5 comments about Teamwork Saves the Day!: Book and Beanie Baby Gift Set (Wonder Pets!).

  1. The book and beanie are very cute, however, the book is very small and only a few pages.

  2. Very cute-for the Wonderpet fanatic. Very good price. Ming Ming small but nice. Small book but also cute..Good deal for the money..

  3. While it's great to finally see some Wonder Pets merchandise available, this package is seriously underwhelming. What you can't tell from the product picture is that these items are super small.

First of all, the Ming Ming beanie baby isn't really a full size beanie, it's more like one of those mini beanies Ty usually sells for Christmas stocking stuffers. It's suitably plush and well-crafted, just not the size I expected.

The book is also extremely slight, measuring only 5 1/2" x 4" and with just 10 interior pages. Sure, it fits little hands or your pocket well and it seems to be a fairly sturdy and cute board book, but it's hard to imagine it carrying more than a $3.99 price point if it was sold separately.

The combined package is really priced at about twice what it should be considering what you get. My little one is pleased with the final results, but you'll likely feel somewhat ripped off.

  4. Cute Beanie Baby. The Book is also cute but smaller and less detailed than I expected. I am glad to see that there are wonder pets books available as my daughter loves those guys!

  5. Very cute.. This was a gift for a two year old who loves WONDER PETS. She loved it..

  1. This is a horrible series with information that becomes outdated very quickly. Save your money and buy Beanie Babies, instead.

  2. I purchased this book to keep track of all of my investments, and it has done just that. It is a great book that gives you everything that a beanie babie collector needs to know. But on the downside, it has left out some of the prices for some strange reason. That's why it is only 4 *'s

  3. I loved it because it had a pocket planner inside, free, for no charge. It really gives kids an idea of how to become great collectors.

  4. This book is one of the main reasons my 3 daughters and I began collecting beanies. We did not know where to start in our search. This book made it so simple and enjoyable that we have become avid collectors and enjoy working together as a group. My daughters are 10, 8, and 6, thanks for giving us the ability to have a project together that we can enjoy. We never would have known what to do without this book. Even my 18 month old loves the pictures in this book and will cry if we take it away from him. It is teaching him his animals. See, this book has a multipurpose use!!!

  5. This is a perfect book for all the beanie infomation you need. I would recomend this book to everyone!

  1. i just got this book for my birthday and i have to say not only is it a terrible book, but it's completely useless to me. i don't even have any beanie babies. i think my nana gave it to me in hopes of getting me interested in these silly toys, but honestly, it's only made me hate them even more and feel sorry for the people who consider them a valid collector's item. what can you do with these puppets aside from display them on your dash board or "admire" them? that's not exciting. and it's definitely not fun. i'd rather take a nap. or collect stamps. atleast stamps will be worth something in 20 years. heck, atleast stamps are worth something right now.

  2. Very satisfied with the book. Extremely fast shipping and excellent communications from Fox Hill Books. Highly recommend.

  3. Ok this is a great book. I didnt buy it normal price (I got at a thrift store for $1 lucky me!) but its a nice find. I mean I am thinking of buying the newest one for 2001. But I think I might stick with the magazine. The reason is this book doesn't have all the beanie babies that were out in 2000 because it was published before they were out. For example I love the teenie babies 2001 but they are NOT in this because it was put out before they were put out. CheckerBee publishing puts out a lot of great guides, this is sure one of them. At least they put out one for Beanie Babies updated. Puffkins has ONE from 1999 and that is the ONLY one out there and they never update, and just like Beanie Babies they are always changing too. Well so I put 4 stars not five because of it not going to be as updated as you want. There is a great magazine Mary Beth she seems updated, or try to internet. But as a new collector and as a person who wants to see what they are worth or to see at least who goes with what name, this guide was great. Gives great information on beanie baby, retires, prices and check list. Cute pictures too. So if you need a view of them or a checklist this is nice. If you need updated stay with the mags and the internet! Ok? Peace, out. Beanie Babies Forever!

  4. I HAVE THIS BOOK AND I NEVER THOUGHT ANYTHING WOULD BEAT THE MAGAZINE THAT I NOW GET MONTHLY. BUT, I MUST SAY, THIS IS A GREAT RESOURCE FOR BEANIE COLLECTOR'S AND LOVER'S. A MUST HAVE!

