2. I have been looking for a collector's guide for the last several years and stumbled across this. As soon as the book arrived I could not wait to check the secondary prices for all my "friends".
   
   This book will be a wonderful help in getting an extra rider on my homeowners policy to cover my friends should anything happen to them.
   
   The pictures and descriptions in the book are outstanding and the supplemental information is invaluable. I have several friends that have multiple looks and it helped me to distinguish between the bears that have the same name but slightly different looks.
   
   If you are looking for the ultimate collector's guide for Boyds Plush - you must get this book!!



3. This is a must for Boyds Collectors. Great pictures and great information. Love the Paw Notes. A vast improvement from the First edition.

1. This is an excellent overview of the history of the Steiff Co. Tons of pictures showing a vast history of stuffed animals and dolls. There is one doll that looks exactly like Homer Simpson. But also lots of information on how this privately owned company started, the methods and inventions for devising their creatures, pictures of the factory, the museum, dioramas, all amazing... In keeping with the Steiff profile the book also sports a heafty pricetag. Ahcht

1. This book probably has a limited audience, since it seems to be missing many items for someone else, I'm adding that its back section listing only begins with the 1980's, so if you're looking for earlier Steiff information, this probably won't have it, especially some of the more common items.



2. There's lots of non-rare items missing from this book (all the one's I'm looking at).

1. I was a bit diappointed with the Cherished Teddies Collector Value Guide. The values are over-estimated, compared to E-bay and other secondary markets. There is not much in the way of information. All the Cherished Teddies are not in there. Basically just a lot of pictures, with release dates and price list. Contains sections for keeping records, and information about insurance. Nice to look at for wish list. A "fast food" approach to collecting. I would like to see more about the artwork, history, and what makes some Cherished Teddies more valuable.



2. This book is handy for organizing your collection, and a MUST for any collector! It was essential in determining how much insurance coverage we should add when we married. Also, I have found it to be extremely handy for spotting Rare Bears and retired pieces, and the book has been a useful tool in online auctions.



3. this book was not as informative as i thought it may be. I have an older book by a different author, and it gives a higher value and any rarities or varations that a teddie may have.. It's an OK book but i would have liked more info..



4. The book was complete and compact. It seemed to have the most up to date information related to if a piece is retried, ect. I also enjoyed being able to write in my collections value and which pieces I have in my collection. I find this book to be helpful in biding for auctions ect.



5. This book was a big help when I tried to see how much my collection is worth. Some of it was a little hard to follow though. Some teddies look like their in hte wrong place and some of the picturs are small and fuzzy.

1. When I ordered this calendar I thought it was going to be like the ones I had received the last 2 years as a gift. Those calendars had fun things to do throughout the year on different days. This calendar does not have that. Also, I hung it on the same hook and there must be something wrong with the hole because it tears on every page I have tried. I had to use tape.



2. This is the second Boyds Bears calendars I have purchased to display in my kitchen. The photos are cute and very colorful. Boyds are my favorite bears to collect and was happy to see this offered on Amazon.com because my local bookstores do not carry it.



3. I purchased this for my wife who is a teddy bear enthusiast. She loves the calendar; easy to read, great pictures, enough room to write notes, birthdays, etc. I will continue to purchase in the future.



4. Gave it to my sister in law - who LOVES Boyd bears. She is running out of room in her house so the calendar was a perfect way for her to enjoy her bear buddies all through the year.

2. I thought the book had too much information.Most of the information was outdated quickly.The book was too expensive also.Didn't have many pictures.I wouldn't recommend it to anyone unless you want to read boring information.

1. what can I say? I bought this book 5 days ago and anybody that has been to my house since has spent the entire time reading it! I cant get enough - give me more! The photographer has extraordinary talent and the captions are absolutely delightful! I cant wait for the next one!



2. I just fell in love with Steiff Bears as a child growing up in England. As a British expat living in California seeing Marc Hoberman's "Teddy Bears" brought back fond childhood memories of "chocky" my constant childhood companion. The personalities of the bears come to life through the photography making this book something special for bear lovers the world over.



3. I Picked up this gem of a book at a Teddy Bear convention in Chicago. What a wonderfully beautiful book this is. The photographs are gorgeous(how did they get those bears to pose like that) and the text reveals a lot about each bears personality. If your a Teddy Bear LOVER and collector like I am then the book Teddy Bears is a must for your collection!



4. I am a book lover and a Teddy bear lover and this is one of the most amazing books I have ever seen. I was recently at the book show in Chicago and was stopped dead in my tracks by the photographs and the delightful captions in this book. The bears are cute beyond words, the captions are endearing, and the young photographer and writer is going to go places. He is destined for quite a career. This book will become part of my personal collection and also is slated for Christmas giving, baby showers, birthdays, and anyone else that gets a gift from me.



5. If you only by one Teddy Bear book this year, make it this one! In fact, if you are buying this book as a present, better buy two. Because when it arrives and you look through it, you're going to want one for yourself! These bears have a whimsy and outlook on the world that's all their own! Marc Hoberman is a fantastic photographer with a real knack for bringing these bears, and their world, to vivid life. The captions are gently humorous, giving readers an insight into the world as bears see it. Captain Sam and pool-playing Douglas Padpaw are among my favorites, but they are all wonderful. Buy this book, you won't be disappointed!
