  1. This camera is pretty good for any person. I was trying photo art with it and it's not excelent for that... but for memory photos is great.

I had another like this one but with 6.5 MP, then I bought this one.. then I bouth another one like this for a friend. Now i'm saving money to buy another one, because a couple of days ago i lost this one i bought :(

I think this is the best option because of the price, and because is a really good product. I love taking pictures, i love images, i love memories, i love visual art.. and this is the perfect tool.

  2. I LOVE THIS CAMERA! IT HAS SO MANY COOL FEATURES SUCH AS VIDEO AND ULTRA ZOOM. IT'S SO EASY TO USE AND IT'S A VERY GOOD BRAND (SAMSUNG). I HAVE PURCHASED DIGITAL CAMERAS IN THE PAST BUT THIS IS THE BEST I'VE HAD YET! TO BE HONEST, THIS IS THE SECOND CAMERA LIKE THIS THAT I HAVE PURCHASED. I LOVED IT SO MUCH, I PURCHASED A DUPLICATE, SAME COLOR, MEMORY CARD, AND ALL! BUY IT...IT'S WELL WORTH IT.

  3. The camera is sleek, light and easy to carry. Zoom is decent and picture quality also good. What surprised me is that I did not expect good night-time pictures with this camera. However, the night-time pictures are great! Great buy for less than $100.

  4. I bought this camera to use while hiking and otherwise away from a constant supply of batteries. If you buy this camera, you better bring huge supply of batteries with you. For instants, once in a while I would get maybe 20 or so photos before it shut down, sometimes only 3 or 4 and a couple times it would not start up with store fresh Duracells. It always seemed to shut down when I needed it the most.

On the positive side the pictures look great, the camera has easy to use controls and the supplied Windows software works well. All in all I suggest you look elsewhere for a digital camera.

  5. I purchased the Samsung camera about 3 months ago thinking it would be a great camera to take along on my vacation to Alaska in August. Sure am glad I bought it early! I couldn't afford to buy batteries for this camera. On several occasions, I only got 6 pictures out of one set of batteries.
I have an older digital, took the batteries out of the Samsung (It indicated they were dead) and used them in the other camera for 20 more pictures.
I recently bought another camera to use on my trip, anyone want to buy a Samsung S730? Cheap!!!

  1. I had gotten a kodak 3mp camera for christmas, it broke after the first day and I was never given the recept, so I could not return it. I through away the warrenty info, if there even was one so i was left with no alternative but to buy my own. I got it at wall-mart for 140$. My kodak was big and ugly and not too easy to use. this camera by contrast is really sleek and super easy to use. I really didnt need the mp3 feature but its a nice addition. Im not like a photographer or any thing but the pictures come out pretty good. yes the flash does white out some of the pictures but only when you are really close (less than 3 feet). I really like the look, reminds me of an ipod. I have yet to make prints but on my computer they look pretty good. Good price, nice package, bonus Mp3 player (would not suggest this for an everyday, stand alone MP3 player), decent pic quality, im happy.

  2. I found this camera on clearance for $49 at WalMart, and I bought it for my daughter. No, it's not perfect, but I think it's an excellent camera for $49! Would I suggest paying full list price? No. As other reviews said, the flash has issues. But if you can buy this item for under $50, I say go for it! My daughter loved it!

  3. Only reason I got this camera really was because of its great rechargeable lithium polymer battery. No more buying batteries for my camera, and it has longer battery life. Also, I only paid 49.99 for this camera at wal-mart.

  4. I bought this a year ago. It sucks. I cant take any pictures inside even with bright light. It looks like I'm in a cave. It was cheap for a reason. Do not buy this camera. I cant even get the mp3 function to work.

  5. I paid $140 online, cudnt get the MP3 to work, the photos outside wer OK didnt try any inside, I got it for my wife but sent it back right away an got her a full featured 4 MP Kodak for $90

  1. I was a little weary buying this camera after reading that guys review below, but I bought the camera anyways just because I figured if it was that bad I could return it. When I opened the package, the camera was WAY smaller than I expected it's very compact and pretty. As far as blurry images go, I think there are some people who just take bad pictures- because I tested out a picture while shaking the camera and it still came out clear as any of my other pictures-no blurring. I don't believe this Olympus suffers from "shutter lag" it's top speed 1/2000 is just as fast as any other camera on the market of comparable value. I think this camera is a great deal.
    Pros:
1.Wide variety of picture taking options- Panoramic view included
2.Docking station to recharge battery- never have to take out AA batteries and recharge(i find a hassle)
3.extremely easy to transfer photos to comp- just plug usb in and device is recognized
4.great for an unexperienced camera user or someone who wants more depth and can navigate the features (i did all without even looking at manual once)
5.awesome camera at great price-and it looks really sweet

    Cons:
1.Does not come with memory card-however most cameras don't. i bought a 128 mb xd pretty cheap and holds 100+ photos
2.Doesn't have a carrying case included, but those are pretty available and inexpensive as well

Overall I got this camera because I was sick of buying disposables and getting the film developed, over time the cost adds up, and this camera is not only very portable but takes great pics. I recommend it to others!

