2 comments about Canon SureShot 60 Zoom 35mm Camera.
- I got this when I was looking for a low-end zoom camera some three years ago and it's still in great condition, even after having dropped it several times (not recommended!). In fact, the most recent time I dropped it and the zoom stopped working, only to work again a couple of days later!
Beyond being very durable - probably related to its boxy design (the Volvo of cameras?) - the zoom is actually helpful, even if it only has 4 settings (38, 45, 52, & 60) and the LCD displays the number of pictures taken plus the strength of the battery (what else do you really need?). The camera has the five requisite settings: auto, auto with red-eye, with flash, without flash, and self-timer. The second flash to compensate for the red-eye does a wonderful job - I have had several portraits at close range with little to no red eye effect. Other normal features include a tripod whole plus a manual rewind button on the bottom plus a view to the film canister on the back in case you forget what type of film you put in the camera. It's basically all you need in a compact zoom camera for a low price, plus did I mention it takes great pictures? Too bad it's out of stock.
- I love this camera b/c it take good pics and you don't have to rewind it or mess with any bad film out of it b/c there won't be any messed up film. Like the camera i had before it messed up so many of my film that it was a waste of money but this one i love. for the money it is great.

- I LOVE MY NEW CAMERA BUT I AM HAVING A LOT OF TROUBLE TRYING TO FIND WHERE TO BUY THE 80-300 ZOOM LENS WOULD YOU PLEASE SEE IF YOU CAN HELP ME.!
- I've had this camera since 1997 and I love it. It has some cool features, you can be fully auto or fully manual. I have a 75-300mm USM zoom along with the 28-80mm USM that came with it. I kind of wish I'd have paid the extra [...] and gotten the IIe, but I still get great shots. It's not too heavy, focus is quick and quiet, exposure is pretty accurate. I haven't had any problems with it.
- I found this camera used in a store, and it looked like a pretty good deal, so I called my uncle (a camera brainiac, and a very good photographer) and he said it was a great deal, so I bought it. That's all I thought I was getting; a good deal on a used camera. It's so much more than that. I have actually done some really stupid things when taking pictures (setting the aperture and shutter speeds in such a way that the picture would be ruined is my most common offense) and the picture always comes out perfect. It's actually difficult to take a bad picture with this camera! The Elan II is a very nice camera that is simple enough for beginners, but at the same time, advanced enough for professionals. Taking good pictures is a snap, and most of the controls are self-explanitory and easy to understand. I have never had a problem with this wonderfully engineered camera, and I feel confident that, wether you're a regular pro, or a regular joe, you'll find this camera easy, and fun to use.
- I love my Elan II E. Unfortunately, I broke it in Italy this year. It lasted many thousands of shots over 9 1/2 years. The part which broke was the door clasp. Keep in mind, it lasted nearly a decade! I'm going to buy the Canon 7NE to replace it. Love the system!
- The Elan IIe is truly a camera for everyone. I bought mine with internship money in 1994, and I still have it today. It survived the rains in Siena a couple of years ago, and even a 5 foot drop in a canoe back in 1999. It's grown up with me, and as I learn more about taking pictures, I've been able to rely less on the auto-metering, and auto exposure settings, and take total control like the big boys. What can
I say, I love this camera! It lets you go from no-know to semi-pro in a snap!

5 comments about Canon EOS IX Lite APS SLR Camera w/ 22-55mm Lens.
- This camera has all the functionality of other Canon cameras, but is smaller, and has the APS capability. I have no complaints whatsoever and am completely satisfied!!!
- ...I have the choice of all the Canon EOS lenses to use and 2700 dpi images for use in digital photography in combination with a Canon film scanner. The only draw back is that the film must be developed first.
The film scanner can make digital images that can be written to an inexpensive CD. The images are magazine quality. You can scan an entire roll of film in less than five minutes and write them with a high speed CD/RW in another five minutes. The APS format dramatically saves scanning time. Also, I would suggest using an upgraded flash that is specifically designed to work with this unit. Have fun.
- I'm not quite sure what Bargain Bob is talking about, but he describes thin unit (and a film scanner) as the poor mans digital camera. With the price of the camera plus the scanner, you could purchase a very nice didgtal camera, so don't fall into that trap. If you want film, buy a film camera, if you want digital, but a digital camera...don't just get a scanner.
- Bought a EOS IX lite originally - had lousy pictures - was going to give up on the APS system - but then saw on EBAY the EOS IX ( not lite )and gave that a try - WOW! the difference is incredible. The pictures were sharp and clear - my advice is to NOT buy the EOS IX lite but rather find an old EOS IX - you will not be sorry.
- This camera is one of my all time favorites!
Even though I am well into the digital revolution I can't
bring myself to sell this camera. Rarely use it now but for years
it delivered very good images.
The best qualities of this camera are the ability to use the panaramic
format and the speed and ease of operation. There were many shots
that I captured because this could be implemented immediately and easily when surprised by interesting subject matter.
The negitive is small but when processed via Kodak includes very specific information allowing for development of the picture that is remarkably similiar to what you actually observed at the time of capture.
Full rich color and sharp pictures made this camera a joy to use.
Boy weren't those simpler times!

