- Having used the fz18 model for while, i had a chance to look at this model a few days ago. While i did not use it for more than a few hours i managed top get a nice handle on it. The camera is designed to be do everything ok but master nothing. To master everything is probably not realistic since you do not have the luxury of DSLR lenses for everything length. I think i will mention my likes and dislike.
Likes:
1. video mode is very good, video is clean and has decent sound.
2. good image quality, even at 12x+(must use tripod for anything after 12x)
3. Nice lcd screen
4. good battery like. i shot about 400 shots before they were depleted.
Dislikes:
1. still too heavy to use for macro, must have a tripod
2. as light dissapears so does the qualify of the evening shots.
3. flash is a bit weak
overall, i think if you have used these type of models (with 12x+ lenses) you will not find anything earth shattering. but you will enjoy the new upgrade.

- This camera is great for outdoor sunny use. Any other time it produces blurry images. If you raise the ISO over 200 the image is also very grainy. I would only recommend getting this camera if you are only willing to take outdoor still pictures on sunny days.
- This is a great camera, takes great pictures, even in low light. very easy to change settings; very user friendly. everyone wants to know what kind of camera i am using. great price for product.
- I fell in love first of all with the color of the camera...I LOVE PURPLE! After receiving this camera right before Christmas, I haven't put it down...I've taken pictures at all of my family events which include the debutante ball, graduation, birthdays, college road trip party, etc. and the pictures are phenominal! I change the background on my computer every week because I have so many wonderful pictures stored in my camera. I recommend this camera for not only the quality of the pictures, but also the price. I have truly gotten my money's worth plus some...enjoy!
- When the camera was first released, many customers experienced a problem in which the camera would freeze periodically and the only way to regain control would be to remove the battery and power cycle. Another more recent problem consumers are experiencing now is cracking the fragile LCD screen on this device. It's roughly as durable as an eggshell. Once the LCD is broken you cannot use this camera. Don't be tempted to buy a used one without the LCD... it's useless. Lastly, when the camera is working properly, it does not perform nearly as well as other cameras in its 2007 class - there are many cameras that produce better pictures at lower retail prices. When I presented a working version of this camera to many friends and family I COULD NOT TRADE OR EVEN GIVE IT AWAY for FREE. My friends and relatives liked their Fujitsu, Nikon or Canon ALOT better. Don't give into the temptation to pick up this inexpensive 8MP camera; you WILL be dissapointed.
- This camera is my first digital camera and it takes fantastic pictures. My family and I went to Ripley's Believe it or not in St. Augustine and the photos came out great.. outside and inside. Outside I used the general (auto) setting and inside I used the museum setting. All the pictures came out amazing.

- I love this camera. I love the zoom, I love the macro, and I love the ISO feature. The pictures are sharp as can be and the options are endless for my needs. It's easy to use once reading the manual. Cropping is a breeze on zoombrowser which came with it. I have discovered more of a love for photography then ever. I have taken the most beautiful macro pics of my kids that I have ever seen. Nature pics are going to be all over this house in frames!! This is definitely the best camera I have ever used for my family. I have had other canon power shots, but this is the best one. I have rechargeable batteries so that is not a problem. I buy the 2GB cards and they hold tons of pics. If I can find the link on here I will include some macro flower and sea glass shots.
- a very good camera, great quality of photos and best of all extremely simple to use. Quick delivery an no problems.
- Never having used a digital camera before, I was amazed at how easy it is to use this one. Pictures are very clear, 10x optical zoom is amazing at how you can bring scenes close, and info on screen lets you know when you need the flash before taking the picture. Well worth the money.
- I did much searching for the right camera, checked also from The Consumer Magazine, and their ratings on Camera's..This camera I bought was a consumer's best buy..I am very pleased with this Camera, and still learning about all it's many features! It was well worth the Money, with all this camera has to offer..I am enjoying taking many pictures, and exploring all of this camera's features..I would highly recommend this Camera!!!
- first of all this is a great camera. in addition its a sweet camcorder as well. i took so many crisp videos it was ridiculous. the pic quality is great and the zoom is by far the strongest you'll find in a typical camera. definately buy if you want a good camera but are not sure of the technology. It has all the features and the pic quality.

