5 comments about Hollywood Wives - The New Generation.
- I had this book in my pile of books waiting to be read, don't know why I didn't get to it sooner. I loved all the characters in this book, I wanted so much for everyone to get what they wanted and the jerks to get what they deserve, the only complaint I have about this book is that the ending was to rushed but all in all a fun read.
Happy Reading Lisa
- As a huge fan of Jackie Collins, I was eagerly awaiting this novel. It was written in her distinctive style, which has been imitated often. I was a tad disappointed that the plot strayed so far from the original Hollywood Wives tome, but was happy to renew my aquaintance with some old friends...er, charcters. Thought the slang was a lttle overdone, however. I'm 22, and swear I don't speak like that! Was a great read for a true Jackie Collins fan, and one I know I'll enjoy reading again.
- It may of been trashy, brainless, tawdry melodrama but I loved this book! Jackie takes all the stereotypes of Hollywood celebrities and throws them together into a glamor-packed soup of gossip and subplots! Like a 500-page tabloid! The characters are all true-to-form spoiled, self-obsessed divas. The goings on are appropriately scandalous. The many talents and many husbands, the wild rich kids, the gay followers, it's all here!
The perfect Hollywood novel it may not have much substance but since that's what's expected of its subjects it's just perfect!
- One of the reasons I've found Jackie Collins to be such an enjoyable author is that she creates memorable characters. Her novels, usually are loaded with characters that you'd like to know and those that you'd like to take down a few pegs.
Not so the case with HOLLYWOOD WIVES-THE NEXT GENERATION. The characters are boring, predictable, shallow, and totally not Jackie Collins.
Don't waste your money or your time.
- A Jackie Collins might be what I call a fluff book, but I do enjoy one now and again. Everyone needs a break not only from the stress of their lives, but also from the serious fiction novel you (I) may normally read.
Hollywood Wives, The New Generation was a good book to kick back with and unwind. With the normal twists and turns of a J.C. book: scandal, shockers, betrayals, revenge plots, love, lust, hate...this book keeps you flipping the pages till the exciting and rewarding end.

5 comments about Dangerous Kiss: A Lucky Santangelo Novel.
- Dangerous Kiss is so different from the other Lucky Santangelo novels because it does not feature the Bonnatti family. I really loved that it introduced new characters to the world of Lucky Santangelo and Lennie Golden.
This book is definitely worth five stars because you won't want to put the book down. It will keep you wondering about the fates of Lucky and everyone that she loves!
- Before Dangerous Kiss, every Lucky novel was an improvement from the last. That's why I was hoping for this to be the best Lucky novel, and Lucky could end at her best. Unfortunately, this one almost makes Chances look better!
This is "A Lucky Santangelo Novel", yet Lucky only plays a secondary part. Lucky's persona we all knew and loved in her prior adventures is much more passive, which is a major letdown. Another thing that I must say is that most of the characters crossing over from other Lucky novels serve no point in the novel, and you almost want to yell at the book, wondering why they are wasting pages. Lucky has been a lot of fun, but I think it is time to leave her be, and move on to bigger and better things.
- From reading some of the reviews the customers have said i was a little sceptical about reading this book, but once i started it i couldnt put it down. i brought it everywhere even to work (something my boss was not thrilled with). i would deffinatly read this book again. personally i think it was the best book out of the whole lucky series. i hope you enjoy reading it like i did!!
- As all the Lucky's novels this one is excellent. You won't be able to put down the book until you finish it, JC has the ability to write five different stories in the book, merge all of them at the end of the book and keep you interested in all the stories and willing to read for more.
- I thought this was a great book and would recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and entertaining book

5 comments about Lovers & Players (Collins, Jackie (Spoken Word)).
- I couldn't put the book down, this was one book that I have to say is worth the read. All the characters are well written and the story is full things that you can't wait to find out about. This is my first book by this author, and I am going to continue to read more.
- If you like Tales about the rich and famous and the lives of luxury that they lead, you'll like this book. If you're tired of reading about spoiled people who take no consequences for their own actions, then you won't like this book. As always, Jackie Collins is a great storyteller and this book is full of sex, lies and dirty dealings.
- I was concerned that I had "out grown" Jackie Collins, or lost my interest when her new book came out. BUT - WOW - she got me again! FABULOUS - FANTASTIC - I did not see any of it coming! Bravo! I fell in love all over again. Thanks for another great book!
- The Diamond family...
