camera. It was exactly as I had seen in stores and as described by the online store. It came quickly and had all the necessary parts.

5 comments about Nikon Coolpix S52c 9MP Digital Camera Zoom with 3x Optical Vibration Reduction Zoom with Wi-Fi (Vibrant Black).
- I was so excited to receive my brand new CoolPix S52 (Eco-Green), and the photos were really quite excellent. I was also pleased that it was very easy to learn how to use the various camera features. HOWEVER, when I used the movie or voice recording modes there was a very high level of awful static sound recorded EVERY TIME. I upgraded to the best memory card I could find, and that did not make a bit of difference.
Naturally, I returned the camera under Warranty (with sample video/audio) to Nikon TWICE for repair or replacement. To my dismay, they returned it to me both times stating "Your unit was thoroughly checked and was found completely within the factory standards". They also said not to expect the sound quality to be excellent because it didn't have a "sophisticated microphone". Maybe so, but it shouldn't be so poor that you cringe when you listen to the playback.
I was so disappointed that I sold the camera used and replaced it with a Canon PowerShot SD850 IS (Digital Elph) Canon PowerShot SD850 IS 8.0 MP Digital Elph Camera with 4x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom that I am extremely happy with (both photos and sound are fantastic).
Bottom line - if recording movies is important to you, don't buy this camera. It will be a big disappointment and a waste of money. If you decide to buy it, be sure to test the movie and sound recording modes soon after you receive it to be sure you are satisfied.
- For some reason Nikon has removed two features from the Coolpix s52c that existed in the Coolpix s7c thereby crippling the Nikon s52c.
First, you should be aware that unlike the Coolpix s7c, the Coolpix s52c is missing the Panorama Assist feature found under the Scenes option. Why Nikon would remove this feature is a mystery to me.
The Coolpix s52c is sold and advertised as a WiFi camera. Unlike the Coolpix s7c, which can wirelessly transmit pictures directly to your own computer hard drive, the Coolpix s52c can only wirelessly transmit pictures to Nikon's MyPictureTown web service or email. Not a great option if you don't have a very fast connection to the Internet. And what happens if Nikon discontinues their MyPictureTown web service? The WiFi feature of the Coolpix s52c becomes useless.
It really is a shame that Nikon has crippled the Coolpix s52c in these two areas. I hope Nikon will restore these two features in a future firmware upgrade.
Until then - buyer beware.
- This camera has an incredible set of features for the price. It takes great pictures and is fast. The only issue I have with it is the wireless. In the advertising they make it sound like you can upload the pictures directly to your PC and that isn't true, you have to set it up to go through a web site then copy to your PC. other than that, greta camera, good price, excellent quality.
- The camera itself is great. The WIFi feature is a waste because it limits you to sending a down-sampled version of your image to a Nikon-owned web site - NOT your hard drive, which would be a much better use of the networking feature.
Hopefully they will kick-out a firmware update that un-cripples this feature. Why would I want to upload an image to someone else's web site (with limited storage).
- I have a canon sd870 and am really happy with it. Recently I ordered a coolpix s52c for my mom, since the review looks great and I want to try out a different compact DC. I have to say I am very disappointed with coolpix s52c, for the following 2 reasons:
1) the shutter speed is very slow. After shooting one photo, it takes about 3 secs for user to shoot the next one, since it takes awfully long to save a photo. My canon sd870 only needs 1 sec, by comparion. This is the main reason I don't like this camera.
2) the buttons are hard to press. A lot of times I thought I pressed on a button however camera didn't respond, so I had to press hard again and again.
I am returning this camera.

1 comments about Sony LCSCSQ/B Soft Carrying Case for Sony T, W, and N Series Digital Cameras (Textile).
- I purchased this case to protect my new Sony Cybershot W150. It's a compact designed case and the camera fits nicely inside. However, the smaller compartment does not comfortably hold accessories, namely the battery case for the camera (it fits in the compartment but appears to stretch the case slightly). On top of that, this camera case does not come with a shoulder strap or clips to attach a shoulder strap; it's meant to be placed on your belt. It's good for protecting a compact cybershot camera, but if you prefer a case with a shoulder strap you'd be better off looking at a different case.