- People can show off their Rebel tsi and say it has 12 megapixels, but you can show off your 30d and say, "mine's not cheap plastic." This camera is perfect for a semi-pro, student, or just about anyone who can afford it. I warn you not to buy it from DBROTH though. They scammed me out of 99.99 dollars worth of photoshop, and I'm still trying to settle it with them. The hi-speed shooting is great for my hobby of shooting skate pictures. I think my customer image is number 82 or something. If you want to use it for landscapes, you'll need to get something with a really wide angle, because of the 1.6 cropping factor. If you're into sports photography like me though, it just gives your telephoto zoom lens a little more reach.
- This was my second dslr and I loved it when I owned it. I have a 5D and a 40D now.

- This is great bang for your buck. When I bought my first dslr, the XT, new, it cost the same as the 30D does now. I'm very happy with the improved controls of the 30D over the XT as well as better high iso performance and 5 fps... My future plans are to get a 5d for holding a wideangle lens and use the 30D for the 70-200. The 24-105 range makes sense on either but the nature of the lens will be more telephoto on the 30D...
- I've shot photos for almost 45 years. . . . started very early. The bottom line is the Canon 30D has excellent build quality, superb low light performance, excellent features and most of all superb picture quality in both ideal and non ideal lighting.
I shot a lot of low light pictures and compared the Nikon 80, the Canon 30D and 40D and to my eyes, the Canon 30D simply rendered the sharpest, most noise free images in lower light levels.
I owned 3 Canon EF lens. The 50mm f1.4, the 70-300mm IS lens and the Canon 28-135MM IS lens. All of these lens deliver excellent pictures in low light, provide sharp images and focus quickly and accurately. I tend to be a strong believer in Nikon and Canon because of the bench strength of their great lens.
The only downside of the 30D is it lacks live view. In my opinion this is of limited if any value. To some, this feature might be important, but be aware that live view depletes the camera's battery pretty quickly.
Even thought this camera is discontinued, it is well worth seeking out.
- I'm extremely happy with my camera!
You can't beat this camera for the money.

- This is the best point-and-shoot camera which gives you picture quality as good as Digital SLRs. I have used many other camera's but never got the picture and video quality as good as this one.
Its has so many great features, including the color accent, color swap, black & white picture, and the time lapse movie mode which makes it the coolest camera ever.
Its is so easy to use that even an novice can take professional quality pictures in minutes. The battery never disappoints me and it lasts incredibly long, more than you would expect, keep surprising me all the times.
- This is a great overall camera for our family for a great deal. It is small, feels relatively sturdy compared to my previous cameras, and has all the basic feasture that I need in a camera. It also has good battery life, and you can easily purchase spare rechargeably batteries on Ebay. Since it has so many features, sometimes its difficult to get to what you want quickly, but I think Canon did the best they could.
The one feature that I was most pleased with was the video feature which was important to me because I have kids. It takes decent video even indoors at night when you just have regular lamp lighting. My previous camera - Kodak C743 - couldn't take a proper video unless you were in sunlight.
Videos are saved in AVI format, making them easier to edit instead of Quicktime on my old camera which was impossible to edit. You can also adjust if you want 15 or 30 fps and at high or low quality pixels. One thing to note is that if you record at 30 fps with high quality, then be prepared to need a lot of disk space. I normally record at 15 fps in low quality to save disk space and I think its good enough.
- I love this camera because it's so small that I can take it anywhere, even in a very small purse or even a clutch. I've had it for just under a year and have yet to experience a problem. It's lightweight and sleek and comes packed with different modes and functions. The only thing I can say about this camera that bothers me is that it takes a bit of fiddling for it to capture dark skin tones indoors without the aid of flash. The 'dark skin' setting actually hasn't been a help. But otherwise, this camera is ace. It takes beautiful pictures outside and does well in low light/mood lighting.
The video it captures is very utilitarian but it has colour modes and sound which is really all that a very point-and-shoot camera needs.
Best parts: comes with battery and charger (no fussing with AAAs), very streamlined and compact, many functions, great colours
Cons: some adjusting needed for darker skin, if viewfinder gets dusty it stays dusty (on the inside!)
- Small, comfortable, great pictures, easy to use, awesome vids for it's kind. Overall a winner.
- I have snuck this little wonder and other Canon SD cameras into the following concerts and have captured wonderful quality video: Rush, Heaven And Hell, Testament, Slayer, Arch Enemy, Dark Tranquillity, Iron Maiden and Megadeth. Canon Powershot SD cameras are capable of taking excellent video with clear (although mono) sound. When burned onto dvd and viewed on a tv, the colors simply pop off the screen. For those of you interested in capturing your own concert memories, always pack a Canon.

