5 comments about Sony Alpha A200W 10.2MP Digital SLR Camera Kit with Super SteadyShot Image Stabilization with 18-70mm f/3.5-5.6 and 75-300mm f/4.5-5.6 Lenses.
  1. This camera is one of the best I have had ever!!! I bought it just before having my baby girl and she looks BEAUTIFUL in every single picture!!! well, she IS the most beautiful thing.
The only bad thing is that is not coming with any storage card... It should have at least one very small.

  2. I love this camera. Taking pictures of this quality, with this speed is a blast. You can be an amateur and turn out professional photos. It allows me to photograph my children in all sports in action.

  3. I ordered this camera off amazon so i could get 1500 reward points on my amazon card; otherwise it is pretty much the same price everywhere.

This is my first SLR type camera and i am very pleased with it. keep in mind that although i did a ton of research, i am writing this review with nothing to compare this camera to because i have never actually used another brand.

I wanted an SLR camera for the shutter speed, quality of the pictures and zoom capabilities. so far i have been pleased with all of these options. there are still many things i need to learn about the camera to really be able to use it to its full potential but i was able to take it out of the box and start taking nice pictures with the automatic settings.

for the money, the sony seems to be the best entry level camera. it is cheap enough to feel like you can upgrade if you decided photography is your thing, and good enough to keep if you are just an amateur like myself.

  4. After being a Minolta film photographer for 30 years, I finally went digital.(OK....Some of us men are set in our ways!!) After reading the owner's manual, one of the first of several things that I liked about this camera, was the fact that I can adjust the diopter. Being a near-sighted photographer, this meant that I can shoot pictures, without my glasses. What sold me on the Sony DSLR, was the fact that when Sony bought Minolta, they wanted to make the Minolta photographer happy, by making the Sony body fit the Minolta AF lens system. Also depending on which Minolta AF flash unit that you have, it will work with the A200.
In shooting weddings, with the 2GB compact flash card that I have, it will feel kind of nice not worrying about how long, before I have to change the film. As for the results.....I'M IMPRESSED!! For you Minolta fim SLR photographers, who want to go fully digital, this is the camera for you.

  5. I am a beginning DSLR user and bought this camera at the beginning of September, 2008. Since then, I have literally taken thousands of photos. Some are great, most are not, but I'm learning as I go. Before this, I used an older point and shoot. While I have no basis for comparison, I believe this to be a very fine camera. It's user-friendly, takes great photos, has a very fast start up, and is relatively easy to find accessories for. I would recommend this camera to any DSLR user of any experience.

  1. the camera is excellent, takes great pictures and is easy to operate. we liked it so much and our grand daughter liked it we bought her one.

  2. i love it i shake alot and i tryed my brothers and i took great pic's i was impressed. i had to have one. i do scrappbooking and need to take good pic of my family. i have two other camera and this is the best when u have shakie hands.

  3. This camera is awesome. It is handy being so small yet takes great photos. The zoom is an excellent feature.

  4. I bought the Pentax Optio M50 as a gift. I chose this model for the following reasons:

    * It is small and compact enough to always have with you
    * It is very stylish (especially for a young girl). We got it in Pink to go with her pink iPod.
    * I wanted a camera with a minimum of 8MP which is plenty for home use (I have advanced digital SLRs with 8MP and they take pro-quality images)
    * The zoom ratio (5x) was much better than those found on other cameras in it's class (usually 3x)
    * I like the feature that automatically detects and exposes for faces (although the "Auto-Smile" feature seems to be a hit-or-miss feature so I don't suggest using it)
    * It is a good value for the price

A couple of things to be aware of though:

    * There is no optical viewer, you must use the rear screen to compose the image
    * The "shake reduction" feature is not true electronic image stabilization, which you can find or higher-end cameras. Instead it raises the sensitivity of the light sensing chip in low light which allows the use of a higher shutter speed at the same time giving you less detail in the resulting photo. Nice feature, but not as nice as IS which reduces or compensates for actual camera shake electronically.

Over all this is a great buy. Just a few years ago a camera like this would have cost at least twice as much. Considering it's features this is a very good value and Pentax is a name that you can trust.

  5. It's small and very light so you can take it anywhere. Icons that are fun and easy to use. Takes great pictures. I love the soft flash mode, the warm skin tone mode and the rechargeable battery. The only thing is that I got it in pink, great color, but my little granddaughter thinks it's her toy!