At the head of the family is Red Diamond, a selfish, controlling and filthy rich father..his three sons Jett, an ex druggie and a successful model in Italy, Max, a real estate broker and Chris, a Hollywood entertainment lawyer.
The Diamond family is far from being perfect. Red Diamond treats everyone including his three sons like trash. Chris is constantly busy with clients with ridiculous demands and he has a secret that could cause him to lose everything. Max is engaged to a wealthy girl name Amy, but when a murder hits home..he's the prime suspect. And Jett use to be an alcholic and druggie, but now that he is a model in Italy will his past come to haunt him?
Jackie Collins also features Liberty,a biracial wanna be singer who doesn't know who her father is and her mother Diahann..a ex jazz singer has a deep dark secret of her own.
Secrets, lies, murder, betrayal and sex make up exciting ingredients for Lovers and Players. This book kept my attention from the first page to the last. Jackie Collins is now one of my favorite authors!!!
There wasn't a boring moment in this book! Jackie sure does know how to tell a story
- What a story! Sex, murder and secrets dominate the plot over seven days. The book starts with a meeting being called by controlling billionaire Red Diamond, whose manipulative behavior has determined the fate of his sons' lives as well as any others who cross his path. His character is easy to hate while his sons are easy to identify with. The story intertwines the lives of an aspiring singer and an heiress. I couldn't put this book down even though the ending was somewhat predictable. I can imagine three sequels based upon the lives of those touched by Red.

5 comments about Deadly Embrace.
- So far I have completed about 7 of Jackie Collin's novels and this one was by far the most entertaining. I love how she mingles, sex, hate, murder, etc. It is captivating -- I did not want to put this book down and the end did not disappoint. A must read.
- This book reminded me of some of Jackie Collins earlier works....and because I had not read one of her novels in a long time, I was pleased to see that she has a lot of talent and weaves a good tale.
In Deadly Embraces, Collins tells the love story of Michael Castelli (a part time mobster, turned multi-billionare playboy) and Dani Castle (ex-Vegas Showgirl). Their romance, which spanned over 30 years is reviewed and we see their heartaches, relationships with other people, marriages to other people, birth of their children and various other life experiences.
The novel begins with Michael's beloved daughter, Madison taken hostage at a restaurant, while Michael's past comes to haunt him. Everything is not what it seems and we soon learn that revenge or retribution is a dish best served cold.
- Enjoyable book, received book quickly after ordering. Book in excellent condition.
Had been unable to find book in local bookstores
- I listened to the audio version of this book. The reader spoke clearly and the story wraps up your mind in entertainment. While a part of a series, I heard this book only and it stood alone. The author weaves Michael and Dani's lives and love affair in a time-shifting novel filled with crime, sex, and secrets. You care about the characters and find their colorful lives delicious to listen too. Once you start listening, you'll want to hear the story all the way through.
- I read lethal seduction which I read and fell madly in love with, then i decided to read this considering its the prequel. 2 words, pure crap/ trash (u're pick). It was highly disappointing. It seemed as if she were rushing to meet a deadline, and just didn't pay as much attention.
She focused purely on michael and some drama, she repeated most of the stuff you will know in lethal seduction, it was very annoying, and both I and my aunt hated it, and were pissed of.
BUT if you haven't read Lethal Seduction yet, go on and have a blast you'll love it.

5 comments about Hollywood Divorces.
- I'm such a sucker for a page turner and celebrity gossip. This book had both! I know that these aren't real celebrities, but it is such fun to read about them and not be able to put a book down.
This follows three main characters and their marriages...and divorces. There is cheating, scandal, drugs, passionate sex...and new romance. So much good stuff going on that you don't want to put it down.
This is 100% Jackie Collins and so good! If you love her books then you'll love this one too.
- As always, Jackie Collins has brought the world of the super sexy, super rich and super glamorous to us ordinary folks. I love how she gives us so many rich characters and so many inter acting plot lines. JUST TRY TO KEEP UP!! This book is yummy !!!!!!!!!!!
- I gave it two stars because I did at least finish it though I completely stopped following one of the characters and skimmed through the other two. It's about three distinct Hollywood women (a serious actor, a sexpot actor, and a very young writer/producer) and their men. It starts out really, really good (grabs your attention) but midway becomes a mindless read that eventually loses its "umph." The climaxes for each character are little more than a footnote on the pages. Too much emphases on the ho-hum stuff, not enough attention to the "shockers" which kind of brings it to an abrupt ending. If you haven't already, try "Hollywood Wives" and "Hollywood Husbands" - those books are 5-star!
