1. All of the Aqualog books are excellent value, although they are not particularly cheap. They are full to the brim with first class colour photographs and to reproduce these in a book is an expensive process. Whether they are about the beautiful L Number now coming into the aquarist trade or some other species of fish they are the most comprehensive identification books you can buy. They never become dated because as new fish become available to the aquarist trade the books are updated. There is not a lot of literature on African cichlids so this book is invaluable.
   
   They do not deal with the basics of fish keeping, there are many and varied books that do that. They are in the main a fish identification encyclopaedia and not a lot more. But for those aquarists who are particularly interested in a single species they are indispensable.



2. This book is the best Loricariidae Identification book, it has massive of good quality pictures, it tells reader how big the species can be and little bit about how to keep them in captive. For each L number, there is a brief intro at the beginning of the book. Anyone loves plecos must own this book.



3. Very good. The L's reference book. Not good at all if what you're really looking is how to maintain, breed or make your Pleco happier.
   But if you just want to browse all species known so far, or recognize any Loricariidae you encounter - this is it. Lots of good pictures, all L Numbers up to 350, and LDAs up to 76 covered with a short symbols near the picture, translating into how much they grow, what they eat, how big should your tank be, kind of water conditions needed, etc...
   Mainly targeted at shopkeepers who always have a real hard time to identify this fishes. I love Plecos, so it was a must have for me!

1. An in-depth book on the compatibility, care and behaviour on these selected species (only). Some of these species are so scares however that I doubt it if they will ever be found in a pet shop. If you are interested in keeping these species, this book is perfect.



2. Another great book on Reef Fishes by Scott Michael. He covers common as well as rarely seen fishes and tells all that is know about these guys including foods, reproduction, habitat and aquarium care. This is a must have for Marine Aquarists!! Great Book!!



3. Scott Michael continues his Reef Fishes series with this excellent book. The gorgeous photographs allow easy identification, often including multiple photos for color variations due to location, sex, etc. It also includes information on maximum length, distribution, and biology useful to both divers and aquarists, as well as captive care and aquarium suitability ratings. This volume along with the others in the series are a must have for any serious marine aquarist, as well as any diver interested in ID'ing and learning about coral reef fishes. Highly recommended!

   By the way, the initial Amazon pricing on this book is erroneously high. I have this information directly from the publisher, so you may want to wait for it to be corrected before purchasing.

A very comprehensive and handy 320-page guidebook that covers the various aspects of tropical fishkeeping, including tank selection, heating, lighting, aeration, filtration, aquarium plants, feeding, maintenance, health care and breeding, as well as useful information (diet, water temperature, compatibility, etc.) about more than 250 fishes (including barbs, labyrinth fishes, cichlids, catfishes, loaches, characins and livebearers) with heaps of photographs in colour. An excellent book for the tropical fish enthusiast.

1. This book is more of historycal value than for practical purposes. I was trying to find information on how to build a public aquarium with the current technologies, therefore this book totally failed to my expectations.
