1. I knew of Thomas Eakins' significance as a American artist of the late 19th Century, but that was all I knew. This incredibly sharp and clear (in more ways than visually) documentary gave me a lesson on this bold artist's philosophy that opened my eyes. With the story being told by Blythe Danner in the background, one is drawn into the struggles of Eakins to reach above and beyond in his art.

   Because this was done with High Definition TV equipment, it seems all that more detailed on a standard TV in VHS. This production exceeded my expectations of what today is mostly background with a few snippets of the artist's work. The pans and zooms of the work is just what is needed to elaborate the fine detail of Eakin's pieces.

   There is a fine segment showing how Eakins put together one of his works with his use of photographs. This new technology is state of the art in his time and the documentary shows off Eakins' brilliance and grasp of Photography and its promise. I highly reccommend this program.

1. Shirley Chisolm was the first African-American woman elected to be elected as part of the House of Representatives. In this film it's revolves about her bio and everything. It's really good and I recommend to all those people who are insterest in African-American's History. (PS: watch it! It's really good!)

1. Gene Griessman has succeeded - once again - in capturing the essence of Abraham Lincoln in his presentation. Mr. Griessman has captured the slightly stooped image along with the shuffled walk that characterized Mr. Lincoln. Best of all he is able to weave the actual words of Abraham Lincoln in his motivational speaking. Gene Grissman makes a living at motivational events and is able to incorporate the strengths of Abraham Lincoln in showing his audience how they can learn from the 16th President and his successes in a most difficult period of American history. It is not lost on Mr. Griessman that Lincoln was himself a motivator. For without the ability to see the strength in individuals and meld them into a team effort, the war would surely have been lost. But Mr. Lincoln motivated very diverse people - from his cabinet to members of congress to the public - toward a common goal. Mr. Griessman recognizes that and builds on it most effectively. It is nearly as though you had Abraham Lincoln in your own home to watch this tape. This tape is an excellent addition to your motivational library or your history library. You cannot go wrong.



2. Gene Griessman has once again - incorporated his ability to portray President Lincoln with his motivational messages. Mr. Griessman has the 16th President's slightly stoop shoulder, shuffled walk down to an art. He truly brings Mr. Lincoln to life by using Lincoln's own words to deliver his messages. It is obvious that Abraham Lincoln was a motivator, himself. For how else could he have melded a cabinet of such diverse talent and political persuasion into a team with a common goal . . . that of saving the union. He not only did that with his cabinet, but he did it with keeping the north on target through 4 ugly years of war. Gene Griessman speaks with Lincoln's words and delivers a wonderful series of motivational points. Bravo !

1. Excellent video. I was amazed that they obtained interviews with Pres. Nixon and Pres. Carter. Coverd many relevant parts of Peale''s life and the impact he had in America post-WWII. I wanted to go out and by his many books particularly The Power of Positive Thinking.