5 comments about Nikon Coolpix S52 9MP Digital Camera Zoom with 3x Optical Vibration Reduction Zoom (Midnight Black).
  1. This camera is more than what the average person could ever want in a camera, the 9MP is enough to sell it but the zoom qualities, and picture qualities!...I would recomend this to anyone who is on a tighter buget than most, from what I have discoverd this camera will Prevail!

  2. I needed a VIP gift for a person so important that other people carry their camera and shoot their pictures for them. And so I began testing little cameras.
I ended up keeping this one for myself.
Why? Well, after shooting 1500 pictures with this camera, I can tell you.
First, small and sleek, beautifully designed, the optics are internal with no lens to protrude. It carries in a pocket like a hundred dollar bill.
Second, a 3 inch LCD that makes it so easy to check focus, or review pictures. A huge and useful viewing screen. There is no optical viewfinder or any need for one.
Image quality is very good, and Nikon handles noise and high ISO speeds so very well.
The shake reduction really works: and I can shoot from a fast moving car at high ISO speeds with no noticeable blur. The higher speed is predictably grainy, but the grain is pleasingly mild.
Battery life is good, 150 shots or so. When I feel serious, I carry a second charged battery.
If you like, turn off the flash and turn off the the synthetic camera sounds from "settings", and you have a very discreet camera that would please James Bond.
The auto focus works well, even without the focus assist lamp.
At first I had a few shots where the focus would not lock.
Then I found that the secret to focusing seems to be holding the camera still. After I discovered that, I had no more focus problems.
I also found that the macro mode continuously focuses. It draws a little more from the battery, but can be useful for faster shooting.
The color saturation is very good, even the auto white balance works, and the image you see is what you capture.
Nikon means good images. I am Happy. Well, almost...
    ....
The time to focus an image can run to 2 seconds or so.
The time to write an image to the SD card can be 3 seconds or more, even with high speed cards. In fact, there does not seem to be any difference in write speed between high speed and regular cards.
Expect to have to concentrate while shooting, which may not be a bad thing after all. Not quite "point and shoot", but "hold down the shutter release half way to focus, then frame and shoot".
It suits me, but I am from the old school of the manual camera.
Another annoyance is that the lens stays open while reviewing pictures, and can easily get smudged by a wandering fingertip.
The power switch is not well defined by touch, and is easily turned on accidentally. I learned to set the display timeout to go to standby mode in 30 seconds to save battery life in case of accidental turn on.
So, if you are patient and can live with a few annoyances, you will have a sleek little camera that goes anywhere and gets the most use.
I really like it after all.

  3. I am a novice photographer, who was looking for a good quality point-and-shoot to (hopefully) improve my ability to take good pictures. Specific features that interested me in this camera: the picture stabilization that compensates for hand-shaking; the compact size; usability of the interface and (I admit it) the 'cool' factor of this Nikon.

Some small gripes: The nonwireless version of the camera - the S52 - comes with a battery charger and charger cord. You cannot recharge the batteries through the USB connector to the camera; the only way to recharge is to have the battery charger at hand. Thus, you either have to lug around the charger and cord with you, or have a second charged battery for long outings. This isn't really made clear in any of the product literature online - I did not understand this aspect until I read the user manual.

Another small gripe: The S52 Nikon camera here on Amazon.com here is at a great price (about $50 less than the price Nikon quotes on its website). I expected there to be at least a cheapo carrying case - for example, a felt bag - for the camera, but Nikon does not include any kind of case in the package. The camera is indeed small enough to slip in a pocket or purse, but it seems like a slipcase of some kind would have been a nice addition to the kit. Especially since there are a number of accessories you might need to take with you.

The camera itself is quite elegant, and packed with nice features. I love the camera but I am irritated about the cumbersome two-piece charger.

  4. I was so excited to receive my brand new CoolPix S52 (Eco-Green), and the photos were really quite excellent. I was also pleased that it was very easy to learn how to use the various camera features. HOWEVER, when I used the movie or voice recording modes there was a very high level of awful static sound recorded EVERY TIME. I upgraded to the best memory card I could find, and that did not make a bit of difference.

Naturally, I returned the camera under Warranty (with sample video/audio) to Nikon TWICE for repair or replacement. To my dismay, they returned it to me both times stating "Your unit was thoroughly checked and was found completely within the factory standards". They also said not to expect the sound quality to be excellent because it didn't have a "sophisticated microphone". Maybe so, but it shouldn't be so poor that you cringe when you listen to the playback.

