5 comments about Creating Affluence: The A-to-Z Steps to a Richer Life (Chopra, Deepak).
- I am in the middle of a cross-over from being a former spy and infantry officer--metrics driven--to partnering with 23 others to create the Earth Intelligence Network and empower the public with public intelligence that forces the policymakers into accountability. So I find myself in strange territory--I used to blow off all the spiritual "squishy" stuff, and now I am finding that it provides not only a bridge, but a safety network as I venture into a "leap of faith" on what might be possible.
I found the same authors DVD The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success and book by the same title, The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success: A Pocketbook Guide to Fulfilling Your Dreams (One Hour of Wisdom) to be so worthwhile that I watched and then read them in combination.
This is a gem of a book, the kind of thing that the author himself says should be read once, and then used as a daily reminder, reading several pages each day. I agree.
Most fascinating for me, as a specialist in information and intelligence, is the authors emphasis on pursuing the goddess of knowledge so as to make the goddess of wealth envious (hence attracting wealth), and also his emphasis on how the raw material of the world is non-material, everything is a hierarchy of states of information and energy, a seamless matrix of nothingness. What I used to write off as gobblygook now has meaning to me.
The author's emphasis on Failure as good finally resonates with me. I have just closed the door on fifteen years of trying to help governments get in touch with the 96% of the information they do not and cannot steal, and as I reflect back on all that leads to the founding of the Earth Intelligence Network, I see a string of failures that led to this day:
Refused an offer from Lloyd's Bank Internation to join US Marine Corps
Average infantry officer, accepted by CIA because of background
Resigned from CIA when I found the clandestine service corrupt
Resigned from the Civil Service as founder of USMC Intelligence Center when the lawyers refused to let me run another conference on Open Source Intelligence (OSINT)
Abandoned effort to help US Government specificially in achieving access to the 96%v via a Multinational Decision Support Center, when too many factors precluded engagement.
Now I am here, about to begin my true life's work as intellligence officer to the five billion poor (and to those corporations that wish to follow the green to gold path, as well as those foundations that wish to use a global impact plan to armonize their spending for poverty, disease, environmental degradation and so on).
"Failing" at infantry, spying, bureaucracy was all a prelude to my life's work--I cannot yet say it is destiny, but my published books are now starting to show a pattern, and the next three (all free online as well as offered via Amazon, now, finally, "make sense:" Collective Intelligence: Creating a Prosperous World at Peace; Peace Intelligence: Assuring a Good Life for All; and Commercial Intelligence: From Moral Green to Golden Peace.
This book, which has two sections, one offering a page (sometimes more) on 26 steps, followed by one on 25 quantities of a unified field, is real and it is not at all squishy. I'd like to see more hard-nosed CEOs and others give this book a chance.
Some other items I have enjoyed over the years that you might like also:

What the Bleep Do We Know!?
- Deepak Chopra in Creating Affluence writes about life and how you get what you want. Not only hard work and focus but by applying all the spiritual principles; letting go, surrender, faith, positive thinking, meditation and prayer. Creating Affluence is a guide literally from A to Z. And "Z" stand for the Zest of life. Staying upbeat and "facing life with abandon." The best part of this book is the daily reminder that we must stay strong and positive, give back to other people, and use our talents in the best possible way.

- I love to hear Mr. Chopras talks, but his books, at least the ones I've tried to read, are not so interesting. He tends to go off on tangents and the result is confusion. He has a couple of novels out as well. Please, don't bother with these, especially if you're accustomed to great fiction. But I shouldn't talk, off on a tangent of my own. So back to this book. I didn't become affluent, did you?
- This book is simple and could be read in a very short amount of time... that is if you choose to finish it. I did not finish it. I just could not get into it. I loved The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success: A Practical Guide to the Fulfillment of Your Dreams and would recommend it to everyone. This book just fell short in my eyes.

