- I was not at all pleased with this book, there were way more words than pictures. I was pleased however that Amazon processed my return with no questions asked and very promply.
- Pictures are great, but there are so many other books out there with better information.
- Lots of good information in this book. We have used it often since receiving it.
- It is a nice book but did not contain exactly what I was looking for - until you actually have it in your hands, there is no way to know. I am not sorry I bought it but this information was contained in other books I have.
- This is a good book for the novice birdwatcher, like myself. It shows the most common birds in color photographs along with info on each. A great starter book for wild bird lovers.

- This is a wonderful book. Great tips and sound advice. Unfortunately, I think my macaw read it before I did. Now I am a very obedient, well-behaved owner. Seriously, the book is worth every penny. I've had my macaw 24 years, and neither she nor I am too old to benefit from the common-sense tips we found in this book.
- Very useful book. Good information on dealing with problems, plus background information on animal and parrot behavior.
- The Parrot Problem Solver
My sweet lovable Goffin had turned into a biting, cantankerous monster. I could not, for the life of me, figure out what I had done wrong or why he had learned to hate me so much. After reading this book I was relieved to find out that he didn't hate me. He was just trying to communicate something I couldn't understand. After reading this book and putting the suggestions into place (It took only one week, by the way), we are now back on speaking terms. Barbara Heidenreich has saved our relationship!
- I know Ms. Heidenreich personally and worked with her for years. As I believe parrots to be the most misunderstood of all pets it is always a touchy subject to discuss parrot behavior with parrot owners. Barb is one of the few "parrot experts" I have ever met after 13+ years in the zoo animal training field. I highly recommend anything written or offered by her. Good luck!
- Barbara provided great insight into parrots and why they do what they do. She uses reeal world examples from Parrots and many other animals that she has experience with. This book breaks down the different types of aggression and signs to look for. I wish I had ordered "Good Bird! A guide to solving problems in companion parrots" at the same time as they are complimentary as I understand it. It will arrive this week. One other thing, the book has a ton of great photos as well! You won't be disappointed with this book.

3 comments about Cattitude: The Feline Guide to Being Fabulous.
- This was a great little picture book for those woman who love cats and have CATITUDE!
- A fabulous pairing of beautiful photos and cleverly written lines. The book itself is nicely crafted and assembled-Love the real 'bling' on the cover. You go girls!
- This is one of the most beautifully done books I have seen in a very long time. The cover alone is worth the price of the book with a feline "Cindy Crawford" adorned in a "real" jeweled collar in a true Hollywood glamour puss pose.
And it only gets better inside the cover. The subjects are some of the most enchanting furry gods and goddesses this side of heaven. Their personalities just jump off the pages and when they share their feline wisdom in everything from behavior, "Don't whisper when you can roar", beauty tips "Remember that good lighting is more important than good genes" and fashion "Embrace your irrational love of shoes" we realize that we can indeed learn much from them.
As a cat lover and owner of three felines with their own attiutdes, I could not resist reading this book from cover to cover (easy to do as it is about 60 pages) the minute I got it.
This book is a must have for any or all cat lovers or just anybody who appreciates great photography and very errudite wisdom.

1 comments about The Natural Cat: The Comprehensive Guide to Optimum Care.
- 12 years ago, when my Pywacket became diabetic, doctors were prescribing so-called high fiber dry food -- not much different than the food that was causing the epidemic of diabetes in the first place.
After reading Anitra's last book, I was talking to one of the leading experts in feline diabetes who offered up one simple line. "I have to agree with her on one very basic point! Cats are carnivores."
That may sound obvious now, but it was the first moment I realized that my poor sick kitty didn't need the meat flavored cereal that that same expert was prescribing. My cat needed meat, and lots of it!!
Pywacket lived well with diabetes for six years with fewer vet visits than ever. His pre-diabetes asthma was mysteriously cured, and he died of old age at 19.5. Now Anitra has updated her book and I was first in line.
She has already answered questions I spent hours on the internet trying to find, especially what if anything to use to supplement a cat's diet. I do admit that I am not up to feeding raw food as Anitra has long suggested. I have 2 little kids at home, and even a small risk is too much. Still, following Anitra's basic recommendations using high quality wet foods and adding fresh chicken, I have seen my new cats become little fluff bunnies, long haired cats with NO matts ever!
Anitra Frazier understands cats from the slow "I love you blink" to diet, to what it is like to live with these amazing creatures. for my 2 new cats, the latest edition of her wonderful book will stand as my first reference for a long time. Buy it. Study it! You will save thousands in vet bills and for the first time perhaps, truly understand your amazing animals.
Thank you Anitra! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

1 comments about We Are the Cat: Life Through the Eyes of the Royal Feline.
- This book is WONDERFUL. Scratch (I will use his cat-given name) is a fabulous writer who strikes the exactly correct tone. Anyone who has ever lived with a cat will enjoy this book. I have read many cat behavior books, many books on cats biology and genetics, as well as some sentimental memoirs about life with cats. This book, however, encapsulates just about everything with wit and joy.

