I had heard a few songs of hers, and wanted to hear more. I picked up her album Central Reservation today at the local library, and put a hold on another of her CDs as well.
I don’t really know how to describe her music. Maybe alternative-folk-pop? She sings with a nice voice, and plays guitar accompanied by drums, guitars and keyboards.
The songs I am most familiar with are Stolen Car, Central Reservation, and She Cries Your Name. The lyrics are kind of abstract, and I have no clue they mean, but they are pretty and interesting nonetheless.
A quick search on google reveals that she was born in Norwich, England in 1970. Listening to her voice and the music I would have never guessed she was British. I would have guessed she was from Canada.
She is cute in the handful of pictures in the liner notes with a freckled face and a grin, and eyes that seem to suggest a devilish sense of humor.
Central Reservation by Beth Orton.

The Anchorman DVD (Will Ferrell, Christina Applegate)
SUMMARY: Stupid! A great cast of actors, but this movie was just dumb!
I can’t believe I wasted my money buying this DVD. I bought it on sale on black friday, but I paid too much. This movie was just stupid! I never sell my DVDs. I keep them so I can watch them again later. This one I will probably resell! There were a lot of funny people in this movie, but their talents were wasted. I am not a big Will Ferrell fan…actually, it is not so much him, as the movies that he has been in. I have always liked Christina Applegate dating back to Married With Children. Ben Stiller, and Tim Robbins even had cameos. This movie was just dumb! Maybe I can sell it on Amazon, and recoup my money.