5 comments about Olympus FE-340 8MP Digital Camera with 5x Optical Zoom (Black).
- The Olympus FE-340 provides a respectable 8 megapixels of resolution with acceptable levels of performance across the board. If you are looking for a well built, slim, entry-level camera that's easy to use, the FE-340 makes a good choice. However, the average image quality and smeared flash photos make this camera fall short of perfection. There are a lot of good things about the camera - easy-to-use interface, stylish build, great colors, and a good lens with a little more range than is the norm at this price point. Unfortunately, you'll have to accept the good with the bad, which means soft details, aggressive NR in high-ISO performance, and average battery life.
Pros:
* Solid metal body with nice styling
* Plenty of resolution in LCD
* Nice lens
* Easy to use
Cons:
* Average image quality
* Average overall performance
* Smeared flash shots, and noise/noise reduction in general
- this product is easy to use and the software was easy to install and use though i have not printed any pictures it looks like they will be easy to print. reviewing the picures is great! i have told friends that are looking to purchace a new camera that this is the camera to get.
- I own an Olympus FE-230 which I recently gave away to my folks for taking pics of my baby niece.
The FE-230 is light, sleek and extremely nice with the picture quality.I got hooked onto Olympus with this camera and decided to try the FE-340 which,as the model number suggests is a more evolved variety--or so I thought! It is far bulkier and heavier which is a HUGE negative for me.Most importantly, in no-flash mode, the camera does not adjust for low light and in fact the pictures come much darker than the actual light of the surroundings!I am not sure if there is sophisticated workaround (which beats the purpose of a point and shoot,of course) to this low light outcome.
I wont say I am thrilled with this heavier and wider cousin of the FE-230.I'll suggest checking other varieties like the Nikon coolpix before deciding on this one.
- Overall I am happy with this camera. Some picture have come out blurry but the colors are good, zoom is amazing, and it's small enough to fit in a coin purse. I would recommend it, Olympus builds a good camera.
- We purchased the camera to take on trips and just have availble. I also have an SLR for other photo's. But this camera has been suprisingly good at taking many different types of pictures with its scene settings and they are easy to use. It is just the right size (not to small or large) and the screen is easy to use. The quality of the photos has been great and they have printed up well.

- Seems to work as expected. I would not keep the software active at startup because of the system overhead.
- This webcam was much more than I expected. It was easy to set up, easy to configure and it has an incredible picture. The privacy shade is a great feature, as is the the snapshot button. I would recommend this as a first cam for anybody. Logitech has a real winner on their hands with this line of cameras.
- I bought one for myself and one for my friend who moved to Switzerland. It is fun to be able to talk face to face. The quality of the sound and picture are good. She had a little trouble with the software installation, but all is well now.
- I was encouraged to buy a webcam by my stepdaughter. When it came I had to install it twice just to see what it would do. The documentation is scarce and hard to use for a neophyte like me.
And one person I was using it with said it kept cutting out and I had to restart it many times.
I don't think this technology is very mature yet. It works OK but there are pitfalls.
- This quick cam has a great quality of picture, especially for such an affordable price!

