- The hundreds of wonderful, clear pictures are a delight to see and a tremendous help in identifying dolls and placing comparative values. Great fun just to look at and enjoy!

2 comments about Santa Dolls & Figurines Price Guide : Antique to Contemporary, Revised Edition.
- Nice guide, buy a more updated book than the 1992 version for better updating in prices!
- I have been collecting Santa for years without even knowing it! I just liked them and bought several a year. Finally, realizing that I was wondering what the value of my collection was and starting to bid at auctions for them made me look for a comprehensive book of prices and values. Santa Dolls & Figurines is that book! I am able to find antiques as well as contemporary Santas and the historical significance of Santa around the world. An excellent source for Santa collectors!

4 comments about Collector's Compass: Barbie (r) Doll.
- This is a great book for those that are looking to collect barbie and don't know how to judge a doll or what problems they might have. They will not have to learn with an expensive horrible experience.
IT is good for new sellers because it presents them with all the questions that they will have to answer. AND finally tells them that GREEN EAR is not REALLY completely fixable and that this decreases the value of the doll! A mistake many novice sellers commit. Writing on their description "green ear, but I have heard it can be fixed"....
- This book would be wonderful for many who are in to loving Barbie. It gives wonderful tips on collecting.... wonderful for beginners!!!
- I checked this book out of the library and that was a relief, because I did not waste $12.95. I found nothing new or special in this book. There are plenty of other Barbie books out there that may be a bit more expensive but you will get your money's worth if you spend an extra $10-15 on one of them.
There is no price guide, no list of the vintage outfits available, and only 16 pages of color photos. (16 pages isn't very impressive when you've seen Barbie books that contain hundreds and hundreds of color photos.) I gave this book 2 stars because it's fairly inexpensive and it could be helpful to a complete novice who has never read _anything_ about Barbie collecting. There are still better, more informative options for absolute beginners. A lot of the advice in here is generic common sense and BASIC information that could apply to any collectible hobby.
- this book is compact and informational. it features photographs and plenty of tips and direction to beginners. The author includes cleaning, how to buy, and a beginning awareness on the world of barbie collecting

5 comments about Beckett Racing Collectibles Price Guide (Beckett Racing Collectibles and Die-Cast Price Guide).
- First of all, I was expecting the one with both Dale Sr. and Dale Jr. on the cover, not just Jr. Big disappointment. And second, I don't recall racing collectibles just being limited to die cast and cards. It was very misleading because the title states "Beckett Racing Collectibles Price Guide 2008 (Beckett Racing Collectibles and Die-Cast Price Guide)", not just Beckett Card and Car Book.
- Great information! Should split cards from die-casts and make 2 books. Print is extremely small. Too much info for 1 book.
- Received the issue with only Dale Jr. on the cover in his new team's colors. Pleased with it, very detailed and inclusive. H ave only found one piece I have not listed. Easy to follow. Invest in a magnifying glass if you are older than 21. Diecast listing by driver in the last section is very helpful. Who needs monthly updates in this hobby. Very much worth the price, but I really wanted the one with Dale Earnhardt on the cover.
- Very pleased with purchase. Arrived in a timely fashion and in excellent condition. Just what we were looking for.
- First of all, I HATE the BIG UGLY picture of American Car Racer...do not know his name, on the cover of the book. Second, I hate NASCAR and Cheap political HOT WHEEL junk I do not even care for looking at. The book should focus on HIGH QUALITY COLLECTIBLE BRANDS ONLY. What a waste of paper~!!!

5 comments about The Robert Tonner Story: Dreams & Dolls.
- Great starting point for all levels of collectors.
- This is a beautifully written and researched book which I found both helpful and interesting. As a doll critic, I often find books about doll artists to be very self indulgent, but this book represented an honest and straight forward look at one of America's most incredible and talented doll manufacturers.
- As both a doll artist and a collector, I knew I had to have this book detailing the career of one of America's premiere doll artists in recent history. Robert Tonner has brought American doll artistry to new heights. There are so many wonderful illustrations of all of Tonner's dolls from the beginning of his career through 2000. Reading Tonner's story truly makes an artist believe that anything is possible - especially success - with a vision, talent and a lot of hard work! I am truly inspired having read this book and there are few people I would like to meet as much as I would love to meet Mr. Tonner.
- The author has included everything you could possibly want to know about Tonner and his work. Meticulously researched! The photos are fabulous, as well.
- This book has many, many photos of his early works to the most recent for the year 2000. His life story gives you an insite for this wonderful doll designer. I highly recommend this for any doll collector!
