  1. This provides a really good historical treatment to the development of economics as we know it today. Skoussen clearly favors the Austrian school, and libertarian style capitalism, but even that's great because our economics schooling in this country is pathetic. This provides a great overall feel for economics and you can work your way into more detailed stuff from here.

1 comments about Maria Callas: In Her Own Words.
  1. The best parts of this bio are the interviews with Callas: you get a feeling for her emotions about events as they unfolded in her life. This is especially true close to the end of her life where the grief from her failed relationship with Onassis is so evident in her voice. Generous samples of Callas's key performances are also woven into the bio. I had never heard Callas sing so these samples were welcome and helpful in understanding Callas. (Her antics on the stage and behind the curtain are how you get to know Callas best. Not to mention that the samples allow you to witness firsthand the fiery, brave voice that made her famous). Overall, this was a strong, unconventional bio on a tragic heroine of the stage. I enjoyed it in its entirety.

  1. I enjoyed the book Clara Barton because it was a very inspiring book. Whenever she had a goal she would never give up on it. I thought it was very nice she would go all the way to the top just to help people and I think it's a great book for you to read!

  2. I really liked this book because I really like to learn about different people. To know who Clara Barton is and what she did is very exciting. People who like reading about famous people and what they did would really like this book.

  3. I ENJOY READING ABOUT HISTORY ...I THINK CLARA BARTON WAS A VERY BRAVE PERSON AND I WOULD LIKE TO WORK WITH THE RED CROSS SOME DAY AND HELP PEOPLE.

  4. Clara Barton proved that even shy people can do great things and overcome their fears. It is very inspirational! (I loved seeing my daughter reading for enjoyment!!)

2 comments about Elsie's Motherhood: Library Edition.
  1. I love all of the Elsie Dinsmore books, but this is one of my favorites. Elsie Dinsmore Travilla makes a wonderful Christian parent along with her husband Edward. Their children are not perfect, just like all of mankind, and yet they train their children in a godly way. As always, one can see how Elsie puts her faith in God, especially when the Ku Klux Klan attacks their house in the intent to harm her husband, and when her eldest child, Elsie, becomes very sick. Also, she learns to grieve for herself and for others, yet rejoice for those who are Christians and have only gone before to that wonderful place called heaven. I recommend this book to girls and ladies of all ages, mothers, married, and single.

  2. "Elsie's Motherhood" is one of my favorite Elsie books. Elsie is a good mother to her children, and her children are very virtuous and obedient. I think Elsie handles her children's problems very well. I enjoyed reading this book, and it is very well-written for girls of all ages.