5 comments about Canon Sure Shot Snappy QT Date 35mm Camera.
- Canon Snappy, that about says it all.I first borrowed this camera from a friend to use on a vaction and ever since i fell in love with it.When your on the go you don't have time to fumble around with all the gadgets,Canon Snappy makes taking crystal clear pictures on the go a breeze.
- I have owned the Canon Snappy for several years, being in my possession at all times. Last year, I entered one of the photographs I snapped with this camera and it won an International photo contest. The photo was published in an anthology. For the photo, I used black and white film and the results was awesome even then! I cannot say enough about this small miracle of a camera. I own one of the bulky, expensive, hard-to-focus cameras, (especially if you are having problems with your vision), but this one is ready when you are. No guesswork on settings, easy to handle and lightweight for your carrying pleasure. The quality of the photos are superior to many I have taken with other cameras. I would recommend this camera to anyone wondering what to buy for a reasonable price and wanting a professional looking photograph, especially when your treasured moments are ready to be captured!!Your photographs could be award winners too, with this camera!!
- I felt cheated when I got my pictures from the one-hour photo shop. The pictures are bad. Images are not cleared. The flash light is not auto. I have to return it to spend more money to buy a better one. I hate this cheap camera.
- The camera in general is not bad and in fact affordable, very useful features, but quality of pictures is not too exciting. Works just fine. Pictures made at night are not good.
- My roommate took this camera with her to Chicago. Many of the photos were not impressive, and some were flat out blurry. It was a dissapointment, and frustrating that four rolls of film were just not quite right. This camera will be added to the garage sale pile this summer. I'm looking for another point and shoot...

5 comments about Canon EOS ELAN II 35mm SLR Camera Kit w/ 28-80mm Lens.
- After looking long and good at all camera brands and models, I found a great deal on the Elan II. This camera has it all. The aluminum body makes it strong and durable. It's a little on the heavy side--but that makes it less wobbly when you take the picture. All modes are there plus more-you can do everything from manual exposures to fully auto to blurry backgrounds. If you can push it a little and pay for the Elan II, I would buy it. It is much superior to the Rebels, even more than the Rebel 2000. THIS CAMERA IS AWESOME!!! 5 STARS PLUS RATING!!!
- I've had my Canon EOS Elan II for almost seven years and though my technique has advanced, this camera is still home to me. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for improved technology -- digital cameras, memory cards, photo quality printers, etc should not be ignored. But nothing beats a 35mm SLR, especially with this kind of setup. What's so great about the Canon EOS is that it gives the photographer the power of choice. Unlike simple point-and-shoots, the Elan II offers the option between automatic and manual exposure settings (or even somewere in between) to ultimately empower the photographer to gauge how much creative/technical input he/she wants in his photographs. In addition, features like focus lock, bracketing, depth of field control, dual exposure for creative superimposed images, almost seem like welcome icing on the proverbial cake.
Abuse is the order of the day with my camera, and I'm happy to say that my Canon has held steadfast in this regard too. Durability is not a problem here. If you're thinking seriously about taking better photographs, you can't go wrong with this one. It's well worth the investment.
- I have had this camera (coupled with a Sigma 28-105 lens) for about a year and a half now. This camera has allowed me to explore techniques in photography that you just don't get with other models. It comes with more features than you can shake a stick at! The price listed here too is awesome. I got mine for ... without the lens.
The picture quality is excellent. The quality and sharpness of your photos may vary based on your ability and the lens you attach to it, but rest assured that if you know how to tell the camera to take a good picture, it won't let you down.
- I've owned this camera for three years and have yet to had any problems with it and it's quality never ceases to amaze me. I highly recommend this camera to amateur-professional photographers. Whether you are new to the photography world or a seasoned photographer this camera allows for versatility, capatablity, and most of all, convenience. Functions as a simple automatic camera to complex fully manual camera w/lots of extra features for creative photographers!
- I got this camera second-hand from my Dad. It was my first SLR camera, but I learned on it and all my lenses and accessories are compatible with Canon's newer DSLR's like the 20D and the upcoming 30D, which I plan to get to use side-by-side with my Elan IIe. The controls are even similar, which will make the learning curve minimal to get started with the digital. Autofocus is nearly flawless, exposure meter is very good too. The only complaint I have is the flash -there's a flash button on the top of the camera and I have no idea what it does. There's no fill flash (annoying), and you simply can't control whether or not the flash is used in certain modes (like macro and portrait). I understand the logic behind it to a degree, but I'd really like the ability to control the flash :P