3 comments about Magical Mind, Magical Body : Mastering the Mind/Body Connection for Perfect Health and Total Well-Being.
- Chopra offers many profound insights here about the body's relation to the mind. He identifies the three main personality groups and the reader is instructed to choose which one best describes him/her. From there, he tells what kind of food, music, activities, etc the person may be drawn to. Most of these are accurate observations and, while everyone may not agree with all of his suggestions, there are many things here you can do to reach your optimum health and potential.
Among my favorite parts are:
1) The kinds of foods that satisfy cravings. The different personalities require different things to satisfy their hunger cravings. Some may require bitter foods while others need sweet foods or pickles. This can help cut back on overeating and help you lose weight.
2) Wait five minutes after you eat before you go back for more. This helps the food settle and also cuts back on overeating.
3) Dealing with emotions. Anger and rage can effect your health. He gives exercises in which you can identify the feelings and make them go away.
There are several more subjects he covers. Some are a little out there. For instance, he suggests food has a better effect on the body if you eat in complete silence and think about nothing but you eat while you are doing so. Good luck with that if you eat in restaurants or with friends or family... Overall, he makes many good points. Some things I knew all along but never put conscious thought to, which proves his point that the body and the mind are connected and the body thinks and feels just as much as the mind. He also narrates the audiobook himself. I don't usually read self help books, but this one was worth the time and money. I'll definitely read more of his work.
- This audio book is a must hearing for everyone who seeks health.
But it's missing the written manual. and in the audio he is always referring to it!!
Why?
- This is a must have in the collection for antone who is on the continuous journey of self growth.

3 comments about The Power of Intuition.
- This CD set is a lovely and wonderful CD to listen to. It was fun and informative.
I enjoyed that this was a lecture from the past and it has the spontaneity, humor, and feeling of being right there with them in the moment.
It was a CD that I would recommend to anyone on the spiritual journey and looking for information that is grounded and sound in its perspecitve.
Enjoy it. I know that you will.
- It's funny that while attendance in more formal religions and churches seems to decline, an undeniable movement grows towards mankind's seeking some sort of answer, or path -- much like has been done for thousands and thousands of years.
Chopra points out in his endlessley entertaining and educating style the fact that a) world religions are all telling the same exact story underneath the veil of politics and power, and b) the path we seek was being taught 1000 years before Christ walked in Palestine or Muhamed entered the cave with the angel. But the message is the same -- find yourself and you'll find more joy and happiness than any organization or ritual could ever provide. God-- or whatever you need or want to name him/her/it/them is alive in all of us -- and is our consciousness, for that matter. We're toys that the power that made this universe created for entertainment and growth, and we should do it while we have the chance.
- This CD got me really interested in Intuition healing and I really enjoyed the conversation with Deepak and Judith Orloff. Very easy to listen to.

5 comments about The Cosmic Mind and Submanifest Order of Being.
- I LISTEN TO THIS CD AGAIN AND AGAIN, AND FIND SUBTLE, NEW INFORMATION EACH TIME. AMAZING.
- This is the first CD I purchased that helped me to understand what was going on in my own mind. It has a little humor, a little bit of science and the other side reality. A little hard to hear at times because it is an open discussion but well worth listening to if you have ever experienced a coincidence of any sort. I now expect coincidences everyday with a deeper understanding of staying connected to source all the time.
- Very useful & insightful for the expantion of holistic living.
- Really enjoyed listening to this LIVE CD! When I listened, I felt like I was in the audience. This is very inspiring as well as very entertaining. This is a less formal CD by Dr. Chopra than the non live CD's, a joy to listen to and I will continue to listen to this CD over and over! In my opinion, ALL of Deepak Chopra's CD's are wonderful. I own over 12 of the CD's and all of the cassettes that Dr. Chopra has ever written. Since 1995, I have listened to Dr. Chopra's audio books and have read 6 of his books as well. All of them I still own and refer to.
- Deepak Chopra is delightful to listen to. His anecdotes are warm and humorous like his voice, and he pops in laugh-out-loud one liners even though his presentation is anything but dry. Here he digresses at the very beginning of his talk to wax lyrical about how we manifest according to the tenets of Vedanta, and I think, uh-oh, I've had as much of The Secret as I can take. But it's not like that at all; the wisdom of the ancients and the zero point field and a healthy dose of quantum physics and contemporary medical technology all make for a new perspective on a bit of a tired topic.
He stresses the importance of science proving spirituality to get the myths out of the way and the truth demonstrable to all. Pearls of wisdom pop out all over the place, like where is memory stored? - in the brain or in the quantum field (Akashic record)? What is the nature of past, present and future, and does it all exist simultaneously? Is God a dead white guy? How do we really manifest our reality, and where is it stored before we pluck it out of the ether? What is the nature of our past lives and karma, and lots of other little gems that I've forgotten but I'll pick up again because this is one of my favourite car CD's for driving.
Enjoy. It's a good price too.

