WHAT THE LEGENDS SAY!, September 25, 2005
Reviewer: signed_books from United Kingdom "This book is fantastic. My close friends Tel Currie & Charlie Bronson finally tell the truth and venture into controversial territory that is usually shied away from. A must read for anyone remotely interested in the history of Britain's underworld"
Charlie Richardson
"Tel & Charlie have written a cracker! I don't usually have the attention span for books but this one I read cover to cover. I recommend 'Heroes and Villains' to everybody."
Roy 'Pretty Boy' Shaw
"A great book packed with the truth. Well done Tel and Charlie on a fantastic book."
Freddie Foreman
"Tel and Charlie have written a blinder! I'm not just saying that because they are both close friends but because this book is a real winner... I loved it"
Ronnie Knight
"Well done Tel and Chaz on an absolutely blinding book"
Carlton Leach
BRONSON'S TALENT IN THE WORLD OF ART AND LITERATURE IS PHENOMENONAL AS HE TURNS OUT MORE BOOKS THAN CHOPPER 'MARK BRANDON' WHICH IS GOING SOME, AND FAIR PLAY TO CHARLIE WHO OBVIOUSLY HAS A LOT OF TIME ON HIS HANDS FOR TEAMING UP WITH FRIEND OF THE CHAPS TEL CURRIE TO WRITE 'HEROES AND VILLIANS' AND IF ANYONE HAS READ TEL'S BESTSELLING 'BOUNCERS' BOOK AND IS AWARE OF THE FREE CHARLES BRONSON CAMPAIGN, THEN YOU HAVE THE IDEAL WRITING PARTNERSHIP HERE, WHICH ADDS WEIGHT TO THE THEORY THAT MR BRONSON AINT THAT MAD. TIME HE GOT PAROLE FOLKS IF ONLY TO SIGN THIS NEW BOOK, BUY IT NOW.

The Best Gangland Book In Years!!!, September 22, 2005
Reviewer: C Donovan from London, United Kingdom Just when you thought the Gangster/ Hardman books had died a slow death with
more and more nobodies with nothing to say appearing on our shelves, this
little cracker comes along.
Between them, there can't be many people in the underworld that Tel Currie
and Charlie Bronson don't know. The thing I like about this book is it's not
just the obvious names being churned out but people that are not known to
the public but are very respected amongst the main guys. There's not the usual
pages and pages of drivel about the Kray's, a subject that's been rinsed dry
usually by shameless mercenaries who waited until the Kray's were all dead
before churning out their version of the truth. This book is totally
different and is not just an excuse for the authors to actually write about
themselves.
With 'Heroes and Villains' you can actually learn about people with amazing
stories who you may not have heard of previously but you certainly won't
forget once you have read about their exploits. Of course, the well known
legends are all here like Charlie Richardson, Roy Shaw, Freddie Foreman,
Bruce Reynolds, Ronnie Biggs, Joey Pyle, Ronnie Knight, Frankie Fraser,
Howard Marks and Tony Lambrianou but they are balanced by names that made up
the support network that allowed these men to get to the top.
Charlie Bronson and Tel Currie have to be 2 of the most connected men in
Great Britain and this allows personal insights that you wont read anywhere
else. It's also interesting the amount of self proclaimed faces many who
have written books themselves who don't even get a mention because in
reality they are jokes.
If you have an interest in the names and faces that make up Gangland, this
is the book for you, you wont be able to put it down!
This is one of the very best underworld books out there at the moment