5 comments about The Cat Owner's Manual: Operating Instructions, Troubleshooting Tips, and Advice on Lifetime Maintenance (Quirk Books).
- My roommate owns a cat so I bought this book as a gift for her birthday. She let me borrow it when she was done and I have to say, I learned a lot of cats! The book is very informative but very easy to read. The witty illustrations that accompanied it was just perfect. I also own the Dog manual and enjoy it greatly myself!
If you are looking for an informative book that is easy to read and comprehend, and enjoyable, this is the one for you. It covers practically everything to owning a Cat!
- A funny and great book for the first time cat owner, or anyone who loves cats.
Author of "Hobo Finds A Home" editor "Of A Predatory Heart"
- I read the book from cover to cover - it's an easy read for an informational book. I used it for a good overview and also have a more detailed "reference" book that I refer to if specific problems arise with my cat.
- I have come accross many cat books, dog books, and dog or cat books that are written in a funny style. This is one of those rare books that actually manages to succeed in everything it aspires to!
Not only is this book recent (2004), inexpensive, and hillariously written and illustrated, but it has all of the basic information a cat owner would need in an extremely USEFUL format. Man, how I wish I had this book when I first got my cat! It covers all of the questions other books could easily overlook, such as how to hold a cat, proper grooming, socialization, etc.... The format is just so... organized, it's easy to get an idea of where everything is, and the funny mechanical manual format is brilliantly integrated so that it does not interfere with either readability or clarity.
The only deficiency of this book is the lack of detailed medical information. This is not a bad thing in itself, though, as it allows for a shorter, clearer book. I would strongly recommend you to also purchase a veterinarian-written guide to cat health that covers all of the common medical problems. This would allow you access to information about vaccinations, what qualifies as an emergency or needs veterinary attention, and at-home solutions to medical problems without constantly questioning your vet. Such books include "Guide to a Healthy Cat" by Elaine Wexler-Mitchell, DVM (great, recent, inexpensive book - the only lack is that it doesn't go into as much depth as it should because it tries to be easy to understand), "Cat Owner's Home Veterinary Handbook" (a classic, in-depth book about almost every problem you might face - but not very up-to-date as it was written over 10 years ago), or "The Doctor's Book of Home Remedies for Dogs and Cats" (excellent in so many ways, but does not go into problems not treatable at home except to tell you when to take the animal to the vet).
- I picked this book up because I am a cat lover. When I started reading the book I found myself laughing as well as learning things I never knew about the care and training of my cat. It is formatted to read similiar to a automobile manual, which I thought was very humorous as well as a neat way to organize the information. I think it is a great guide for anybody who wants to learn more about the care and detail of having a feline friend.

5 comments about Cats for Dummies.
- This little book, and it is little, gives all the basics on bringing up kitty. If you never knew anything about cats, this will help you. If you know something about them, but are looking for a particular sub heading, buy another book. This one doesn't give specifics, only basics.
- This book is actually for both advanced and beginners. New ideas and has pictures to illustrate those ideas. Would recommend.
- I've gone from zero knowledge about cats to a wealth of information in a matter of hours. It's given me the confidence to be a first time cat owner soon. Highly recommended.
- This is a valuable source of information for first time cat owners as well as long time lovers of the furry ones! We knew practically nothing about caring for kitties and now feel that we are enlightened and well informed.
- Item was in good condition with a crease in the cover that was not noted in its description. Otherwise, the book was great.

2 comments about Everything Cooking for Dogs Book: 150 Quick and Easy Healthy Recipes Your Dog Will Bark For (Everything: Cooking).
- I purchased this recipe book to make homemade dog biscuits after the tainted pet food scare, and when I found my new Scnoodle puppy didn't like the store bought brands. The recipes have all the ingredients you have on hand in your kitchen, and are incredibly easy to make. The cookies I baked worked great during the "training" phase with my dog, they were excellent "reward" snacks when she was learning. They smell great when baking them. I also use chicken broth instead of water in the recipes and they add I think a whole lot more flavor for the dog. The other thing that makes it such a great book, is that when you're in a hurry and have the likes of a Bake Sale that you have to contribute to, each recipe makes a large batch, and when they were all bagged up, they actually helped make a decent dollar when others see that all natural ingredients have been used.
- well all i can say is well WOW, this book is a perfect specimen from the cover page until the last page, this is a very satisfying dog cookbook and i recomend you should buy it, 'cause all the recipes are eeeasy. I was introduced to this cookbook from DogFancy magazine. That gave one of the {everything cooking for dogs book} recipes in their 2008 april edition.