4 comments about Whispers of Spirit & Happiness: Affirmational Soundtracks for Positive Learning.
- I have known Deepak Chopra for a number of years and came across Don Miguel Ruiz through a friend. Their wisdom teaching is complementary and supplementary. The combination of both teachers in one package, spoken and sung by inspiring voices is a synergetic treasure!
- I feel both inspired and soothed while using this product. I listen often, sometimes as background music while working on my computer and sometimes at bedtime before falling sleep. I highly recommend this product.
- The CD does what it promised. Soft and varied musical themes as undertones to spoken affirmations. Unfortunately, it was not what I had expected, so I was disappointed. Not the fault of the CD, just a gap between my reading of the blurb and the intention of the producers
- These are great. The music and the inspirational statements. Easy to listen to as you drive. Uplifting.

5 comments about The Third Jesus: The Christ We Cannot Ignore.
- I like to feel led by Jesus's teaching. I think this book really explains what was going though his head, and how we might attempt to be like (close) to him.
- What I like most about any book that Deepak writes is his depth of wisdom and his committment to living a contemplative life. One clear sign of this wisdom is his appreciation and agility in being able to contemplate his subject from multiple points of view. Thus, whatever he concludes is born out of this desire for a deep and broad understanding...an intuition to the wholeness of Spirit.
I was raised Catholic, well educated and inspired by the story of God, Paradise, Jesus and his profound love and sacrifice for all Being. A few priests and nuns were also inspiring. Yet for myself and many other baby boomers, the religious culture of our time barely registered on any scale of true Love, Peace or Wisdom. Far more important than what we are told to believe when we are young and open is the energy signature of the environment in which the teaching happens. Unfortunately, our modern Western model of a sane and loving world viewed from within our organized religions offers very little for those of us with precocious natures. We need more than platitudes, dogmas, rules of engagement sourced in fear and hypocracies that anyone with a modicum of insight can plainly see.
I believe that Deepak is more credible than most spiritual teachers in that he appears truly interested in your spiritual unfolding and fulfillment. He is also wise enough to perceive that there are significant resistences and challenges to the heightening of the human awareness of the Christ Consciousness or any enlightened state of being. Deepak has clearly brought Jesus into his own unfolding through his research, contemplation and sharing. Yes...this book is Deepak's interpretation of the meaning and purpose of the Jesus story, the Jesus life and Christ Consciousness. He writes it as he sees and intuits it. I for one, simply resonate with his insight and inspiration. He offers many practical ways that every lover of Jesus can explore their own state of consciousness in a context inspired by Jesus himself, as far as we can know him from the past. No one can make dogma (past) out of wisdom or love (Presence). All Truth is alive and flowing throughout each moment of life and the form of life changes as we unfold. Anyone who is willing to inspire and add to this unfoldment has my deepest admiration for their efforts. I can also consciously appreciate the sign of our times that is found in the merging of the spiritual wisdoms from East and West. Common sense should never go unnoticed. The Third Jesus has added to my appreciation and love for the Spirit we call Jesus. For this I am deeply grateful.
Sundance Burke, Author Free Spirit: A Guide to Enlightened Being
- Am only about a quarter of the way into this book but it seems well written and resonates well with me. Aside from what has been taught by religious doctrine and supported by many scriptures, Deepak talks about what he believes Jesus really meant when he said many of the things we remember and quote all the time.
- Third Jesus was thought provoking. Good historical research? No. A threat to Christianity? Hardly. A definitive interpretation of the meaning of the life of Jesus of Nazareth? Certainly not. It does however, give the author's interpretation of some aspects of the life of Jesus as reported in the New Testament. Anyone, including the many bloggers here, who purports to know beyond a shadow of a doubt and with total objectivity who a man who lived over 2,000 years ago was, how he lived each moment, and what that man's exact thoughts were is kidding herself. We cannot say for certain who the person Jesus was or what his life meant. His existence (finite, infinite, or both) has meant a lot to very many people. His life has been interpreted many times in many ways. Chopra, an author who makes a living giving his opinion, explains his own interpretation in Third Jesus. Neither Third Jesus nor Chopra are a threat to Jesus or Christianity. Neither are they definitive explanations for how existence works. If you are of a mind to ponder Chopra's take on Jesus, then Third Jesus is a fun interesting read. If you are not, simply don't read it or stop at the point you no longer enjoy it. Both the glowing reviews and the venomous ones are disturbing for what they imply about the writers. Third Jesus is a philosphical opinion. If you have trouble understanding that, read the Bible and try to do some objective, factual research on Jesus, the Christian church, the origin of the Bible, world history, etc., etc., and form your own opinion. Third Jesus may be thought-provoking but is unlikely to bring anyone to enlightenment or to threaten God, whatever you conceive God to be. I liked the book on CD. I listened to it a couple of times in rapid succession to keep me alert on a long car ride alone. I bought it primarily because I've read some other Chopra books and they always seemed to make me feel good and assume a more positive outlook. For me, Third Jesus is the equivalent of watching someone smile - it makes you more likely to smile yourself - nothing more. Chopra's book got me to think about Jesus and God and that nearly always brightens my day.
- Deepak Chopra explores the 3 dimensions of Jesus that leads us to our own individual spiritual path and ultimately to the collective consciousness.
We are not to enter the spiritual dimension only for our own sake; this would be self-centered and egoistic but to re-connect with our inner self so that we may inter-connect with one another. This is not only a personal journey but a social journey.
The spiritual goal is to become one in unity with all of creation and become co-creators for a better world for all beings.
This was Jesus' message 2000 years ago. Jesus is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. He is the Word made flesh.

