1. This is a book that can be read and reread, contemplated, and integrated into work as a practice.
   
   It explores the visual language with which ideas can be understood and expressed, as well as the levels of thinking involved in the process of creating art. The book includes a brief history of art using the visual language, and concludes with notes of wisdom from his experience.
   
   Kevin's class and this book have opened my mind to the possibility of a fulfilling life study of art where ideas can be realized on canvas or through any art form. Thank you Kevin.

1. When your professor comes over the first day of class and leafs through your brand new book and says, "Where did you get this...it's a great introduction to this class!" then proceeds to tell you he knows some of the potters and works pictured...you know it's a GREAT book. From learning where clay comes from and the techniques from pinching and coiling to the wheel and sculpture, I found great tips and photos to help me along and inspire my "creations." Then came texturing, coloring and glazing and firing techniques. I've actually bought the book as a gift for Mr. Pace (from amazon.com, naturally) and his future students because I found it SO helpful.

1. This book has a lot of different ideas that I want to try. I especially want to do the puzzle piece projects. I would recommend this book.



2. Leave it to Marie to define "Collage", and explain in detail all of the goods that goes into them.
   
   As a beginning "altered art", "collage" artist, I am happy with her book more than any other because she tells me what to use, and how to use it!
