1. Apprehensive at first about spending that much on a ski hat, but took the plunge because Italian made clothing has not disappointed me in the past. I was amazed at how quick the item arrived, the packaging and wrapping was so beautiful, the details of how the hat was made are evident in the weave, the ply of cashmere used, even the smell is wonderful. According to the little booklet that came with it, explains that they wash the cashmere with natural soaps and spring water, the soapy smell is floral, I would say rose like. They use a dried thistle bloom to pull out the fluff from the wool and keep it neat. There is no denying this 260 year old mill that produces these hats is one of the last remaining that make such quality product in Europe. The sizes seems to run a little on the small side, keep that in mind when ordering.
