Schizoid Ramblings

Wesley Snipes has been indicted on charges of tax fraud for fraudulently claiming tax refunds of almost $12 million. An arrest warrant has been issued. He has also not filed federal income tax returns from 1999 through 2004. C’mon Wesley Snipes, you have made a lot of money, you need to pay your fair share!
Apparently Snipes is filming in Namibia, a country that coincidentally has no extradition to the United States.
I have always been a fan of his movies. But this really ticks me off! So until Snipes comes back to take responsibility, avoid watching movies with Wesley Snipes! Don’t buy or rent his movies. Don’t even watch them on TV! Don’t put any more money into his pockets until he

Apparently Apple shipped out a bunch of Video iPod that contained a windows virus RavMonE.exe. This virus does not affect the iPod Nano, iPod Shuffle, or the Mac computer. It only affects Windows. Apple said on its support site “As you might imagine, we are upset at Windows for not being more hardy against such viruses…” They don’t know how many were shipped with the virus, but are supposedly shipping virus free video iPods now.
I find this interesting, since the Mac vs. PC commercials that have been playing on TV lately often make reference to how PCs are more vulnerable to viruses than Macs. And here is Apple actually shipping it’s devices with Windows virus installed on them?
I wonder if Microsoft can sue Apple for this?

My wife went on a river cruise up into Canada with her mom and her sisters. When they came back, my sister-in-law gave me can of Montreal Style Coarse Steak Spice (made by Brickstone Fine Food) for my birthday. I love to cook and have lots of spices. A week or two later, I brought home a steak for our dinner, and I decided to try out the spice. First, I tried sprinkling it on to the steak, but because there are coarse ground stuff, and fine ground stuff in the spice, the coarse stuff rose to top. I found that using a small measuring spoon to scoop out the spice worked better to get a more even mix of the spices.
I grilled the steak on our Jenn-Air grill. Then it was time to eat. WOW! This stuff was good! There is a sweetness to it, as well as a little bit of peppery bite.
The ingredients are listed as “Spices, Dehydrated Onion, Celery Salt, Natural Flavor, Salt”.
I did a search and found that McCormick makes a Montreal steak spice mix called Gril Mates Montreal Steak Seasoning. It’s ingreditents are listed as “SALT, SPICES (INCLUDING BLACK PEPPER, AND RED PEPPER), GARLIC, PARTIALLY HYDROGENATED SOYBEAN OIL, NATURAL FLAVOR, AND EXTRACTIVES OF PAPRIKA.” I also found some recipes for Montreal Steak Seasoning, but they seemed to be for the McCormick version.

    Ingredients:
    4 tablespoons salt
    1 tablespoon black pepper
    1 tablespoon dehydrated onion
    1/2 tablespoon dehydrated garlic
    1/2 tablespoon crushed red pepper
    1/2 tablespoon dried thyme
    1/2 tablespoon dried rosemary
    1/2 tablespoon dried fennel

    Directions:
Mix together and store in a shaker.

If you can find the Brickstone Montreal Style Steak Spice, give it a try. It is very good!

Rock Star Supernova CD
I watched the whole season and enjoyed the show up to the end. If you have read my posts, you will know that I was not real big on Lukas Rossi being chosen. But oh well. Life goes on. Apparently a lot of other people are more than thrilled to have Lukas Rossi be the lead singer of the new Rock Star Supernova band. Their new self-titled CD Rock Star Supernova is scheduled for release on Novmber 21st. You can PRE-ORDER IT HERE.
