5 comments about Sony Alpha DSLRA300X 10.2MP Digital SLR Camera with Super SteadyShot Image Stabilization with DT 18-70mm f/3.5-5.6 & DT 55-200mm f/4-5.6 Zoom Lenses.
  1. This is exactly what I have been looking for: A D-SLR that can be used like a point and shoot most of the time (just with better picture quality and a lot faster) but gives you the flexibility of a SLR when you have the time and leisure.

  2. This is a GREAT camera!!! The tilting lcd screen is fantastic and definitely worth the upgrade from the A200. I also bought a tripod (recommended) and so tilting the lcd screen came in really useful when the tripod went higher than my head! The camera feels great in the hand and the buttons are well placed. There is so much to this camera and I am excited about learning how to use everything. Definitely worth buying extra lenses, filters, extra battery etc to make this the perfect package.

  3. I upgraded to this camera from a Konica Minolta 5D. I'm very happy with the quality and ease of use with this camera. I can use my minolta lenses as well, As a matter of fact, the kit lens on the sony doesn't seem to be all that great really. So I'm using my kit lens off my km5d and am a lot happier with the results. I like the live view preview ability but mostly still shoot through the view finder. I recommend this camera to anyone. From the first time dslr user to the pro.

  4. I researched affordable DSLR cameras and chose the A300 for its rear screen viewing when desired, its 'in the camera body' anti shake system, its comfortable shape and weight, and its excellent picture clarity. The A300 is NOT a 'dumbed down' DSLR. Its sophisticated (yet easy to use)features should satisfy any photographer. Controls are perfectly positioned, settings are easily reviewed, delay time between pressing the shutter release and the picture being taken IS NON EXISTANT. Audio noise is unobtrusive. Bracketing is simply achieved. and the kit lens is fine for general use. As I take Nature photos, I opted for the Tamron 70-300mm zoom lens as a quality yet less expensive alternative to the Sony zoom. I would buy the Sony A300 again without hesitation. [Nevertheless, if you have an extra $400, the new 350 is an impressive choice indeed.]

  5. I bought this camera recently. Modestly, I thought this was one of the best decisions I made! The camera is amazing, it looks beautiful, it takes very, very good pictures, and the price is unbelievably good! I am not a fan of Sony products, but I just loved this. I don't write reviews very often, but I so wanted to share my excitement!

  1. I decided to upgrade from my older Sony CyberShot and was unsatisfied with the touch screen function. Also, the camera has a few buttons on the sides, but they are entirely too hard, so I'd have to press down on them anytime I wanted to use them, which was frequently.

I gave it a star because the style is the best I've seen from Sony by far.

  2. Its the camera that I have with me every day, all the time, as its small, does not take up a lot of space, has long battery life, starts up and takes pictures very quickly and image quality is excellent.

I prefer buttons to touchscreens, but I got used to this one and it works pretty well. Can operate the camera by one hand only, including the zoom, to take pictures, for example if I catch an interesting light on a building while walking on the street.

Low light scene programs work very well, took a few night skyline and fireworks shots recently. You will need a mini tripod or a Joby Gorillapod for that.

The T2 really lived up to my expectations as the point and shoot that's always ready. It complements well my film cameras that I use for more elaborate photography.

  3. The reasons for which I got attracted were 4GB built-in memory, stylish body and the size. It's working properly so far and I am satisfied. But, I found that the picture quality was not good as expected. I tried all the possible settings but still couldn't get the fully satisfying quality that we can expect from camera in this price. The next thing I didn't find friendly was the USB interface. The connector is in the down side which is really difficult to keep the camera in stand position.

Overall, It's a good camera that does everything as expected and the best camera for the quick snapshots....

  4. This one has all the features I ever dreamed, plus is so easy to use that I didn't need to read the catalog to figure it out.

  5. This is a great camera for someone looking for something very small and portable. The screen is very large (and touch-screen) so all the options you need to change are right there. It also has a "simple-shoot" mode so you don't get confused with all the options.

Leaving it on automatic, night shots come out very well, and there is usually no red-eye.

