- Well, I just like the camera. It's got excellent looks. It's really compact and has great features.
- I just got this camera last night -- so far it seems very simple to operate. The features are many but the buttons are easy to understand. There's no lag when you snap the picture it takes right away. The timer has a 12 second delay and the other cameras I looked at only had 10. I haven't had the roll developed yet --but if the picture quality is as wonderful as this camera is to operate I've found a winner!
- I have owned this camera for several years now. It is my favorite camera, by far. I also own a much more expensive Nikon w/multiple lenses, but I rarely bother with it. The picture quality of my Olympus 105R is so good that I rarely need more. The camera looks good, is compact in the hand, and is easy to use. It also has a feature that I love - a lens cover that slides over when not in use, to protect the lens. I recently thought that the camera stopped working and was in need of repair. I kept being told that I should just buy a new camera and that this model was no longer being manufactured. I was distressed, as I love this camera! I then happily discovered that it was only the battery, and that the new battery that I had bought to replace it was bad as well. I am very pleased that my Olympus is up and running again. I have gotten my money's worth, many times over, from this great little camera!

- I have never owned a camera before this one but I have taken a lot of pictures with other cameras so I know a good camera. I did a lot research when I decided to finally buy my own camera. I chose this one based on it's not complex features. I wanted something that would take up a lot of my time to learn as I am a college student and need that time to study school work not how to work a camera. I got the camera about two weeks ago and I couldn't be happier with the results, these are some of the best pictures that I have ever taken. This is definatly a camera that is for the first time camera owner.
- The Olympus IS series cameras have always had an identity crisis. At first they were called "ZLRs" or "Zoom Lens Reflex." They have the internal making of an SLR (a mirror mechanism that shows you exactly what the lens is seeing), but lack the versatility of being able to change the lens.
I've owned or given as gifts a number of Olympus cameras - the OM10, the IS-2, the IS-10 and now the IS-50. To this day the IS-2 remains one of my favorite cameras, especially with its unbelievable macro ability that rivals cameras/lenses costing hundreds more.
The IS-50 is a good camera. It takes great photos, its exposure system is excellent, it's light weight, has a powerful flash, and its automated features will be a boon to novice users. However, there are still better choices available.
I bought the IS-50 for a young nephew who wanted something easy to use and to shoot sports. The IS-50 delivers on the first, fails completely on the second. This camera does not have a continuous advance and focus sports mode. You press the shutter release, take a shot, and then have to repeat.
As a semi-pro user I found the flash warning system on the IS-50 to be especially annoying. The average person can easily take a photo in low light situations with a shutter speed of 1/60th of a second. People with super steady hands can even go as low as 1/15th. Experienced photographers know that you want to use natural light as much as possible because the flash creates shadows and harsh skin tones. The IS-50, however, starts warning users to use a flash at around 1/100th of a second! This makes no sense.
Normally this wouldn't be such a big deal for a point and shoot. However, camera prices, especially on 35mm models, are falling and users are expecting some bang for their buck. For the same price of an IS-50 you can buy a used Nikon N50 or N65 - both of which offer versatility, ease of use and exapandability. Earlier IS models such as the IS-1, 2 and 3 all offered much of these features. Why not the IS-50? At the very least, the price should be lower given the value and low cost of novice SLR models such as the Nikon models or the Canon Rebel.
Even with all these criticisms, the IS-50 is still an OK choice for novice users. If you want simplicity and good 35mm photos this is one camera to look at. Just be aware that for the same price or a little bit more you can get a camera that's a lot better.
- The world has gone digital and yet Olympus produced one of the best 35mm cameras out there just as film cameras were becoming obsolete. It's a shame because this camera kicks [...], because it's simple to use, produces amazing shots and has a great zoom/lens, autofocus, battery life (beats any digital camera) and it feels great in my hand. I've taken many shots with it, including B&W shots, which are even greater than color shots. I've also taken tons of night shots, including auroras, which I never knew how to do before. This camera works especially well with Fuji film. I want to buy another one before they get rid of film cameras forever. Sad.
- I've had this for almost 2 years now. Picture quality varies with the auto focus function, however overall they come out good. It is definitely heavy and there other much lighter SLR's around. I've seen certain 35mm compact cameras that can compete with this camera in terms of picture quality. If you are lloking to buy a "true" SLR camera then you should probably choose something else. If you want a easy to use, good SLR type camera then this is a great buy.
- This camera takes quality pictures, but we did not find it to be very well constructed. The diopter (view finder adjustment) stopped working in the first 90 days, and the film advance mechanism failed about one year later. We take a lot of pictures, but do not treat the camera roughly. Even with the instructions, we were not able to make the "date-stamp" work correctly. My wife also had occassional trouble loading the film. The optics seem to be good, but overall we were un-impressed. We were able to get a full refund using an extended warranty offered through our credit card provider. We originally paid about $150 brand new.