I was so disappointed that I sold the camera used and replaced it with a Canon PowerShot SD850 IS (Digital Elph) Canon PowerShot SD850 IS 8.0 MP Digital Elph Camera with 4x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom that I am extremely happy with (both photos and sound are fantastic).

Bottom line - if recording movies is important to you, don't buy this camera. It will be a big disappointment and a waste of money. If you decide to buy it, be sure to test the movie and sound recording modes soon after you receive it to be sure you are satisfied.

  5. I purchased this camera about 5 weeks ago, just before leaving on a 3 week overseas trip, so had little time to familiarize myself with the majority of the numerous features. But the camera is easy to use, at least as far as the basic "point and shoot" practice goes. I'm very pleased with the large display, although it sometimes still is hard to see the shot when in a bright outdoor setting. But I typically could make out some basic outlines, as opposed to my previous p & s pocket size Minolta camera (S2), where the display was useless in any lighting conditions brighter than daytime outdoor with a full cloud cover. That, as well as the fact that the battery charge on the Minolta seemed to last for fewer and fewer shots, even on replacement batteries.
A viewfinder (on the Nikon) would be nice in those very bright outdoor situations, but I guess that that is the trade-off for getting a screen that is almost the size of the camera (I'm not kidding: it's 2 3/8 inches wide on the camera which is 3 3/8 wide overall). I'm very pleased with the quality of the shots (I took about 200), some of which were shot from a moving train, and still seem sharp.
My main reason for writing this review is to make others aware of two things: 1. The camera comes with its own battery charger. The reason I bring this up is that no-where in the written specs on Amazon did it say anything on this topic. Furthermore, somewhere on the Amazon website it also drew attention to "Customers who purchased this (camera), also purchased the following:" one of which was a battery charger. I went to the Nikon website, and got the impression that a charger was included, which is what I would have expected. Since I could not afford the time it would take to order a battery charger once I received the camera and found no charger, I phoned Amazon customer service to ask the question. That person came back on line after researching this for several minutes, and told me that the camera did NOT come with a charger. So I of course ordered the charger (from a different supplier than the camera, all thru Amazon). Both Amazon and this second supplier were very accomodating in giving me a refund, as well as (Amazon) refunding my s & h charge, but it still cost me some $7 for return shipping.
The second issue is the tight fit of this camera in the Nikon Coolpix leather case (also offered by Amazon, from yet a third supplier). It is very easy to inadvertently turn the camera on when pushing the camera into the case, and evidently the camera stays "on" until the battery is totally discharged. Nikon had no suggestions / never heard of this problem. I managed to pound out the top of both sides of the case enough to not have that happen again.

5 comments about Panasonic DMW-CZS7 Soft Camera Case for Panasonic FZ7, FZ18 & FZ28 Digital Cameras.
  1. Good quality, camera fits inside fine. The case would be better if it came with a strap. It does have a belt loop, but I prefer a strap.

  2. This case is basically a camera cover. It uses the camera's strap and it has no pockets or space for anything besides the camera. I use a slightly larger case that can hold an extra battery and a few other things instead of this.

  3. This isn't a bad case for the Panasonic FZ7, but as other reviewers said, it could be better. I don't mind so much that it doesn't have it's own strap, but I do wish there were some small pockets on the outside (if only to put things like memory card cases or something). I wasn't looking for a huge camera case that could hold lots of extras, just something light to protect my camera from getting wet/damaged so this works just fine.

  4. I purchased this case for FZ18 with the length of the lense although this case is marked for this camera the Camera just barely fits. I would have preferred one a little larger.

  5. fits camera nicely, has seperate battery & spare SD card holder. Includes belt strap.

    doesnt't carry charger etc

5 comments about Nikon D60 10.2MP Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G AF-S DX VR and 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED IF AF-S DX VR Zoom-Nikkor Lens with 2 Nikon School DVDs.
  1. Nikon D60 10.2MP Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G AF-S DX VR Nikkor Zoom Lens

My main camera is a Nikon D2Xs, and I keep a Nikon D70s as a backup. I also use a Mamiya 645 Pro TL and Zenza Bronica ETRS II medium format cameras for special situations. In the past, I've used a Canon EOS 850 and many other cameras. Nikon is my professional choice!

I bought my son-in-law a Nikon D60 since he's interested in photography. I put it through its paces, and confirmed this is an excellent camera that can handle even the most demanding jobs. The high ISO with low (no) noise is very nice, allowing some great hand held shots with either deep depth of field or relatively high shutter speed. I like so many of the features of this camera, I may carry one when not lugging my huge D2Xs for assignments. This camera is small and light, but packs a lot of professional level features. Highly recommended.