3 comments about Escape and Suicide of John Wilkes Booth: The First True Account of Lincoln's Assassination, Containing a Complete Confession of Booth Many Years Aft.
- All Lincoln scholars will find this book of interest particularly for when and how it was written. Had to have been a "bestseller" in 1908!
- When Lincoln was killed he was an old man of 56, while Booth was only 27 at the time of the assassination. I really can't figure why this fiction was written, as the travesty was done when John Wilkes Booth was gunned down from a slat in the barn. He had no way to escape!
It's just like the rumors which spun about Elvis Presley that he was an informant for the FBI and did not die of an overdose of drugs in his mansion in Memphis, Tennessee, that he was relocated to Germany. Do you think that man could have spent all these years hiding and not singing. No Way!
Just like the fiction that Booth lived to confess years later. Could he have gone on with his life without acting on the stage? Whyever would he confess and link the Vice President to the conspiracy. Andrew Johnson was supposed to have been abducted at the same time as Lincoln, only his assailant got too drunk to do the deed. Now, this little myth maker tries to make us think that he was in on the kill of Lincoln so that he could take over. He had his hands full of the reconstruction and other things which were continually going wrong. He was definitely not like Lincoln in any way, but a man from Tennessee who had been governor of this Volunteer State would never have done that. Now Texas is another matter altogether. Why this was written, I'll never know! It's just not worth the bother to look at, or read trash about an honorable assassin. He had health problems and perhaps though he was dying anyway. Who will ever know? No one who reads this volume in history.
- This book is great and he did act on stage after the assassination. Why the other person wrote that this book is not worth reading I will never know. It shows two pictures of Booth after the assassination when he was living under an alias. It is filled with evidence. If you would like to know who was killed in the barn instead of Booth you should read "Return of the Assassin John Wilkes Booth". It is filled with new evidence. Both of these books are must reads.

2 comments about Grace and Mercy: My Path to Redemption.
- This is one man's testimony to the power of God, and that is enough for any of us to stand up and take note. However, the author's knack for telling a story is a little disappointing. I heard the author on a radio program telling an interviewer some stories of his life, and it whetted my appetite to hear the "rest of the story." Unfortunately, after reading the book I was still waiting to hear it! The author begins stories and leaves out the who, what, where, when, why and how of the story. Wesley Smith tells of the desperate situation he found himself in (e.g., convicted of murder!!), but other than crediting God with deliverance, fails to get specific about how God worked to release him from prison - I've read many life stories of men and women who have been freed by God's power, which is often unexplainable, but their stories provide insight into feelings, and what specific things happened, to give God the glory. After reading this book, I was thankful that Weley Smith had a story to tell, but wished he had told it better.
- I read this book w/i an hour. Just as another reviewer wrote "To Short" I actually wished their was more to the story than what was written. However, I got the point. I couldn't help but give God the praises after reading this book. I would look foward to reading something else from this author in the feature.

4 comments about American Maverick in Japan: The Rick Roa Story.
- AFTER LIVING 35 YEARS IN JAPAN , THIS BOOK TELLS IT ALL!
IF ANY ONE IS INTERESTED IN WHAT LIFE IS LIKE IN JAPAN THIS GUY DID IT ALL! BUT HE DOES NOT TELL US EVERYTHING, SO MY REQUEST IS TO THE AUTHOR IS GIVE US THE SEQUEL, & TELL US EVERYTHING THAT WAS NOT INCLUDED. ONE COULD VICARIOUSLY APPRECIATE THIS CHARACTER'S LIFE AS HE LIVED IT & IS STILL LIVING IT. WHATEVER YOU DO DON'T GO TO JAPAN WITHOUT READING THIS BOOK. IT'S A PAGE-TUNER, INTELLIGENT , AND A LOT OF FUN TO READ.
- Never having been to Japan, this book peaks my interest to do so.
Also Rick Roa's life as depicted in this book, is interesting enough to be made into a movie and Tony Teora's writing skills suggest he be the screenwriter.
- Rick Roa was in the right place (Tokyo) at the right time (1970s, 1980s, 1990s). There weren't so many foreigners in Tokyo then, and it was like the Wild West for entrepreneurs. Now those pioneering days are over and the corporations have taken over most of the exciting business opportunities and have driven away the mavericks, the cowboys, and the samurai. But if you let the odds squash your dreams, then you might as well crawl back into the womb!
- What a great book! If you've had the pleasure of living or spending any time in Japan, you'll love these stories of the ever-changing city of Tokyo, as told by Rick Roa, a successful if unorthodox, American entrepreneur. He really gets to the heart of what makes this city so irresistable to so many Americans and Europeans. Even if you have no interest in Japan, pick up a copy of the book for its inspirational value. The story of a poor kid from Brooklyn surviving the streets on his own and then going on to see the world and finally making it big. And from the anecdotes in the book, seems like he had a great time along the way! And thanks to the fine writing of Tony Teora, I feel like I've spent a few hours drinking beer with a good friend and listening to the stories of a great man. I didn't want it to end.