5 comments about Why Is God Laughing?: The Path to Joy and Spiritual Optimism.
- This book is more like an essay. Not too much here 'tho somewhat interesting story.
- "Either you're a person wondering if you have a soul, or you're a soul who knows that being a person isn't real." - From the book
For comedian Mickey Fellows, life is about to get very interesting.
On the heels of his father's death, Mickey meets a mysterious stranger named Francisco on the beach. Tucking riddles in his clothing, posing profound questions and inviting Mickey to engage in some potentially embarrassing--even dangerous--situations will forever alter the jaded comedian.
Who is Francisco? Out of all the people in L.A., why did he pick Mickey for an enigmatic "process"? Will Mickey have to trade his sense of humor--his very livelihood--in order to become fearless? Or is it like Mickey's dead father says: God is laughing...always?
So what is it that God's laughing about? What does Mickey's dead father know now that he's on the other side--and wants desperately to communicate to his son? And what does spirituality have to do with off-color jokes and humor in general?
In the novel Why Is God Laughing, prolific author, spiritual teacher and medical doctor Deepak Chopra offers readers an entertaining parable about one man confronting his deepest fears during his unusual interactions with a man named Francisco. As he begins to ask questions about life and his reason for being, Mickey echoes the musings of millions in these hectic times.
Originally, I had bought Why Is God Laughing? as a Father's Day present for my husband, especially since he enjoys Chopra's storytelling in both his fiction and non-fiction books. Turns out, though, that *I* ended up devouring it before my husband could even begin reading!
And a thoroughly enjoyable read it was--especially as it's filled with hilarious jokes!
Here are a few of the interesting passages I highlighted throughout the book as I was reading:
* "Death is life on another frequency. The music doesn't end just because someone can't hear it."
* "Fear cannot be trusted."
* "You will correct the mistake that lies at the very root of victimization: a belief that the movie controls you, instead of the other way around."
* "Once you have authorship of your self, you come out of silence into activity to write your own story."
* "Whatever captivates you is also trying to wake you up."
* "So how does God want us to grow, in what direction, according to what guidelines? None. You get to grow the way you want to, by following your own desires...The things that deeply interest you play the role of God."
* "...take your place inside the drama with confidence. Everything is as it should be. The role assigned to you is right and proper. It is tailor-made for you, for your complete self."
In the tradition of Father Joseph Girzone's Joshua series, Why Is God Laughing? presents gentle challenges from a humble stranger. Timeless and universal truths are shared in a non-threatening way throughout the story, and Chopra shares invaluable spiritual insight at the end with ten transformational principles that--if understood and applied--can be a powerful catalyst for real change.
Do you wonder what happens when people die? Do you fear death? Does fear paralyze you from doing what you love--or from taking risks to find out? Do you wonder if life on Earth is "all there is"? Have you bought into the idea that there is sacred and profane, that there is a literal hell and a literal heaven? Does God even care what you do here on Earth?
And why, oh why, is God laughing?
Join comedian Mickey Fellows on an journey that illuminates some possible answers to those questions--and to discover how to fearlessly be the best "you" possible!--through the engaging book Why Is God Laughing?
Janet Boyer, author of The Back in Time Tarot Book: Picture the Past, Experience the Cards, Understand the Present
- Wow! I have always loved Deepak Chopra and have a lot of respect for him. Maybe this book would be uplifting to someone VERY new to a spiritual path. I have a very active sense of humor and hardly laughed at all reading this book. I found the humor to be painful! The spiritual teachings at the end of the book are worth a read - but I honestly don't feel like this book ever answers the question "Why is God Laughing"?
- This is probably the funniest book Deepak has written and at the same time points to the TRUTH.................we make God out to be this judging monster...............then we realize that God doesn't judge, we do and we are the monsters, our own worst enemies!!!
- this was the 4th book ive bought from deepak chopra...its an interesting book...especially the end, where he gives "10 principles for spiritual optimism"...although i enjoyed the story in this book,id recommend "the third jesus",..."soul of healing Affirmations" and "the soul of healing Meditations". these audiobooks/albums really helped a lot.