- This book is written in classic Jackie Collins style. Interesting characters (not to many so you won't loss track or have to reread the beginning). While this book is a page turner and entertaining I would suggest not reading to many of JC books back to back because then you might see that her books are basically written with the same type of storylines. Linc Blackwood and Lola Sanchez are hilarious characters and there is not a boring chapter in this book. I actually have not finished the book but from what I've read it is a must buy and read.
- I must preface my review with the statement that I like Jackie Collins -- more so as a talk show guest, but I've enjoyed several of her books, too. Unlike many of her peers in the the excesses-of-the-rich-and-powerful genre (Jacqueline Susann, Harold Robbins, Judith Krantz, et al), Collins never writes as if she takes herself or her genre too seriously. One can almost hear the author chuckling to herself as she pens another outrageous scene. I just wish that Collins -- or at least her editors -- took the actual writing seriously.
Don't get me wrong: I'm not expecting Dickens-style prose, but it seemed with Collins' releases following "Hollywood Wives" (the author's masterwork) she's been coasting. After reading "Lovers & Gamblers" I decided to take a break from Collins -- a trial separation, if you will. A viewing of the outrageous British soap "Footballers' Wives"--which shares many of the qualities of a Collins novel -- inspired me to give Jackie another chance. So I picked up "Hollywood Divorces" (a meaningless title when you consider that the almost all the characters in these type of books end up divorcing) to see if the author had gotten back on top of her storytelling game. Sadly, no.
Though "Hollywood Divorces" does feature some mildly amusing passages and catty observations, it's a largely uninspired and, worse, tedious affair that makes "Lovers & Gamblers" seem complex and thought-provoking by comparison. The three principal characters -- Shelby Cheney, Cat Harrison and Lola Sanchez -- are more like types than people. Acclaimed actress and, as we're reminded throughout the book, "raven-haired beauty" Shelby is the put-upon Good Girl. Hot, very young (19) director Cat plays by her own rules. We know this because Collins informs us that Cat plays by her own rules, and because Cat refuses to give a film producer oral favors (in this genre, oral sex is just the cost of doing business in Hollywood). Collins has the most fun with Lola, a "Latina sex bomb" and selfish b--ch, obviously modeled after Jennifer Lopez (though J-Lo on her worst day can't be nearly as awful as the fictional alter mega-ego Collins supplies her). Readers will also spot fictional counterparts to Colin Farrell, Meg Ryan and Pamela Anderson, among others. I know Collins has mentioned getting shunned by some people in the entertainment industry for basing her characters on real celebrities, but Collins' characters bear little resemblance to actual human beings, or even characters. "Hollywood Wives" doesn't read like it was written by a Hollywood insider; rather, it reads like it was written by someone with lifetime subscriptions to the National Enquirer and People magazine.
The harshest criticism goes to Collins' editors. Did they not notice that Cat laments the producers' choice of Shelby for her next movie because she wants an American actress, even though it's not revealed that Shelby is English until a couple chapters later? Or that Shelby contemplates ceasing to take birth control pills in one chapter, but a few chapters later -- in the novel's time, later the same day -- she's not wanting to tell her husband she stopped taking the Pill three months earlier? Collins is a brand name, so I can understand why she might put more thought into what she wears for her book jacket photo than continuity, writing interesting plots or even complete sentences. Her editors cannot be so easily forgiven. It's like the folks at Simon & Schuster just ran "Hollywood Divorces" through SpellCheck and sent it to press.
I'm not going to give up on Jackie Collins altogether, but I think I want to see other novels. "Hollywood Divorces" left me wanting to resume my trial separation.

- I haven't read any Jackie Collins books in years and I must say she still has it. This book had me hooked!!!! It was very captivating from the first CD (audiobook) I loved it & am so glad I picked it up.
- WHAT CAN I SAY IT'S A JACKIE COLLINS BOOKS, NOTHING ELSE NEEDS TO BE SAID. GREAT READ.
- I have been a big Jackie Collins fan for years
but she's gotten tired.
When did she lose the edge? I ws able to enjoy
"Drop Dead Beautiful" but oh goodness--who read
the dreadful "Married Lovers"?
Where is the good Hollywood trash anymore?
I am more excited by the new girl Jackie Christian,
the former soap opera writer.
I want Hollywood trash and lots of sex.
Her book is called "The U.P.S. GUY" by JACKIE CHRISTIAN.