  2. I had high expectations but the camera is just a so so upgrade without many significant improvements. I had hoped for more. It is easy to use and very dependable bu if you are looking for advance features this camera does not deliver.

  3. Actually I won't be talking again about the specification because all of you already know it. The D60 is my first DSLR camera I'm actually wasn't into photography that much, I just bought it because i asked a friend i want to take a quality pictures for my family because i had a regular annoying Casio camera which makes dots/noise in the pictures and ruins the moment of the photo, Any way he told me do you want the same photography as you see in the magazines or billboards i said yes i actually thought that all those pictures was like impossible and you need like i dunno graphic designer to do the work for you to make it so clean and sharp as they look and MAN I WAS WRONG..

1st day i bought this camera i took my 1st shot and i was like WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW i never had a DSLR camera before i hate taking pictures but with this camera the first week i took over 13,000 pictures can you believe that awesome camera awesome quality and the help menu tought me a lot about photography i didn't even know anything about photography like what is ISO, Exposure etc.. it kept explaining everything in the menu and I'm here now buying the new D90 waiting for this babe to arrive.

Nikon makes the photography impossible to resist everyone this camera is worth every penny now i watch videos on You Tube and trying to learn and I'm buying bunch of lenses which costs me over $5000, it's hilarious actually, but i loved photography i keep taking shots for everything and i have like 700 GB hard disk full of pictures shot with my D60.

Please If you can afford it buy any lens than the one included the recommended is the 18-200 Nikon lens much better and have a very deep zoom and buy the 50 mm Nikon lens it's awesome for portraits shots and very very sharp. I can't believe my self talking about lenses and cameras but it's worth it i loved and you'll love it.. Good Luck with your D60 ;)

P.S. I uploaded some images i shot with my D60 you'll find it in the customer images section but beware that pictures quality are much better than what you see here in amazon because amazon crops and compress the picture very bad which ruin everything in the picture.

    Bye...

  4. I found the Nikon D60 to be an excellent camera and easy to use. I am only a pedestrian photographer but this camera is cool and has the Nikon click when you press the shutter release which is satisfying.

  5. I received the camera Nikon D60 a day before my Bright angel hike to the Grand canyon. I have previously own a SLR however this is my first Digital SLR. Though I was still experimenting during my tedious hike, i was able to take beautiful pictures. I love the quality of the pictures, the features of the camera enable me to retouch my photo, especially while I am experimenting my camera.

There is only one thing that I wasn't satisfied with the sale deal. The battery charger came in the voltage of 110V, that means that I may not be able to use when I am travelling to some places in Asia. I thought that all cameras charger should come with dual voltages. That means the camera can be use world wide I was not able to source the dual voltage charger here, can anyone help me with that.

    Rookies in D60

  1. The GE A730 is an excellent camera for $79.99 + S&H. I needed a smaller point and shoot because I didn't want to take my Digital SLR to the beach. This a great buy for beginners or for someone who wants a smaller camera. It is easy to uses and has video mode also. It only requires 2 AA batteries which you can find anywhere. Day time and Night time shots were awesome.

  2. This camera works as intended, the battery life is not great when taking videos, and the standard memory is a bit low, but the expandability (up to 4gb) makes up for it, thus the 4 of 5 stars on this review.

  3. GREAT CAMERA GE A730 7MP DIGITAL USE IT EVERYDAY ALSO PURCHASED SANS DISK AND BATTERY CHARGER VERY GOOD QUALITY PICTURES

  4. My 15yr old loves this camera, it fits in his pockets and the screen is larger than we thought it would be.

  5. I saw the camera, loved it, bought it, now I can't use it because NO battery lasts more than 3 minutes. I have bought 3 sets of rechargeable batteries and charger and it is now obvious that I am wasting money. The issue is NOT the batteries, but the camera.

5 comments about Kodak EasyShare M1033 10MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom (Black).
  1. Here's my backstory: I bought a rather expensive Sony camcorder with photo capabilities thinking "this will help me chronicle my adventures while I'm in Europe." This turned out to be one of the biggest mistakes I have ever made! Despite being such an expensive camcorder, the Hard Drive Disk Sony model took grainy footage and to put a sour cherry on top, the photos were terrible! I returned the piece of crap. Since the $443 camcorder had such crap quality, I thought about going all in. Let's get an HD camcorder, but we all know that requires a lot of money. Fortunately I found a much better alternative. Kodak M1033! I have reviewed footage from this Kodak camera and I it is 10x better than the Sony camcorder that I had. It features 720HD video capabilities and I must say this is an amazing deal. It totally beats an upscale Sony camcorder AND it takes great pictures. Definitely worth it if you're into making decent home movies. If you just want a solid digital camera, you can score with a canon powershot which sells at a price a little cheaper than this. HD video in your pocket can't be beat!