5 comments about Sacred Verses, Healing Sounds, Volumes I and II: The Bhagavad Gita, Hymns of the Rig Veda (Chopra, Deepak).
- If you're practicing Transcendental Meditation and have gone to a few lectures on TM, maybe even a residence course or two, you've probably been introduced to the Bhagavad Gita. Deepak tells the story of Arjuna and the conflict facing him as he goes to the battle field, the role of Krishna and ties this all together in a profound revelation of what the transcendent field is. It is an excellent refresher of some of the lectures given by Maharishi. Of course, Maharishi conveys the story from a different level of consciousness, the God level. Deepak tells the story more from the "awake" field of consciousness which is effective for non-meditators. He conveys the deeper meaning behind the stroy to great effect nevertheless. The means soooo much more, however, if you learn the practice of TM. This reading is also good for sidhas too as Deepak also brings out some pointers for this practice as well. This is also an excellent CD even if you'r not a practicing TMer. Deepak teaches meditation to the listener by using the breath as a mantra. The only drawback is the background sitar music. It's ok just for the first few times, but Deepak should say that in actual practice, the only condition for meditation is practicing it in silence.
- This AudioBook is great! Inspirational, Soothing, and Informative! I have listened to this set a number of times, always finding something new. Deepak Chopra is a true master of pen and spirit.
- I was disappointed to discover Dr. Chopra's commentary throughout all three CD's. From the write up, I had expected educational commentary in the first parts followed by a more relaxing meditative series. It was not relaxing or meditative because one must listen intently to understand him and the three CD's are almost entirely background music for his educational commentary. Wish I could get my money back.
- There is more talking than I anticipated, I thought it would be recited verses/songs, but is lots of Deepak talking over background music. I have a hard time listening to it, and would not recommend anyone buying it. This is the first Deepak product I have really been disappointed with.
- Sacred Verses is very abstract. It is a recording of selected ancient Veda literature translated into English. The verses are very simple. I could have just read the Vedas in book form. I do not receive any benefit from listening to the Vedas on CD form other than becoming familiar with the content of the Vedas. I would not have purchased this CD had I had a chance to preview it first. It is useless knowledge unless you have the intent to study the Vedas. I had initially purchased the CD set to learn about the Vedas, but all I have learned is that the Vedas are simplistic prayers (my prayers are more meaningful). There is nothing to really benefit from listening to this CD set.
Chopra, however, presents a clear voice and diction.