  1. This is an excellent product. I bought my Sony to make video reviews and to take a multitude of pictures. The camera comes with a very user friendly "how to" manual for those of us who aren't too tech savvy. For the price, it is a steal. The picture quality is excellent and rivals the quality from a lot of more expensive cameras. The Sony software isn't interchangeable with other brands so be ready to pay a little more to equip your product with Sony only products. All in all, an excellent purchase!

  1. I really like this camera! You need to become familiar with the different settings to get good pictures. I lost most of the first batch I took. The next day I started looking at the settings and everything was fine. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to take decent pictures but maybe is not a serious photographer.

  2. This camera is good for the money. One issue I have is the speed at which it stores the image once the shutter button has been pushed. I have an older Olympus camera that is quicker. At first I thought it was the SIM card that I bought but it even stores slowly to the internal memory. The work-around is that you can push the shutter button a second time to be ready for another picture while the original image is being stored. All-in-all this camera works for my purposes. Business.

  3. This product is ok....I will say that Amazon is thorough and gives great customer service...The camera came in a timely manner.

  4. I knew nothing about digital cameras when I bought this and it was really easy to learn how to use. The image is clear and the color good. there are many uses for this camera and I would recommend this to anyone. Actually I liked mine so well that I recently purchased one for boyfriend for his birthday.

  5. This was a good upgrade from my last digital camera. It has/will serve its purpose.

  1. I really like this tripod. However, there are lots of leavers to adjust to set it up.

  2. god i cant belive how easy it was too get this product i was mpressed with the qaulity of the merchindice i would buy this product agian and agian i love the way it was so easy to get my hands on the tri pod and AC/DC power adapter thanks too who ever was the seller great job guy or gal john chapman ............

  3. This is a very good tripod. It's not quite as easy to use such as a VERY expensive tripod, but overall it's pretty easy to use. The only thing is, when you want to shoot in high angle and then switch to low angle, you have to release the camera and then put it back the other way. Other than that, it's stable, it has a quick release, and it looks and feels very professional.

  4. It's not a ball-joint but for the price it's quite good. Very stable, but perhaps not heavy enough if you are really looking for something professional. Build quality is quite satisfactory.

  5. This tripod is great for anyone on a budget. Its construction, while not overly impressive, gives the sense that it won't tip over. Beyond that, it does what it's meant to do -- holds a camera steady and allows you as the photographer to make adjustments easily and with precision. The built-in level helps get things straight, while the adjustment knobs are easy to learn and work well for quick adjustments. I really can't ask for anything more for the price.

Simply put, if you don't want to spend over $100 on a tripod, this is the one to get.

5 comments about Olympus W-10 Digital Voice Recorder with Built-in Digital Camera.
  1. My son asked for this for Christmas and I consented but may live to regret it as I'm sure he will end up recording something he is not supposed to hear! ;) But, it did come in very handy when my daughter had to learn a song that we could only find on the internet and we recorded it with this and all she had to do was walk around for a day with this digital recorder and play it over and over until she got it down. It takes pictures, but you cannot see them on the screen immediately...you have to download to your pc to see them. Great lower priced recorder for kids. :)

  2. I used this for the first time sitting fifty feet away from the dais in a wine seminar, picked up every word loud and clear. Even picture function better than I expected. This vendor, outlet, had the recorder to me in two days. Once owned a more complex Olympus with so many folders, menus and options to set that it was annoying. You could get a nose bleed reading the manual - this one I didn't even have to look at the manual. This is all you need! 1 1/8 inches wide, 4 1/2 long, about 5/8 of an inch thick. Nice size speaker for playback. USB and software easiest transfer I've encountered especially compared to software for Kodak Digital cameras. An absolute steal at this price from Outlet. It pays to compare available vendors as price can vary widely.

  3. The product is very nice and easy to use but the capacity is low, but it is still very nice for daily use, I have been using this item for memorizing something everyday. Picture quality is not very nice but I like the product. I can say that it is nice to use for shopping! I record my wife's list and never forget any item!!

  4. I bought this for occasional use to make quick recordings that would be the basis for written reports later. It is acceptable for that job. I've tried the camera but the light has never come on to show that it is ready to take a photo. But it is a very low resolution camera that I did not plan on using anyway. Cell phone ones probably work better.

  5. i would like to return it, the camera does not work ...will i be reimbursed my $10 shipping ?