  2. This was such a beautiful, clean design, that it immediately caught my eye among the other cameras. I'm tired of gadgets that try to look powerful by being hard to use. I want a camera that is--dare I say it--like my iPod.

Good: Ease of use, picture quality, video quality.
Bad: Battery life, occasional freezing (?!)

This camera really is easy to use, but it doesn't sacrifice features or power to do it (sure, it's no SLR). It's a great pocket camera.

I'm pleased with the picture quality. The automatic mode displays the icon of the most appropriate "specialty mode" as it takes the picture, perhaps educating you for future shots. Colors look good. Flash is good for a camera this size.

I'm pleased with the video quality. I saw the review where someone was complaining about video quality--I'd have to guess that he's shooting in low light. What can you expect with a lens the size of a dime? I'm using it as a stand-in to replace my failing Mini-DV camcorder. DV is better, sure, but even as picky as I am, I'm willing to use this for video in the meantime. It does stabilization in 480p (not in 720p). It also has standard and high quality video modes (not sure what other reviewers used). I recommend high quality 480p with stabilization.

The battery doesn't seem to last long. I rotate through my batteries pretty frequently (once a week with "moderate" use--what's moderate?). I couldn't make an entire day at a theme park visit on one battery. Have extras.

Mine has frozen up a couple of times. Talk about weird. I just popped out the battery and put it back. Nothing was lost. All was fine. Just weird.

I'm willing to change/charge the batteries more frequently for a CLEAN DESIGN and GREAT PICTURES. I wish more cameras were like this, but the M1033 seems to be a fluke -- even among Kodak products. I would buy this camera again. BTW, I bought the bronze one -- awesome color.

  3. Very practical camera with it's small compact design that takes big pictures. Big viewing area. So far seems to work perfect. I love it. I had an older Easyshare, much more bulky and slower taking pictures and the viewing area was too small to really make out if picture was any good. Would definitely recommend this one.

  4. This is a really neat little camera, small and light with more than adequate features for someone who wants to do a bit more than point and shoot. It takes some time to learn, and can be a bit confusing. The booklet that comes with the camera is ok for the basics, but I recommend downloading the full manual from Kodak to fully utilize the camera's features. On the down side is the very short battery life, so I would recommend carrying a spare.

  5. I picked the M1033 up at a local Best Buy, intending to replace my decrepit 3.3Megapixel Olympus. I wanted a small form-factor camera with high resolution, and passable video I could use so my wife wouldn't have to lug around our video camera for occasional use.

At first, I was excited, but the glamor wore off quickly. I would not recommend the device without SIGNIFICANT CAVEATS. Read on...

    * Form factor: the camera is friggin tiny. That's excellent -- what I was looking for.

    * Still image quality: once you turn OFF the digital zoom, the image quality is as good as one would expect from a ten megapixel camera. However, if you zoom all the way in on the image (on your computer), you'll see compression artifacts because it exports JPEG files, rather than PNG or TIFF. This dims my otherwise stellar recommendation.

    * Video quality is HORRIBLE, especially in low light. I was SHOCKED at how awful the video is. Why would I take 720p high-definition video if the image quality is noisy and grainy? IF VIDEO IS EVEN REMOTELY A PURCHASING CONCERN FOR YOU, YOU WILL NOT BE SATISFIED WITH THIS PRODUCT.

    * Video format is Quicktime MOV. If you have a Mac, this is no big deal. For the rest of us, this is a pain. EDITING QUICKTIME MOVIES REQUIRES PURCHASING ADDITIONAL SOFTWARE.

    * The unit's basic layout could stand significant improvement. For example, the position of the lens makes it a natural place to hold the camera, which is okay when it's turned off. However, once you hit the power button, it's very easy to brush the lens with your fingertips.

Further, the EasyShare connector (NOTE: proprietary USB plug) is located very close to the tripod shoe connector. This means that you have to choose between installing a quick-release shoe for your tripod and plugging it into USB. I can understand this (somewhat), as the camera just isn't very big and you have to put these things somewhere.

Still, together, this is very disappointing. I'm imagining that I'd have to clean the lens A LOT due to fingerprints.

