- The imagery is magnificent, as always, for this calendar. I buy it every year and am truly impressed. Unfortunately with this past year's calendar, 2002, there was a mistake in the day numbering starting in July. My calendar is now always off one day for the remainder of the year. I hope this mistake is not replicated in 2003. Either way, I will buy it again!

1 comments about Prayer of Jabez 2002 Day-to-Day Calendar.
- I was given this book and it took me a while to pick it up and read it. When I did, I was hooked.
You can read the Prayer of Jabez in the Bible for yourself and it is Free. It is a one sentence prayer. I tried to understand it from just reading the Bible. It is only one sentence, right? The book is so much more than what you would think! This book really MAKES you think. The author pulls from the paragraph and prayer itself what will make you efectively change how you think and pray. I have done what he asks of you to do, as the reader, which is to pray the same prayer as Jabez every day. Then go back and read it once a week, for a month. It is easy to do because it is only 93 pages and it is such a positive, uplifting book. Well worth every penny you might spend and every second of your time.

- If you are interested in this calendar you are surly familiar with Gary Larson and his unique perspective. You'll get what you expect with this calendar and perhaps a bit more.
Here it is the middle of March and I have finally figgured it out. This is the death of The Far Side, every cartoon is about death. Sometimes there are dead bodies, sometimes characters are about to die. Todays just has a crocodile talking about how it eats little birds like popcorn. Fans of Larson know he is not a cartoonist that just reworks the same gag everyday. He is an artist that makes you look at the world in a new way. When a person reads a Far Side cartoon, don't expect them to laugh at first. You need to look at these cartoons for a while before they become funny. About the time I realized that all these cartoons were all morbid I realized that Gary had done it again. When there have been no new cartoons in, I don't know maybe 10 years, how can a new calendar be any different than the others? Why would a cartoonist let his final calendar have a morbid theme? Larson has never given people what they expect in a cartoon and he is still able to do that even with cartoons we have all seen before.
- As an avid fan of Larson's slightly off-center vision of the world, I felt compelled to buy a copy of last "Off-The-Wall" calander ever produced. The first week or so, the allegories were funny...timeless ends for unfortunate Larson creations. However, by the end of January, the calendar was really a lackluster version of previous years. The theme got real old, real fast! If you want classic Larson, buy one of the myriad collections of his artwork at the bookstore. If you want a laugh, buy Dr. Laura's calendar this year instead.
- This is hillarious, to keep and look at constantly. Highly recommened. Get it now - this is the last one there will ever be...

- The year 2002 has not been easy for me. Without going into specifics about the difficulties, I will just say that this calendar has had the same effect on me that the daily comic strip used to - it has given me a good laugh every morning and cheered me through difficult days. Thanks to this calendar, I can "pretend" that Gary Larson never retired. I'm still in therapy over the fact that this is the last edition to the "off-the-wall" franchise (just kidding). Seriously, I bought two copies of this calendar - one to read every day, and one to save for "old time's sake."
Anyway, I love this calendar and it is one of the highpoints of my day. I love this calendar because it gives me what all Larson products do - a look into a mad mad mind (I mean that in a good way) that will always give me a laugh. This is sardonic satire at its best! I love the detached and remote feel to all Larson's work. And I love the fact that if it weren't for just ONE thing wrong in the picture, everything would be normal. This lends the strip an air of credibility, you know, "It COULD happen . . . if only that weren't a COW cooking the bar-bee-que . . . if only that weren't a crocodile sitting in the livingroom . . . if only that weren't a sloth with the gun . . . etc." Everything is normal, except that ONE bizarre, unthinkable, and sometimes un-understandable element (I know I'm not the only one who has occasionally come across a Larson cartoon and wondered what the heck he was trying to say). The most bizzare (and funny) things in life are always the things that seem normal at first. THE COMPLETE FAR SIDE is also available.
- This years calendar seems to be a collection from Gary's reject bin. The majority of the days themes are death and dismemberment. In the first 7 days of January alone 6 of the 7 days deal with death. Maybe Gary is crying out for help. Its never too late to seek professional help Gary!

- This is a great calendar for Astronomy buffs. The pictures and images are great, accompanied by detailed explanations of what they depict. The calendar itself includes not just the expected references to various holidays, but also references to various astronomical and celestial events (meteor showers, etc.), both current and historical. Highly recommended!
- Glorious images that are a delight to see. Generous space on each day's block for notes. Good quality paper. We recycle the pages to wrap small items - striking giftwrap when the year's up.

- Larson is a genius, no doubt. He gave us great work. BUT I'm so sick and tired of seeing the same cartoons over and over and over again just packaged differently. Do we cartoon lovers look like idiots? If Larson is done doing cartoons, that's fine, BUT get NEW material in there.
I've seen other cartoonists who can fill this bill quite nicely. Dana Summers' Bound and Gagged is good. Put some of this stuff out. A new cartoon that I really like a lot, Reynolds Unwrapped by Dan Reynolds, is as good or better than The Far Side. Surely, your company can come up with some new material instead of selling us the same thing over and over.
- I have always enjoyed the Far Side cartoons and every year
purchased the wall calendar and Engagement book. Unfortunately, this year's engagement book is very disappointing. The cartoons are not amusing. In fact, I found the book as a whole to be very depressing. I will not use this calendar this year because it is such a "downer" and plan to buy a different engagement book.
- This is a classic Far Side delight. The calendar is a great gift for friends and family and for yourself. I highly recommend!
- Why doesn't the publisher get someone with new funny material instead of rehashing the same old Far Side toons. How many times can you listen to the same "toons" before your nerves are shot.
Please get someone with new material in there!... The bookstore humor section is the same over and over again. I want a single-panel cartoon like Speedbump, Reynolds Unwrapped, or Reality Check ...These are the 3 best cartoons on the market that I've seen...
- Just like how barbara phillips of NC hates seeing the same old things from Larson, I hate seeing the same old reviews from the same old people. Makes you wonder what is going on when someone writes two similar reviews for the same book, slightly different in languge, but promoting other authors. Does this person work for another publishing company or is she related to the other people? I don't know, but I do warn people to think twice about basing your decision to buy on customer reviews. You never know who is writing them. Maybe even this review will get posted.

- An essential tool for anyone who is into astrology. It has the aspects and emphemeris in an easy to work with format, and it is sturdy enough to carry with you. I bring mine back and forth to work, I couldn't do without it!
- This planner is so much more than just a planner. I find I use it as an ephemeris every day and take it with me in my briefcase whereever I go. This is the first book I buy I every year and I imagine will be a continual purchase every year henceforth!
No other ephemeris I know of tells the reader down to the minute when moon is v/c and to what, or the exact minute of a placement any given day. I live by this book!!