  1. I purchased this Camera upon the recommendation of my mother. I was a bit skeptical at first at the size and price for a 10mp camera but I have been amazed at the quality of shots. I took a picture of my dog in my basement with no light on and i turned out like a daylight shot. It is quick to take the picture and in burst mode i get about 4 pictures all with flash in less than a second. I love this little camera. Small enough to fit in my pocket yet well made so i don't worry about it being there. Yeah it's not the manliest color in the world but you can get it in silver and black as well. I would recommend this product to my friends, and when time comes to get another camera I will certainly be looking at Casio Exilim first.

  2. This camera is absolutely amazing. i had the older version previously but unfortunately i dropped it too many times for it to survive. So i upgraded to the newer version and i couldn't be happier. The display is gorgeous as are the outcomes from the camera. Cameras have come a long way with Mega Pixels and this definitely shows incredible capabilities. The zoom feature is great and i love that you have the ability to rotate, edit, and crop pictures and video files. I recommend this to everyone i know and i hope by reading this you will consider it 100%

  3. - easy to use
    - perfect quality of pictures/videos
    - fantastic zoom options
    - on the screen you can see the life of the battery (it lasts pretty long)
    - very thin and light

I really love my new Casio!

  4. It is alot of fun to have. I have it clicked on my belt beside my cell, so it is easy to walk with. It is easy to use. The pics are beautiful. I have found nothing to not like. It's just alot of fun to have.

  5. Very slim camera, with a decent selection of modes, and features. Very nice large LCD on the back, though I wish it could be a little brighter...but that's no major hang up.

Slightly disappointing that you can't hit a button to see the last photo you took while in snapshot mode, you need to enter review mode to see any images.

Menu structure was a little confusing for me at first, wasn't as slick as some of the menu's I've seen on Sony cameras, but it is functional.

I don't see any icon which notifies me if pictures are storing to memory card or camera memory, but I soon found out that when a memory card is inserted pictures automatically save to memory card, which makes sense...but it would have been nice.

To charge the battery you need to take it out and place it in the battery charger, where it takes about 90 mins to charge. While this is slightly annoying to have to take the battery in and out every time you need to charge it, it means that if your battery goes bad, you only need to replace the battery and not send in the entire camera for repairs. I think the battery sells separately for 29.99 ~ 49.99. There is also a little clip holding the battery in which is annoying when you try to put the battery in, but its just a slight annoyance, not a major pain.

Picture quality is awesome. I am no expert photographer, but I was able to get some good shots. Also it has a bunch of pre-set modes (about 20 I think) from your basic indoors, outdoors, night shot, portrait to modes for party, high illumination, candles, underwater, scenery, and many more.

Where the Exilim logo is right under is a big sticker with "YouTube Capture Mode" it looks like a high quality adhesive sticker, and I'm a bit worried to take it off thinking that it might leave an ugly square spot on the camera. So I'm stuck advertising for YouTube every time I whip out my camera....oh well I'll get over it eventually.

  1. Bought one for my son so he'd stop borrowing my "professional" camera. Then I bought one for me because he was taking better pictures and video than I was!

Has all the features I was looking for, but I particularly like the instant video record button so I don't have to fumble around trying to switch modes when I want to shoot video. A 4gb SD card aparently holds 2.2 hours of video, so on my next family vacation I won't even need to take along a camcorder.