  5. I've just started collecting beanies since Dec. 99. Having no clue as to who was who of the beanie animals, this book gives me a great starting point. It has all the info on beanie B-days, retirements, and most importantly what is a reasonable price to pay for them.I'm not looking to re-sell them to make money but I don't want to go over board on my spending for beanies at the same time. Of course its not up to date as far as new Ty products, but I don't need that info immediately as I'm just starting out. It also gives info on tag generations and tush tags which is most helpful to me. The bottom line is, if you are new to collecting Beanies, get at least one of the Checkerbee series for reference. It helped me tremendously.

  1. This book is filled with all the information you will ever need to know about Beanie Babies. This book covers all of the very rare & retired beanies which are the most valuable today. There are pictures of every tag generation made prior to the publication of this book - including each version of the tag. If you are a beanie collector & you have the earliest beanies made . . . this book will help you to determine the value, the rarity & the authenticity of your beanies. It is a MUST HAVE for anyone needing to know the facts about beanies. These authors have compiled the best & most thorough research available to date on beanies!!!

  2. I thought the book had too much information. Most of the information was outdated quickly. The book was too expensive also.Didn't have many pictures.I wouldn't recommend it to anyone unless you want to read boring information.

  3. This book was just as good, if not, better than it's counterpart the first book, Beaniemania. I highly recommend buying this book!

  4. I loved it. It had proto-types and every bit of info possibl

  5. I really enjoyed this book because it was something I could just sat down and read, with knowing all of the words. I advice any body who LOVES Beanie Baby to buy this book. I can not compare this book to any other book because it is just a GREAT book.

  1. I was impressed with the accuracy and the way that it gave such great information, this is a must for all Beanie enthusiasts like myself, and I must agree Ryan is soooo cute.....xoxox

  2. I liked the book, but most of all I liked Ryan, the co-author of The Beanie Encyclopedia. I got a chance to meet him at a book signing while I was on vacation in Florida. He looks so cute in person. I LOVE YOU RYAN

  3. This book was great. No other Book has taught me so much. Thanks Dr. Carey and Ryan

  4. Absolutely wonderful. The authors really know their stuff. There isn't a more complete Beanie Anthology available anywhere! A perfect companion to my book.

  5. It even has Attic Theasures

  1. I don't really remember but all I know is i want to go back to my friends house to read it again!

  2. Rosie Wells has been tracking, reporting, pricing collectibles of all kinds since before the Beanie craze. Her new Beanie price guide demonstrates her professionalism in covering new trends in collecting. The pictures are beautiful, and her comments make this a must have resource. Thanks Rosie!

  3. I like this book a lot.If you need information on beanies get this book

  4. This book is perfect for every Beanie Babies collector! It offers a detailed Beanie history, counterfeit information, names, pictures, variations, poems, birthdays, checklists, detailed explanations.... the list goes on and on. The only problem I have with this book is the price guides. Luckily, they're given in ranges, but since prices of Beanies change daily, you have to take the prices with a grain of salt. Still, since Rosie uses prices ranges rather than actual figures, you can assume it's pretty close. The book is still a must for every avid collector.

  5. Great discription for every Beanie Baby and it's tag. This book has all you need to know about each and every Ty Beanie Baby. This book is also great if you are just starting to collect Beanie Babies.

  1. This was a great book. Even though the prices were slightly out of date, I highly recommend you buy it! This book is a must for every collector!

  2. Well,I seriously disagree with the people saying that "This book is more for serious collectors than kids". I am just 9 years old and this book is so clear and detailed! It is so much better than 1997 Beanie Baby handbook!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The BB handbook '97 only shows the Beanies they have, and not good pictures either. Beanie Mania has perfecto pictures and they mention all early and a little late 1997 Beanies. And I'm happy they don't say "Put those Beanies in Ziploc bags" TY made Beanies for kids!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. This was my first BB book I ever purchased. It is chock full of color pictures and info and facts about each beanie. It has- chronology, tag history, collectible ranking, market trend analysis, information guides, oddities and charts for the reader to fill in with their own beanie info. Anyone who purchases this book will refer to is over and over. Both Beckys need to create an updated book with the l998 info. This would definately be well received by all the readers who purchased the first Beanie Mania Guide. Enjoy!

  4. The most serious book on Ty's Beanies thus far. Truly comprehensive, informative and enjoyable reading. A through guide to swing and tush tags; an excellent reference guide. I loved the pictures of Ty's prototypes and production errors! I had hesitated to buy yet another book on Beanies; after purchasing Beanie Mania I wished I had purchased it sooner. I have referred back to it on many occasions. Another plus: it's pages are filled with information! NOT kids drawings, games and letters on why they love Beanies! (Bless their little hearts!).Although it does not have the newer releases, the serious collector should add this book to their library!

