- I loved this camera! Big screen in back, worked wonderfully....pics were clear....after 6 months, it quit working, for no reason.
I guess buying 2 a year isnt that bad. This was around $100, so if yu dont mind that, i suggest buying it.
- Its a nice camera. Small and can fit in my pocket. Takes good video and good Pic
( good pics of you have the settings right, other wise kinda blurry )
But the Video always comes out good and gets good sound, But the speakers are under the cam, So you have to watch were you hold it. OR you well cover the speakers and wont get any sound.
The Flash is really good on here too. Iv taken pics in the dark and it makes it look like im in the day light.
one thing i dont like is..
I used to have this one camera and when ever i took a pic it saved the number of the pic, NOT the number of the time i took a pic. just the number on how many pics the camera as taken ever. So if i took 00001-00020 and then took the pics off of the card and into my comp and then took pics the next day it would start the save at 00021.
BUT
This cam dose not save it like that. It saves the number by at the time you took it, So now when i take the pics off my card. i have to number them myself b4 saving them into a folder
And of mine breaks like the other person he wrote a review. This ok i guess. For the price i cal order another one. As long as its at lest 6 months away, but if it breaks a 2nd time im looking for a new cam ;)

5 comments about Nikon Coolpix S52 9MP Digital Camera Zoom with 3x Optical Vibration Reduction Zoom (Red).
- From someone without any camera savvy, I think this camera is pretty good. Before I bought it I looked a lot online at reviews ands specs and so on. I found it hard to decide which things made one camera better than another. So, this one went on sale, it looked like it waas a good camera, and I trust Nikon, so I bought it. I've used it easily and successfully. It would be nice to have greater zoom ability, but it is acceptable. My only complaint is that there is a long lag time between when you press the shutter and when the camera actually takes the picture. Takig pics. of my kids was difficult because of this. However, as I got used to it, I learned to cue them at the right time.
- I ordered the camera, it arrived in very good time. I opened the box, followed directions, charged the battery, inserted it...took 2 pictures with it. Turned it off, and tried turning it back on again, and got an ERROR that the lens cover would not open. After spending 20 minutes on technical support hotline...they gave me troubleshooting tasks to complete. I did them to the letter. It still didn't work! Another 20 minutes on the phone, only to discover I have to send it in to the Nikon Service Center for repair. I am NOT Happy!
- I have used more than dozen digital cameras in the last several years and this is the worst one in terms of dying in less then 6 weeks with "lens cover error" when it worked for the first two days it worked like a charm, very nice and big LCD display, it's a nice point and shoot camera, but I never expected this one to die on the 3rd day of use. I am a big fan of Nikon (I have Nikon D60) this one really disappointed me very much.
- I love this camera; it is my second one. i wish it would refresh a little more quickly, but i'm happy with the features and it is easy to use
- I love my AA battery operated Nikons so I thought it would be great to get one with a rechargable battery. After much searching, I purchased this camera. It was a bit different from my previous Nikons but the pictures were clear and the camera was pretty eary to use. A week later my LCD screen was shattered. I dropped it in my bag after taking a picture and thought notheing of it. When I went to take another picture I was stunned and upset that I could not see what I was taking a picture of. To add insult to injury, I cannot find the receipt - I hope the credit card bill will suffice. I know it is my fault for just dropping it in my bag but it's a point and shoot camera for goodness sake!

5 comments about Sony Alpha A200W 10.2MP Digital SLR Camera Kit with Super SteadyShot Image Stabilization with 18-70mm f/3.5-5.6 and 75-300mm f/4.5-5.6 Lenses.
- This camera far exceeds my expectations. The in-body IS (image stabilization) works like a charm, and i love the fact that i will not have to spend an arm and a leg for a lens kit. My next camera will definitely have this feature. The two lenses that came with this package are great starter lenses, 1 wide angle and 1 telephoto....what more do you need as an amateur photographer? The build quality is pretty good and i do not think it is heavy at all like i heard before purchasing. Thank you Sony!
- This camera is one of the best I have had ever!!! I bought it just before having my baby girl and she looks BEAUTIFUL in every single picture!!! well, she IS the most beautiful thing.
