3 comments about Men's Keen Targhee II.

  1. I saw the shoe and liked the look so I asked for my size. When the sales assistant brought it out I quickly laced them up and put them on. I was blown away. When the sales rep returned and asked how they were I said "These are the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn" and that was no exaggeration. He went on to mention that they build their shoes not based on shoe size but on arch length. I don't know what that means in terms of the science of how the foot operates but they seem to be onto something. This is a comfy well made shoe it's functionality will be put to the test out on the trail.

  2. Outstanding stable shoe, roomy forefoot that is supportive on sharp rocks, as well as a heel that doesn't slip. Getting both of those in one shoe has been a long standing problem for me. It is also quick to get in and out of.
I feel I made an excellent purchase!

  3. From the same company that makes the terrific "Newport H2" sandal with the super natural "metaomical design" fit. The Keen Targhee is like wearing a Humvee for your feet. It with waterproof construction for dry feet and an agressive outsole with 4 millimeter lugs that bite deep into the terrain for excellent traction. And they have the famous Keen toe bumper.

It is very waterproof as I can attest to. The waterproof leather upper helps keep feet dry on rainy days and muddy trails. It has an interior waterproof liner bootie too. The special carbon rubber outsoles are similar to the ones on the Keen Sandals, very grippy and non-marking, and they never seem to show any wear. They are multi-directional and dig in, but are not slippery on wet surfaces like rocks or cement in rain or surf. They come in few colors, but the colors have weird names. "Shadow" is an olive for example.

It has a good secure fit laceup capture system that do not come untied like my other tennies did. THe straps have a little reflective feature to them. Htey have a nice pull-on strap at the heel. They are light in weight at only 14 ounces for the pair. On sizing, I reccommend buying one full size larger than usual.

  1. Ordered over the internet. It was the right fit, but it simply generated too much pain on the points on my ankles in both feet. From what I gather, this problem is not unique to this boot, but many short boots at that 4 inch level. The boot itself was solid and very well put together. It was technically just what I wanted, but after trying to break it in for 2 days in the house I had to send them back. That leather top rim you see on the boot was just too unforgiving.

The vendor was outstanding regarding the return and refund. No problems with them.

I got a 6 inch boot later and now I don't have the problems around the ankles.

  1. We like our hardrocks for city walking in the mean, rugged, uneven Bangkok streets... Lately my wife has problems with her feet hurting, and we think that the HardRocks may be too hard for daily walking and working out use for her... But these are sturdy, yet comfortable shoes... Highly recommended...

  2. Hardrock Trail Runner - Men's by Montrail
Shoes top quality though tight in width; would prefer tab on back to use in putting on the shoes.

  3. I've been a road runner for many years and have done quite a few marathons and a few trail ultras as well. In the last few years I've been starting to do more trail running. Recently I finally decided to look into buying trail running shoes--I've always just used my favorite road shoes, the Brooks Beast. Now I know what I've been missing! The Montrail Hardrocks are outstanding. The stiff sole means you're not feeling the sharp rocks and roots underneath. They've got really good protection for the toes too. For someone looking for a sturdy trail running shoe for hard trails, including trail marathons and ultras--this is the way to go.

1 comments about Men's Vasque® Velocity Trail Runners.

  1. I'm an avid trail runner and wore the Montrail Leona Divide trail shoes for years and loved them. Montrail decided to discontinue the Leona Divide leaving many searching for an alternative. On the recommendation of a friend, I took a chance on the Vasque Velocity and am very satisfied with this shoe. Similar to the Leona Divide, the Vasque Velocity has a stable platform with stiff heel and arch support. The toe box is not as wide as the Leona, but offers excellent protection from the roots and rocks. The shoe is true to size. I am 6 ft and 180 lbs and need a sturdy platform for running on miles of technical trail in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Right out of the box, I wore this shoe on a 21 mile trail run in Shenandoah National Park on miles of the rocky Appalachian Trail with six stream crossings and experienced absolutely no problems with this shoe. Only time will tell how they stand up to the abuse I'm about to throw at them.

3 comments about Rockport Men's Westlake Active Casual Boot.

  1. I have owned many varieties of boots and casual shoes over the years. These are the best, simply the best. They have a well constructed firm structure, light weight, well cushioned soles, and never let the water in. They look so good they can actually double for casual dress shoes. If your pant comes down the ankle, the top and sides are so attractive, you can wear them with everything from jeans to dress pants. I actually cannot believe the price listed here. My only regret was that I paid full price almost 1 year ago.

  2. These arrived today for my husband. They look great and my husband says so far they're really comfortable. The price can't be beat. These are a great deal on a quality name brand shoe.

  3. I have owned at least one pair of Rockport dress shoes for the past 11 years. When I came time to look for a boot to wear in rainy weather. I decided to look at the XCS. When I saw the great price I had ordered on the spot.

I used the free super saver shipping and the package arrived in 2 days!!

I have been wearing them to work (I commute by bike) and am very pleased with the comfort. They sole is thick but light, and very comfortable. They are high enough to tuck under my rain gear (very important in PA) and they are already water proof.

There was a brief (1-2 day) break in period where they were stiffer then I would have liked but now they are quite flexible.

My wife loves the style as do I. I would not hesitate to wear them to any business casual event.