  2. I owned several cameras, film and digital, and this is by far the best digital point-and-shoot I ever had. I have to admit that it took me a long time to decide on buying a Casio as opposed to Cannon, Nikon, or Pentax, as I had very good experience with those.
However my wife was supposed to be the main user of this new camera, so when she saw it in a store, she was sold on it, as the camera is very small and very good looking. She loved the green one (which is is actually a greenish yellow) so we paid $10 more than the black one and got it.
To me it took a lot more to be convinced, so here is my point of view on it:
    Pros:
    - Very good quality of the pictures (the auto focus works great and the multi point metering system takes care nicely of most situations, including some more difficult shots (like high contrast, back lit subjects, moving subjects, etc)
    - I love that you can easily switch between standard format (1.33 ratio), film format (3:2 ratio), or wide screen (16:9 format).
    - Metal body, makes the camera fill solid and you can have a good grip and stability.
    - Easy to switch between different menus like changing formats, flash modes, ISO sensitivity, different self timer settings, shooting modes (like single, continuous, etc), auto shutter, and face recognition modes.
    - Although I consider face recognition a gimmick and I never use it in real life, I did try it and surprisingly works very well! Not only the camera will find and focus on the face, but you can set also the Auto-Shutter to take the picture only when the subject smiles. There is even more: you can record several faces in the camera's internal memory, and when those people are in a larger group, the camera will find their faces and focus on them, so they come out the best! I tried the freakish feature and it works!!!
Also, it has other many Auto-Shooting features, that some people might want, I tried them, they work but, I don't normally need most of them.
    - The movie recording quality is very good. I set it to wide screen and the highest quality and it is exceptionally good, I say at least like a DVD (also it does record sound very well, with no significant camera's own noise).
    - It has its own movie recording button, so you do not need to go though any settings in order to start filming. You push the trigger on top, you take pictures, or if you push the trigger on the back side, you are filming (push again to stop). It can not get any simpler or faster.
    - If you don't like to mingle with settings, you may find the "Best Shot" setting very simple and useful. You click the "BS" button (funny name... ;-), and you get a bunch of sample photos. Use the left-right-up-down buttons to navigate to the picture that is similar to what you are shooting, push OK, and the camera sets itself up for that type of picture (like flowers, portrait, self portrait, sports, night scenes etc, etc).
    - I love the burst shooting mode (aka CS - Continuous Shooting), which has several settings:
    CS - shoots pictures at the quality you set as fast as possible;
CS-FAST shoots lower resolution pictures and saves them to the internal memory. I got about 4 to 5 pictures per second in this mode, and the quality is good enough to print 5x7" pictures. This is a life saver when your kid shakes hands with the principal of the school, when they make a karate jump, or when they throw that ball. Normally you push the trigger and hope the camera takes the picture at the right time. With this, you push the trigger a little earlier, hold it until the kid is through, and before you know it you have a series of pictures taken at short intervals of each other, so your chances are a lot better to find one that shows what you want to see.
    - Used with a 4GB SDHC memory card, my wife took literary hundreds of pictures and filmed many minutes of movie during a recent trip before she had to transfer them to the computer. She did that only several times during the 3 weeks trip.
    - Also, one charge of the battery lasted for several days. In fact she did not charge it until, into the four or fifth day of the trip, the low battery message came on.
    Negatives:
None so important to give anything lower than a five star rating.
    - I would have liked a "shorter" focal length on the close end, so that you can have a wider view as sometimes there is not enough room to get away from larger groups of people. However most of the cameras have this focal lengths, so this is just a wish with small point and shoot cameras.
All being said, I love this little camera.

  1. This is a very good camera and I recommend it as a good first camera for anyone. The zoom, macro, and flash work very well and the camera's layout is easy to get the hang of. The camera's large display screen is great too. I like how this camera takes AA batteries instead of the usual li-ion rechargeable battery found in most thinner cameras.
The only complaint I have is when you are recording a video you dont have sound playback. Also, once uploaded to the computer the sound quality isn't that great.
It is very easy to upload your photos to a computer with a very easy-to-use program layout. I would rate this a 4 out of 5.

  2. I am a first time user of digital cameras and this product is very user friendly. I wanted something simple to use. I would recommend this camera to anyone who wants a digital camera with the higher quality and user friendly features.

  3. this is a great camera
multi functions that make picture taking very easy
    very easy to use

  4. This camera is okay. It can zoom in for pictures a lot. About 14x i think. Because its on smart zoom. It can take fine pictures, but video quality isn't as good. I love it though it's kind of small and fits in your pocket.

  5. This was a decent point and shoot camera when it worked. I took very good care of this camera. I did not drop it or damage it in any way. After 9 month's the LCD screen stopped working. This forced me to take several photos of the same pose/scene in the hopes of maybe taking a good picture of it. A couple of weeks after the 1 year warranty ran out, all of the pictures i took were fractured and blurred, forcing me to purchase a new camera. Like i said, when it did work, it took good pictures. But the quality of the hardware left a bad taste in my mouth. I will not buy another Sony camera again.