- This camara was really fun to use and I had fun with it for a while. But unless you are living in a college dorm or somewhere else where you can use the pictures to do all the great stuff on the commercials,(Would anyone really do that anyway?)it is really no use. My camara also ran out of batteries very often, so all the pictures I took indoors, when the flash did not work, were ruined (plus the film is definetly not cheap). Don't get me wrong the camara is fun to use, but you need the right time to use it, or else you will end up with a pile of stickers sitting on the desk in your room, like me.

5 comments about Fujifilm QuickSnap Flash 800 35mm Single Use Camera with Flash.
- Fairly Easy to use, Photo's turned out Clear, Colorful both indoors and out. Apart from having a little trouble getting the Flash to Work it was fine.
- After trying several of the other brands of Single Use Cameras on the Market I thought blurry, washed out dull pics were the norm. However, after buying one of the Fuji Camera's on the spur of the moment I was very suprised by the excellent photos it produced. The Twin packs are a great idea as well!!
- I work in the photo processing world, I am a manager of a high volume photo lab and I must say that Fuji film has taken very large steps to over take Kodak in the film world. From their minilabs, to their digital kiosks, to their one time use 35mm cameras, Fuji film is the way to go. From truer colors, more real film grains, to the obvious less blur, this camera is a wise decision for a one time use camera.
- Recently I bought 2 One Time Use Cameras. The Kodak Max HQ Camera and a Fuji Quicksnap Flash Camera. After finishing both Camera's I had the Kodak Camera/Film Developed at a Kodak Express, then the Fuji Camera/Film developed at a Fuji Lab. The Results were very different to each other. The Fuji Quicksnap Flash is clearly the Superior Film/Camera. While the Kodak Prints came back slightly blurry with not much color, the Fuji Prints were Crystal Clear with exceptional Clarity and Bright Colors. The Fuji Camera was also cheaper than the Kodak HQ!
- Firstly let me just say, that I'm slightly confused as to all the different 35mm Fuji 'quicksnap' cameras out there. The 2 that I used were like the one shown here, but a slightly different color. Anyway, on to the review:
The Flash indicator took a while to light up, but we got it going after some persistance. The photos were ok, nothing great though. The results produced fairly natural looking colors, but many of the indoor/nightime shots were slightly blurry and grainy. Many photos appeared under-exposed, like the Flash wasn't bright enough. 3/5 stars.

4 comments about Canon Sure Shot A-1 Panorama Waterproof Camera (Includes Case, Battery and Neck Strap).
- Take all the advice you can about pre- and post-water care for these cameras, and in fact, read up on other models' tips, because even though I would rinse this camera carefully, its own manual is not as stringent about after-dive care. As a result, this, the very best water camera I had ever bought (I took it to 40 feet, no problem) totally and terminally punked out on a short snorkeling excursion due to leakage. And once it leaks, it's over. To its credit, it did rewind the already-shot film before it gave up the ghost, a truly valuable death-throe. So take GREAT care of it and you will never have reason to complain. It corrects for underwater optics and it also works well on land. It does like to turn itself on (the "on" dial is quite slippery) so keep tons of extra batteries (C123A, $$$) around. Takes delightful pictures; I would buy it again. And I have to because mine died.
- We purchased the camera to use on a snorkeling cruise. Sadly, the camera drifted away during one of our dives never to be seen again. Had the camera come with a wrist strap instead of a neck strap this would not have happened. Needless to say, I am very disappointed in this camera.
- I'm a former professional photographer who went through every technological innovation in imaging during a long career, from 4X5 press cameras to digital.
The Canon Sure Shot A-1 is one of my all time favorite cameras, out of dozens I have owned. It's incredibly rugged and easy to use in any situation. It has sloshed around in sea water in the bottom of a kayak and worked beautifully in sub-zero temperatures on ski slopes. The high-eyepoint viewfinder means it's easy to frame the image with one eye for the camera and the other for oncoming waves.
The lens is extremely sharp and the moderate wide-angle view makes it useful in all kinds of situations. If I had to carry just one camera to get me thorough any situation, this would be it and, in fact, that's exactly what I've done, many times.
- I used this camera for many years and received a lot of enjoyment from it. It took wonderful pictures and was very durable. It met its maker when it took a pretty hard whack from a boulder in a fast-moving river. I, unlike the other reviewer, could not get it to rewind that last roll of film. I definitely miss it! I'm looking to find something comparable in a digital model but it's proving to be quite difficult.
