2. I bought the Pictorial Price Guide to American Antiques as a gift for my mother, who is a collector. I don't know much about antiques, but this book appears to be comprehensive. An reference book for antiques needs pictures to help the user identify the items, and this book has plenty of pictures. Mom seemed to like the book.

1. Well written informative book on the subject, lots of photographs and short bios on important photographers from different eras.



2. If your looking for a fantastic collection of photographs, and insight into how and who collects as well as in depth descriptions on both these arts this is the book you need. Fantastically write, well presented and beautifully laid out in an easy to browse and study format.
   
   Its a stand out, I look forward to more by Laura Noble



3. If you were to choose just one book to learn on collecting photography, this one qualifies as the only reference needed. But be advised, the marketplace changes and this book doesn't substitutes being well informed on current trends.

1. We have enjoyed this whole series of artcards with our children. We find them easy to use and the children(ages 10 and 12)are able to view the cards and then memorize the names of the artists. The one great thing about this set of cards is that there are no nudes to deal with...I appreciate that.



2. I would strongly suggest that prior to buying this book you buy the parents guide to child size masterpieces. In the parents guide are the directions using these postcards to introduce art, artists, schools of art and paintings to your young child.

   Basically this book is a set of postcards that you can use to introduce artists and their famous paintings to your young child. You can match pictures, match names to paintings and more.

   My son really enjoys looking at these paintings. I'm glad we have this book. Although it's really not a book anymore since we cut up the postcards to play matching games with them.

1. I found this book one of the most inspirational books for a carver that is interested in wildfoul carving.My friends that do not carve enjoyed the book for the pictures and history.I would definitely suggest it to anyone,it makes a good coffee table and reference book.

1. I have long held a fascination for decorative objects made of Rock crystal, but never found a book that focused so extensively on this often-overlooked material. While numerous titles are available that explore crystals from the mystical or scientific standpoint, "Rock Crystal Treasures" provides a wonderful overview of beautiful objects crafted from rock crystal. Jewelry, vases, religious objects, clocks, chandeliers and other decorative items are shown.
   
   Lavishly illustrated with many large clear photos accompanied by insightful text, the book provides a wonderful resource for designers, jewelers or anyone with an interest in rock crystal quartz objects. It is inspirational to see so many items crafted from this translucent stone, worked and sculpted into pieces of such enduring beauty. I found the authors text to provide a great deal of useful details regarding both the historic and modern production of rock crystal. A beautiful book and a great addition to my design reference library.

1. A useful book because it covers both doorstops *and* doorknockers, bookends, banks and other cast iron ephemera. The photographs are dark and the pricing is out of date, but there are very few books on cast iron collectibles, making this a valuable addition.