The only bad thing is that is not coming with any storage card... It should have at least one very small.
- I love this camera. Taking pictures of this quality, with this speed is a blast. You can be an amateur and turn out professional photos. It allows me to photograph my children in all sports in action.
- I ordered this camera off amazon so i could get 1500 reward points on my amazon card; otherwise it is pretty much the same price everywhere.
This is my first SLR type camera and i am very pleased with it. keep in mind that although i did a ton of research, i am writing this review with nothing to compare this camera to because i have never actually used another brand.
I wanted an SLR camera for the shutter speed, quality of the pictures and zoom capabilities. so far i have been pleased with all of these options. there are still many things i need to learn about the camera to really be able to use it to its full potential but i was able to take it out of the box and start taking nice pictures with the automatic settings.
for the money, the sony seems to be the best entry level camera. it is cheap enough to feel like you can upgrade if you decided photography is your thing, and good enough to keep if you are just an amateur like myself.
- After being a Minolta film photographer for 30 years, I finally went digital.(OK....Some of us men are set in our ways!!) After reading the owner's manual, one of the first of several things that I liked about this camera, was the fact that I can adjust the diopter. Being a near-sighted photographer, this meant that I can shoot pictures, without my glasses. What sold me on the Sony DSLR, was the fact that when Sony bought Minolta, they wanted to make the Minolta photographer happy, by making the Sony body fit the Minolta AF lens system. Also depending on which Minolta AF flash unit that you have, it will work with the A200.
In shooting weddings, with the 2GB compact flash card that I have, it will feel kind of nice not worrying about how long, before I have to change the film. As for the results.....I'M IMPRESSED!! For you Minolta fim SLR photographers, who want to go fully digital, this is the camera for you.

5 comments about Nikon Coolpix S52 9MP Digital Camera Zoom with 3x Optical Vibration Reduction Zoom (Midnight Black).
- This camera is more than what the average person could ever want in a camera, the 9MP is enough to sell it but the zoom qualities, and picture qualities!...I would recomend this to anyone who is on a tighter buget than most, from what I have discoverd this camera will Prevail!
- I needed a VIP gift for a person so important that other people carry their camera and shoot their pictures for them. And so I began testing little cameras.
I ended up keeping this one for myself.
Why? Well, after shooting 1500 pictures with this camera, I can tell you.
First, small and sleek, beautifully designed, the optics are internal with no lens to protrude. It carries in a pocket like a hundred dollar bill.
Second, a 3 inch LCD that makes it so easy to check focus, or review pictures. A huge and useful viewing screen. There is no optical viewfinder or any need for one.
Image quality is very good, and Nikon handles noise and high ISO speeds so very well.
The shake reduction really works: and I can shoot from a fast moving car at high ISO speeds with no noticeable blur. The higher speed is predictably grainy, but the grain is pleasingly mild.
Battery life is good, 150 shots or so. When I feel serious, I carry a second charged battery.
If you like, turn off the flash and turn off the the synthetic camera sounds from "settings", and you have a very discreet camera that would please James Bond.
The auto focus works well, even without the focus assist lamp.
At first I had a few shots where the focus would not lock.
Then I found that the secret to focusing seems to be holding the camera still. After I discovered that, I had no more focus problems.
I also found that the macro mode continuously focuses. It draws a little more from the battery, but can be useful for faster shooting.
The color saturation is very good, even the auto white balance works, and the image you see is what you capture.
Nikon means good images. I am Happy. Well, almost...
....
The time to focus an image can run to 2 seconds or so.
The time to write an image to the SD card can be 3 seconds or more, even with high speed cards. In fact, there does not seem to be any difference in write speed between high speed and regular cards.
Expect to have to concentrate while shooting, which may not be a bad thing after all. Not quite "point and shoot", but "hold down the shutter release half way to focus, then frame and shoot".
It suits me, but I am from the old school of the manual camera.
Another annoyance is that the lens stays open while reviewing pictures, and can easily get smudged by a wandering fingertip.