5 comments about Canon ELPH LT APS Camera.
- This is a tiny camera (a good-sized guy could hide it in the palm of his hand.) But the small size doesn't mean the Elph is a toy. No, indeed.
The sharpness on the pictures is amazing considering that the negatives are smaller than 35mm and that this is not an expensive piece of optical equipment. (We used to speculate that Canon made the optics better on APS cameras to showcase the APS format in the best light.) You can have some fun--one special feature is that you can take 3 different sizes of photos (regular sized, large sized and panorama sized) on the same roll of film. Switch a lever on the back and go from a portrait to capturing the beauty of a mountain vista or a busy plaza. For a "keep it in your pocket at all times" camera, this can't be beat.
- i bought this camera right before a trip, and was a little nervous using a new camera. i was not disappointed, every picture came out crisp and clear. the size is great, so small you can easily put it in your pocket. the different settings are good too, especially the panoramic. film, batteries and developing may be a wee bit more, but it is definitely worth it. i've owned more expensive cameras that did not take pictures this well.
- Even for people on a low budget this season, this is a great, fun, easy-to-use gift.
I have owned one of these for almost 2 years now, and have found many ways to get exactly the picture I want. With three photo sizes that change in the viewer, one is always guaranteed to know approximately how thier photo will turn out. Though not particularly inexpenxive, the APS film system is reasonable, and the pictures turn out great! For a younger, or older, aspiring photographer, this is the camera to start with!
- Like a lot of the other reviewers have said, this camera takes great pictures! Clear and crisp! And I'm the kinda person that takes pictures hanging out the car window and on the back of a 4 wheeler. It's as if I was standing still! It's so nice to be able to capture a panoramic picture whenever you want, and be able to switch back to regular sized photos with the touch of a button. And all on the same roll of film. So easy. I would highly recommend this camera! And with such a low price, you cant go wrong.
- I took this camera to Paris, my first time there, some of the photos were great and the others were awful. It could be user error since I am not very good with cameras. I recently purchased my first digital camera, a panasonic. Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ3S 7.2MP Digital Camera with 10x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom (Silver) I love it and it is easy to use. I would not choose this camera unless you are very mechanically inclined.

