- Listening to Ellen read her own book is so funny. I listened to the entire book on a trip too and from Vermont. I was literally laughing out loud. And she has made some adjustments to the chapters so it geared towards the listener not the reader. It is light and funny, no real plot to it, which makes it an easy read if you don't have a lot of time on the road at once. I really enjoyed it.
- I adore Ellen and watch her show daily. I thought this book would be hilarious, but I was extremely disappointed, and I'm not a picky reader. It's not well written and jumps around too much. The jokes don't carry because Ellen's not there telling them and showing visual expressions. There's no point, and she's either trying too hard, or she's just not funny on paper. This book is unfortunate. Ellen is better than this.
- Everything Ellen does seems to turn to gold. She not only says funny things, more importantly, everything she says, she says it funnily (is that a word?) Anyway I hope she writes more soon. I'm her biggest fan and really enjoyed this book very much.
- I read this book after having my gall bladder removed. It was just what I needed. The book was very easy to read, witty and amusing. I must admit, Ellen comes across much better on the television than in the book but maybe I just haven't seen enough of her to imagine the expressions she would be making while saying the things she says in the book. Great light entertainment.

- Many books by stand up comedians can more be characterized as a collection of their material, and this is no exception. I am an avid fan of stand up comedy as well as a queer individual, so let's just say that I am quite familiar with Ms. DeGeneres' body of work. Because of this, I already knew a lot of the material in the book. It makes it no less hilarious or well written, but let's just say some of the magic is gone when you know the tricks behind the curtain.
Still, if you're a casual fan of her stand up or you're an avid viewer of her talk show, I highly recommend it. Not only is her material hilarious, but she often sneaks a great message about life right past ya. She is truly an amazing human being, and her signature humor can brighten up even the darkest day.