Oh god you have to go to Kindle Store and get that book!
I could only find it on Kindle though.
ALl of her short story novelettes are so exciting and
well written but they are TODAY. I love to read these
sexy Hollywood trash books and I am sorry Jackie Collins
but you are being topped by Jackie Christian.
"The U.P.S. Guy" was best I've read in a while and it
should have been written by Jackie Collins.
BRING BACK HOLLYWOOD TRASH NOVELS WITH LOT OF EXCITING
SEX! Go red "U.P.S. Guy" at the Kindle store!
- Highly recommended!
This book was well written and well worth the read.
I love all of her books.
I can't wait for her next book.
Will not disapointment at all...
- I only bought this book b/c it was on clearance for 5 bucks...I only read it when I was ABSOLUTLY BORED! ....Not a page turner at all. The story had a bit too many characters to follow. The ending was a disappointment. In short...don't waste your time...

5 comments about Married Lovers.
- I am the greatest fan of Jackie Collins. I have read all of her books and keep them too. I am disappointed in that this year for vacation I don't have a new book to read. Every year she comes out with a new one for me to take along. I hope that she will get one out soon. Vacation is in 3 weeks so I don't think she will make it this year...
- I'm hoping - and assuming- "Married Lovers" is only a temporary setback on the great Jackie Collins career. She's written some fantastic things before ("Lucky" should be required reading as how to write the ultimate beach novel and "Lovers and Gamblers" for anybody preparing to fly over the rain forest...) and undoubtedly will again. I just wasn't feeling it this time around.
To start with, there's the title. It sure promises a lot but there really aren't a lot of married lovers running around and the main characters are bland. There are none of Collins' signature "little detonations" that I usually count on to appear throughout the book that always manage to keep the reader hooked. Instead, nothing truly thrilling happens until the final 50 pages or so. Add in a subplot that's borrowed pretty heavily from "Hollywood Wives: The Next Generation" albeit with a different resolution and there things are pretty flat.
That said, there is a great, very original running story about a young woman fleeing her horrible Eastern European existence and trying to forge a new identity for herself that's gripping. It's definitely the best part of the book and it's mercifully broken up into sections so that it doesn't become too much of a downer. I will always be a Jackie Collins fan and look forward to her next release because even when I am not as thrilled over pone of her books, she still manages to entertain.
- This was a typical Jackie Collins beach/trash novel. The names may change, but the story remains the same time after time.
The only reason I gave it an extra star was for the Anya storyline, which was interesting and really made you feel for the character. The rest of them, well...if you've read any other books by JC, you've met them all before.
- Jackie Collins is an exceptional writer. I love how she writes about those who are in situations of peril, be it financial or emotional woes, then they make it in the fast lane of Hollywood. In Jackie's newest book, "Married Lovers", she writes about the beautiful Cameron Paradise who flees her destructive life in Hawaii and arrives in Los Angeles with new dreams and new hopes. Cameron is the main character in the book and it is through her that we meet other interesting individuals who embark themselves upon her. "Married Lovers" is filled with everything that Jackie is known for writing about: sex, love, passion, back-stabbing, and mudrer. I really believe that everything Miss Collins writes about is a best-seller: the woman could never write a bad novel. Sit back and enjoy a great book, a book that is almost as wonderful as "Hollywood Wives". "Married Lovers" would make a great TV movie, so television producers please take note! Jackie's next novel "Poor Little Bitch Girl" arrives in stores in late 2009.
- I've read too many JC's books and this one is a poor job. I'll review this plot like a football game:
First quarter:
Your team is the "dream team" everything they do is paramount. The book is fast paced, well written and you can't read fast enough to finish it.
Second quarter:
Your team is making one too many fumbles. JC wrote too many plots and characters into the book. Some are still good but others are just to make the book thicker.
Half time:
You don't know if you want to watch the second half or go to a restaurant but is your team you have to watch and coach them.
Third quarter:
Your team is getting weary by the minute and started to foul the other team. JC digresses so many times that you'll loose the plot gist.
Forth quarter:
You go outside the game before the two minute warning. Just skip the epilogue.

5 comments about Poor Little Bitch Girl.
- I bought this for a gift. The person I gave it too liked it a lot.
- This was a good fast read that was easy to read and keep me picking the book back up. However I would just classify it as a good beach read. Some of the characters, such as Denver, just seemed too naive and immature to be believable. For a hot shot lawyer she sure didn't act like one.