  5. This is an awesome book! It is definitely the most colorful and one of the most interesting Beanie Baby books available. Beanie Mania covers several types of older and retired Beanies along with fabulous photos of every version of most of the Beanies. Also included is information on tags, prototypes, and Teenie Beanie Babies. However, especially since the book is almost a year old, it does not talk about or show pictures of newer Beanies. Nevertheless, I definitely recommend it!!!

  1. I've been "spring" cleaning this "summer" (haha) and came upon this particular Beanie Baby book; boy did it bring back fond memories of our hunt for beanie babies! I got rid of alot of books, but this (and my other Beanie Baby book by Les & Sue Fox) is staying! The recipes are precious with the appropriate beanie baby representing it, for example, BONES PAINTED SUGAR COOKIES - there's a colorful picture of several beanie baby dogs, Bones, Rover + others. It also includes the nutritonal facts for each recipe. Each recipe has a beautiful color photo on the right hand side of the book and the recipe is on the left. You will love this book! I did (do)!!

  2. Hi. It's been 10 years since Sue and I published the first edition of The Beanie Baby Handbook. The third and final edition (the cookbook) was published in 1998. In case you're wondering, we've attempted to publish an up to date book but Ty will not give us permission. (???) In looking over the Amazon listing, and people's comments, first, they made a mistake on the number of pages. This is a 218 page book, not a 40 page book. Each of the 52 recipes is a 2-page color spread with amazing photos created by Jeanette Long (still our neighbor and friend here in Wyckoff, New Jersey). Jeanette actually cooked, baked or prepared all of those foods, and brought them to a world class food photography studio. Kids and families love Jeanette's recipes, and in my opinion this is not only a wonderful book about Beanie Babies, it's one of the best kids' cookbooks ever published. Anyway, Sue and I are still incurable collectors. We are professional American art and rare coin dealers (19th & 20th Century), we build custom homes, and we manufacture a neat little calorie counter that you may see on TV in December or January. We've also developed a new product called Rare Coin Trading Cards, which we hope to launch as soon as we set up a national distribution system. We published Beanie Baby trading cards in 1998, but Ty asked us to stop when they began publishing their own cards. (Darn.) Beanie Babies were a big part of our life in 1997 and 1998, and I don't think we'll ever have another experience like that again. Although we did create a unique collectible known as autographed coins with two former U.S. Presidents (Ford and Bush) in 2001 and 2002. One of the reasons I posted this message is to tell the many people who write to us that we cannot publish a new edition of The Beanie Baby Handbook without written permission, or a license, from Ty. In 1997, they allowed us to publish the Unofficial edition, but that ended in 1998. Les and Sue Fox

  3. i had this book back as a child and after giving it a way years ago, i remembered recently what cute recipes it had in it so decided to get another copy! it was such a bargain and there's so many different cute ideas perfect for parties and many other occasions!

  4. Lots of information about how much the beanie babies are worth and when they made the beanie baby.

  5. check it. site got alot of reviews explains alot 'bout stuff.
its...a cookbook, think so anyways: 1. lots of people say so
    b. books got a cake on the front 3. yeah people say so

theirs my proof got it all set for ya have fun ;)

  1. Looking for a good book to give you information on your collection? I know this book sure helps me! This guide with it's color-filled pictures, and acurate Ty prices is the perfect book to help you with your collection. It also has bonus ways on how to tell a counterfeit from an original. I almost bought a counterfeit Pincess and Doby, if this guide didn't help me. It includes a time line of all Ty Beanie Baby events, plus information on how to tell which Beanie Baby will be expenisive in a year. I bought one for (sadly) $20 and it was $40 two months later. And don't forget, this book it good for all different stages of Beanie collecting! If you're a collector, this Beanie book is the book for you! :-)

  3. as a 'novice' beanie collector, this book has been the MOST helpful in learning to recognize all the beanies/teenies/et al; don't waste your money on any others, as I have... the pics alone are great; i would be totally lost without this guide!

  4. Ty Beanie Babies Summer 2000 Collecor's Guide is a great way to inventory your collection whether you collect Beanie Babies, Buddies, Teenie Beanies, or *New* Beanie Kids. This book details with a picture of each baby and value by version tags. It also has a guide to distinguish which "hang tag" or "tush tag" you have. Whether you have a large collection or just getting started, I highly recommend this book for you.

  5. Summer 2000 Collectors's Value Guide for Ty Beanie Babies is great. Packed with lots of useful information, colorful pictures of all, and places to record your collections. Includes new Beanie Kids too!