    * the buttons on the top row are easy to hit at the same time. This resets the camera to factory configuration. I discovered this six seconds after handing it to my wife. Fortunately, it's easy to reconfigure, but I don't intend to reset the clock on the thing every few weeks.

    * volume control for the unit appears to be universal -- the sounds the camera makes are controlled by the same logic that limits sound of video playback. This control is buried in the setup system. So, when I turn the camera's insipid sound effects down to the minimum, I can't easily hear the video soundtrack even on maximum playback volume. Poor design choice.

    * joystick-stud is difficult to use for some people. Like my wife, or me when I get excited. Pushing the button in (ENTER) often causes the stick to go in one direction or another. Imagine doing this on a very cold day.

    * Digital zoom RUINS the image quality. Make SURE to turn it off or you'll be wondering why you bought a 10MP camera.

SUMMARY: This camera is for you if you can meet ALL of the following criteria:
    1. you want very high-resolution images and small form-factor
    2. you can tolerate extremely poor quality video (or don't need video at all)
    3. you have a way to edit (or don't need to edit) the quicktime movies the camera produces in such low quality.
    4. you seldom or never use a tripod
    5. you have tiny, agile fingers and never take pictures in cold weather
    6. you can remember to immediately turn off the digital zoom

    ...otherwise, seek a different product.

  1. We are planning a snorkling trip, I bought this camera to take pictures underwater. I tried it out in my pool, works great!! Great pictures!

  2. The camera was defective - the lense got stuck in the extended position after I made about 20 shots. It was easy to use, and the screen looked fine - bright, big, well organized menues. The 20 photos I took were no match to my older Canon S50 5MP camera - some of noise in even ideal light conditions, very noisy in less light or with flash. Blurry on the move. I didn't have a chance to take it underwater - although the case looks well made and easy to operate.

Overall, if you are expecting at least average quality - you may look elsewhere. Good that Amazon was quick reimbursing the money.

  3. Excellent entry level camera and housing for scuba diving.
As part of the planning for a trip to Hawaii where I would get
re-certified as a scuba diver, I looked for underwater cameras.
I choose this digital camera and housing because 1) price - I needed
a camera for this trip and don't know how much diving I will do in
the future, 2) camera and housing are separate so camera can be
used without the housing, 3) features - the camera has many
basic features found in entry level digital cameras. I used the
camera on two dives. We got down to a max depth of 57 ft. The camera
and housing worked well. I got several pictures of turtles. Since I
was new to underwater photography I didn't realize that I should keep
the camera and housing cool between dives, so the camera was fogged up
on the 2nd dive. I took some pictures anyway and they all came out ok.
After the diving was done, I used the camera without
the housing for the rest of trip. I highly recommend this camera and
housing as an inexpensive underwater camrea.

  4. I bought this camera specifically for my recent trip to Riviera Maya. I wanted a small camera that was not as expensive as my normal camera so I wouldn't be as upset if something happened to it. I ended up stumbling upon this underwater camera and thought I may as well try it out. It ended up being a great find!

The camera worked fine. It takes good pictures on land and in the water. The only problems I had with it at all were:
    1. The shutter speed is slow so you have to get used to taking pictures in front of moving objects (i.e. fish)
    2. The casing often got fogged up underwater so it was hard to see the screen to aim
    3. The resolution on the screen is not the best so I couldn't really tell if my pictures were good until I put them on my computer

However, the camera only cost me $120 which is not bad at all for the quality. I got some amazing pictures while snorkeling, and it was just the right size to carry around during our travels. I was very pleased overall with this product!

  5. This is my first underwater camera and for the money is does a good job. A couple of notes, when shooting underwater you need to set it up in Program mode, for cloudy day and always use the flash. The housing blocks part of the built in flash so you need to make or buy a diffuser. I made one with a translucent plastic top off a can of nuts. Attach it at the end of the lens opening on the underwater housing, I attached it with tie wraps. You really have to be close to your subject (less than 3 feet) for the flash to light up the subject and deliver true colors.

If you plan to get serious about underwater photography this is not the camera for you. I will use it on casual dives when I just want a shot. It is compact so you can kind of clip it on and forget it.

A couple of downsides, it goes through the batteries in about 75 shots so a couple of dives and you need new ones or rechargeable ones. The auto focus is slow so when you press the button it take a couple of seconds or 3 to auto focus, sometimes by then the fish is gone.

Here is a link to some of my photos I took with the camera in Bonaire.
