  1. Ordered over the internet. It was the right fit, but it simply generated too much pain on the points on my ankles in both feet. From what I gather, this problem is not unique to this boot, but many short boots at that 4 inch level. The boot itself was solid and very well put together. It was technically just what I wanted, but after trying to break it in for 2 days in the house I had to send them back. That leather top rim you see on the boot was just too unforgiving.

The vendor was outstanding regarding the return and refund. No problems with them.

I got a 6 inch boot later and now I don't have the problems around the ankles.

  1. I even got these things soaked with nasty waterpark water. They do not smell at all. The AG ion is incredible. They are extremely comfortable. I am buying another pair of these in case they don't make them when these finally go bad.

  1. I bought these for a friend (not work; vascular problems & needed something cheap for winter. Imagine my surprise when, upon ordering a size smaller & sending back the wrong size the box was returned to me w/ a "no forwarding address" notation. Unless you plan on keeping them should there be a problem I wouldn't recommend them. No F/W address?????

  2. I've owned 3 pairs of these when i was a kid.

The soles are marking. If you stomp on something or drag your feet, you will leave dark thick black marks.

The toe likes to come unglued from the sole. I reccomend shoe goo.

The leather, if it can be called such, is coated with plastic of some sort. It's not spit shineable.

The boots are decently light and somewhat wearable. They get 3 stars because they're cheap.

  3. We purchased these boots for my husband who works in the construction field(mainly insulation instalation) which requires him to climb in high places, walk on trusses, and also be under floors sometimes in standing water and other harsh weather conditions. In my opinion these boots DO NOT have "heavy duty" rubber soles at all but cheap soles that start to rub and crumble almost immediately under working conditions. There is also no arch or foot support inside the boot itself. There is a piece of leather saying "Made in China" and that's it. The tag even reccomends getting some sort of insole. The worst part is that on the tag of the boot it states that you should get the next size up than what your normal boot size is. The seller did not state this fact. All in all, if you are purchasing these boots for long term wear or work related activities I DO NOT reccomend them. If they are for a teenager making a fashion statement or for a Halloween costume they're perfect.

  1. Skeptical about ordering boots by mail, I took a chance and found they fit perfectly. I already have many boots in that size, so felt pretty confident that I'd get a deal. It is a great price, as locally, such boots would be priced at far more than this was. Because Amazon has such a great return policy, I took the chance and this paid off handsomely. I did some 2,000 miles of hiking last year, and will use such a comfortable boot, lightweight and fine for my purposes. I haven't determined how waterproof they are, as they are not Gore-Tex or anything, but it's usually pretty fine weather when I go out hiking.

I was considering buying another pair, as this is such a great deal, again. But I'm sure Amazon will have more such good buys, and the same boot again tends to not be my style.

  2. Great traction and nice, hard compound at the toe and heel. The treads at the side/edge are smaller, rubbery teeth, and I had concerns they might wear out quicker than a traditional hiker, but there is no sign of extraordinary wear, so far. They feel really natural on my feet. Stiff in the shank, and really flexible in the ball. True to size, in my opinion. My first pair of Columbias, and not likely to be my last.

  3. Exactly as advertised, that doesn't happen very often but these trail shoes match my expectations. Made in China, sure, but a good build quality, no corners being cut here. Great value for the price, and the fit is exactly true to size.

  4. Nice and comfortable to walk in. 4th pair of Columbia's that I have bought.

  5. My husband likes to wear anything from Columbia and these shoes are no exception. He said they are really comfortable, even on the first wear. They also seem to fit true to size.