  2. SHUTTER LAG TO SOME CAN BE A TURN OFF BUT TO ME THE SHUTTER PROBLEM IS SOMETHING I ACCTUALLY ENJOY ITS THE PICTURES MY FREINDS GO WOW THATS A COOL PICTURE I LIVE A NOW BIG CITY CALLED SEATTLE YOU MAY HAVE HEARD OF IT BY NOW ANYWAY CITY SHOTS WITH SHUTTER LAG (WITH OR WITHOUT THE JITTERS) CAN LOOK WAY COOL AND THIS TAKES SOME GREAT PICTURES MOST OF THE TIME WITH VIDEO AND A BUILT IN SPEAKER THIS KEPT ON MAKIN IT MAKE LIKE IT MORE TO NOW IM IN LOVE I CARRY IT EVERYWHERE AS FOR PEOPLE BUMMED BY IT NOT COMING WITH A MEMEORY CARD I SAY SO WHAT GO BUY ONE ON SALE SOMEWHERE I GOT 1 GB FOR 40.00 AT A LOCAL STORE AND WITH ITS SMALL SIZE YOU CAN USE A CIGAREETE BOX TO TIDE YOU OVER TILL YOU FIND SOME THING MORE PERMANENT AS FOR ME I USE A 99 CENT BELT HOOK AND DONT EVEN HAVE A SCRATCH ON THE SCREEN AND IM SURE ITS RUBBED UP AGAINST THAT NIPPLE ON THE LEVIS JEANS BY THE POCKET HUNDREDS OF TIMES I USE IT MORE THAN MY 500 DOLLAR DVD CAM CORDER. A I GB MEMORY CARD GIVES YOU 50 MINUTES OF VIDEO 35 PLUS HOURS OF VOICE RECORDING 833; 5.0 MEGAPIXELS PICTURES BUT I WILL TELL YOU THE BATTERY THEY GIVE YOU CANT HANG WITH THE 1 GB MEMORY CARD SO YOULL NEED TWO AND I WOULDNT BOTHER TRYING TO BY ONE FROM THE OLYMPUS WEB SITE CAUSE THEY HAVE BEEN OUT OF STOCK FOR MONTHS THEY DO HAVE EM IF YOU COMBINE YOURE ORDER WITH ANOTHER ITEM SO I DONT KNOW WHAT THERE PROBLEM IS THERE ALSO THEY SENT ME A E MAIL FOR MY BIRTHDAY IT WAS FOR A MEMORY CARD USB READER FOR 20 BUCKS I FIGURED IT WAS MY BIRTHDAY SO ILL GET ONE BUT THEY DIDNT HAVE ANY IN STOCK WITH NO CHANCE OF PAYING FOR ONE TO GET ON BACK ORDER. I SCOFFED AND COUNTINUED ON WITH LIFE AND MY LIL IR-300 STRAPPED TO ME AT ALL TIMES. YOU CAN BUY A REMOTE FOR IT ON THERE WEB SITE THOUGH AND THOSE ARE STILL AVAILABLE SOMEHOW ANYWAY ITS A GREAT CAMERA WITH A SMALL PRICE AND SIZE THAT IM SURE YOULL BE HAPPY WITH GUARENTEED.

  3. The camera is small and attractive. The daylight pictures are great, as they are with all Olympus cameras. Flash pictures are lame unless you are within 8 feet of the subject. It comes with many pre-settings but most are useless without a tripod. The built-in lithium ion battery lasts FOREVER, which helps offset the fact you have to charge it in its own little cradle. Downloading pictures to your computer is a little annoying-- it wants you to use the Olympus Master software that comes with the camera. But, once you attach it using the USB cable, the computer treats it like another external drive and you can just pluck the pix off that way. Finally, shutter lag is a major downside for me. It feels like a full 2 seconds. There's also a "movie" option-- it takes low-res movie, a feature I personally could do without. But overall, no complaints about picture quality, which is the bottom line, isn't it?

