3 comments about Watt Pottery: An Identification and Value Guide.
- This book is very informative. It gives one an idea of the value of a particular piece of Watt Ware. It lists all the different styles that were created. I keep it in my car in case I find a piece of Watt Ware in an antique store and wish to see how the store's price compares with the value listed in the book. It is a very good resource to have on hand.
- A Wonderful Book that's packed full of Photos of this Lovely Pottery, as well as the History behind this Sweet Pottery! A Must Have if you collect Or Deal in Watt Pottery!
- This is a good basic book for collectors new to Watt Ware. The photographs are excellent and help in identification. It is a well organized book and begins with a brief history of the Watt company and has a chapter devoted to each major pattern. At the back of the book is a section covering different company markings with photographs and drawings. The book was published in 1993, however, the value guide was updated in 1998 and has proven to be accurate in my experience. What this book lacks is a greater history of the company. It would have been nice to know a little more about it with some photos of manufacturing and such. For the price of this book it is a good value...a good start.

2 comments about Franciscan Hand-decorated Embossed Dinnerware.
- Excellent reference book and also very interesting. This book answered all my questions. Highly recommend.
- I love this book. I have known James for about 10 years. He has been collecting Franciscan dishes and patterns like Desert Rose and Apple and Ivy for over 25 years now. This is the best book for a Franciscan California Pottery or dinnerware collector. There is information on Catalina Ceramics and Art deco. There are unique bits of information that only a seasoned collector would know.

4 comments about The Collector's Encyclopedia of Granite Ware Colors, Shapes and Values Book 2 (Collector's Encyclopedia of Granite Ware Bk. 2).
- A teriffic book. Clear and well organized. My only warning to you is, don't expect to get the prices the book suggests. I find that 1/3 to 2/3 of suggested prices are more realistic for all but the rarest pieces.
- This is a must for the Granite ware buyers prices are great and great learning instruction of what to look for and how to tell if it is old or new I love this book and look at it often as I am looking on ebay alot. A must for the Granite people
- I found this book very helpful as a new collector of Granite Ware. I especially appreciate the items being grouped by color for easy identification with the price values on the same page. Now I am searching to find some backgound information on the makers and enameling techniques.
- My mother-in-law is an avid collector of graniteware, thus our whole family is and she has both of Greguire's graniteware books. I must say I like this second edition much better than the first. This edition lists the price along with the description, making it easier than flipping back and forth like in her last book. This edition is also better because it groups the pieces by color and description and I believe this is also easier. Our family has gotten a lot of use out of Greguire's book, and if you are a graniteware collector like everyone in our family, this book is a must have for reference.

2 comments about Japanese Cloisonné (V&a Far Eastern).
- I found this to be a handsome and helpful book. Well written with great photographs. Very useful to the collector or the student of Japanese Cloisonne. Chuck
- A beautiful and somewhat varied collection, with excellent background information. If the exhibit had greater variety, and a little less focus on Ando in favor of other artists who are not represented, it would provide the perfect reference as it almost does. It would also be nice to see some representation of recent common products to aid in differential identification with Meiji, Taisho and Showa period wares. A must buy for the Japanese cloisonne afficionado nonetheless.