5 comments about The Book of Secrets: Unlocking the Hidden Dimensions of Your Life (Deepak Chopra).
- This book is amazing just like all others I've read from Chopra. I'm about halfway through this but I know it's going to be very good the whole way through. He wrote this book in a moment of crisis a few years after his father's passing which gave him new hope. And it seems to be doing the same for me so far, it is inspiring and can be transformational if you let it. I recommend it if you're interested in the mysterious dimensions in life.
- The thing I like best about Deepak Chopra is his uncanny ability to express complex philosophical and spiritual ideas in a way that makes the material immeniently readable and therefore understandable. I always get that feeling, "Oh, I knew that," when I read his books. He causes me to remember things I didn't know I knew.
- I bought this book as a gift, which my college-age son has enjoyed. His chiropractor suggest the book. He found inspiration and some new ideas to contemplate in this work.
At our house, the book gave us a fun topic of spiritual discussion for family dialogs.
- "The Book of Secrets" is the most spiritually focused book by Deepak. He explores spiritual ideas with depth and wisdom that is refreshing and thought-provoking. You find yourself undertaking a unique quest where you're chartering into hidden parts of your self. Sounds dangerous?
Well don't worry with Deepak as your guide you're safe. So plunge into the depths of this book and learn a thing or two about life that you didn't realize before or just plain forgot.
Besides this book you need to read "Nexus" by Deborah Morrison. It's a fantastic exploration! You'll learn about life's journey both in the spiritual highs and lows. I love its message of unity, spiritual growth and compassion.
"Nexus: A Neo Novel"
- This is a great book and among my top favorites. At times it went over my head but i am sure i may understand some things later.

5 comments about The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success: A Practical Guide to the Fulfillment of Your Dreams - The Complete Book on CD (Chopra, Deepak).
- A condensed version of what should be required reading for living, broken down into seven days, Sun. thru Sat. This is not self help in the usual sense. Deepak Chopra, and often co-author David Simon, both MD's, has written some 50 books explaining the universe and our place in it. Topics range from quantum physics to ancient and modern medicine to parenting. This one hour read of spiritual laws is a great introduction.
This is really good stuff !
- follow these simple lifely steps and you will be a amazing person and feel great about yourself will get you to where you need to be in life
- I first purchased this book in 1995 and have read it countless times since. This is my go to book. When I am feeling down or feel that the things are getting too heavy, this book helps every time. It contains all the principles that one needs to live a rich and balanced life. The Law of Pure Potentiality has stuck with me from the first time that I read it and continues to provide me strength to believe in myself.
The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success is easy to read and the wisdom that it contains is presented in a format that makes understanding the laws effortless. I enjoy each time I read it.

- The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success have a lot of good concepts to carry the listener through to the approximately hour-long recording on each of two CDs. Chopra talks about developing detachment as a way to obtain the best out of life. One of the many concepts he talks briefly about is that attachment to money will not bring about security and happiness. He doesn't go into too much detail about each of the concepts because then we'd be buying 100 CDs. He does a good job of pulling the important complicated concepts and putting them into everyday words so that I understand what he's talking about.
This CD has a lot of philosophical, abstract concepts, so I listen to it over and over to digest and apply the concepts. In terms of a practical point of view, Chopra's diction is clear and his presentation is neat and well organized.
Overall, I think this CD is worth the cost.
- The book may be short and small, but the Spiritual concepts in it are very big. Spirituality has to be practical to have any real meaning in our lives, and most Spiritual books explain concepts in esoteric terms, but give no explanation of how to apply them in our every day lives.
This book gives clear and concise concepts and follows up with how to apply them in your daily life. Not to be missed!
