- the shoes was nice color and fit my size with good quality and texture, but it was not identical to the photo exactlly. the base of the shoes in the photo has a white stitches but mine it has not.
- . . . are my Timberland boots. Timberland started out making great shoes; now the brand is associated with clothing and a lot of other crap. I have owned a number of Timberland shoes, with differing results. And, I know that while these boots are expensive, you can spend more to buy boots with more technical features, more R&D, etc.
Forget the prices, the Timberland brand of fashion, and even the 'better' boots that you might find at a boutique hiking store. THESE boots are the stuff. I have owned my pair for a decade, and they are only getting better.
And I have worn them hard, if not often. Long hikes and camping trips, deep snow, rain, and even city streets (including an inaugural walk from Greenwich Village to Midtown Manhatten in them), and I have devoted zero time caring for them. The result? Bulletproof leather, soles (including the heels) that seem to show no wear, increased comfort, and not one drop of water has gotten to my feet. I have stood in running creeks, played in the snow for hours, worn them in the rain (you get the idea) - with no leaks. They are amazing. (Was walking through the dark just last night as a matter of fact, in isolated rural Missouri after about a month of springtime rain, and heard my feet going ankle deep in puddles while I stargazed upward - wet feet couldn't have been further from my mind.)
Buy these at any price. As for me, I think I'll be buried in mine; perhaps they'll be found again someday, with my teeth.
- These Timberland boots are rugged and dependable just as Amazon notes! I have had these boots for years and they never let in a single drop of water, slush, freezing rain--you name it, they protected my feet from it.
The boots will cost you more than some of the other brands but I assure you that there's no better boot for men out there. They are remarkably water resistant; and if you spray on a bit of water repellent you'll have even greater confidence. You won't need the water repellent; but it sure makes you extra super-duper sure that your feet will be dry no matter what!
The laces also stay intact years after you purchase these boots. The sole and the overall construction reflect excellent quality throughout. I'm very impressed!
Overall, men won't find a better boot than those made by Timberland. I highly recommend these boots for men during bad weather. They keep your feet warm, too! If you need a boot that goes higher than 6 inches Timberland makes those as well; and they're every bit as good as these are.
Wear 'em in good health!
- This boot is affordable, and simple enough that it can be worn everyday with jeans or sweat pants. This boot goes with everything.
I usually wear a 12 - 12 1/2 in mens, but in this boot, I took a 11 1/2.
So it runs small

- I bought these for a friend (not work; vascular problems & needed something cheap for winter. Imagine my surprise when, upon ordering a size smaller & sending back the wrong size the box was returned to me w/ a "no forwarding address" notation. Unless you plan on keeping them should there be a problem I wouldn't recommend them. No F/W address?????

- I've owned 3 pairs of these when i was a kid.
The soles are marking. If you stomp on something or drag your feet, you will leave dark thick black marks.
The toe likes to come unglued from the sole. I reccomend shoe goo.
The leather, if it can be called such, is coated with plastic of some sort. It's not spit shineable.
The boots are decently light and somewhat wearable. They get 3 stars because they're cheap.
- We purchased these boots for my husband who works in the construction field(mainly insulation instalation) which requires him to climb in high places, walk on trusses, and also be under floors sometimes in standing water and other harsh weather conditions. In my opinion these boots DO NOT have "heavy duty" rubber soles at all but cheap soles that start to rub and crumble almost immediately under working conditions. There is also no arch or foot support inside the boot itself. There is a piece of leather saying "Made in China" and that's it. The tag even reccomends getting some sort of insole. The worst part is that on the tag of the boot it states that you should get the next size up than what your normal boot size is. The seller did not state this fact. All in all, if you are purchasing these boots for long term wear or work related activities I DO NOT reccomend them. If they are for a teenager making a fashion statement or for a Halloween costume they're perfect.

- I got the shoes on the day I was promised. It is a columbia which has a very good reputation and I was not disappointed. I brought it for my son since you don't usually can find men size 7 in the store. However, you have to be sure about your shoe size or even try the actual shoes before you order your shoes online.
- Purchased these boots for backpacking. So far I have backpacked across the Grand Canyon in these boots. There are holding up great, excellent traction in all conditions. Well made with great ankle support. They are a little heavy, however they appear well made. Comfortable. I would recommend these boots for the serious hiker, not you typical walking the trail boots.
- These boots were outstanding. They handling everything from dirt, to dust, to knee deep mud... Highly recommended!
- I stumbled across this boot on sale while trying to find something (at the last minute) in a wide width for a late season hunting trip, and couldn't be happier with this product! Over the past month, I have worn the Peak GTX while pheasant hunting, snowshoeing, shoveling show, and just walking the dog, which speaks to the boot's versatility and comfort. Although it is not a true insulated boot (which keeps the weight down), my feet have never felt cold, even in below-zero temps here in Minnesota... a good pair of wool socks will do wonders for staying warm.
With regard to fit, be forewarned that Columbia boots seem to run a bit shorter than average - I ordinarily wear an 11, but am glad I ordered the 11.5 in this model. The wide width version has been a welcome relief for my 3E-width "duck feet" and this is one of the few boots in which I have felt comfortable for extended walking and standing.
- I've been rambling on the south american Andes for the past three years with these comfortable yet sturdy boots. They'll even keep you dry on moderate glaciers such as Ritacuba. I'm buying new ones for my husband.

- I love timberland boots, I've been wearing them for the past 5 years and overall I was very satisfied with them. However this last pair that I bought disappointed me a bit though. I've had to send them back after a few months because I was getting a very annoying sound from each one on every step I took. The return was easy, and I got my refund.
I bought a new pair at a store, and have been wearing them for about 6 months now, but I a starting to get the same sound of one of the pairs. This issue needs solving fast.
These boots are great for people who like to walk a lot, and not nesecarely walking on concrete. I just hope the quality gets back to where it used to be.
- These boots were exactly what my 17-year-old son wanted, but when we ordered his regular shoe size, they were way too big. He needed them for a trip, so we didn't have time to exchange them by mail. He tried on two other pairs at a local sporting goods store, and ended up with a full size smaller than his regular shoe size. I wish that the website had provided advice on sizing.