5 comments about Canon Rebel T2 35mm SLR Camera (Body Only).
- Plain and simple, I LOVE THIS CAMERA!!!
I had always wanted to own a 35 mm camera, and I had always been impressed by Canon cameras, so, I bought the T2. LOVE IT!!! LOVE IT!!! LOVE IT!!!
Great pictures, ease of operation, price was great (and because Digital is cost-prohibitive right now, this film camera was perfect!!!), and, I got it in less than 1 week! Great camera, great shipping time, great price.
I'm pleased!
- I am very pleased with this camera. I am taking my first real photography class and this camera is perfect for such a class and for taking photos once I've finished the semester. I don't have to spend precious time trying to figure out which knob to turn or button to push. A quick read of the manual lets you know the basic functions and the camera really does a lot of the brain-work. The manual mode lets me fool around with things to get certain moods or feelings and the pictures are turning out great. A lot of the students are having a hard time reading their cameras' meters, but this camera's meter is really simple to read and very easy to see. The price was great and the quality is fantastic!
- so i was in a pickle when trying to decide buying new lenses for my old canon ae-1 or just buying this so i can use all my digital lenses (EF canon lenses and Di tamron lenses) and my bounceable flash...i chose the latter and have not been disappointed. i got the date body so i could also use my little remote. it has the look and feel of my rebel xti. i also bought the battery grip which adds functionality and a certain "cool factor" to it. thing is, the grip doesn't have the exposure adjustment wheel/button, just the exposure button. but i'll knock down the battery grip's rating (also purchased on amazon), not the t2's rating.
i was originally looking at the rebel k2, but after testing one out at the local camera shop, i decided to spend a few more bucks to get the t2. the k2 felt a bit "cheap" and it didn't have a few things i find important in a camera such as the DOF preview button and a built-in viewfinder diaptor adjustment.
since the camera's newer, it was nice not having to advance the film after every shot. but then again, that can be found on any of the newer cameras. it's just a nice perk since i was 'upgrading' from an ae-1.
i'm using this camera for school since they're still teaching the film process. i'm satisfied with the camera. this, coupled with canon's nifty fifty f/1.8 is a great setup! get it now! :)
- My daughter rated this product as four stars. She just started photography classes at her school. I think it is a good camera for the beginning photographer.
- Nice camera but it seems to take mirrored images. in other words the pics it takes are reversed. ????

4 comments about Canon EOS Elan 7ne SLR Camera (Body Only).
- Okay, first off, I'd like to say that this is my first AF SLR--I stepped up from my dinosaur of a camera, Canon AE-1 manual focus, and right now I am quite overwhelmed by all the features in this little thing. I'm still in the learning stages of all this technology but let me tell you this, I am having fun! It amazes me that Canon can offer quite an impressive camera for the price.
I just received my first few rolls from the developer and the pictures came out amazing--so clear and the colors are very vibrant. Just to let you know, I'm using the 28-105mm f/3.5-4.5 USM lens. I took the suggestions of many and passed up on the "kit" lens and I'm sure glad I did so. I would highly recommend the f/3.5-4.5 lens, but unfortunately for the rest of you, Amazon has discontinued it. But you could order it from one of the many other photo shops (B&H, Adorama, etc).
Do I have any regrets on this purchase? Absolutely not! I love this camera and even though I've owned it for less than a month, I'm actually thinking about stepping up to the EOS 3 and using this as a backpacking/hiking body. Hmm...what to do, what to do? Do I purchase another body or start a collection of L-series glass? ...that is the question.
- I am enjoying my new Canon EOS Elan. I find it comfortable to hold and easy to use. I have not yet had the opportunity to try out all the features, but the few films I have exposed in auto mode and had developed satisfy my needs at this point. The rewind mechanism is VERY quiet which is nice if you plan to use the camera at a public event.
- I bought this camera in 2002 (when it was the Elan 7e), the only difference is body texture, lit display, and a slightly faster autofocuser. The camera works great and the pictures are great. It takes 4 fps. I don't use this camera anymore since going digital with my EOS 40D but if I would recommend a film camera at a good price, this would be the camera. If you still use film, this is a camera that is hard to beat at the price.
- I picked up EOS Elan 7NE a few days ago (since it is not available at Amazon I had to order elsewhere), after I noticed that 35mm film cameras in advanced hobbyist/enthusiast range are getting rare, and I'm a dedicated film shooter. I plan using Elan alongside my trusty AE-1's; I just wanted something more modern, with AF etc and what won't brake the bank. 7NE definitely fits the bill; I ordered this body with EF 28mm-105mm f3.5-4.5 II USM lens which is supposed to be significantly better then entry-level 28mm-90mm that comes with available Elan kits at better online camera stores.
Camera is feature-packed; luckily the 100-page small booklet manual is well written and consistent in giving enough info to get you going. I'd like to add that the camera is somewhat bigger then I thought (I'll try to upload a shot of 7NE and AE-1 side by side for size comparison), however size shouldn't be a drawback. Overall it feels solid and is easy to hold, controls are well laid out, and I have overall a good feel about it. I shot a test roll of B&W PlusX with it the other day and it came out decent even on full-auto mode. I also tried the eye-controlled focus, and yes it works as advertised.
BTW, there is large variety of used Elan and EOS bodies available for low prices on auction site, however I wanted to get a spankin new 100% functional & dent-free camera so there wouldn't be any surprises; since the 7NE body is so affordable, why not to buy brand new.