The power switch is not well defined by touch, and is easily turned on accidentally. I learned to set the display timeout to go to standby mode in 30 seconds to save battery life in case of accidental turn on.
So, if you are patient and can live with a few annoyances, you will have a sleek little camera that goes anywhere and gets the most use.
I really like it after all.
- I am a novice photographer, who was looking for a good quality point-and-shoot to (hopefully) improve my ability to take good pictures. Specific features that interested me in this camera: the picture stabilization that compensates for hand-shaking; the compact size; usability of the interface and (I admit it) the 'cool' factor of this Nikon.
Some small gripes: The nonwireless version of the camera - the S52 - comes with a battery charger and charger cord. You cannot recharge the batteries through the USB connector to the camera; the only way to recharge is to have the battery charger at hand. Thus, you either have to lug around the charger and cord with you, or have a second charged battery for long outings. This isn't really made clear in any of the product literature online - I did not understand this aspect until I read the user manual.
Another small gripe: The S52 Nikon camera here on Amazon.com here is at a great price (about $50 less than the price Nikon quotes on its website). I expected there to be at least a cheapo carrying case - for example, a felt bag - for the camera, but Nikon does not include any kind of case in the package. The camera is indeed small enough to slip in a pocket or purse, but it seems like a slipcase of some kind would have been a nice addition to the kit. Especially since there are a number of accessories you might need to take with you.
The camera itself is quite elegant, and packed with nice features. I love the camera but I am irritated about the cumbersome two-piece charger.
- I was so excited to receive my brand new CoolPix S52 (Eco-Green), and the photos were really quite excellent. I was also pleased that it was very easy to learn how to use the various camera features. HOWEVER, when I used the movie or voice recording modes there was a very high level of awful static sound recorded EVERY TIME. I upgraded to the best memory card I could find, and that did not make a bit of difference.
Naturally, I returned the camera under Warranty (with sample video/audio) to Nikon TWICE for repair or replacement. To my dismay, they returned it to me both times stating "Your unit was thoroughly checked and was found completely within the factory standards". They also said not to expect the sound quality to be excellent because it didn't have a "sophisticated microphone". Maybe so, but it shouldn't be so poor that you cringe when you listen to the playback.
I was so disappointed that I sold the camera used and replaced it with a Canon PowerShot SD850 IS (Digital Elph) Canon PowerShot SD850 IS 8.0 MP Digital Elph Camera with 4x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom that I am extremely happy with (both photos and sound are fantastic).
Bottom line - if recording movies is important to you, don't buy this camera. It will be a big disappointment and a waste of money. If you decide to buy it, be sure to test the movie and sound recording modes soon after you receive it to be sure you are satisfied.
- I purchased this camera about 5 weeks ago, just before leaving on a 3 week overseas trip, so had little time to familiarize myself with the majority of the numerous features. But the camera is easy to use, at least as far as the basic "point and shoot" practice goes. I'm very pleased with the large display, although it sometimes still is hard to see the shot when in a bright outdoor setting. But I typically could make out some basic outlines, as opposed to my previous p & s pocket size Minolta camera (S2), where the display was useless in any lighting conditions brighter than daytime outdoor with a full cloud cover. That, as well as the fact that the battery charge on the Minolta seemed to last for fewer and fewer shots, even on replacement batteries.
A viewfinder (on the Nikon) would be nice in those very bright outdoor situations, but I guess that that is the trade-off for getting a screen that is almost the size of the camera (I'm not kidding: it's 2 3/8 inches wide on the camera which is 3 3/8 wide overall). I'm very pleased with the quality of the shots (I took about 200), some of which were shot from a moving train, and still seem sharp.
My main reason for writing this review is to make others aware of two things: 1. The camera comes with its own battery charger. The reason I bring this up is that no-where in the written specs on Amazon did it say anything on this topic. Furthermore, somewhere on the Amazon website it also drew attention to "Customers who purchased this (camera), also purchased the following:" one of which was a battery charger. I went to the Nikon website, and got the impression that a charger was included, which is what I would have expected. Since I could not afford the time it would take to order a battery charger once I received the camera and found no charger, I phoned Amazon customer service to ask the question. That person came back on line after researching this for several minutes, and told me that the camera did NOT come with a charger. So I of course ordered the charger (from a different supplier than the camera, all thru Amazon). Both Amazon and this second supplier were very accomodating in giving me a refund, as well as (Amazon) refunding my s & h charge, but it still cost me some $7 for return shipping.