  4. I think it's a nice little camera for the price. Takes pretty good pictures both indoor and outdoor. Movies are good only if recorded outdoors in the sunlight, also high quality sound recording. My only concern is the plastic body of the camera which I didn't realize it was plastic untill I received it, which makes the camera kind of fragile and not very practical - gotta be very careful with it especially if it's in your pocket. But so far I've been happy with it as my party going or taking around everyday camera.

  5. This is the second time I have bought this camera. I bought the first time for me about 2 years ago.Found it to be perfect. Not one single complaint. Everyone notices how nice it looks and even better how easy it is to use. So, I bought my mother one. The fact that she can use it and love it is a blessing.

  1. I've owned this camera for 18 months now. Almost immediately, I noticed small, translucent spots on some pictures taken in certain lighting conditions. I looked at the lens under magnification (40x) and saw foreign matter on the inside of the lens. I contacted Fujifilm who told me to send it to them (prepaid of course). I enclosed a note for the technician explaining the problem, however, when the camera was returned 4 weeks later, it was in the same condition as when I sent it in, except the exterior of the camera had been cleaned by the Fujifilm technician. When I called Fujifilm about this, the supervisor told me these spots are a common occurance. He claims the lens is SO good, it will actually "see" dust on the exterior of the lens. He also told me it is impossible for dust or other foreign matter to be on the inside of the lens. I have a camera and dozens of pictures which disprove this "claim." The camera is ok for a point and shoot, but the warranty is worthless.

  2. I've been very pleased with this small and inexpensive digital camera. It's been a good one with which to learn about digital photography. Realiable quality for family photos. Eats batteries at an alarming rate, so get an AC adapter.

  3. This is an easy to use camera that you can beat the crap out of. I thought that i had lost my first one and i missed it so much i bought a second... well the first one showed up again and now i loan them both out to my high school kids for website projects. I used this camera in asia and central america and beat the heck out of it knowing i had another at home. Over the last three years I have used this camera in the rain dropped it several times and never once put it in a protective case. It still works great and my kids are still punishing both of them. with a 128MB smart media disk i can hold about 1,000 picures (on lowest quality) before i need to download.

  4. Guys, you can't expect from this camera some super cool things because it is basic 2.1 Mp camera but this is VERY RELIABLE and decent simple camera that has traveled with me ALL ACROSS THE WORLD and never put me down! It takes regular AA batteries and the simple optics provide unexpectedly GOOD pictures. Avoid back lighting and unusual conditions and you will be Ok. I suspect that for the price it it perfect light little camera.

  5. I have enjoyed this camera since my MIL got it for us in 2001. But now it's starting to show it's age, and after countless uses and trip and kids we are finally needing a new one. But I like this one for "beat up" purposes. It still works ok. It captures the dust in the air in pictures and light reflects on it, but if you don't use the flash, all the pics are blurry. Good now inexperienced photographers, and to post online... but not to good quality for printing out pictures.

  1. I've using it for half a year now. I bought it because I had a m300 for 5 years and it still works fine. I just wanted more pixels.
This thing did not disappoint me and with its 5* optical zoom I'm truly satisfied. Also some of the sceneries (documents, cuisine) have been useful for a non-professional like me.
The only thing I hate about it is the sound it makes when you're holding it. It sounds like it's gonna take a shot, but it makes me feel its gonna die.

  2. Excellent camera for the money. Excellent pictures. The only complaint I would have is it is frustrating to figure out at first- operational directions need to be SIMPLFIED- camera does alot-but you have to THINK so hard to operate it- initially.
    Overall-
    this is a GREAT BUY

  3. The camera broke shortly after we purchased it. When we sent it in for repair we were told that our warranty was void because the camera had been dropped. The camera had not been dropped! So, not only was this camera a waste of money, so was the extended warranty because once Olympus voided the manufacturer's warranty the other was no good either. What a waste of money!

  4. This Olympus camera that i bought is perfect, it's just what I wanted. I was a little worried that it might be to big or to thick but it wasn't, it's just what I was looking for!!! The perfect size, not too big and not too small, just perfect.

  5. The view screen is almost impossible to see in bright sunlight. All you can do is guess and hope that you framed the subject well.

It has a very hard time focusing under normal conditions, (daytime, outdoors.) Sometimes after the second or third try on the same subject the focus will improve, but not always. It does quite well in macro mode, though...

After I had been using the camera six months or so it developed a new problem where anything dark would come out a weird green and lack detail. Makes most pictures worthless.

I had an Olympus before that I liked a lot, but this one is awful.