5 comments about Canon EOS 5D 12.8 MP Digital SLR Camera (Body Only).
- Beeing a Nikon guy it was a big step for me to move on to Canon. I had a Nikon D70S which was a good camera for me for a long time.
The menu/navigation system was easy to adapt, so no problems there. And it didn't take long before I understood I had a much much better camera in my hands. Without going into details, the image quality is simply very very good. I love this camera.
A thing I hvae noticed is that while the D70S needed very accurate settings for both shutter time and F-numbers in order to take good pictures, the 5D gives good pictures for a wide range of shutter times and F-numbers. Sounds a bit strange, but that's my experience.
I took a lot of pictures late in the evening and using 1600 ISO, the quality was still very good. I have notices that people try ISO 1600 and above when it is good light conditions. Note! This will not tell you anything about how the camera is at high ISO values with little light. You need to have little light to check how good the high ISOs are. And 1600 ISO gave smooth images with this camera.
Battery time was good. I took about 600 images over 3 weeks before it turned flat.
Note! This camera don't have a internal blitz, which off course is because it is a pro camera, but still its good for you to know...
Well. There is 1 problem with this camera. The focus points. They are as other say, centered to near the middle, so very often I need to crop the image in other ways than I had intended, often giving lot of air above the object. Typically I want to focus on the face, giving a lot of blue sky above the head. This is actually very irritating. Also the navigation for focus points are idiotic - every time I want to change focus pint I need to click this tiny button in the corner, before using the keypad. This means that I must move the camera away from my eyes every time I want to change point. Argg... It is also very hard to find the right focus point.
Ahhh, and I just loved the full size CMOS. No more x 1.5 for me!!!
Almost perfect this camera!
- The EOS 5D is a terrific digital SLR. Its price point isn't for everyone but if you're a very serious amateur or want to upgrade to a camera that's pretty close to the 1D professional version (several thousand dollars more) - this is the camera. It has far more features than I am familiar with for the time being - but it is not hard to learn. I recommend it if you're really serious about photography. The Amazon price, shipping, and business dealings are excellent.
- I have researched for one of the best DSLR cameras without breaking the bank and have found it in the 5D model. A very flexible camera, truly a masterpiece for shooting landscapes and portraits as well as anything in between, the 5D fulfills any needs I had prior to owning it. My only wish is that it had a more flexible bracketing system, such as 5 frames bracketing instead of 3 frames. Still, worth its weight in gold, the 5D is the one DSLR I would recommend for any job and for any serious amateur or pro photographer out there.
- The first time I saw the Canon EOS 5D was back in 2005, shortly after it was released. To me, it represented the logical digital version of a full-frame 35mm SLR at a fraction of the cost of the top-of-the-line offerings from Canon and Nikon. I purchased the kit, which includes the EF 24-105mm zoom lens, for a trip to Japan, with the intent of using this as my primary walk around camera. It performed as expected: the 24mm wide angle was very useful, as was the 105mm. Resolution, color balance, etc. were very good to excellent. Indoor exposures with ISO 400 were excellent, and IS system worked well, since I did not bring a tripod. (I also brought the 100mm macro lens and 100-400mm zoom lens from Canon for the trip).
- This camera is awesome. It is great in low light and I can still ghost images which I prefer doing. I've gone to the dark side (digital) and I really enjoy it. This is my first DSLR.

4 comments about 10.1MP Camera with 3X Optical Zoom and 2.8" Wide-format LCD.
- This is our second Casio Exilim and it is excellent. A camera has to be small enough to carry in your pocket or you just won't take it with you. This and the EX-Z750 have the small optical sensor which provide good clear pictures even zoomed in.
- This is an excellent little camera. It has every feature you would want, it is very easy to use, and the large screen on the back is superb. There is high resolution when you enlarge the pictures, even to 8x10.
I highly recommend this camera for the amateur or the professional.
- Pro:
Great pictures. On par or better than canon sd870.
Easy to navigate menus.
Best shots feature is useful.
Con:
LCD preview display could be enhanced. The preview display quality seems to be of much poorer quality compared to Canons. This is not a big deal since the final picture looks great.
- Just a terrific little camera - fast, great battery life, lots of features, and outstanding picture quality. The perfect take-it-everywhere camera.