The second issue is the tight fit of this camera in the Nikon Coolpix leather case (also offered by Amazon, from yet a third supplier). It is very easy to inadvertently turn the camera on when pushing the camera into the case, and evidently the camera stays "on" until the battery is totally discharged. Nikon had no suggestions / never heard of this problem. I managed to pound out the top of both sides of the case enough to not have that happen again.

- This a great camera. I have never been able to take good pictures, but with this camera, the pictures are great. It is just perfect for me.
- Bought this camera to replace HP digital and boy was it a great deal. This camera takes great pictures. I am very pleased with it. Added a 2gb memory card and card reader.
- My daughter and I were initially pleased. The pics were sharp for a $100 camera and it was easy to use. After less than 2 mos however it would no longet turn on. New batteries did not solve this problem so I returned it for another. No issues with this one for about the same time and then the same defect hit. After it sat around for weeks I decided to give it another try with new batteries and it worked for one picture before shutting down once again.
I'll be contacting Kodak but wanted to post this
- After a few weeks of working this camera, it has done a great job. Highly recommend it.
- The camera I purchased for my grandson was shipped exactly like I needed and he is very happy with it.

5 comments about Samsung L100 8.2MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom (Red).
- I purchased this camera (samsung L100 in red) and I love it!!!! I recommended. And the price is def. worth it!!!
- Just bought this camera recently and have been using it frequently. This is a very, very easy camera to use, and the picture quality is fantastic. The best part is you don't have to spend an arm and a leg for it. If you're very passionate about cameras and photos, you'll probably want to purchase a digital SLR; but if you just need a casual, point-and-shoot camera, I highly recommend this one.
- Having owned a few Nikon digital SLR's and point and shoots, I was drawn to this camera by its cool looks at first. With its ability to shoot fully manual, adjust white balance, two hours of moving video, and numerous other desirable features including a tripod socket, how can you go wrong for this price? Samsung knows how to pack alot of bang for the buck into a small, attractive and effective package. I hope to break it in soon.
- This small camera has some pros and some cons. For me, this is a secondary camera (used when my wife and I travel separately), and it performs very well for that purpose.
Pros
- Lightweight
- Plenty of shooting options
- Price
- Built-in battery (no hassles with AA batteries, etc. like other cameras in this price range)
- Battery lifetime
Cons
- The shoot mode dial on top changes easily when the camera is in a pocket. You need to make sure that it didn't change (or you'll start recording a video when you really wanted a picture, etc.)
- Closeups are a bit blurry, even when using the built-in mode for that.
- Flash takes a while to charge
- No standard USB connector - you have to travel with the supplied cable to sync and charge.
- This is a very small Point & Shoot camera which does not take amazing pics but does the work of capturing moments. No image stabilization but for a little less than $100 it is one of the best choices if you don't want to spend a lot on a small camera. Besides, everyone can live without image stabilization in this type of product.

2 comments about Sony LCSCSJ Soft Carrying Case for Sony S, W, T, and N Series Digital Cameras.
- You can always put a digital camera in a Handy Cam Bag, that does not mean that Handy Cam Bag is a digital camera bag right? This is what the situation is with this bag. It almost has a capacity to keep two Sony T or N series cameras.
This Camera bag is good for any midsize digital camera with two extra pockets to keep extra battery, memory stick etc. Cameras like DSC W1, W5, W7, W55, W30, S85, S650, S90, S60 etc. will go fine with this bag.
The quality of Bag is very good but this is not meant for Sony T or N series cameras.
- this carrying case is very confortable, it have a lot of pokets, and its very nice

2 comments about 2.8" Touchscreen MP3/MP4 Player with Digital Still & Video Camera, FM Receiver, Recorder, JPG Viewer - 2 GB.