5 comments about Samsung L210 10.1MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom (Black).
- When I first got the camera it looked nice, but i later found out that that was all. There are lines going up and down in the photos and the videos turn out pink (no joke). Samsung realy let me down this time.
- We bought this camera because we needed something small that took good photos. We already have a digital SLR but that is somewhat bulky to take to most places (my thoughts, my wife takes it anyway).
There were very few reviews on this camera when we purchased. Usually that would prohibit us from buying. However, the price is excellent for this camera and we've had several other Samsung items that we've been happy with.
The camera takes excellent pictures and with a 4GB or 8GB SD card there is room for hundreds of pictures to be taken. In addition to photos the camera also takes video. The video is not as good a quality as a dedicated video camera but gets the job done in a pinch. Both photos and video are easily downloaded to a PC by merely moving the SD card from the camera to the computer. There are several settings which can be used depending upon what picture is being taken. Some knowledge of digital photography is useful when playing with the settings. Otherwise you can stick to the "auto" setting which is what I do. The menu for various functions is easily navigable and intuitive as to what each function does.
In short, we've had the camera for about a month. At this point we're several hundred pictures into things with over an hours worth of video. We're pleased with the quality of the picture, ease of use of the camera and the size which is very small and easily put in pocket or purse.
- I purchased this camera for my wife to replace a Canon that was too big to fit her purse - the Canon was great, but a bit bulky. Here's what we think of the camera so far:
Pros:
- Outdoor daytime pictures are stunning! Colors are bright and faithful to real-life and white balance is good at factory settings.
- Large LCD screen with auto brightness in any lighting is a big plus. We never have trouble seeing the screen, even in bright light.
- For such a small, purse-sized camera, we think it is plenty sturdy - just be sure to use the wrist strap, because it is easier to drop by nature of it's size - that's just basic physics!
Cons:
- Flash photography is just average - and the camera is pretty slow in very low light, even with flash.
- Battery life is just average. You should get an extra battery - if you do, I would get a name brand, as generics don't hold charge and won't last as long as your original.
Overall, for our use, we love this camera! We just wish it was a bit faster in low light and had a longer-lasting battery. Still, we highly recommend!
- I buy this camera 1 month ago, and I have to say is really amazing. The quality of the photos are really good, it has a lot of options (more than enough for any kind of situations) and the only thing you should know is that you must buy a memory card, because the internal memory is really low.
- I have had this camera for about a month now. I have a digital SLR which I love, but it can be a hassel to carry around everywhere with 2 children. I purchased the Samsung to be a carry around, catch the unexpected moments camera. It has worked great for this.
It has some issues, but I am not sure if it is the camera or the flash card I purchased to use with it. There is a definite lag between shutter depression and picture taking. Some other reviewers have complained about lines on the pictures.
I have taken pictures both inside and out, in partial shade and partial sun. I only noticed the lines on the camera screen when the battery started to run low, but when I downloaded the pictures to my computer the lines were not there.
I have to agree with other reviewers, the written manual is useless, but the manual on the disc provided is much more helpful. It has some point and shoot options, but some of the more advanced features are not the easiest to use. The child picture feature takes the manual and practice to find.
The image stabilization is a definite plus. I am able to take pictures one handed with this and not have the normal blur. I've had some problems with focus which is probably operator error. Overall, I would recommend this camera as the pros outway the cons.

- This is a great little camera. Great photos and my wife carries it in her purse every day. No missed photo ops!
- easy to use with a variety of setting to best capture a sunset or other scenes.
cute unit.
would have preferred more optical zoom but could not find in a camera at this price range.
thanks nikon
- This is the second Coolpix I have gotten. It is by far, the easiest point and shoot camera I have gotten. And with the 8.0MP, it takes really good quality pics.
- I hate taking pictures and I always have to learn any new electronic device that we buy. This camera was for my wife and she easily understood everything she needed to take some great pictures. It really is a great little camera.
- 3 weeks old and the lens jammed. "customer support claimed misuse. I have contacted support several times but no replies

