5 comments about Polaroid Spectra 1200SI Instant Camera Kit.
- The Polaroid Spectra 1200si, using the bright Spectra film, produces superb photos in almost any circumstance. The camera focuses automatically, beeping if you are too close to your subject, and adjusts to various lighting conditions.
The timer feature is simple to use, giving off a very helpful insistent beeping as the picture is about to be taken - rather than taking a photo of you telling your family the camera's about to take a picture, it takes a photo of everyone paying attention to the beeping Spectra. If all of this beeping is too much to bear, you can set the camera to a silent mode. I use a variety of Polaroid and Minolta APS cameras for art and family photos. When I need a reliably good picture right away, I reach for the Spectra and am rarely disappointed. Polaroid, by the way, is an extremely responsive company with great technical assistance and customer service.
- I'm a Great Grandmother who finds this camera very easy to use. Big improvement over the first Poloroid instant camera which I owned. When I bought this Sprecta 1200si there was a camera case on the same page which I also bought. However, it didn't fit this camera! I would like to know where I can buy one!
- great! We used it at our wedding for the guest book and I was so happily surprised how great they all came out! Some of the best pictures we have are from this camera!
- i first bought this as a present for a friend of mine. After i took a few pictures with it,i was honestly very impressed! The picture quality was very good, not great.
The camera was slightly big and in a little bit of an odd shape to hold, but i didnt mind that too much. Id recommend this camera, but not if your looking for excellent picture quality. Its still a fun camera and really convientant how you dont need to have it developed!
- I've had a great time with this camera. The built in sonic distance finder and sensor array produces good quality photos. Yes, the film is expensive, but the power to produce a single, memorable photo is very enticing. Not all people want to send copies of their photographs to everyone they know. To have a single, unique photo is in some way special. No, it's not for everyone, but I do enjoy this camera as a compliment to my digital camera.
As for the camera itself, it is of high quality and precision, rubberized in case you drop it, and reliable and fun. If you're looking for the best of a dying breed, purchase this camera.

- excellent value product
focusing is easy and precise, good enough to use noctilux at close distances.what more can you ask for $200? useable without viewfinders
- This camera has a fatal flaw. I bought mine from Photo Arsenal. They knowingly sent it to me with the internal mirror floating loosely inside the camera's finder. Without that mirror in its proper place, it's impossible to focus. Photo Arsenal said it must have been damaged by DHL's transit and to file a claim with them. Anyone who's ever tried to file a claim with DHL, FED EX, UPS etc... knows that it's an uphill battle to get any compensation. The camera cost $1045.00. It's going to cost $200 to get it repaired by Stephen Gandy. Needless to say, I got ripped off. Regardless, I just wanted to point out this camera's weakness. I've read of others having this same problem. I should point out that mine is the limited anniversary edition, hence the higher price. Regardless of that, it's not a Leica M3!

1 comments about Leica M7 0.72 35mm Rangefinder Camera body black with 0.72 viewfinder magnification u.s.a. #10503.
- Leica waited a long time before releasing this camera two years ago; the M7 is its most feature-laden rangefinder camera to date. I believe that it is the best Leica M rangefinder ever made (with my apologies to Leica M3, M2, and M4 purists) since it features an electronically-controlled shutter (the most accurate for a M rangefinder camera), aperture-priority automation which are features long-overdue on a Leica M series rangefinder. The shutter is the quietest I've heard on a Leica M rangefinder. Unfortunately, the Leica M7, unlike the Leica MP, its all-mechanical brethren, is virtually dead except for two shutter speeds when your batteries die out. And yet despite this inconvenience, the Leica M7 is still the best handling Leica M rangefinder camera I've come across. This black chrome edition of the Leica M7 is the one preferred by professional and advanced amateur photographers interested in not advertizing their camera as they photograph their subjects.
Is the Leica M7 a 35mm camera for everyone? Of course the answer is no, since a rangefinder camera, unlike a single lens reflex (SLR) camera, has a very limited range of lenses. It is superb with wide angle and normal lenses since it is often easier to focus with a rangefinder than a SLR, and can be as fast, if not faster, than the latest autofocus SLRs. The Leica truly excels as the ideal tool for discrete documentary photography, producing what the late Henri Cartier-Bresson referred to as the "decisive moment" photograph. So if you care deeply about making great documentary photography images, then perhaps either the Leica M7 or MP should be your camera.