- Let me first start by saying YES I would buy from this seller again. If they have any more left I plan to buy one for a family member soon. The shipping was FAST!!! Now on to the product. I LOVE IT!!! It has a few more features than what is named (such as PC Webcam calendar etc...). The touchscreen is amazing. It is extremely easy to put songs on it just use drag and drop or whatever program you use to store your music. Camera's work good in the right light. Radio works good as well. I only gave this a 4 for a few reasons. 1. There's always room for improvement with any product. 2. This doesn't come with a stylus or USB Adapter. 3. This player seems to take forever to fully charge. I had it charge for over 8 hours and still not fully charged. (That's the only real con I have.) Aside from that even though it takes forever to fully charge the battery last a long time before it tells you it needs to be recharged. Overall this is a great and easy product. Would recommend it to anyone who wants a iPod Touch but doesn't wanna spend iPod Touch money. Well worth the money!!!
Edit from last review:
I switched to a different USB Cord other than the one that came with it and it charged FAST like a hour or 2 fully charged. One other good thing about this is it has a true 2GB of memory. I mean I was able to put over 225 songs plus 5 30 minute videos and a few pics on it and I still have alot of room left unlike similar players I've had that were 2GB I couldn't even put 100 songs on them.
- Good product. I am in the Army and use the heck out of this thing. It dose everything its suppose to and works well. Not near as nice as the i touch but the price is worth the difference. Dont pass this up. Email me if you have any questions email me.

5 comments about Pentax K200D 10.2MP Digital SLR Camera with Shake Reduction (Body Only).
- I have been using my K200D for 2 months now and love it. I compared several cameras in an electronics chain store (Nikon D60, Canon EOS XTi, Olympus 520), and then ordered the K200D after reading many online reviews (DPReview, CameraLabs and others).
This is my first DSLR, after having used a film SLR (Canon) for many years and digital point and shoot cameras (Kodak and Canon) for the last few.
The Pentax feels so much more solid than the other DSLRs in my hands, a piece of real equipment. The camera's features were superior to the Nikon (tho you can never go wrong with Nikon), and the image quality per reviews and my experience has been great. The price point on Amazon made the decision a no-brainer, and I have not been disappointed.
I have read some comments that the JPGs produced by the K200D are overly sharp, exhibiting "jaggies" on edges. I have tried a few times to reproduce this to see how changing the JPG quality settings would affect it, but have been unable to see the effect at all. I will keep trying and update this review should I produce any results. BTW the same article indicated shooting RAW the K200D was fantastic - if you process your photos on the PC and don't mind the extra storage for RAW, then the JPG issue is moot.
The camera operates in any range from point-and-shoot auto everything (including flash) down to full manual, and incorporates many scene modes in addition to the program, shutter priority, aperture priority, and fixed ISO program modes. Settings such as white balance (including custom WB), self timer, continuous shooting and more are rapidly accessed via the function button followed by one of the cursor keys, and there is a switch on the body at the base of the lens to switch to manual focus. Anti-shake is built into the body, keeping lenses simple, reliable and less expensive, a plus over Canon and Nikon. Sensor size is APS-C (a plus over Olympus), and I have read it is the same sensor used in the Nikon D60, which appears to be born out in online reviews.
Only thing lacking IMO is a focus assist lamp for low light focusing, and that can be remedied with a Pentax external flash which has the focus assist lamp. Really it has been only in unfairly low light conditions where focus has failed me (dimly lit indoor displays viewed from a moving cart - like some of the dimmest portions of rides in Disney World). If you are bent on live view that is not here either, but realize live view as implemented on DSLRs has many limitations anyway. The viewfinder on the K200D is very good, BTW, and it is a better tool than live view - with the exception perhaps of the occasional shot with the camera held far away from your face, perhaps shooting over a crowd.
Parting comments: if you have other Pentax K mount lenses they should work here (I do not have any, unfortunately), and if you have the older screw mount M42 lenses there are K mount adapters available to make them work too. So unlike the Canon FD glass cluttering my closet, your old Pentax lenses are still much more than paper weights.
