5 comments about Antique Trader's Doll Makers and Marks: A Guide to Identification.

  1. I use this book most often. It is a comprehensive book on doll manufactures with lists of doll name, mold numbers and sizes. It has pictures of most of doll mold numbers. It is a handy book to have around when you are an antique doll collector. For harder to identify mold numbers some smaller books, like Main Street Dictionary of Doll Marks is best. All in all this is one of my most used books and I do recommend it.

  2. A must have..buy dolls or has a collection and needs to find marks, #s, makers, and not just for bisque, but compo and other materials, old dolls to more resent dolls. So full of information
those marks that you thought you'd never find you just might here. You won't go wrong.. and what a price.. Couldn't live without it. Wonderful book.

  3. This was the doll book I bought when I accidently ended up with two antique dolls. Although there is a wealth of information in this book, my two weren't identified. I now own four antique dolls from England, Belgium, and Germany, and the only one identified in this book is the Armand Marseilles. I'm still looking for a way to identify my other three.

  4. This book has hundreds of doll marks and identifications. It has been a superb help in identifying dolls of all kinds. If you buy this one you will use it often.

  5. This book has more information in one volume than any other doll ID guide that I've seen. I especially appreciate the doll size charts--helps to determine what size head goes on which body for many makes of antique dolls. Newer dolls are covered, too. It's my most-used book!

1 comments about Doll Furniture: 1950s-1980s Identification & Price Guide.

  1. This is a great book for anyone looking to purchase doll house furniture from the 1950s-1980s. The chapters are by Doll Furniture Maker.

Many photographs are in color, and include approximate dates they were made/sold. The book includes an index with price guides (but remember the prices are from 1997).

Also has a nice chapter on the tin kitchen playsets.

The only flaw in the book is that it does not deal in the plastic furniture (that came with the tin lithographed doll houses) -- I had to use Tomart's Guide to learn about those.

5 comments about Collector's Encyclopedia of Barbie Doll Exclusives and More: Identification & Values (1977 to 1997).

  1. I have looked at many many books trying to find one that would help me to easily identify Barbie. Well folks, this is it! The pictures are wonderful, brightly colored and large enough to see detail. This is a "Must Have" book if you are a collector. (or if you buy used dolls to make up an OOAK) Well worth the money spent. I highly recommend!

  2. This book is the most wonderful Encyclopedia about Barbie dolls. It has so many dolls listed with descriptions, prices and pics of the dolls in their boxes. Many pink boxes, OOAK Mattel dolls and collectibles. Pictures are nice, they are from the doll in box, and there are closes on some dolls.

If you need information on Pink Boxes, this book is the best!!! There are a new version 'cos this is not updated, the dolls showed ends on 1999. There are no 2000 dolls or 2001. But there are a second edition, so search for the new edition!

  3. This book was very informative regarding dolls and values. I wish it would have had more of the "Special Edition" models and values though. Lots of pictures that are a good size for viewing and easy to see.

This book is put together very well, the index pages in the back make it easy to locate the dolls that you are looking for. I am a beginner and this book was very helpful for me to put a value on the dolls that I already have.

  4. I just received the COLLECTOR'S ENCYCLOPEDIA of BARBIE by JMichael Augustyniak. I thought I knew a lot about the value of eachdoll, I sell them and buy them regularly right here on amazon.com auctions. However, I opened the pages of this book and it is fantastic and a must for any serious collector. All the photos are in color, by date, series, it is all in this book. You will be amazed that some Barbies are valued in high 5 figures! I'm so glad I have this reference. Everyone who is interested in Barbie should! END

  5. Maravilloso libro ! , poseo la 1ra y 2da Edicion, y son fabulosos, fotos hermosas y claras, muy bien las descripciones de cada muñeca...,Gracias Micael Augustiniak ! desde San Luis ,Argentina RITA REVUELTO

2 comments about Antique Doll Photo Postcards in Full Color (Card Books).

  1. The cards come 4 to a page. There are 2 boy dolls, 1 Asian doll and 1 black doll in the set. The darlings are dressed to the nines in lavish velvets, organdy (?) and lace. Overall, it's unique and colorful: perfect for a quick valentine or birthday greeting and a very elegant alternative to Hallmark.

The only quibble I have is that mine arrived with a creased front cover and 2 creased cards on the 1st page. It was pretty obvious and I'm disappointed by Amazon's QC.

  2. The production quality of these postcards is [not good], but the subjects make up the difference. The dolls represent a range of ethnicities and mostly seem produced in the 19th and 20th centuries. They share an eerie lifelessness, like simulacrums who could be pinnochio's evil cousins. You'll want to write cheesy scary poetry on these cards and send them to your friends!