- I have never read Jackie Collins before this book, but I will definately read more! I loved this book! This book reminded me a lot of Candace Bushnell's books (she wrote Sex and the City). I enjoyed her books also! I loved how all the characters came together. My favorite character by far was Denver. I felt like Annabelle and Carolyn didn't have much substance to them, but Devner hit the spot for me. I was secretly routing for her and Bobby to meet up and hook up and was so glad when they finally did! I loved that this book was very real and raw and to the point! I finished this book in 2 days because I could not put it down! I loved how she told what happened with all the people at the end also which gave the readers closure. I also liked how most everyone who had it comming to them got theirs...Spoiler: Carolyn got what she deserved for sleeping with a married man, Ramirez's brother got what was coming to him for all his wrong doings, Rosa got hers for stealing Carolyn's purse...everyone but Gregory...and that I hated!
My only complaints about the book is that Carolyn didn't get at least some kind of revenge on Gregory! After what that man did to her I wanted her to at least turn him in or have choice words for him or something! Also, I wished Dever and Bobby would have hooked up sooner in the book. I would have loved to have more of them and felt like as soon as they got together the book ended! Other than that though...it was an awesome book!
- Anabelle Maestro the daughter of two hottest and highest paid actor and actress in Hollywood. She is the one in the cover. Spoiled, rich, beautiful, sexy and wild. Which also means unappreciated, insecure, selfish. She moved to the east coast after dropping out of college in Boston to get away from her parents' fame and to venture on her own, she did alright, together with her coke addict boyfriend Frankie Romano they are raking in millions, running a very lucrative business - the high end prostitution ring in New York, geared for the most powerful, rich and famous men.
Bobby Stanislopolous, son of the late Dmitri Stanislopolous, a shipping tycon and Lucky Santangelo a successful business woman who own a chain of hotels in Vegas and is married to Lennie, a Hollywood hot shot. Bobby partnered up with his best friend M.J, and together they are the owner of the hottest club in Manhattan- Mood. Bobby is obviously born into a family of achievers, in this book he seems to be the most successful and luckiest man, career wise. He is a loser when it comes to dealing with the opposite sex. It's not that he is bad looking, no. He was described as hot but he seems to picky and he seems to be attracted to women who seems to belittle him. One of these women is the cougar Megastar Zeena who has an annoying penchant in referring to herself in a third person every time she have a conversation with people.
Denver Jones is a twenty something hotshot attorney in a prestigious law firm based in Los Angeles, she did two highly publicized case and won both of them. She used to be Anabelle's friend, and also went to high school with Bobby, MJ. One day, Gemma Summers, the most beautiful and talented actress in Hollywood was shot in the face inside her L.A mansion. Her boss Felix, put her on the case, looks like she is going to reacquaint herself with an old friend, since Gemma Summers was Anabelle's mother.
Carolyn Henderson, is Senator Stoneman's assistant and mistress. She is educated, young and beautiful and she is my least favorite character. Nothing is fascinating or intriguing about her. Did she really believe that an ambitious Senator that she's been sleeping with for two years will leave his wife with excellent social and political connection and the father of his two kids? just because he managed to impregnate her? Carolyn is obviously a stupid and delusional, naive girl. Does she not watch TV?
I've never read any of Jackie Collins' book been eyeing them for sometime now but I was never really serious of buying one. So I am extremely grateful that this copy was sent to me for review. Now I am a fan. I love this book. It has murder, glamour, sex, money, and juicy scandals.
- Annabelle Maestro is such a poor little rich girl. The breed from two of Hollywood's hottest legends, Annabelle is living up life running a high priced call girl business with coke addict boyfriend, Frankie. When her mother is brutally murdered in her own home and her father is the main suspect, Annabelle is forced to fly home from New York to Los Angeles for the funeral. She is toted along by an old friend turned lawyer, Denver, who is struggling to defend the legendary Ralph Maestro in his wife's murder, all while trying to find a suitable man. Denver's best friend, Carolyn, has managed to get herself knocked up by the very married US senator she works for, and has now been kidnapped as part of the senator's grand scheme.
Poor Little Bitch Girl, the 26th best-seller from acclaimed writer Jackie Collins is another great. The scandal of Hollywood, the raunchy sex scenes, and the way each character entwines with another makes this a page turner until the end. The only problem I had was the big "scandal" wasn't really that scandalous, if you follow the Tinseltown standards. But still another fabulous novel from Collins that will drag you into that selfish, all about me world, and make you not want to come back out.