If you are considering a DSLR I highly recommend it.
- Excelent camera! Great pictures and easy to use. The colors are life-like and the ability to adjust focus and depth of field are a plus!
- i have had this camera for a few months now. i think its fantastic for the price. the image stabilization works well - i regularly shoot at 1/15. the camera feels very substantial - much more so than the equivalent canon and nikon pieces. the kit lens is very good. the flash is very powerful. i loved shooting RAW for the first time and am totally taken away by its potential - i am never going to shoot with a camera without RAW again! i have had no issues with color and such - although i have heard professional reviews that have complained about it.
some problems that i saw - the fps rate is really low and seems lower than the specified 2.8. Shooting 3 shots in auto-bracket mode seems to take forever. the software for converting RAW is not that great. i had also bought a remote control from some asian site - and didn't have much success using it - although that likely the remote's fault and not the camera. and i am not a great fan of having to go through multiple clicks to do simple things like changing ISO speed. Canon controls are superior in this respect.
- I've owned many digital cameras- the epson 1 MP, kodak dc290 2MP, minolta dimage 7 5MP, canon powershot S3 6MP, and now the pentax K200D.
I love this camera, and I enjoy taking pictures with it. Its a great dSLR and I purchased it mostly because of the value pentax offers for the price(especially the built in shake reduction).
Cons:
-I am annoyed that there is not a dedicated button for the changing the shooting mode(single, continuous, timer, remote control, auto bracketing). Everytime I want to use the remote, or the self timer, I have to press the function button, then navigate the menus. It isn't a big deal, but it adds a second or two to something that should take only 2 seconds to begin with.
-this camera does not have an intervalometer. I was used to taking time lapse photographs with my previous 2 cameras, and I was surprised that this camera does not have this function. I imagine that an intervalometer can be implemented by software very easily, so I assume that it was left out so that more advanced photographers would pay more for the K20D.
Pros:
-The shake reduction really works very well. I've taken 1 second test shots handheld and the blur was reduced dramatically. The shake stabilization does however emit a high frequency sound compared to the optical stabilization systems used by canon.
-The build quality of this camera is top rate. Most people don't appreciate build quality these days, but if you just pick this thing up and handle it, you'll realize that it is built to last. Modern electronics usually go obsolete before anyone notices the build quality, but pentax took the bet that some people do notice a difference. It helps me have a peace of mind to know that the camera is splash proof and dust proof.
Photokina 2008 has come and gone. Nikon and canon both have released dSLRs with video capability. I bought my camera in june 2008, and now with the current camera marketin october 2008, I would still have chosen the K200d for the price. I enjoyed the high quality video capabilities of my canon powershot S3 and I hope that when I replace my dSLR in about 5-10 years, pentax will have a competitive dSLR with 1080P video capability. If price wasn't an issue, I would get the canon 5D mark II with 1080P video, but since money is an issue, I am very very happy with the K200D.
For anyone with a budget large enough to buy the K200D or K20D dSLR with a few lenses, the unanimous advice I've found online was to purchase a cheaper dSLR with higher quality lenses. Lenses will maintain their value over a long period of time because lens technology does not advance as fast as electronics technology. Some pentax lenses like the 31mm f1.8 prime is considered by many as THE best autofocus lens ever made. If you want another reason to go for pentax, that would be it- The best pentax prime lenses are also the best lenses that money can buy.
- I have shot with Cannon and Nikon, but by far I like this camera more than any of the other ones I have shot it! Good price, great camera

- The case fits nicely. But, when removing the camera, I keep pulling the flap open where the battery and card are. Turning it around is not the solution. The wrist strap is in the way. And, wrapping the wrist strap one way leads to accidentally turning on the camera. I ended up buying the silicon jacket for protection. Lighter and easier to deal with.
- Im using this case with a cybershot t300. First time it didnt fit but got adjusted since then. Not flashy, is perfect for traveling and fitting into small purses without bulk.
- Bought a sony dsc-w300 and I didn't want anything that was going to be big or bulky and this fit the bill. Slides in and out easily while protecting the camera.
