Sarbanes and Oxley are a couple shitheads who wrote legislation to make the lives of programmers miserable. It came as an answer to the Enron scandle, but had this legislation been around before Enron, it wouldn’t have made a godamn difference! The Enron stuff all came about from overly aggressive accounting rule interpretations. Also from things like make phone calls to have power plants shut down for testing to artificially create shortages, and raise prices. Jumping through a bunch of bureaucratic hoops to get the simplest things done, would have caused a problem for the Enron folks!

Screw you Sarbanes and Oxley! I used to enjoy my job a lot more before your bulls**t. Not I get a-holes telling me things like I can’t tranfser files without a password…and that I also can’t transfer the files WITH a password. When I ask how I am supposed to transfer the files, I just get a “that’s not my job”. Or trying to research errors that only happen on one machine, and not having access to that machine, and not being able recreate the errors on any other machine. Yeah, it’s loads of frigging fun!
