1. Struggling to cope with the sudden, unexpected death of my two year old cat, I sought out many books on grief and bereavement. None helped until I encountered Laura Carlson's book. Through it and its letter writing process I began to work through my grief. My letter evolved into a framed memorial photo tribute. Thanks to this book and its process I found peace of mind and began to heal. PARTING WORDS/PARTING WAYS definitely provides a means to cope with your grief and move through the process.

   When I lost my dog, there was such a feeling of being alone...but, with this book people can know that there are others out there..going through the same thing. It is such a comfort and that time of loss. Highly recommend.

1. This heartfelt book about deceased pets and the memorials their owners have made for them will strike a beautiful chord in the hearts of anyone who has ever loved and/or owned an animal. As a photographer myself I was immediately moved by the colorful images, predominately pola transfers and infrared shots, that adorn the pages throughout. The list of resources towards the back are also a great addition for pet owners interested in creating their own special memorial to their truest friends who have departed. I highly recommend this book to any pet lovers' book collection.



2. I love this book. Anyone who has ever loved and lost an animal friend will love this book. Anyone fond of cemeteries will love this book. The author's heart speaks to us through touching stories and beautiful images. She allows us to share in a universal love and remeberance of our animal companions. Not everyone understands the place they share in our lives. Through this book we can feel we are not alone and find some comfort during one of the most difficult times in our lives, the loss of a beloved friend.

The stories told are endearing, encouraging the reader to reflect on his own fond memories of the pets in his life. 1. Plants of Life/ Plants of Death by Frederick Simoons is a terrific book. I am a garden writer myself (Allergy-Free Gardening) and I appreciate well-written horticultural material.
   This book is full of unusual and interesting facts and stories that you probably won't find any where else (pregnant women are in special danger from eclipses, garlic warms the body, makes fighter more pugnacious, and increases semen). Garden writers would be wise to own a copy of this for reference. Folks who enjoy gardening, botany, nature and history, will appreciate
   this treasure. There are quite a few useful and interesting illustrations in the book but probably what most impresses is the thoroughness of the work. It is obvious that many years of study and research went into this labor of love and the results are evident. I highly recommend Plants of Life/ Plants of Death.

1. Recommend this book inna heartbeat. Well written, easy to read, opens the heart. Keep kleenex handy, but they're easy tears, from feeling all the love, not hard tears. Critters are a bargain, for just a little food and shelter, you get all that love. If you know anyone who abuses their Critters, tell them to stop, okay?
