  1. I needed a manual camera for my photography class. So I read other people's reviews and purchased this camera;it has been wonder-full. It is very good for a beginner like me to use and I have taken some great photos with it. I am enjoying it very much. One thing I was unclear on was that it had a "camera case" I thought that meant a bag that I could put other stuff besides my camera in; the case it comes in justs covers the camera. I just think it was a little unclear to an amature, but it has not been a problem. Thanks for the great camera I will come to this store for any other needs I have!

  2. I really like this camera. The instruction manual is very informative and helped me to figure out how to use the camera to take very nice photos, and they only got better when i started taking a course and using the camera.

  3. This is a great manual film camera for someone who wants to start in photography. I love this camera and would recommend to anyone. Very tough camera

  4. This is the same basic 35mm camera students have been starting with (and often using forever) for ages. It works great. Everything is manual, but it does have a light meter. It uses readily available Nikon lenses. There really is nothing negative you can say about this. I started using the Pentax version of this in teh 70's and the only difference was that this Nikon replaces some of the metal parts with plastic, but I haven't noticed any difference.

We have been using this for about six years now and are very happy with it. The only problem is finding places that will develop film.

  5. Great camera for college photography class. Can be expanded for other uses after taking your class. Just remember it's old school.

  1. ..(unless I left the pictures to SIT to long, without developing...for a long while.)

I don't know how long that actually takes but it's kinda long.

If you need more information, the cameras tend to have the expiration date RIGHT ON THEM.

    OK, Shelly?

    4.5 stars (for two).
    4.25 (for the one).

end note: this has one. (Lol)

  2. I used this brand of "disposable," single use camera recently and the pictures came out fairly well. Oh, sure, the quality of the pictures won't be 100% as good as the pictures you would get from a digital camera or a standard, more expensive 35 mm camera. Actually, the pictures these Fuji cameras take are even slightly grainier than the Kodak single use cameras. Sigh.

However, the camera is very lightweight so you can carry several at a time in a bag as you travel. I especially like the built in flash that is easy to use. The flash range is about 10 feet.

The camera is a single use camera; this means that after you use it you take the entire camera to the place where you can get film developed; they will take care of the rest. No worrying about whether or not you removed the roll of film negatives correctly without exposing them to too much light. I love that! The film speed is 400, so keep that in mind when choosing this camera. A faster speed such as 800 may be preferable.

Overall, this is a good single use camera for countless people who like to travel light or who are on a budget. It is very compact and easy to carry; keep one in the glove compartment of your car just in case there's an accident and you need to take pictures of the scene. The camera is also affordable. I give it three and ½ stars instead of five simply because the picture quality just isn't the best.

  3. I bought two disposable cameras and used both at an important event (my father's 70th birthday party). The film on one roll had been exposed and all the shots came out too light to be developed. On the other roll, used at the same time in the same venue, all the shots were too dark to be seen.

  1. I purchased this camera in July of 2008 after a long bout of curiosity. I had used several other small, plastic cameras in my lifetime but never the "vaunted" LOMO L-CA+. Well, now I wish I never had. I shot two rolls of Fuji Velvia with this camera and 95% of the shots looked totally unexposed (not underexposed but literally unexposed.)

I really do not know what happened. The film was from a box of 20 that I had used successfully with other cameras for months. The film was also developed at the same pro lab here in NYC that successfully processed hundreds of rolls before these two with no hiccups. I set the correct ISO, confirmed that the batteries worked, and listened to the shutter actuations as I used the camera -- short and crisp in daylight, longer indoors, etc. I also confirmed that the film was advancing fine. If photons managed to penetrate the lens of this camera, the film itself sure didn't catch many of them.

Because I did not use the camera until several weeks after it arrived and then waited another week to take the rolls down to my lab, I am now outside of Amazon's 30-day return window. Goodbye $285!

  3. If you haven't had fun with film lately, pick one of these up and go out and start shooting. It takes any speed of film (up to 1600) and does a fantastic job of auto exposing it. Even if it's pitch black outside and snowing, as long as you have a tripod, just press that button down, and when it finally goes "click" you'll have a perfectly exposed shot. The zone focusing system takes a little getting used to, espically for us Yanks, since it's in meters, but just put a little piece of tape over it with the imperial equivalent, and you're golden.

  4. I absolutely do not regret buying my lc-a+ and recommend it to anyone wanting to try shooting a film camera. It goes with me everywhere and I take pictures of whatever catches my eye (it's a good idea to load up on cheap bulk film for this reason!). I've never been much for photography, but that's changed since purchasing the lc-a. I honestly find myself more aware of my surroundings, even when I don't have my camera with me. Some features not to be ignored: long exposures, multiple exposures, rear curtain flash (hotshoe!).

  5. I was really excited to get this camera. After opening it I knew I might be the victim of a great creative marketing campaign. The cool packaging gets you excited. The camera itself is awesome looking and feeling too. What I really liked about this camera over my holga was that it prevents you from taking a double-exposure unless you intended to and the ease of getting 35mm developed over holga's 120. But then I got my photos back from the lab.... and i knew at that instant i would be returning the camera. The only "affect" is that the pictures were lousy, some overexposed, most blurry. Maybe for $100 I would have kept it just for how fun it is to use and only for double exposures at that. But for $240 I'd rather buy a zillion rolls of film for my holga which offers the vignetting and dreaminess I expected in this camera.