- This camera was delivered as promised. It is my second as I dropped the otherone with the lens open and I am trying to get it repaired. I use it so often I ordered another one. The price is right for the item and I use it often. The photos are very clear and it is an easy to use camera. I love it. It is a bit larger than some digitals but not a problem for me.Kodak EasyShare V1003 10MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom (Slate Gray)
- Buenas noches yo quisiera saber donde esta mi camara fotografica ya que la compre el 8 de agosto y el 18 del mismo mes fue entregada en una residencia y desde entonces no se nada de la camara fotografica
- I received this camera as a gift and had to send it in three times to be fixed. (Yes, I am EXTREMELY careful with my cameras) First, the lens would not go back inside. Second, because it would not charge. Third, for the lens again. I used it once after it got sent back and it broke again. A waste of time.
- I purchased this camera for my son, for his girlfriend for christmas. I have already purchased this same exact camera in the past and the receiver of it loves it. It takes great pictures.
- The Camera came quickly and very well wrapped in it's original seal. Just FYI- if you get it threw UPS, the box was thrown to my door from my gate 3 feet away! Other than that, the camera is Fabulous!

5 comments about Canon Rebel XS 10.1MP Digital SLR Camera with EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens (Black).
- We are now seeing a real first...the first Digital EOS that hasn't got people flocking to the stores. Why? Price, and a lack of anything "innovative". However, on the good front, speaking with a Canon Sales Rep, he has told me to expect the gap between the XSi and XS to quickly go to $200, which is a more realistic valuation, and would probably warranty another star, as the XS is really a very nice camera.
You've probably seen many lists comparing the XS to the XSi, and noticed the shortcomings, which are too numerous for $100. However, compared to some of the competition, it's not all bad. Take as an example the Nikon D60. Both are 10mp, but the Canon is a CMOS sensor, that should produce a tad better photos in poor lighting conditions. You also get a 7-point AF system vs. 3-point.
Compared to the Sony Alpha 300, it's hard pay $100 premium, considering the Alpha has in camera stabalization, supports wireless flashes (with built-in flash) and has a 2.7" tiltable live-view. But the Canon kit lens is better optically, and the build quality appears to be slightly better on the XS. When the price drops, they'll be equally good values.
But as most people have said, the XSi is a 5-star camera worth $200 extra; therefore, the price of the XS needs to reflect that reality.
- I have owned this camera since 2004, so I find the earlier review, written in 2008, which suggests this camera isn't sending folks flocking to the stores, a little strange. The flocks are probably looking for newer models. Anyway, after four years, I needed a new battery, and found myself checking out the newest options for a moment, and thought I'd review my reliable old friend.
This camera is fast, quiet, and the photos are outstanding. I primarily use the automatic functions, and it is a breeze to get amazing photos. I am an avid amateur photographer with more of an interest in the composition of the picture than in exposure settings and such, and I have found this camera to be wonderful in every way. After four years, the two batteries I have had since the beginning are finally failing, and I have had a few minor problems during battery malfunctions. Other than that, the camera is durable, has traveled the world, taken thousands upon thousands of photos, around the world, and of my precious children at home. A favorite subject of mine is flowers, and this camera does an amazing job on those as well. I couldn't be happier with this camera, and can only hope it will give me another four years, or more!
- I am definitely a novice who just got tired of using compact pocket type digital cameras and getting bad pictures (usually due to the shutter delay).
I know nothing really about photography but I like the size and weight of this camera. Some reviews suggest it is too expensive for its features but for me the size, weight and supports SD memory were very important. Quality of the images are amazing (well I think they are!) but I may need to tweak it a bit as the images are huge (3MB+).
I am sure as I get better with photography I may start to notice deficiencies but in the meanwhile I am happy with my purchase.
- I am most happy with the camera . . can hardly wait to get the 70-200mm IS telephoto lense (when I can afford it). The versatility, fairly easy to follow instructions, and quality of image are all welcomed.
- I have had this camera for a couple months and I can finally say that I am getting the hang of it. I am not overly excited about it and still find myself grabbing my little aim an shoot for snap shots around the house. I know light weight is what people look for but to me this camera feels very cheap. Picture quality is good and as I continue to work with it I feel that it will grow on me.