  1. This combination of camera and back makes it difficult to get good exposures. I've wasted a great deal of prints and still am not happy with the results. I will, of course, try again but this shouldn't be so hard.

  2. If this was a cheap toy, I wouldn't judge it so harshly. But Lomography sells their Diana+ camera for about $45 then this back is about $75, so that's a $120 camera you're using. So even though it masquerades as a cheap toy, it is not that. And for $120, I expect to get decent prints most of the time. I'm not talking about great or exceptional prints. I'm talking about a print where you can identify what's in the picture. However, as the other reviewer stated, getting a such print is a rare event. Indoors, there's not enough light. Outdoors in sunlight, there's too much light. This leaves you with a rather narrow window for taking pictures, and even still, they might not turn out. When you take into account that the Instax film is about $1 per shot, you're wasting a lot of money. I cannot recommend that anyone buy this product.

  3. i just read Sonja's review and all can say is that she has missed the point of Lomography.
it is not about crisp sharp images but about style, imagination, and serendipity.

  4. This is super easy to use and put on your Diana camera. I went through about half a roll of the instant film trying to get the lighting just right which was lame since it's so expensive but it's so much fun to take the pictures and at a party it's a blast. I lost one photo forgetting to put on the lens piece so don't forget to actually follow the directions. In the end, it works really great and people love to have their picture taken with it.

  1. I've wanted a Polaroid for a long time, and this one was in very good condition and pretty cheap comparing to the hundreds I looked at on eBay. Delivery was pretty fast too. And even though the film included had been expired a couple of years, all the pictures I took with them still turned out great.

  2. I guess I'm the last person on earth to know that Polaroid has stopped making the One Step Camera and that there will be no more film made for those of us who have Polaroid One Step cameras. I did not buy from this vendor, but I do think that Amazon and/or sellers should let consumers know that there will no longer be film made for this camera--there is no compatible film made by anyone else--Polaroid One-Step 600 Instant Camerawhat's out there is the end of it. I will continue to buy from Amazon, but I am distressed that this information is not posted somewhere.

  3. I have not actually used it yet, (the film now costs a fortune) I am saving it for my 40th Birthday. However it arrived exactly as seller stated and I was impressed with the camera upon arrival. I will post more once I have used it.

  1. I gave this product one star because I had to give it some kind of rating to give this review. DON'T BUY THESE CAMERAS!!!! My two pack came and I shot all the film of my daughter and her new baby. These are pictures I cannot replace and the film was either too old or just ruined. Out of two cameras I got not one sinlge picture.

  4. I bought these to take on my trip in June to Tennessee, or I intended to. The seller didn't get them to me until I returned. I have taken some pictures with them around the house just to see how they worked and haven't had them developed yet.

  5. I purchased this 2-pack for a weekend retreat. I wanted an inexpensive camera to see if I wanted to get into landscape photography. These cameras were a good way to test out a new hobby. When I got my pictures back I was surprised at how well they turned out. The photos were very crisp and very clear. A few photos taken in the shadows of trees and shrubs seemed a tad murky, but the pictures taken in the bright sunlight were excellent.

I am taking another day trip to the great Oregon outdoors so I just purchased another 2-pack. This time I will order a CD of my photos. The photos were so good I am thinking of turning them into a calendar.

I highly recommend this camera for outdoor use. It is easy to use, lightweight and takes very good photos. The few pictures I took inside with the flash were okay, but not great.

My only complaint is about the advancement of the film. You have to turn the dial a long time before you hear a loud click that tells you the camera is ready. The instructions on this could have been clearer, but otherwise this camera is a very good choice for children and adults.

  1. These camera's are great for enthusiasts! I gifted my roomate this one for christmas (as I already own one, and she borrows it from time to time). We are both photo majors, and it's easy to get swept up in new technology. Sometimes its benificial to go back to your roots ;)

  2. The camera is fine. Amazon service sucks. I tried several times to cancel this order because I found it cheaper on another site, and although your website says I can cacel anytime prior to shipment, it kept me in the never ending loop without giving me the ability to actually cancel it. You SUCK!

  3. My main point in writing this review is that you can get this camera for much, much cheaper by buying it used or elsewhere.

The Holga is fun and I know many people who swear by it. While I personally have never been extremely into lomography/"plastic fantastic" cameras, if you are this is a good camera and the advantage of using medium format film is wonderful. Also there are scores of websites that will tell you all the ways you can modify your Holga. So have fun! But seriously, there's almost no reason why not to buy this item used. I would not pay more than $20 for it.

  4. I've been seriously into photography since 1999. I've had a few pictures published in magazines and I've even had some embassies buy my work. There are days when my photography feels like work and kind of stresses me out. Well I've found my little fix for days like that. The Holga camera's are perfect for fun photography. My best personal photo's have come from a Holga and it was all when I was just flipping away and not worrying too much about the composition of the shot or the exposure. The color flash adds another spin to an already fun camera. I love to use the flash in the daytime up close to my subjects (The blue flash on the beach gives an awesome feel to a photo).

My only complaint is the hassle of loading and unloading the film and the cheap feel to it, but then again it's a 'toy' camera so I guess that's part of the experince.

I recomend this (more so with the 35mm version) to anyone just looking to bring fun back into their photography.

  5. Customer Service is great, got the package as expected. Great company to work with!
